-5 STARS I love Panera but it's hard to keep loving something when things like your order isn't correct keep happening. Now today, as I wait in line really wishing I could have a smoothie but I can't because they are out of the yogurt they use in their smoothies. I sadly need to write this review. First it's the wrong smoothie given, asked for strawberry, she says banana strawberry, she corrects herself, & the ticket reads strawberry but I got a strawberry banana. They corrected that issue with a new smoothie on my next visit. I ordered a flip flop cookie, never got it, wasn't charged for it either but never got my cookie not even at my next visit. Ordered a Turkey Bacon BLT hold the tomatoes. I got my sandwich with everything including tomato, ticket reads no lettuce... that's not what I asked for and it definitely had the lettuce & tomatoes! Now today no yogurt for a smoothie... not happy but still hungry so I hope my sandwich has no tomatoes like I asked for... soon to find out! Update: 7/25/18 There were no tomatoes last time only because I said "last time I said no tomatoes and I still got them" Today however I said no tomatoes, I double checked at the window with the next person, the ticket says no tomatoes... GUESS what my Turkey Avocado BLT had on it yep the T... tomatoes! I don't like them and the slimy seeds get stuck on everything PLUS your making me throw away perfectly good tomatoes that someone else could be eating!! It's wasteful!!!! 8/28/18 Checked my order before leaving the drive thru guess what it had on it... yep Tomatoes!! I gave it back expecting a new one OR at least new bread because tomatoes leave their slimy seeds all over the bread once smashed together on a sandwich. Guess what I got back, same sandwich and same bread with tomato seeds and slim all over it. I've always had a just-okay experience at this Panera, but the service last night was one of the worst I've experienced anywhere. I was "helped" by an employee I'd never seen before, so maybe she was new, but she was downright unpleasant. She walked up to the register and literally glared at me, but said nothing. I thought maybe she just needed a minute, because she didn't verbally acknowledge me in any way, but she just continued to glare at me. I told her that I had a pickup order, which she wordlessly turned around and got, and then all but threw it at me, giving me absolutely no time to gather the two large bags and drink. She then glared at me until I had it situated and could leave. Sharing this because I hope management can figure out what the heck was going on. Didn't get her name, but she was blonde with messy hair, wearing a black hoodie with concert tour info on the back, and I think a black baseball cap. Extremely disappointed in my Fuji Apple salad that I got after a long night shift. I got a whole salad for $10 and what I received (on the go drive thru) was a half filled dish that looked more like a half salad. I have gotten this salad many times before at OTHER Panera's and it is always a nice sized salad that will work well to keep me for. What I received was more like a snack. The Panera Bread did not impress. It was outright bad. The chicken that came on my tortellini and my friend's sandwich looked like a scoop of Fancy Feast. The bread was kind of a saving grace I guess. They gave me a pretty big slice! My theory is that the Panera is trying to use it to absorb the rest of the food in my tummy. Maybe that would keep me from having the fire shits later on. Well think again Panera!! Your food has left me bedridden with the heated blanket set on nine!! A storm is ah' brewing!! They also gave my friend a dirty spoon. But in hindsight, that only added a little flavor to our horrible meal. If she gets any kind of diseases from said spoon, I guess the Panera will be paying for her college. It be like that. I do not recommend. read more

This experience was quite a roller coaster for me. By the end of the ride I neither very happy, or very disappointed. For starters, as I pull away, and try a sip of my Sierra Mist, guess what, it was carbonated water, effin gross. Did not want to waste the time to turn around and go back through the drive-through. I make it back to the hotail room to devour my sammich, guess what, the sandwhich is cold. Turkey bacon is what I ordered. After I got over the unwanted surprise of it being cold, it by far the best cold sandwhich I had ever put in my belly before! The chips you get with a side, eh, I ain't got no complaints about them. I did order a chocolate chip cookie, that honestly, was out of this world!! Seriously, it made up for the fact that my drink was useless and the sandwhich was cold. Panera Bread located on University Dr. is my favorite location. The whole staff is super friendly, the food is great, specially my most favorite, Fuji apple with chicken salad. They prepare it just right and the vinegrette is delicious. also would like to thank employee Nicole Anderson for being super nice and courteous, service was excellent. we keep going to this location over and over again because of the food and excellent service we get each time. read more

It is the worst Panera Bread of all that I have tried over the last 15 years in different cities and states. Even though this place has improved since they've opened in 2012, it is still the worst. In the first year, 2012, my experience was bad: I finished my food (which took very long time to get) and never got the smoothie I ordered. I asked a few times about it, and was told it was coming. I had to come back to the counter and complain, asking for refund. At that point a supervisor took care of the refund and gave the smoothie for free (the only right thing that happened that day there). I actually like the food. Unlike some other yelpers, I have not had any problems with the food here, maybe the soup is not very hot, but all other problems are common as mentioned by several others: 1. Overpriced. ($3.29 for a baguette?) 2. Small portions (see the 1/2 sandwich photo uploaded here -- looks like 1/4 of a sandwich -- that combo with the soup is $7.99). 3. If there is a line, placing orders is slow. 4. Drive-through is inefficient and takes forever if there is at least one car ahead of you. 5. Parking lot is small and cumbersome to get to (bad location design, even though it was build very recently and specifically for this restaurant). I am very disappointed because I like this chain in general, and welcomed arrival of this store to the area. read more

Now I understand that nothing here is made entirely fresh and most things are delivery but this was terrible experience. I went to panera last night for the first time in a while and I ordered the turkey chili the Greek salad and a cinnamon roll The turkey chili was awful. It was like what served to Oliver Twist only brown in color. The Greek salad was all wilted lettuce and a smaller portion then what served on the little kidney shaped plates they had years ago. ordered drive-through pick up, went to the drive-through, and was told I had to go inside to pick up before I even said my name, after I told them my name the guy couldn't find my order so I had to reorder at the speaker. when I got to the window I saw an employee that definitely did not want to be there. got my food and told him he forgot the drink and side bread( very nicely) and was met with an eye roll. after finally getting home, my soup was watery and cold. My Avocado BLT had no bacon and no avocado, it was just a dry lettuce and tomato sandwich.... overall I didn't have one item in my order that wasn't messed up when I called to see what could be done( during open hours) no one answered. Came in today (a Saturday) and they must have a different crew and manager on the weekends. Poor checkin (weekday staff always ask me if I want to add on a pastry!) which I HAD wanted to but when I finished ordering and handed my money I said I wanted to add a pastry the girl (Nadia) said "sorry it will be full price as I've already rung you up", ugh! Then we get our order and my grill cheese sandwich had a burned side (of course it was the side they had turned down toward the plate) that I didn't notice until the first bite. We go here a lot after church on Sunday mornings. We stopped by this morning for a coffee and light breakfast. The girl at the front counter (when she finally came to the counter) was so unwelcoming and unfriendly. Acted like she couldn't be bothered with waiting on us. I attempted to engage with her asking how she was doing. I ordered, my husband tried to order. They had no sausage - no ham. He ended up not ordering anything for himself- just paid for mine. My order was brought to the table and we decided to leave. I spoke to the manager on my way out the door. He said they didn't have ham or sausage due to Covid shortages. He said the girl at the counter usually works in the back and on the drive thru. I said- she is the face of this Panera when people walk in to order. As far as meat shortages- she could have suggested something else. It's hard to discern those menu boards. He just said 'sorry'. In the time of Covid when people aren't eating out- why would a restaurant be so dismissive of customers? We won't be going back anytime soon. read more

This is an average Panera at best. Granted, it is usually very busy during peak times. But they are very slow. It took 10 minutes in line to order and over another 15 minutes to receive it. And guess what? The order was wrong! The soups are good, the sandwiches are average and the salads are very large without much in them besides greens. Most of the dressings on the various salads are very tasty but the added ingredients are sparse, especially the proteins. I had a giant bowl of lettuce today for almost $7 and that was for the 1/2 salad. Customer service is friendly. read more

The other negative reviews don't surprise me as I've been a handful of times and (while the food has been okay for me) the service is usually terrible! There are some nice people there, but tonight I ordered my food at the counter and we decided we'd take it to go... Cashier was rude. Didn't tell us where to wait for to-go orders and all but waved us away, stuffing the receipt in my hand. Waiting, we kept looking for the order to be called out, or set up by the counter... you know, something... An employee wiping down some nearby tables overheard our conversation musing about the wait. She rudely asked "what'da have?" She walks across to the other side, grabs the bag we could not see, and proceeds to WAG it back and forth with a cocked eyebrow. Does she walk it over? No! Holding the bag up at me, I approach like a scolded dog. I thank her for finding it to which she responds flippantly, "yeah." I wish I could give negative stars for this service. I've been to this location four times and each time it got progressively worse. Today I went for lunch and was greeted by an "associate trainer" at the cash register. I could tell even before stepping up to order that she didn't want to be there. She didn't even look at me when speaking and had a very rude and impatient tone. I asked her if everything was okay and she took that as an insult and continued to be rude to me. I would have just told her to forget it and left but my girlfriend had already ordered. Now on to the food. I ordered the turkey panini and a sweet tea. The turkey panini was soggy and the sweet tea wasn't sweetened. When I went to an employee behind the counter to tell them that the sweet tea wasn't sweet they quickly barked at me that they would bring my food to me. Again without even looking at me. Well thanks, but that's not what I wanted from you. My girlfriend got the bread bowl, which in the past had been ok. Today for some reason they hardly scooped any of the bread out. I guess this is just another way that they can cheat their customer. Only come here if you want to pay $11 for a soggy sandwich and rude service. Hopefully they all haven't fallen this far, as other locations have been good, especially the original St. Louis bread company. Safe to say I will never be back to this location. read more

Apparently this Panera Bread has no standards and is simply hoping that no one else notices. I would definitely vote it The Absolute Worst Place to Have Lunch in a heartbeat. Despite a very below average first experience at this Panera Bread, I decided to try it a couple more times since I am a huge fan of the chain. I can now safely say that at least this location is very consistent--- consistently serving soggy sandwiches, cold soup, extremely dry&old tasting pastries, and a very long wait for even when it's not busy (for subpar food at that). This location shouldn't even be allowed to bear the Panera Bread logo as its making the chain look bad. Not to mention, today while in their drive-thru two of their employees ran their trash cart into the side of the car in front of me and then yelled at the customer to roll her window down, lied and said she didn't hit anything, and then continued on hollering and yelling. She even got up close to my side window and yelled "I said HELLO" when I didn't roll my window down and say hello back to her I suppose. Just how I like my lunch: paying almost $20 to wait 20 minutes for crappy food with employees yelling at me in the drive-through, and the fear of them crashing a trash cart into my car. No thanks Panera Bread. Newk's is ONLY a block away with better food, as well as Freebird's, Chicken Express, Olive Garden, Cheddar's, Chipotle, and even the Original Fried Pie Shoppe. Don't waste your time waiting for the terribly disappointing food&experience at Panera and take advantage of the fact that only a block away are businesses that actually don't suck. read more

If you live next to Mugwalls and still drive to Starbucks to get coffee, this might be the place for you! Seriously though, it's not good. Everything just taste like salt. Let me start by first saying I have been to this location very very often while I lived in Bryan. I don't quite understand all the negative comments. I have found Panera in general to be a bit expensive, but why down this location for a overall cost issue. That being said, We've always had a nice time when eating here. Even when there are long lines, they move fairly quick and people in line don't seem to be very upset about it. The food has almost always been great and when it wasn't they fixed the issue. For all the complaints I see here, I don't recall seeing one person upset about this location while I was enjoying my meal. Maybe the people who enjoy this location just aren't motivated to post reviews. Just a thought. read more

My daughter and I visit this location on several occasions. The reason I am giving Panera a low score is for three reasons. First of all, we have visited the location specifically for a cappuccino. There have two occasions in the last six months that their cappuccino machine was broken. Secondly, they are very understaffed during peak hours, which results in wrong food orders and nasty behavior. Both of which I find unacceptable. I would be willing to return, but I have chosen to go elsewhere. I don't find the food worth the hassle of going there. This is the WORST panera bread ever! We took our 6yr old here for her birthday tonight because that is where she wanted to go with dad and mom. She got a kids soup meal, my husband got a salad/soup combo and I got a sandwich/soup combo( nothing to difficult) oh, and my daughter wanted a bagel. It took 40min to get the bagel then when we finally got our food, my soup was cold and they didn't give me a spoon or my husband a fork for his salad. I had to get someone to get me another soup which wasn't much better. The lady who helped us said she would get manager that never came over. The couple who ordered after us got their food after ours AND the so called manager brought it out. He told them he would refund them for the wait because that was to long but when we confronted him, he acted dumb and didn't offer to refund ours even though we waited longer. He had ZERO manners and looked like a bum off the street. I have 8 kids with much better manners and I'm probably twice his age and he never once showed any manners. We had kids waiting at home and still had an hour drive back to Brenham so we weren't happy! Next time we will drive to a different panera bread if my Littles just have to have it. Panera is a waste of time and money. no matter the location they are usually so slow. i tried it out one last time and I left half way through my $13 meal. which consisted of a tiny half sandwich and a small cup of soup. both of which i know aren't even fresh and are delivered to the store premade in plastic bags. then on top of that, the wifi didn't even work and there's only like, one table next to an outlet??? which was the reason i even went. do not go unless you're fine with paying $15 for a crumb and splash of soup and not getting any work done. 0/5 stars for all Panera's read more
