This is a reliable Potbelly shop. I've had really good experiences over the past few months. The staff members make me a great sandwich consistently. They do the simple, foundational tasks very well. The toppings are distributed throughout your sandwich evenly. The sandwich is rolled in the paper properly and the ingredients don't fall out when you open it. Even though this is a chain restaurant, it was a well run one. The service was fast. The staff were friendly. Plus they cut their pickles daily which were very good. I had the A Wreck sandwich and my wife had the pizza melt. They were both very good! We will definitely go back when there. I used yelp to make a takeout order. I arrive in the store about 15 minutes after making the order. On the app it said it was still waiting for the store to acknowledge the order. I waited in the store a full 15 minutes and watch customer after customer walk in, make orders, gets their orders fulfilled and leave. I politely told one of the employees that I was in a hurry and needed to leave, so he said he'd start working on my order shortly. I ordered 2 orders of Mac and cheese. From far I could see him scoop something soupy/pasta like- something that looked like Mac and cheese into the little containers. He then returned to helping other customers. While waiting I overheard him tell a customer that they were out of Mac and cheese. Once I received my order and left and got home I was so disappointed to discover that they had given me soups instead of Mac and cheese. I'm super disappointed in this store for its ridiculous customer service. read more

I'm addicted to this place! Their flatbread is good enough to be eaten alone though with so many choices of sandwich fillings, it may never come to that. My favorite is the veggie sandwich melt with avocado and three types of cheese and mushrooms but you can add as many toppings as you want and customize the cheese. Their Mediterranean is good as well and they have your traditional subs and a few more "exotic" lol flavors. The only suggestion I'd have is offering a few more condiments like ranch. I know it's pedestrian but it doesn't mean it isn't good! They are very fast and keep things rolling along there. read more

I love Potbelly's, so was happy to find out that a new location in Durham opened recently. I went there for lunch the other day, and ordered my usual Wreck sandwich and soup. The quality was excellent, the store was clean, and parking was easy. Where my experience fell short was with the service and employees. They were very few customers in the store, and at least five employees behind the counter, but they were all focusing on other things and not worrying about the customers. Two were talking about T-shirts. There was a small line of people to check out, but the cashier just up and walked away after checking out one person, to answer a question another employee had asked him about where something g was. The customers were left just standing there. It took about two minute or so before someone else came over to check them out. Only one person was making sandwiches, despite there being a line. The other employees talking to each other and one could have easily helped out with sandwich making. Then when I got up to the register to pay, even though I was in line, the cashier left again. It took another couple minutes before the woman who made my sandwich went up there to check me out. The cashier never said "wait a minute" or anything, he just turned his back on me and started making cookies and talk to another employee. Weird. Why would he walk away on a customer standing there to make cookies? The most unpleasant part of the visit was the manager and service. There was a thin woman who was clearly the manager and she berated employees loudly three times just while I was in the store. At one point, she just started yelling "don't touch my iPad! Don't touch my iPad! you need a managers password" or something like that. She gave directions to her employees loudly and n a condescending manner. Two of the other employees were also arguing about something ("it was not your fault") while cleaning the store. Loudly. It is very unpleasant for customers to overhear all the employees arguing and the manager yelling at people. I actually said something to one of the employees afterward, and would've spoken to the manager but she was not available when I was leaving. read more

We really enjoyed lunch here! We ordered 6 sandwiches after moving for our crew and everyone enjoyed what they had. I liked the option of getting thinly cut bread as that's my biggest complaint at most other sandwich shops. I got the Greek Mediterranean chicken sandwich and it was the perfect balance of chicken to peppers to feta for good flavor. A friend got the pizza sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed this option! This place has a nice variety as far as food goes. But let me inform you that the wage is $10/hr for hard workers, no matter the level of experience. BIG ONE ! Staff does not get their tips ! IF there are cash tips, staff can only use the toward a discounted meal and if not they receive no tip at all. It goes to the company. Even IF someone was to tip $50 on a catering delivery, staff only receives up to $20 and the rest goes to the company. You get paid the same wage throughout. This is with not being compensated for gas or mileage use on your own vehicle. I feel like the Franchisee simply takes advantage of people desperately in need of work. read more

Just waited an hour fir an expensive salad that when it arrived was terrible. Greens were brown on ends and wilted. Cherry tomatoes were not ripe, cucumbers were soggy and the croutons were stale.
