I haven't been to Olive Garden in yearsss, but I can say with all of the advertisement on TV - it definitely had me craving some salad and breadsticks. Olive Garden during the lunch time is busy, however we were seated in an efficient time. My mom and I decided to come today for the lunch special - unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks for $8.99! What an amazing deal! Our server Bill was super attentive and helpful. For our soup we began with chicken & gnocchi and the Zuppa Toscana. Both were very light and rich with flavor surprisingly. The salad was my main reason for coming, and it was fresh, crisp, and the amount of dressing was balanced. The breadsticks were super soft and warm and great for dipping into the soup. My mom got the minestrone and I opted for the pasta e fagoli for next round. It has ground beef, pasta, shredded carrots, beans, and lots of flavor. Service: We were treated right, with casual checks done during our meal. Waitress took our order patiently and was quick in bringing us our drinks and breadsticks. 4. Food: Minestrone soup was better than we expected, substance and flavor, above average. The menu is very diverse, it is truly an end that has something for everyone. I do believe the salad and breadsticks are the best part, I really love the Alfredo dipping sauce, luckily it is unlimited, so they refill it. I am not a fan of the marinara sauce, it seems to have changed recently, I have had much better jar sauce you buy at the grocery store. Most items are frozen, which is typical for big chains. Yet AGAIN we've had beyond satisfactory service and food. If you're still going down to Ocala, y'all are NUTS! I came during lunch, and dinner hours. Both times, I received legendary service and the waiter/waitress were incredibly attentive and the food tasted great. I did the endless pasta meal, adding the crispy chicken as the protein option during both visits. I decided to get the soup instead of the salad. For $14, or $19 with the protein added, it is an incredible value. I never felt pressured to leave, although I could only handle two plates. I had my daughter with me, and the waiter/waitress were incredibly approachable, patient, and exceeded my expectations. It's a bit pricey for the overall quality and experience but we did get 5 meals, including leftovers, for around 80.00 which at 12.00 per meal is a better deal than fast food. As long as you go in knowing what to expect, you can have a reasonably decent experience. I dined-in with some friends on a Friday night and ordered the eggplant parmigiana. It came with a side of regular spaghetti noodles with red sauce over the top. Not much flavor to the sauce and the two eggplant patties were a little thin given the price of the dish. Good thing I filled up on the endless soup (I chose the chicken gnocchi) and breadsticks. Make sure to ask for a separate bowl of alfredo sauce to dip the breadsticks in. William, the Culinary Mgr, is a liar. I spent over 80$ at this restaurant Oct 8th. We ordered 2 takeout totalling 12$ & didn't get them when we left but was charged for them. I called & spoke to William. He told me to expect a refund of the 12$ & that when I'm in town again, I could swing by & get those 2 meals for free. Being that I'm in town for Thanksgiving holiday, I remembered not seeing a refund. Pulled up my credit card statement to be sure & it wasn't there. I called him & reminded him of our convo & he basically called me a liar saying that he would never promise a refund & the food for free as well. As someone who goes to Olive Garden every once in a while and has been to various ones around the country, I enjoy many of their dishes. Over the weekend, my boyfriend and I visited this specific location here in Gainesville to celebrate his parents visiting. We had a reservation beforehand, since we were planning to visit for dinner, and it can get pretty busy. It was also move-in day for a lot of new freshmen coming to Gainesville for college, so a reservation beforehand was a safe choice. My go-to dishes here include the Seafood Alfredo and the 6 oz. Sirloin. This time, I went with the juicy Sirloin. This dish includes a juicy steak and a side of fettucine alfredo. I remember back in the day, it came with the parmesan-crusted zucchini by default, but now you have to ask for it. Both sides are equally delicious! The server was very nice and quick with our orders. All the staff were generally welcoming and overall the environment was warm and wonderful. When the food arrived, with a short wait, everything was juicy and hot. The steak (that I ordered to be done medium) was tender, and the fettucine was delicious. All in all, the experience was great, and I was glad we were able to share a yummy dinner together. My 12 year old wanted to go as we've never been as a family. We typically visit family owned restaurants. The good-we used Call Ahead seating and waited only a few minutes for our table. We stayed with calamari and it was good. A couple of menu items that we looked up ahead only time were no longer available-the shells and cheese and the zucchini pasta. Instead I ordered the grilled chicken and broccoli. Super Thin chicken and over cooked broccoli. The rest of the meals were ok. This is the place I go to when I'm craving some soup and salad! I came here last week for their lunch specials. I got the chicken parm with the unlimited soup option. The chicken and gnocchi soup is my FAV! It goes great with the breadsticks. I also tried the minestrone soup because it used to be my second favorite soup, but this time, it was pretty gross. I don't remember the minestrone being this odd before, so I won't be ordering it again. I'll definitely be sticking to my chicken and gnocchi. The chicken in the chicken parm was great, but the pasta portion was just plain spaghetti and sauce. I wasn't impressed with the pain spaghetti and sauce so I will look into trying the cheese ravioli or the lasagna next time. When I'm not feeling soul, I'll opt for the unlimited salad option. Their salads are amazing! They have the best dressing and toppings. Price wise, I think the lunch specials are a great deal, especially with the unlimited soup, salad, breadsticks option. My chicken parm with unlimited soup and breadsticks was only $10. Restaurants are allowed to open to 100% capacity now, so don't expect much social distancing from other tables if you plan on eating inside the restaurant. I would not recommend this place for take out if you eat a lot of breadsticks, salad or soup. When you order take out, they give you one container of salad, one container of soup, and 2 breadsticks, so if you eat more than one serving, you won't be satisfied. Honestly how can you hate on the OG? You can even reserve your spot in line with their new online wait list (might not be that new but it's legit) which helps cut down the time spent drinking half price glasses of wine from the main bar as you wait (wait... maybe that's not a good thing then...). Either way the unlimited salad soup and breadsticks is always unbeatable, and the gigantic chicken parm was amazing. The chicken and shrimp scampi I had this last time around was just lacking inenough scampi sauce and flavor, so after I asked for extra scampi sauce it was all good. I love that they have Table Games but beware! The game at your desk will charge you $2 to play without telling you, and then there will just be a charge on the bill. But other than that, I've never had issues with the OG and plan on being back for another binge eating night soon.
