Pretty weird but also pretty good quote cheesesteak sandwich! The place was surprisingly empty at 6 pm

For our lunch meeting, we had Panera catered & delivered to our office. We ordered a variety of sandwiches, Caesar salad, Asian salad, fruit cups, cookies, and chips. The salads were really fresh (no wilted lettuce). I especially loved the Asian salad. I had the chicken salad sandwich and enjoyed every bite of it. For dessert, I had a fruit cup and a chocolate chip cookie. The food was great. Panera did a wonderful job putting together our order. The food was nicely packed and displayed. The delivery guy was punctual and courteous. Definitely recommend Panera for your catering needs!

We don't live in Durham but when we are at Duke/or the area, we LOVE stopping by here! I love their store manager, their attitude and helpful nature. That said, I love Panera- the breads are delicious, the bagels are fresh and the coffee is pretty darn awesome! We get the usual assortment of bagels- Asiago, everything, Cinnamon crunch and occasionally a kid will get chocolate chip. The cream cheese is reliably delicious and the fresh sliced and toasted bagel is signature for yum. The duets for $5.99 is an unbeatable price for soup, bread and a half grilled cheese. The chocolate croissant is unbeatable and that orange scone was a carb lovers paradise. I dislike when people look down upon supporting chains- chain stores are owned by locals, our very own local employees who know the area, who smile, help and just make it all so worth it. We will always stop by.

Solid Panera choice. The subscription coffee is my favorite part -- Panera has great coffee! Their app is easy to use and they are perfectly set up for COVID-era ordering. They have both indoor and outdoor seating available.

I ordered mine on pressed focaccia bread and everything from the juicy crispy chicken to the parmesan cheese and toppings was top notch. Each of the flavors and textures played so well together that it's hard to stop eating after taking the first bite. Came on a Monday around 1pm and there was no line. Inside the shop was a classic deli where you order at the counter and then browse the various goods/merch while you wait. Service was fast and the sandwiches came out within 5 minutes of ordering. There are a couple picnic tables outside to sit and eat but other than that, mostly a to-go place. First timers: get the Uncle Primo's, you won't regret it!

I got half an uncle primos chicken cutlet sandwich ($11). It was a lot of food and was loaded with chicken! Even just the half sandwich was too much for me to eat at once. While it was tasty, I did feel like it was missing something, and personally didn't find it to be worth the wait. But if the line were shorter in the future I'd come back and try other yummies from the menu.

As you enter there is a sign that tells you to go look at the menu board, pick out your drink, and go back to the counter to order. I grabbed a diet coke, and ordered a Common Cobb. I was a bit surprise when my total came to $18, as my salad was only $14 but I guess I should have paid attention that my bottle of soda was over $3. How much are the fountain drinks, I wonder? I found us a table inside since it was a bit hot that day (there is also plenty of seating outside AND inside if you go downstairs). The table and floor were messy but someone quickly came to clean it for me. They called our names over the loudspeaker and my best friend went to go get our food. She got the MotherClucker. Our food was REALLY good. If you like Cobb salad, you will definitely like this one. The chicken was pan seared perfectly, the vinaigrette was perfectly tangy and the bleu cheese was especially excellent. My friend's chicken sandwich has SO MUCH chicken salad on it. Impressive. There was so many neat items to see in the place. The murals were great, there were some cute retail spaces, a coffee bar up front, a bar downstairs, and ice cream outside! Unfortunately my bestie and I had too much to talk about so we didn't check it out as much as I otherwise wood. I would definitely try this place again!

We enjoyed sitting upstairs where we could all sit together and watch the scenery while eating. The kids loved the space, and it also provided us with some privacy for our birthday celebration. The scone was very good. I was a bit disappointed with the smoothie, though. I was expecting it to be flavorful and naturally sweet due to the mangoes and pineapple as well as the honey that was supposed to be added, but it was quite bland and not flavorful at all. The time was supposed to be 10-20 minutes. It turned out more like 40, and no one seemed to notice that it was taking too long. The place wasn't full by any means. The turkey sandwiches were dry--minimal mayo and a couple of halved cherry tomatoes instead of slices. The turkey was tasty, but far too thickly sliced for my taste. Overall meh. My son had a burger which he said was huge but terribly overcooked and dry. (The order form does ask how you want the burger cooked, and I'd chosen Medium). Again, just a drop of sauce. Barely edible. The smoothie drinks and house made chips were good. But not enough to compensate for the sandwiches. Sorry!

We arrived around 5:45pm, and there was ample parking, but I will say the place was HOPPING by the time we left at 6:30pm. The decor is very cute-- old-style, good seating and a bar area as well. You order at the table, and food comes to you. My dining mate got the Cypriot (Halloumi, Fig, Arugula, Tomato, Pesto) with a side of curly fries, and I wasn't very hungry so I got the Beyond Meat Chicken Tenders kids meal with a side salad. I also got a delicious bottled sparkling lemonade. Service was fine-- food comes after order, but you're mostly on your own once food is delivered, as expected. We got a couple of napkins with the food, but there are more self-serve up in the counter. Just don't expect someone to check on you or anything. The food was GREAT. My dining partner loved her sandwich (commented especially on the fig spread) and fries, and I really liked my meal as well. The side salad was surprisingly delicious, especially the addition of pickled red onion. The place was clean-- I went to the restroom, too, and everything was stocked well. Price was very fair. They make cookies, pastries, breads (pan loaf and hand-formed ones), soups, hand pies, and sandwiches. The variety is amazing. During the holiday season, they offer larger pies and have various seasonal goods to offer. But what's also wonderful is this bakery gives back to the community in many ways. During the height of the pandemic, they offered free bagged lunch to anyone who needed one. They also were (are?) part of the pilot project for Durham's guaranteed income. It looks to me that the owners/company are concerned about being good citizens of the community and that's a great thing. These days, so many companies get bought out by private equity companies. I hope this bakery continues to be locally owned and operated! (Also, generally this bakery isn't offering the very fancy European/European-ish style pastries which is fine by me. The prices are very reasonable, possibly in part because they aren't trying to make their baked goods a "high end" item. There are other good local bakeries that offer "high end" pastries, but they are also much less affordable and for my taste, too rich.)
