A pastry of choice came with the entré and the beverage for 99 cents and I chose the cinnamon roll and it also tasted good. I have been going to the Panera since being driven away from the nearby Starbucks by their ridiculous parking experience and the fact that the slackers who work there do not seem to bother about keeping their stock up. Panera consistently has its standard items, and I am always confident that I'll be able to park easily, and get the item(s) that I would like. Especially important in the mornings, when I tend to have cravings. What is a real negative here is this: after placing your order, the counter person turns the little charging thing towards you and says "ya hafta answer a question?" or something to that effect. The "question", of course, is whether you want to leave a tip for "service" which actually hasn't even taken place yet, and arguably consists of the employee just doing their job. It is actually a form of upselling, as I cannot imagine that the tips go to the person that tells you that you "hafta answer a question", but rather to management. It is an alternative to giving their employees a raise. This is something of an offensive practice and the only real negative associated with this place. My suggestion is to overcome the guilt induced by "the question" and just say no. read more

This is the most pathetically managed store I've ever had the displeasure of visiting. They are constantly out of menu items, and get orders wrong. They keep items on the menu board that they have not been able to fulfill in over a month. They are extremely overpriced for small portions of mediocre food. We have to order off of the kiosk, as the staff cannot get customized orders correct. They offer $.99 bakery items when ordering food items, but list all pastries as "unavailable". When the cashier was asked, she offered to ring them up, but charged full price. After waiting for over 20 minutes for our food, I went to the counter to ask and found that it had been ready the whole time, but the pager never went off. As we had "hot" items, I requested that it be remade, but was told that they were out of the ingredients to remake it. Stay far away. This is the worst restaurant in Gainesville. read more

Stopped by the one on Newberry and tried the new chicken sandwich, $10 is a bit high (twice both Popeyes and Chick Fil a) the garlic mayonnaise was good, a small dab in middle, the parmigian chips were tasteless, the chicken was good, not as big as Popeyes but a bit bigger than Chick Fil a's. I enjoy coming to this Panera location because it is quiet, has soft music, and has outlets throughout the store. So in terms of the other Panera Breads I've been too. This location is a slight let down. I've been to this location in the morning for breakfast and I'm the afternoon for lunch. I either go for the U-pick 2 or get a bagel. Can't really mess up a bagel unless you burn it to death and give me cancer but on my sandwiches it's hit or miss a lot of times. This particular time it was a big miss. Not only did they not have my soup available in the morning due to the staff not preparing it in time but my chicken panini sandwich seemed void of chicken itself. What chicken I could taste was salted to an extreme and warranted much need of some water. Panera in general is usually a good chain but it's gonna vary depending on your location. I've been extremely pleased with this Panera location. I don't spend a lot of time at chain restaurants, but I'm happy to be a patron of this one. The main focus of this review is about catering services. Within the past couple months I've placed two different catering ordering with Panera and both were great experiences. For the first order, I actually called the day of in which I needed catering and only about an hour before I needed it delivered. I knew it was extremely short notice and expected to be told no, but they happily made it happen! The order was delivered on time and everyone was very pleased with the spread of sandwiches, salad, chips and cookies. For my most recent order, I planned ahead and ordered online. It was a super easy process ...picked out what I wanted, chose my pick up time, received a confirmation and reminder email. I showed up right at my pick-up time and they had everything ready to go! It was perfect. Aside from catering, I've spent plenty of days in the drive-thru picking up lunch for my daughter or grabbing an iced green tea. The line moves quick, the food is hot and fresh and it's fairly priced. I definitely recommend their catering services. Super easy, fresh food and not too harsh on the wallet. Thumbs up. read more

What part of Apple instead of chips don't they understand? I guess the same part of I want a chocolate croissant that they don't understand. Six out of the seven most recent visit to their drive through for breakfast have resulted in a Botch up of my order. Wednesday they forgot my chocolate croissant entirely. When I called to tell them I wanted a replacement they said I'd have to have a voucher sent to me in the mail. In other words once they made the mistake and you called them you couldn't just go back and get it you had to wait for about your to come in the mail. The next day I told them yesterday you forgot my chocolate croissant please make it right today. You guessed it, they botched it up. They put my croissants in the bag but it wasn't a chocolate croissant. I called and spoke to the manager and she had nothing to offer other then I'm very sorry. Every time I get a salad and I asked for an apple instead of chips, you guessed it, when I get to my office there's no Apple and chips in the bag. Sometimes they don't even get it mixed up there's just no side to go with the salad. My daughter ordered a sandwich without mayonnaise and said it three times. They repeated the order back. You guessed it, mayonnaise all over the sandwich. It was most unpleasant. I don't know why they can't get it right. I've also had an experience where I'm one of those occasions that we told them they got it wrong the girl at the window laughed hysterically. I literally asked her what was funny about getting the order wrong and delaying us even further. She had no response. They are disorganized, they're discourteous, and they can't get an order at the window right to save their life. The only reason I gave them two stars is because the food in the coffee are absolutely delicious. So clearly somebody back there is doing something right, but not the management and not the drive-through staff. If you read my reviews, they're almost 97% positive. What can I say? It's a regular panera bread and you know what youre gonna get! Still really good and the staff is very hospitable :3 I would try avoiding the lunch hour rush here because it gets really really bad.... long wait and no seating inside or outside. I feel are really fewer seats here than other panera breads. Also, there are a few seats out on the patio but with the Florida sun, its just generally hot even with the umbreallas they have out. They do have a drive-thru which is really nice so I bumped this store from an average 3 star to 4 stars. But again, try and avoid the lunch rush because that line will be just as long! I woke up early around 6:30 am and feeling extremely hungry which is very unusual for me. In fact, I was so hungry, I didn't have the patience to cook anything or even start my morning ritual of coffee and NPR. I had noticed awhile back that the Panera on Newberry Road by the Oaks Mall had a drive thru. I got the Sausage, Egg with Asiago bagel which is more of a croissant which is the perfect power breakfast for me. It hit the spot just right. It's larger than most places and toasted to perfection. I am so disappointed with what used to be our favorite Panera. I bought 3 croissants and one bagel hoping for nice morning breakfast the morning after and to my greatest disappointed the croissants were so dry thats I could not eat them. The management needs to step up and work out some problems with the staff. We had lunch on Sunday and it was fairly busy. The staff cleaning the tables were moving at a snail's pace and looked about as enthusiastic as snails. My sandwich was missing an ingredient, but I didn't feel it was worth it to get in line behind the other incorrect orders. I saved myself some calories with no bacon added. The soup was good served with a warm and fresh baguette, yum. I'm sure we will go back, just hope it's a little more under control next time. read more

Came to this Panera for the third time ever. The first time I came they had run out of brownies and I was unfortunately in the drive thru which is one way so I was stuck behind the person who had ordered before me. This most recent time I walked in for my order. I ordered quickly but it still took 30 mins to get my food. That gave me a buzzer which was nice so I could be buzzed versus expecting to hear my name called out. They also have online ordering and kiosks so I might try those next time. Alas! A Panera close to my home! No more driving all the way to Archer to fulfill my craving for carbs and liquid heaven (Creamy tomato soup). I've always been a fan of Panera. Despite the fact that it's semi expensive ($5.00 for a bowl of soup, the heck?) I still find myself always coming back to the good ol' Nera. This location in particular has become my new favorite place to study. Because during finals week, the libraries on campus are packed! This is an awesome location. My wife and I arrived just a bit after noon on a Thursday, and the place was packed. We managed to find a table and after poring over the menu I got in line to order. They have 4-5 registers in sort of a semicircle so the ordering process was fast considering the crowd. Portion sizes for sandwiches (Asiago steak and Mediterranean veggie) were comparable to the other Panera in town. A small order of tortellini alfredo for $5.99 though seems a bit meager. based on the portion size (and it's nothing spectacular; get some refrigerated pasta from the store, some alfredo sauce, and parsley, that's about it).. Just one goof with the order (and it's hard to blame them), asked for a cherry cheese pastry but got a chocolate one instead. No biggie, it was tasty regardless. The place is LOUD at lunch (and a wee bit claustrophobic) which is probably their peak hour. I love Panera but the last few times at this location just haven't been great. The last time I was in, my order was completely messed up. I had to remind the guy I got a drink, they forgot my pastry, and when I went to eat my mac n cheese 3 minutes after I got it, the bowl was so cold like it had been in the fridge. I will say that I don't complain much or call about this because I understand busy and making mistakes, but I did on this one. Thank you to Laura one of the assistant managers for making it right. Consistently very good take out service, but prices are ridiculous. (I have yet to use the drive thru.) I've had excellent cashiers, especially Caroline & Gilian. The half BLT chicken sandwich w/ avocado was excellent, & the Summer Corn Chowder was very good. (They have other soup varieties that are also worthy.) The chicken strawberry salad w/ poppyseed dressing was a standout! The restaurant has always been clean & the atmosphere relaxed. Prices are TOO HIGH (i.e. $21+ for a half sandwich, half salad, corn chowder & a diet soda), but the food is nevertheless good, especially when you don't want to cook. A suggestion: lower the price of soups by selling each w/o the side of bread. (It could be an option-- soup w/ or w/o bread.) This location is much nicer than the Archer Rd one-- it's less noisy, fewer students hoard tables long after they've finished eating, & the atmosphere is chill. read more

What can I say about Panera bread except that it's my go to place when I need a quick lunch on the run?! I absolutely love their food it's fresh delicious and always served up right and the rewards system is awesome I'm always getting something for free or money off my meal! I'm a big fan of their salads and their soups have always been delicious as well. My husband loves their sandwiches and baked goods. Even the morning choices (soufflé!!) Are super yummy! The manager was horrible. I tried to use ApplePay with my iPhone, like I have done several times at that location, but when it wouldn't work the Manager said they didn't accept ApplePay.
