    Panera in the desert.

The first thing I noticed was excellent customer service. We were greeted with a smile upon entry. The restaurant was very clean. Our meals were quickly prepared and served. Everything was delicious. There is ample parking surrounding the restaurant.

Am I being a jerk? If I'm paying $10 for a bowl of soup I want that cup filled up! Tastes really good tho!

I got the broccoli cheddar bowl of soup. I'm not gonna lie. I'm feeling like a little bit cheated to spend $10 on a bowl of soup and not have it filled up to the top. Tastes great tho!

Ok when did a bagel and cream cheese become $9.40? This floored me. Not only that, I went through the drive-through so they don't even put the cream cheese on the bagel - you have to park and spread the cream cheese on it so it's not even convenient when you're driving through. They gave me three cream cheeses, which I didn't need, but the texture of the bagel was not like the texture of a real bagel. I got the Asiago and it was horrible. So I threw it away and went to Starbucks next-door ordered a tall latte and a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich that came out to $10 .

This place was very clean, and had very friendly customer service. Was greeted as soon as I walked in. Cristal the cashier gave me great recommendations for what to eat.

Food was delicious but a bit pricey. I had a Toasted Italiano & hubby had a Tomato Basil BLT.

"You Pick Two" - Creamy Tomato Soup and a Tuna Fish Sandwich on a roll.

I often like to stop in at a Panera Bread when I'm on the road because they have reliable, tasty and healthy food for a reasonable price. This particular location did not disappoint. I typically order from the "You Pick Two" selections, as I think that works out best. This time I ordered a tuna fish sandwich and a bowl of creamy tomato soup. Everything was delicious and the service was fast and courteous.

No bagels. And the other bread options are extremely minimal.

It's 7:30 am. This Panera has no bagels. This doesn't make sense. And the girls behind the counter look as they don't give AF.

Perfect dinner after a hard working day

Sandwich ham and cheese. The ham was spoiled. Manager saw the sandwich: no apologies were forwarded. Sandwich was redone.

Friday's special was 2 tacos Dorado rice and beans, or an asada quesadilla with a side of consome for 12.99. You are recieved with complementary chips and salsa which were delicious! I am looking forward to visiting again before I head back home.

Don't you just love it when a restaurant gets things right?…read more Owners Roberto and Rina ("Reina") Perez have figured out how to prepare and present home cooking in a commercial setting, and, in doing so, have shown that they understand the importance of "home" in that construct. Some of this is no surprise to me. Reina is cousin to Rodnia Attiq (nee Navarro), who, with her mother Rosario Sotelo owned San Diego's El Borrego for almost 25 years, until they closed their business at the end of 2025. Having been welcomed and fed many times with homely care at El Borrego, I'm not surprised that the family connection - and the warmth and hospitality included in it - extends to Cousin Reina. If you're having a bad day, it's worth dropping in for a bite to eat just so you can say "hi" to her. Between the food and the greeting you'll receive, you'll leave feeling better about things. So what to eat? Depending on the time of day and how hungry you are, you'll be pleased with Cazuelitas; Pozole Rojo or the herby Guerrero-style Pozole Verde; hearty Tlacoyos; large Enchilada plates; or probably my favorite Mexican dish, Mixiote de Borrego, which is lamb that's spiced, marinated and slow-steamed until it falls off the bone. I've eated most of those things and seen the rest on my fellow diners' tables. Especially now that El Borrego is gone, if El Centro wasn't a two-hour drive from my house, I'd be a regular, so that I could continue sampling the superb and wide-ranging menu at Antojito Como En Casa.
