Looking to grab a decent meal with the family, with soup and Mac and cheese, salads and sandwiches on the mind, so Panera was the choice. When we arrived the kiosk 'greeted' us at the door. So we proceeded to order only to find out they were out of greens for their salads and sandwiches...which is largely why we went. Place was a little rundown and dirty. So we ordered and settled for what they had. Paid $18 for 1/3rd a bowl of Mac and cheese! Crazy! Then, went to get soda only to have the machine out of ice and the soda all warm. Then, 20 minutes to get food in a place with about 10 customers was not bueno! Had a late lunch yesterday at Panera on Council Tree. Restaurant was clean, employees were friendly and food was ok. However the prices are a little high. Got the Pick 2 which was a half of a Frontgna sandwich and a cup of soup - total over $15.00!!! Yikes! Oh yeah - and a beverage was an additional $3.49. Are you kidding me? We are frequent Panera customers. I go in and get my coffee and usually we get bagels once a week. Sometimes from this location, other times from the council tree location. Now here's the problem. When we order bagels sliced and delivered, they are most often horribly sliced like shown in the photos. There's no way to toast these bagels with the top sliced off. Please don't ruin your customers' bagels by slicing them like this! We'd appreciate if you could take a bit more time to slice them evenly instead of chopping off all the crunchy cinnamon and leaving me with a thick bottom bagel that'll never toast evenly. Delivery is a hit or miss. I ordered a chocolate chip bagel only to get a blueberry. I ordered a large coffee only to get a medium. I always get the same thing from Panera-a chicken noodle soup in a bread bowl and today I unfortunately found multiple plastics in my soup. I took it up to the counter and the manager on the line immediately gave me a new soup, a cookie and a cash refund. Parking here is VERY difficult, but I know that is not really a problem that Panera can fix. I really do not understand when people base their ratings off of parking...the business cannot control their parking situation when they are part of a lease in a shopping center. But just warning you, during the lunch rush hour, you probably will not be able to find parking - most of the parking is marked specifically for the bank next door. Panera is pricey, but it just tastes so good! I always get the pick 2 with half of a tuna salad sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup or the mac n cheese and a drink and that's over $10. You can refill your drink on your own, which is nice. The agave lemonade and black tea together makes the perfect arnold palmer! All Panera Bread restaurants were not created equal! This one, however, is among the better half of ones I've seen. Panera in general has acquired a lot of my money over the years, particularly when I have a lot of work to get done for school and can't spend another moment on my couch. I like their MyPanera rewards program, because it's free and sometimes you get free stuff. It seems like a win-win to me! I love their hazelnut coffee, asian sesame chicken salad, warm baguettes, etc. The list goes on, but I'm not here to talk about Panera in general. This location is a bit far from where I live, but I still find myself coming here just so I can be fed while I hunch over my laptop. The staff have always been friendly and knowledgeable. The whole place is clean and has a nice setup, but it can certainly get crowded during the rush times. I hate that they limit the WiFi during their lunch rush, so I usually go at odd times to avoid this. One thing that disappointed me about this location was the fact that they don't bring your food to you. I suppose this is just me being lazy, but every other Panera I've ever been to has had table service. Maybe it's a thing of the past. Also, parking can be a big pain if you arrive when it's busy. The first time I came here I circled the restaurant numerous times before finally getting an awkwardly-situated compact spot. Hence why I try to avoid coming when it's busy. It's never too hard to find an outlet to plug in my computer, so I do appreciate that. All in all, I'm definitely a frequent customer. I agree with another reviewer's mention that not all Panera Breads are created equal. This location proved to be the exception of those that are lesser rated. My needs were met both during the day and at night when I had to meet reporting deadlines with my job (thank you, free wifi) while not being bothered. Also, the staff both during the morning and evening shifts were very cool. Particularly during the evening when I lost track of time, the manager allowed for me to stay a little bit after closing hours so that I didn't feel rushed. That part of customer service was well-appreciated. I've never had an issue with Panera's food, so I certainly didn't have one for this location. It is located in such a convenient part of S. She behaved like she owned the area she stood in, making no attempt to actually serve the customer. As if any kind of customer service was not necessary enough to do her job. I always order rapid ordering from the app and have curbside pick up. I have sat in my car for a half hour or longer waiting on food several times. I once was sitting in my car waiting for my order to be brought out to me and in the time it took to get my food, I watched a group walk in, order at the counter, get their food, sit down, eat, chat, and leave before I even got my food. I even place my order before I leave the house and it still takes them a half hour to bring me my food once I tell them I'm here. I've been to this location before and had remembered it being spacious, with cushiony booths and a large working area. I also appreciate the variety they have for food and drinks. Mainly I was looking for somewhere to get some work done. My issue returning here was that it was much busier this time around, not the best working space. I also feel that a lot of the food/drink is overpriced, and when I was told I would get a free cookie with a Panera card it was told to me AFTER i purchased said cookie. Not a huge deal, but I'd give customers a heads up about that. I didn't use the wifi too much, but it was pretty slow and my friend was unhappy with it. Food: I love their pasta dishes, really tasty. The cookie was OK. the iced coffee was subpar but I don't expect a coffee snob to come to Panera. My car was in the shop and I had no way of getting there, and they could not deliver missing items apparently. I went to Panera for a late lunch and to get some work done with my PC and wi-fi -- overall, it's a decent lunch place, and an ok place to do work. Food is decent I like the fact that there are soup/salad combos. I like the fireplace, kind of homey, given its a big national chain. The coffee is OK. My cappuccino was not all that good. The guy didn't know what a "dry cappuccino" is. Here's what made me mad... over lunch hours, the wi-fi kicks you off after 30 minutes. GRRRR!!!!
