Husband had a taste for pizza, so we drove over to Douglasville to eat at Nancy's. This was our first time dining here. There weren't many people there on Sunday afternoon. There was a sign at the entrance that read please wait to be seated. We stood there a few minutes before the waitress walked over and told us to sit anywhere we'd like. After sitting down we realized that Shan, the hostess was also the waitress, server, bartender and cashier. She was very friendly and was having great conversations with the other guests. We started out with lemon pepper wings. They were very tasty. We built our own pizza with Italian beef, green peppers and black olives. It was really good. My lose friend recommended this spot, so I tried it with my grandson. First, I was surprised that the cocktail menu was not accurate. This place has no liquor license according to the waitress. But the cocktail menu states available drinks with tequila, gin, vodka, rum, etc. the waitress explained that it was wine-based. ?!!!??? Nevertheless, the service and food was excellent and hot and fast. My grandson ordered lemon-pepper wings, but they were honey based. ???!! He asked for another flavor which was bbq and he thoroughly enjoyed them!!! I had a small thin crust meat lover pizza added mushrooms. It was awesome. Everything came out hot and fresh and quickly! So I've heard decent things about Nancy's and as a Chicago pizza lover I knew I had to finally check it out before my Chicago trip next week. I arrived and thought they were closed, no cars in the parking lot but maybe 1 or 2 in front of the other business. We go inside and there's no a single customer inside but us. We're greeted and seated, and our order is taken. Super simple order. Thin 10in cheese. Extra this 14in pepperoni. No mods no special Request. After about 30 mins I'm starting to get upset because there's no one else there and they aren't sending food out Togo so why are 2 thin pizzas taking so long?!?! At a point I'm ready to go so I ask her " where's the food? This is crazy all this time for 2 thin pies" She reply's "they are coming up. " Sure but how long?! Anyway they come out about 4 mins later and she tells us the kids 10in cheese is now a meatball because she "messed up ringing it In" The reality is they were messing around and forgot to make it and it was probably an employees or some mess up from earlier and they tried to play it off as a mistake instead of actually making what we ordered. She offered to make a cheese which if that was the case should have just been done from the start. But I also wasn't about to wait another 30+ mins for a thin 10in pie for the kids so we unfortunately settled for the wrong pie. Sure she was cheery and friendly which is great but cheery and getting the order wrong is not. The cheer has little appeal at that point. And I have to say for $20-$30 a plan pie there's no excuse for 1 the time it took in a completely empty restaurant and to mess it up. Which is even worse. You weren't weeded or busy enough to be messing up orders. As for the space. It's a decent size, and has multiple tvs. Would have been nice if instead of leaning in the counters and playing on their phones maybe they could have turned the volume up on the cartoons for the kids while we waited all that time. The city of Chicago is passionate about food and positive dinning experiences and Nancy's didn't deliver that today. Was I didn't get the experience others claimed to receive. read more

Nancy's has always been one of our favorite pizza places in the area. Today (Sunday) my wife and I went to Nancy's at about 2:00 in the afternoon and experienced disappointment in most every aspect. The first thing we noticed was a small sign indicating that there is now no dining room service on Mondays and Tuesdays...fine, we didn't think much of it. As we went in further, we noticed multiple tables sitting dirty while we were waiting on someone to seat us during a non-busy time. Once we finally took our seats, it was slow to get menus slow to get drinks. Then, when ordering pizza, we couldn't get a sausage pizza because they were out of sausage. No big deal, we thought we'd try ground beef, but they were out of ground beef as well. The pizzas we were able to finally get were good, but not the ingredients we were hoping for...sausage is one of the ingredients seems like you should never run out of. Then we waited about 15 minutes for a box and to check out. All the while, one of the servers was leaning on the bar, chatting with other customers. Service, quality and satisfaction was not a priority at Nancy's today. Overall, broke a history of great service and great pizza with slow service and overall poor experience. We'll give it another try sometime, but not in a hurry. read more

I ordered through UberEats so I cannot comment on the service or ambiance. We've been wanting to try the stuffed pizza for a few years and it did not disappoint. We had a pepperoni and pineapple with half cheese pizza, fettuccine with meatballs, and mozzarella sticks. The fettuccini was okay and having the meatballs added to it may have made them dry. My daughter loved her mozzarella sticks. They were large and basic but good to her. My main tiff is the price. The only good thing was the onion rings, ordered the godfather the meat was tasteless and heated so hot you know it came out of the microwave. The peppers were merely chopped green peppers that's not it. Also got a thin crust cheese pizza the crust was not tasty and had a random smell like frozen grocery pizza. Food was great, and the service was great. It is a little pricey for a pizzeria. Where they failed at, is charging 22% gratuity instead of the 18% stated on the menu. When I pointed this out to the server and the manager and asked that they correct this in their point of sales system, they both said the corporate office controls this and they cannot override it. I reached out to the corporate office, and they said the franchisee sets this rate and only the franchisee can adjust it. Corporate office also said the franchisee would be crediting my card for the overcharged amount. It has now been three weeks, and no credit has been received, nor has the local management reached out to me. The franchisee owner/manager made an extra ~$12 from our table on the improper gratuity charge, and lied about who set that rate. I would have given 4 stars if not for the gratuity scam they are running at this location. read more

This was my second visit here, was trying to give them the opportunity to do better. After this visit they are lucky that I have to give a star in order to leave a review. Let's see, first the order I place 45 minutes before arriving didn't get ready until 45 minutes after I got there. Computer error is what I was told. I ordered: a small deep dish, breadsticks and a blueberry salad. The pizza was over priced and tasted mediocre, honestly, I should have gone to Little Caesars instead. The breadsticks lacked flavor and were extremely greasy. The salad was $16 and change and it was by far not even close to what you would expect for $16. Let's see, almost no greens, all I had was purple cabbage lots and lots of purple cabbage. The dressing must have been the wrong one did not go well with the salad and the presentation of the salad was horrible. Its game night and I placed an order via door dash for a sandwich and wings. Well, when I arrived to pick it up only the sandwich was ready. The cashier said, "let me get the owner Tracy", well she never come. After waiting for 15 mins for her to come, the cashier said well we will make the wings for the price that was printed. It's now 40 mins later and I am waiting on the wings that i originally placed on doordash. The place is quaint and small mostly for pickup. However, my first experience wasn't the greatest. We sat at the bar to order a pizza to go. There was only one girl working both the bar and the restaurant waiting tables for a Saturday at noon. She was super busy but very friendly and helpful. We ordered a deep dish stuffed pizza. I was so disappointed when I tried to eat a slice when we got home. It wasn't cooked all the way so the bottom stuck to the carboard box and there were huge chunks of raw green peppers and onions. It was so bad that I ended up putting it in our oven for about 40 minutes to try and cook it more but it didn't really help. It was $82 for the pizza and 4 beers. I wish now that I had taken it back but I'm just not one to do that. We ate there almost exactly a year ago and had the same experience. But we use to eat at the Nancy's Pizza in East Point before it closed and they were so amazing. So I wanted to give this place another chance. I guess this must be a different company but the menu looked the same. Anyway, I won't be going back again. It was just terrible. I only gave two stars because the girl who waited on us was so nice and I tipped her well. But yeah, the food was horrible. read more

They only have one server for a dining room of 25 tables. If the ownership was serious about improving, they should focus on hiring, improving quality of service, and having more engagement with the customers by management. We love deep dish Chicago pizza, so this was a must try. The onion rings were amazing I highly recommend trying those. They were beer battered and just a hint of spicy in the boomin' sauce. Very crispy and wonderful. We ordered a large Uncle Tony's and added mushrooms to it. It was very good. If we had never tried Chicago's finest, this would be the best.
