I was excited to see that Douglasville was getting a Panera Bread. I went on the second day they opened. I opt to go through the drive thru since they were very busy inside. While waiting in line a customer came out and said just to let you know in case you want to leave before you become trapped in the drive thru,they are out of bread. So I tried again tonight and they were out of bread again. How do you run out of bread you are PANERA BREAD. The service SUCKS!! I wont be back to this location for awhile. read more

This is the worst Panera in North America! The lines are unnecessarily long , and the wait time to receive ones order is 30 minutes or more. I love Panera, but the food received from this location ( on both occasions) appeared unfresh. The bakery items were boarder line stale, and the managers appeared clueless. They've been open long enough to have worked out the "kinks". The entire wait staff appears to be simply standing around. In addition, it appears to be somewhat unsanitary when the wait staff grabs your dine in order from the window. Today, I witnessed a waitress basically place her finger in someone's soup while grabbing it to carry to their table. This location will more than likely close as quickly as it opened. read more

Just like others, I was so happy to have a Panera near me, however, they leave little to be desired. I've been to this Panera about 3 times since it's opening trying to give it more chances to be better, but the employees are what make this place so bad. Today I went through the drive-thru not minding the long wait time, but when I arrived at the window the employee stood there with a sour face barely answering my question. When she gave me my card back, I almost had to open my car door to reach her as she showed no effort to hand it back to me. My order was wrong (again, no problem because things happen and was not in a hurry) but when I went back inside to fix it, I was ignored by the woman taking orders who clearly made eye contact with me and asked for the next person in line. When I finally reached the person able to fix my order, she was more than willing and let me keep what I had gotten. This is the only reason I gave it two stars. Their rapid pick up was not working this day or else I could have bypassed all of this nonsense. read more

Garbage. Every time I come I wait at least 20 minutes for my food. The last time was just two bagels and they were both cold by the time they came out. I also ordered butter with the bagels and it didn't come out with them and then when I asked for it the employees were upset. Then took another 10 mins just to bring me butter. Panera needs to get all there cashiers to try all there products they are selling I am tried of asking them how something taste and them saying they never tried it before. I know it's not their fault but when working in a place that has does not a simplistic menu like a McDonald's or etc they need to be able to try the food. This place is so disappointing, every time my fiancé and I visit they are always out of something. It never fails. Today was the last day we will ever visit. The management needs to take a look at the employees, customer service is never the primary concern. The owners(if this is a franchise) need to focus on leadership development of their management. They should never have a customer leave because they are out of meat or bread at 8:30 when the establishment doesn't close until 10:pm. We were ecstatic to see Panera open in the neighborhood but are now disgusted that we have to drive out of the way to get good service and the actual meal we want without substituting bread choices or being told the meat we desire is completely out "for the night"! read more

Ordered at the kiosk when there were hardly any people at the restaurant. We waited almost 30 minutes to get our food. While we waited, multiple workers came out to tell us they were out of this or that. When we ordered a substitute they offered, they would come back out 5 minutes later telling us they were out of the item they offered. When we finally received our order, we were ready to go home just in time to see they still got our order wrong AND left out an item. The portions were small and they skimped on the meats. All of the previous reviews appear to be on target! I loved Panera in Virginia all of locations from northern Virginia to Richmond ate at more than a few when I traveled for work. Moved to Georgia and was so excited when I saw Douglasville was adding a Panera Bread but my face fell to the floor very quickly! Order incorrect and cashiers was rude and rolling her eyes! I arrived at this location at 8:20am I work across the street at the mall I've waited 10mins before I was helped and another 15 for my food. I just don't understand why they have a pager system if the pagers don't work on top of that my food sat in the window and got cold no one has apologized to me at all for the wait there was no communication about the wait or for my food that sat in the window names are being called out but they did not call mine at all. The service at this location is horrible I don't think I will ever come back to this location again!! So, I never wanted to be this person, but seriously? This location is probably the worst. A few months back there was hair all over my bread bowl (it looked like pubic hair) so I just stopped going and never said anything. My mom *came* here religiously but about a month ago she went during lunch and when her food was brought out there were literal BUGS crawling all over her food- either ants or baby roaches. They had the audacity to ask if she wanted something else. Like, are you stupid? NO. Today, my coworkers wanted food from here and the drive thru was busy but it was even busier inside. An order for three meals is very simple- but they still managed to miss over half of our items. Of course it was too busy to go in or go back around and I already spent over half of my break just waiting in line to get the food. So after receiving maybe 70% of our orders which weren't even correct, I will have to just avoid going to this location all together. I was excited when it opened but I am wondering if it is poor management or lazy employees. Very aggravating. If I can rate 0 stars I would. Everything was perfect, the girl in the drive thru window was the nicest girl I've met in customer service period, especially for a drive thru. The one and only thing that ruined my appetite was GM Monica. The way I heard her speak to her employees was disgusting and broke my heart. It's only cups of soup and sandwiches and I heard her yelling as if she was Chef Ramsey. The cursing was the cherry on top to NEVER coming again. I've visited this Douglasville location on several occasions, each time a less than subpar experience, yet hoping that this new business coming into our community would bring a breath of fresh air. Customer service is not horrible, but I cannot say it's been great either. Employees are not welcoming, but seem more bothered that you are there. On several occasions food orders have been incorrect, and then as of recent, a totally BURNED breakfast sandwich. I'm not sure what would possess any individual to think that it is ok to serve something so charred. On top of that the over easy egg I ordered was scrambled. I'd like to hope the best for this restaurant, but to be as new as it is with all the low customer ratings it's a shame, time will tell how long this restaurant will last. I'm going back to The Bagel Meister up the street because it's very good, less of a hassle, they GET THEIR ORDERS right, awesome cashiers, and they don't run out of stuff even though they are busy all the time. II visited the franchise in many different states which started in my college days more than 20 years ago and I loved my experience! When I tell you this the WORST, I mean this is the WORST service at this location I've ever had I am serious. This location does the franchise injustice. I've been there 4 times since they've opened and it's always been a tragic experience whether going in to order or the drive-thru (although the girls are nice and pleasant). Who spends almost a hour waiting for an order only to find half of it missing? How does Panera run out of HONEY WALNUT CREAM CHEESE? for 4 days in a row? REALLY? How do Panera run out of BAGUETTES? REALLY? Shortage on CINNAMON RAISIN BAGELS? REALLY? Before 2:00 PM? REALLY? When I paid for my order in the drive thru an item was missing so I went in an brought it to the cashiers attention. The cashiers justification was (this actually came out of her mouth), "the reason why it's missing is because we are out of the cinnamon bagels." I said, "so you just weren't going to tell me or ask if there was something else but you were just going to charge me for it anyway?". The cashier said, "we don't tell people when we are out of something". WHAT?????? So Panera Bread stole from me (they didn't tell me and yes they did charge me) because they were out of it. I've always really been a fan of Panera Bread going up, so I was excited when this one opened. Unfortunately, their lack of customer service is what makes me not want to come back. You have employees talking rather than taking care of the customer and when I finally get helped, I'm spoken to with a clearly annoyed voice. When I finally got my food for to go, they did not come to give me my food, in fact one girl held it in her hands and continued to have a conversation with someone else while I waited for her to give it to me. Management is practically nonexistent because the first time I came here three people got their food before me and I was still waiting. I did not even get something for my unnecessarily long wait. I work at Target across the street and I am highly unsatisfied. I'd rather go to another Panera than this one on Chapel Hill. This place has some of the worst customer service in all of Douglasville and that saying something. The food is okay even if it is a little bit overpriced, but the service is slow and often makes mistakes. Tonight I called to make a takeout order of just two bowls of soup nothing more than that. I called at 8:45 and they told me they couldn't do a takeout order over the phone that I had to do it over the internet so that's what I did, and drove to the Panera just as they were closing. I pulled up in the Drive-Thru Lane and the cashier told me I'm sorry we're closed I explained to her that I had just placed an online order and she told me that she couldn't do online orders through the drive-thru window that I had to come in. So I parked the car and went to the door and knocked on it and the manager said I'm sorry we're closed I explained to him that I've made a takeout order over the Internet he let me in grudgingly, and then they didn't have my food ready they said they were out of the soup that I had ordered. There was also another customer an elderly lady who is complaining that they messed her order up also. So they gave me a bowl of a different kind of soup that I hadn't ordered and didn't even bother saying I'm sorry or try to make it up in any way. The manager and all of the staff there just acted blase as if all they wanted to do was go home. I've been to Panera's in other cities and they were okay but this place is absolutely terrible. read more

I have been to this Panera about 15 times now. I have not left a review previously because this was a fairly new store (5-6 months), and I figured some of my negative experiences were growing pains. I love Panera, so I will probably keep returning unless some significantly negative experiences take place - which they have before, and they caused me to delay going back for some time. Generally speaking, customer service is poor. Like many other people stated, the cashiers often do not greet you and are sometimes particularly rude/unfriendly. Sometimes it's neutral, but NEVER positive. Today, I went for lunch and it took 40 - yes, FORTY, minutes for my soup and salad to come out. It was sort of busy there, but Panera is supposed to be a quick stop for work lunches. 40 minutes is not acceptable, even if it's a Sunday. I often see people working slow as molasses and focused more on chatting than working. My other complaint is that they have often been out of food, and you often find that out AFTER you've paid and ordered. I'm going to hope that management is reading these reviews and that things gradually improve. read more

i was a little hesitant to go to this location because of the other reviews but decided to give it a shot. there was a long wait at the drive thru but the workers seemed polite while taking my order and money and giving me my food so they must have received more training. my mac and cheese was hot however the bread bowl was cold but i wasn't too bothered by this because it was still fresh so i heated it up for a little bit. the receipt said it was supposed to come with a baguette and i didn't get one which i realized when i got home. however, i wasn't bothered because there was a whole bread bowl. read more
