The food is fresh. The manager is attentive. Here's my experience: I ordered through the self-checkout which was pain free and easy. The payment was easy, too. Sometimes this can be a hangup. I grabbed my buzzer and sat down. A couple minutes later my meal was ready and everything was perfect! I was able to customize my sandwich at the kiosk, so seeing the results was pleasing. When I grabbed my plate from the counter, my sandwich top fell to the floor. I think I was in a hurry and moved the plate too fast. The manager immediately noticed and orchestrated a new sandwich top to be delivered to my table. I didn't even ask! World class service here. The manager was in the middle of an employee meeting and helped me out. I can't expect anything better than the service I received today. Thanks Panera! read more

Arrival:As my husband, daughter and I walked in this morning we were really excited to come in and grab one of there cinnamon crunch bagels. The time was 8:00am; upon arriving there was only one other customer in line, when it was our turn to order we were not warmly greeted. In that cashier Shawanda looked like she hated her job and she didn't even want to be there. The restrooms: After we ordered my daughter needed to use the restroom so as I took her back there, we quickly realized that the bathrooms were dirty. It looks like it maybe had a quick wipe down but that's the extent of their cleaning. The toilet paper wasn't even restocked. But it was my 2 YEAR OLD that pointed out how gross things were. The drink station: as I went to fill my fountain drink I realize that they did not have lids so I walked over to ask one of the employees who must have just got off of a smoke break because she wreaked in cigarette smoke, her reply was oh we must be out of those sorry and walked away... after getting my drink a few moments later I realized my I see two year old needed a few napkins and at that same drink station there weren't any. Then as I sat down to drink my hibiscus lemonade it was incredibly watered down. The booths: are sitting area I don't feel was wiped down and in the cushions of the seat was food from a previous Diner that side at this booth. My daughter tried multiple times to clean the creases of the cushions out, if that goes to show you how unclean it is. Overall: was my experience good here absolutely not. Did my bagel taste good of course it did. The sandwich my husband got which was the egg white avocado sandwich was disgusting. It lacked any flavor and quite frankly looked gross. After this experience I would not recommend eating here ever. If you're going to try Panera Drive the extra 15 minutes and go to Vacaville where their staff is friendly and there restaurant is cleaner. This location hands down needs to be closed.... or at least better management to take care of all of these issues. read more

This was my first time in Panera and the staff dutifully chimed out "Welcome". I didn't understand how their process worked since there were kiosks, order counter, but no menus. The girl behind the counter, although, she was nice, was NOT VERY helpful. She did try to read a prepared list from behind the counter of the items I asked about. The menu overhead only stated the name of the item, but no description. It seemed that maybe she had not worked there very long or not experienced enough. She did not have a name tag on like most of the other employees in the eatery. Counter girl was nice, but actually made things so much more confusing! Once I finally placed order, I stood and waited because I didn't know you have to go to the back of the eatery to get your food. Counter girl finally told me to go look for my name on the ipad for my food. After standing and watching the board for my name, the kitchen staff told me that my name would not appear on the board since I was eating in the facility and they would call out my name. Oh! Finally, got my food which was 1/2 sandwich and Asian Salad. HaHaHa...the Asian salad was a huge bowl of lettuce with less than 1 tablespoon of minced dark chicken and TINY sprinkles of crunchy topping on top of the huge bowl of lettuce. I got 2 containers of sauce which were only 1/2 filled. Big disappointment! The sandwich was slapped together like a bad cafeteria line ensemble, but didn't taste too bad. My friend ordered a bowl with broccoli, chicken and mostly brown rice. However, she is a very small eater and the size of this bowl was small enough for her to finish. Not sure what size the 1/2 bowl portion would have been, but this seemed like a 1/2 bowl portion. The best part of this experience was Artrice Helton. She seemed to be very enthusiastic about her job, helping the other employees, and knowledgeable about the Panera product. This place is really consistent. I come in here often since lately I've been watching what I eat. I picked up the You Pick Two meal for this go around and go the Fuji chicken apple salad and the broccoli cheddar soup. It was delicious. The soup is always nice and warm and tasty. This was the first time I've had this salad and I really enjoyed it as well. The only small gripe I have here is the employees are hit or miss. Sometimes they're super fantastic and then sometimes it seems like I get the worse of them who don't seem to want to be there. Overall, I enjoy this spot for a quick salad and soup fix! read more

It was a really busy Saturday, so there was a lot of customers. We waited a while, but we didn't really mind, we were patient. But when we received our food, the worker told me to see Tania after and she said don't worry it's good. We didn't know why, but I was just went with it. So after we ate, I went up and then Tania the manager apologized for the long wait and then offered to refund our whole meal, and the next visit my meal is on them! God blessed us with a free meal and great customer service :) read more

You can never go wrong with their broccoli cheese soup. I have a hard time drinking their iced green tea. It taste so bitter and every time I order it I force myself to like it. After taste for me feels like tooth paste touching the rim of your teeth. I don't really like the taste but everything else here is fantastic. The dining is very clean and environmental friendly. Great for kids! Can be pricey that's why I always get the half deal just less than $10. I love coming here and there's free wifi! read more

The counter person was very nice but the kitchen staff was lacking. There were two orders ahead of mine that both consisted of a half sandwich and soup and it took 20 minutes for those orders and mine also consisting of 2 1/2 sandwiches with soup. They seemed to have to discuss everything they were doing prior to making the orders. Since you can see them working my observations are based upon my SEEING their interactions first hand. My salad was so small that the manager had them give me a side of lettuce and my steak sandwich was more of a snack, not a half. It was as if a single slice was cut into a 1/4. I've been here for lunch twice now and both times the line to order was out the door (literally)! Once you place your order, you find your own table, which could have been a problem both times since it was so crowded, but we got lucky each time. The first time I ordered the steak chili, which I thought was pretty good. Today I went there and ordered the Thai Chicken Chopped Salad, which was yummy! My husband ordered the Smoked Turkey Breast Sandwich w/ a Chicken Noodle Soup. He said it was pretty bland. My daughter had the Sierra Turkey Sandwich which she liked. I came yesterday and got the low fat black bean vegetable soup. It tastes AMAZING! The smoked turkey on country is really delicious as well for the YouPick2 deal. The portions are a good size if you go with this deal. The regular meals are bigger in portion sizes. The employee at the cash register was really nice and she actually typed my name in correctly! (I always get asked if my name ends in a "y.") But that's not why I love this place. haha I love it here because they sell healthier foods, such as sandwiches, salads, and soups. They do have a disadvantage. A lot of the food has higher than lovely amounts of sodium, which can be really bad for those with higher than normal blood pressure. But there are some good sandwiches with good amounts of sodium in them. They have the nutrition values online. It is quite handy looking for something good and healthy to eat. At least here, you can eat your veggies without adding too many calories instead of eating at Wing Stop, Carino's, Chevy's, or Panda Express, among others, where there aren't as many veggies in their meals. I drink lots of water when I go out, and it helps a lot! Also, another disadvantage are the high calorie sweets and pastries. Not really healthy, but Panera is a bakery and sandwich, salad, and soup shop. That is what they sell. I ordered to go and the food only lasted about five minutes from order to brown bag. It was pretty quick. The restaurant isn't as busy during the evening when I came. The parking isn't too bad around here. If there is no parking, just park somewhere near Barnes and Noble and walk it. Walking doesn't hurt. I noticed they have a small kids menu, but the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are made with whole grain bread! Win. And they have organic milk, yogurt, and apple juice. Double win. The grilled cheese sandwhich has organic American cheese and whole grain bread. That's pretty awesome. I honestly can't wait to eat here again. read more

Sorry to say this location has gone way downhill. One visit our salad was delivered with brown avocado and wilted lettuce. The next visit (I believe in second chances), out of four orders, they were out of over half the ingredients for the salads and sandwiches ordered. The last visit, I ordered goodies for a party over a month in advance. Double checked that the order would be ready as ordered one week before pick up and then day before pick up. When I arrived, most of the order was incomplete and what was ready wasn't what had been ordered. I was told, oh, we only baked one of those fruit rolls today ‍‍. Customer service was completely lacking and our brunch for 70 people was missing most of the pastries we had ordered well in advance. This used to be a great location; that is no longer the case. Fairfield Panera, thank you! You truly made my day a little better. I am 7 days post-op and am very limited to what I can do for myself. Not feeling well today but needing to eat to take my meds, I felt like a soup would be nice. Wanting to place my order online but the website said they were out of soups. I called the restaurant to verify that was correct and they nicely told me no, they did. To try and refresh the website. I did so, feeling a little irritated that I couldn't order my soup, I figured I'd place a order for the same item twice and ask in the special instructions to have them replace one with a soup. After placing my order, I called to ask if they could be done. I believe the very nice lady's name was Shawanda, very apologetically said they couldn't do that. But she would throw in a soup for me. A little hesitant I didn't want to accept at first but she reassured me it was alright. I was very thankful with Shawanda but the real surprise came when my order arrived. In my bag was 2 half sandwiches (as per my order), a soup, a French baguette AND a chocolate chip cookie. Shawanda, thank you for making my day just a bit easier. This Panera is probably the worst location. I have yet to get a call back from their managers. I placed an order online a little before 6:20 pm Saturday evening online says 6:40pm is ready for rapid pick up. My sister who was picking it up arrived at 6:35pm and waited she even saw the order be prepped. 6:50 comes around still nothing she ask the worker there is my order ready and their response is it's coming. As my sister see other orders getting picked up she still waited 7:15 pm still nothing. She ask the worker what happened to the order. Their response was sorry we are out of flat bread. Really? You could tell me this 20-25 mins ago when I asked where was my order? The work say did you want another item as replacement so my sister said what do you have the worker said there is two items on the menu ironically one item was the one we order that they ran out of so why would u offer that item when you don't have it? What pissed us the most is that nothing was offered as compensation, no refund, and. I contact from the store. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS LOCATION! They are independently own so corporate won't even help you. We will never go to this location again. Don't call it rapid picked when you can even do it. read more

This was $9.19 and what I got was about a smidgen more than a measuring cup of soup. It had lots in it, lots of fresh spinach, but surprisingly small portions. Maybe a little pricey but I think the price reflected the higher quality. I travel for work so have eaten at a lot of different Panera's over the years. They are usually extremely consistent with quality and customer service. This place, however, misses the mark. Almost every time I have ordered to go from this location something has been wrong or missing from my order. It is clearly listed on the receipt correctly but not put in the bag. Most of the times it's the sides or pastry. If I go in to pickup I have to check every item to make sure everything is there. This takes time for something that should take seconds. I just ordered delivery for the first time and I'm missing my sides again! They always fix the mistake but I either end up wasting time or just going without whatever I ordered because it is inconvenient to go all the way back to the store. Normally Panera is a relatively good place for lunch with many choices. I had the Caesar chicken salad with flakes of chicken loaded with Parmesan cheese and found it very unsatisfying. Also the staff used to actually bring the food to your table once ordered , they no longer do this. It means the patron needs to make multiple trips back to get condiments. Also when paying there is an option for a tip. Why would I want to give a tip when I have to go to the counter to pay, then go to the counter to pick up the food, then pass the table? I love Panera but this location seems to always mess up my order somehow. Today I ordered half Mac and cheese and half turkey sandwich and the sandwich I got was pastrami. I work next door and was able to go back in and have them correct it. HOWEVER, they still ended up getting the order wrong. I asked for white cheddar to be added which it clearly stated on the ticket and they completely forgot to put it on the sandwich. The worker that was assisting me seemed really put out by my request to add cheese like I paid for so she just threw a couple pieces into a cup and gave it to me. Honestly you would think that 4 months into the modified way of serving customers they would improve. Yet again I have been horribly let down by the Fairfield location. Last time every single thing on my order had been messed up, and most of it was dietary requirements. Now today, I think "Hey, it's my birthday, Panera is delicious, and look, they have curbside and so in my high-risk state I can get food and not have to risk my health to get it!". 45 minutes later, my UP2 is definitely done (seriously, even busy it takes 20 mins Max to bust out a simple order)and yet I have seen countless employees wander through the dining area, go on break, etc. Still no food. So I call, which should work right? The signs say that I followed all the instructions and I should have seen my food by now. "The number is written on the sign so I'll just call and make sure they've even got my order", sometimes mobile ordering goes wrong and I understand that. It was IMPOSSIBLE to get ANYONE on the phone for 15 mins. Now, again, as a high-risk individual I'm desperately trying to NOT have to go inside, but since no one can answer the phone when you press for a team member, I pressed for catering and IMMEDIATELY got someone to answer in the Managers office. This was AFTER I already had to walk in there and discover my food bag (receipt stapled and ready to go) sitting out on a table, not even in the Rapid cubby wall, just hanging out. I, even more irritated than before, grab it and go. I informed the manager that after 45 minutes of wondering, no ability to communicate without entering the building, and as a result being forced into doing something that put my health at risk because there was no alternative to finding out what happened with my order (and I couldn't wait since at that point I had to leave the parking lot for an appointment that I ended up being late for anyway) it was extremely disappointing to have such a truly miserable experience at the place that's supposed to be known for hospitality. Honestly I doubt I will EVER bother with Panera again. Wish it wasn't harder to just get a refund. read more

Went back here for the first one in a while. First the good. It looks pretty and nice inside. A lot of thought went into remodeling the place. However... the menu seems quite limited and if you are looking at the board you need staff to describe what item has in it or you have to seek the menu. They no longer bring you food, you have to go get it from the pickup window. Tables are less attended to as the staff no longer circulate. What used to separate Panera from other sandwhich shops was not just the food but some service. If the cost is still the same, then here is less reason to go. I like to be served. First time trying Panera and was really looking forward to it. The staff was amazing, unfortunately my sandwich was horrible. The bread seemed damp, the lettuce was wilted, the cheese was so hard and the turkey, OMG, it was chopped up or minced and damn near frozen. I almost threw up. I tried to fix it up to my liking, but sadly the damage was done...had to throw the entire sandwich away. I think I'll try their salads or pizza next. Still gonna give them a try. read more

I absolutely love this Panera Bread location. The staff is always friendly and always greets you with a smile. I've never been inclined to write a review for this place until yesterday. Yesterday was the first cold day in quite awhile, and on this particular day it was incredibly busier than usual. I just wanted to commend the staff on a FANTASTIC job. As I stood there waiting to pick up my soups, impatient customers were rudely complaining to the staff about the wait for their food, and yet the staff kept their cool and did the absolute best they can do. I work for a coffee shop so I completely understand the emotions that these employees could be going through. The employees behind the counter were sincerely apologetic and still provided quality food in a decent time despite how busy the store was. Props to everyone who worked on the night of October 12, you guys were ALL fantastic and I appreciate your hard work! Now back to a "regular" review... The food, my favorites: Broccoli Cheddar Soup, Creamy Tomato Soup, Chicken Caesar Salad, Tomato Mozzarella Panini, and the oh-so-incredibly-heavenly-delicious Cinnamon Crunch Bagel. This is a perfect place to study! I come here all the time. I think of it as a cozier starbucks with more food options. There are plenty of tables with outlets nearby so plugging in is never an issue. The staff is very friendly and really go out of their way to ensure your stay is pleasant. There are several options of coffee to choose from and you get unlimited refills! They also have a full barista bar for those who prefer lattes, smoothies and such. The food here is excellent as well. A lot to choose from and great variety. There is a "pick two" option where you can combine two items - salad, soup or sandwich.
