I LOVE PANERA. I usually go to the one back home in California but the quality of the dish is just the same here. I love the mediterranean veggie sandwich and would recommend it highly to anyone (really good if you also add turkey or other protein to it if you don't want a veggie dish). The salads are also really tasty as well as the soups. I usually get the french onion or the chicken noodle. Both are supreme. However, the portion sizes are really not that big, especially if you get a half portion (or you-pick-two option). Wish it was a bit larger... other than that though, a great and affordable meal! read more

I know this is a Panera but the food is bomb and service is fast so i'm satisfied and giving this place 4 stars. Not sure why reviews are so low here honestly. When I came on a Sat night there was no line at all - although parking can be difficult due to the many patrons of burger bach(?) So no need to use the kiosk things. I wasn't initially planning on getting a baked good but the kitchen sink cookie caught my attention and I couldn't resist. Well, it is honestly one of the best cookies I've ever had! It's soft, chewy, filled with chocolate chunks and pretzels with salt flakes on top - perfect combo of sweet and salty. It's also the size of my face which can be both a good and bad thing... I also got the small mac and cheese with chips as a side. It truly is a small bowl but it's so so rich and creamy. It was piping hot even when I got back home and it's a great comfort food. Overall, my meal was around $8 and prob 8000 calories so won't be coming here too often except for when I'm craving some mac n' cheese cuz it's the best here. I did see some people doing work here with their laptops but i'm not sure what the wifi situation is like. read more

So honestly, I love Panera. But this location is a constant fail. Delivery generally takes 1.5 hours+ when they estimate 45 min. And always my go-to salad comes as just lettuce + meat. If you like things made correctly, then I would generally stay away from this location. I hate saying that, but we've given them lots of chances to make it work and it's always wrong. read more

I stopped by here for a quick take out with my wife. There was a huge line, but no worries there were plenty of little order kiosks that people tend to ignore. Instead of waiting in the 20 person line we ordered with the kiosk and got our order in pretty much before everyone that was there before us. Our order came out quickly and was almost exactly as we wanted, they had run out of a specific bread type my wife requested which wasn't a big deal because they offered a good alternative. My wife's order was a bit burnt but she said it was still very good. I ordered the turkey bacon bravo and it was made to perfection. I have no complaints to make about it. I even noticed a new little feature in this panera with a queue monitor to know who's meal is being prepped and when you should pretty much expect yours to be made. read more

The picture shows what they said were 2 strips of bacon for a sandwich that is over 4 dollars huh no I don't think so I walked back up there and asked and she said that's all the bacon that comes on it. Yesterday 10/15/18 Never would I have expected not only to not eat my favorite soup and salad, but I never would have expected to not eat lunch that day. The website clearly needs to be updated because it wouldn't let me place an order, it would ask for my address and when I entered it, the page refreshes and asks for my address again. I tried three different browsers, no change. Then I called and my call went through after 11.20min!. Who in the world waits past 2 minutes on the phone to place an order. THEN the line disconnects! Please note that this review is for their delivery service only. I used to eat at a nearby Panera many years ago when I worked in Raleigh. I made my way through most of their menu and it was all good. Soups, salads, sandwiches, pastries ... yum. Then I started working in Durham near Duke Regional Hospital and that was the end of that. I was pleased when Panera moved in on Ninth Street a couple of years ago, but never had a chance to visit. Now that they deliver I've had a chance to pick up where I left off. We (the office staff) have ordered delivery from Panera probably five or six time since last fall, and everything has been good. The website is easy to use, the delivery has always been on time (or earlier), and the delivered meals have been tasty. It's a bit pricy when you add the delivery fee and a separate tip but it's better than rushing out for a quick bite . I have one (small) complaint though. They put your salad in a box. The kind of box they also use for baked goods. One of those plastic bowls with a snap-on clear plastic lid would be nice (like fast food restaurants use) but I guess it wouldn't be as environmentally friendly. The box doesn't affect the taste of the salad. It just comes across as kind of sloppy. Oh well, that still won't stop me from ordering their Greek salad from time to time. read more

A pleasant surprise this morning was Panera Bread being open when I went searching for a good cup of coffee at 7:30 a.m.. (In my hometown, Panera does not open until late morning.). The coffee was excellent (with four choices), the croissant was fresh and tasty and the cashier was pleasant and helpful. When I return home to Ridgeland, MS, I plan to lobby for an early opening time for the local Panera Bread and its delicious coffee. (And their unique monthly coffee plan!). read more

As far as Paneras are concerned, this one is fine. I've usually come here during the late dinner hour (past 8:00 pm) and the place is rarely crowded when I've been there. Service is quick and efficient, and if they don't have a certain bread for a sandwich, they'll call me over and offer substitutes. The food is always fresh, and I've never had anything here I didn't like. I've had the occasional pastry, and they were fine. (I'm not a huge fan of sweets, so I don't have many pastries.) It's close to home for me, so it's a convenient location for me for whenever I'd like a quick bite to eat. read more

First time visiting this location, and ended up going with the "choose two" (which is a rather brilliant ordering option): fuji apple salad, half a fontina chicken sandwich, and an apple. The chicken sandwich was pretty average, and the aftertaste seemed just so slightly off. The salad was decent (loved the dried apples), and the small apple itself was crispy and sweet. When you are either in home town or travelling Panera bread never goes wrong. Coming from different state, you want somewhere in hopping place. So glad it was in 9th Street. Finding parking was easy but we could not get to stroll around 9th as in the parking lot it had mentioned something like " you cannot leave your vehicle and walk off the premises". There were ample parkings with customers coming in and out and streets parking were occupied. How do we get to stroll lil' around then? Awell, coming to Panera bread. We were there towards closing time still there were good flow of customers. The staff who took our order was too sweet. I order half Chicken avacoda melt and my hubby order turkey and not avacado melt. I loved my sandwich so much. I love the bread, it was unlike plain ol' toast and avacado melt was just too good. We ordered agave lemonade and blood red lemonade. When we got the order both looked and tasted the same. We usually do not get dessert but the the staff was so sweet we ended getting Coconut macaroons to satisfy our sweet tooth. We sat outside in the patio as the night started to cool off finally. Our company ordered breakfast for the entire Durham location for Friday July 6, 2018 approximately 200 people. They forgot our order. We decided to order take out lunch on 11/3/15 to eat at our nearby hotel (needed rest after surgery). Long line out the door and only 2 registers open. Unfortunately Wendy! was our cashier. I showed her my Panera card number, but she wanted my phone number. When told I don't remember which phone no. I used, she rolled her eyes. I ordered the 1/2 BLT Roast Turkey and 1/2 Salad with Blue Cheese. Wendy's disgusted answer "WE DON'T HAVE BC, it comes with Balsamic Dressing!" OK, fine, added a drink and Sweet. She closed the order even though my husband was starting to say what he wanted. Had to call for help to continue our order. 1 Asiago Steak w/chips, Soda & Sweet. Had to ask twice to get cups for our drinks. She said we don't need a buzzer for take out, they'll call our name. After all that, I filled our cups and went to car to rest. My husband sat and waited and waited. Kept seeing a brown bag on counter, finally asked if that was ours. Sure enough, never called our name though!! Finally, we're unwrapping our sandwiches. Mine fell completely apart upon opening, all ingredients were just piled high in globs. The salad dressing had a very strange taste to it, so I threw most of my salad away. Wendy! Had also decided I should have a piece of baguette instead of fruit or chips (she never asked me)! The Asiago Steak sandwich was even worse! Random ingredients thrown into the bread piled high in globs and the (usually delicious) horseradish sauce barely on just one corner. We tried to rearrange our sandwich ingredients to make the best of a very disappointing $24.86 lunch! We've been Panera customers for many years, but have noticed customer service and quality control, especially at this location, are non existent. Hire some friendly cashiers to start with. Where to start? I have visited this location three times, in the late afternoon after the lunch rush. On each visit, I have waited 10+ minutes for a coffee drink. Today the cashier had to leave the register to go find the person who was supposed to be making specialty beverages. I placed an order for a large hot chai tea latte to go. The ticket read 3:36. Drink was placed in my hand at 3:48; the three people who ordered smoothies AFTER me were served their drinks before me. Then I noticed 75 cent up charge for a Large. I asked about this, and was told by a young lady with a very poor attitude that I was confused, and that $3.89 was the price of the large cold drinks. I told her that I had ordered off the hot coffee menu, and pointed out to her that the menu clearly states a large hot chai tea latte is $3.89. She told me she would give me 75 cents "if it's really that important to you," then walked away with a "whatever" when I asked why they were tacking on a surcharge to an item listed at a specific price on the menu. I will NEVER spend money in this establishment again. The poor employees at the bottom are working their rears off while managers with surly attitudes are letting the place go to pot. I ordered lunch for delivery to Duke Hospital today for 8 nurses. I placed a mobile order and forgot one of the meals so I called the store and spoke with Anna. She was quick to take my additional order and made sure it was packed with my original delivery order. When the food arrived I was actually missing one of the meals. So I called the store, spoke with Anna again, and she immediately reprinted the meal ticket and sent it with a new delivery man. I eat Panera all the time, but I've never had pastries from here. My coworker brought some pastries into work today, so I decided to try. I had a piece of the cinnamon roll and some sort of pastry with cream cheese. The cinnamon roll was so delicious--almost as good as Cinnabon. You could smell it from a mile away, and there was plenty icing on it. The cream cheese pasty was also good--very moist and creamy. I might actually buy pastries from now on! read more

Coming from a former Panera Associate Trainer of 2 years, this is one of the worst Panera's I have ever walked into. The last 3 times I went its been a horrible experience. The first time I walked in, I almost didn't think there was any staff because the service was so poor. I'll be honest, I almost wanted to go back there and start making my own order! I've been to Paneras all over and have found them to be consistently good...except for the one in my neighborhood on 9th St. I have been there 3 times now, and it is getting worse and worse. The last time, and it will be the *last* time, when I walked in, there were mostly empty tables that were mostly dirty--unbussed and unwiped. When I got in line, it took forever, partly because the customer ahead of me was asking for their money back. Bad omen. After a very long wait, my sandwich order was wrong. Wrong veggies, and spreads, and wrong bread. Only after I asked, was I told that they were out of the correct bread. Latte was never acknowledged or made until I pointed it out. The two women making sandwiches were not slammed or busy, just slow and disinterested. I think the management is bad here. The turkey in my companions sandwich had frost on it!? Upon calling to see why the delivery driver was 15 mins late, I learned that Panera had forgotten about the order would not be able to follow through. This is the 4th similar experience for various departments within our company.
