Customer service was amazing and the highlight of one of my experiences here! The cashier and manager were both incredibly kind, caring, and helpful. The salad was fresh and had a great variety of ingredients. I also loved the country rustic sourdough loaf -- simple ingredients with amazing flavor. The chipotle chicken avocado melt is one of my favorites; the avocado and chipotle sauce add great flavor, and adding spring mix and pickled onions makes it even better. My friend and I like to meet here for lunch or brunch to catch up. It is a handy halfway point for both of us to drive, with lots of other shopping around, and ample parking (if not always right by the door). It's situated in a nice shopping center. I find the layout of this store a bit odd as when you walk in on at least one side you are confronted first with a big wall, the pick up counter, and another big panel separating the pick up counter from the order counter. Lots of seating though and the staff is usually very friendly and accommodating. I stopped by this time to get a sandwich to go for my husband. They have a lot of sandwich options, almost so many that it's overwhelming. I asked the person behind the register what was closest to a Club Sandwich and she did her best to give suggestions. This five stars is mainly for her. She was wonderful. So friendly and warm. She was working on Saturday around 5 pm. I wish I had caught her name. Thank you! My husband liked the sandwich. read more

It's Panera, so if you've been to a Panera you know what to expect. Until recently, though, I hadn't realized they served breakfast and since a good breakfast sandwich is strangely hard to find, my son and I checked it out. Very tasty bacon on the egg sandwich, kind of soggy croissant, small servings but otherwise pretty good. It'll do in a pinch. I'm glad I received Panera coupons in the mail. It was perfect for a quick bite to eat before an event with my partner. We both ordered our personalized versions of the you pick two. We shared a drink and coconut macaron. The food was good, hot and tasty. Panera usual food. We waited a while to get our food even though it wasn't busy. It's a big building with lots of seating areas, which is nice for privacy and group settings. The parking gets kind of jammed because it's in the plaza, but circle around a few times and you'll get in. read more

My favorite like the Caprese sandwich can be quite satisfying, with a good mix of flavors. However, today it was disappointing. My Caprese and wife's turkey and cheddar sandwiches were lazily assembled with ingredients haphazardly thrown on-the tomato part of sandwich belongs in a garbage pile. When my order was ready, I had my hands full with personal items and two trays. The manager was standing right at the pickup counter, seemingly not busy, yet made no move to assist me. Wanted just coffee and something sweet so hubby and I stopped in here near our hotel before heading back to Puyallup. Hubby never been in a Panera. We both like strong good coffee and knew this would be safe. Surprised the last 2-3 times I've been a Panera there's only been one muffin and one scone choice. I truly miss the cinnamon scone, but the orange is equally as delicious. Hubby enjoyed both the dark coffee and blueberry muffin. Coffee a bit pricey, it was like $4.50 ea. for med basic brew. The commercials on TV look absolutely incredible. The new dippers. Once I went to the restaurant and dried it, they were absolutely nasty both of them the chicken and the beef. I could not believe once they were served to me, and I looked at them, and then I compared them to the advertisement right by the cash register that they have the audacity to serve these almost meatless sandwiches. The sandwich sandwiches look like there was a little pieces of chipped beef on them, and the advertisement showed a big luxurious pieces of meat on them. Are you for the beef sandwich was loaded with so many onions. It looked like onion soup and that in itself tasted horrible. It's a rather odd set up. The door from the parking lot appears to be the "side door", but opens up into the order area. I love Panera for so many reasons. Their food is fresh and they have a ton of options. This location is always clean and the staff super nice as well. The app is super handy when you're on the go. You can order and just pick it up within minutes, which is great! And every few orders you earn something like a free drink, or half off a sandwich. Bonus! One of main the reasons I love Panera is their super easy catering. The breakfast set ups are great - lots of options from sandwiches to bagels. They set them up in nice boxes that make it easy to layout when you get wherever your going and always pack lots of plates, napkins and all the useful things. The lunches are great as well, super nice box lunches. I like to send the menu ahead of time, let my customers pick their favorite then I just order right from the website. Today I went to get coffee and a bakery item with my wife so we roll in to panera get into line at the kiosk, I think several people were unsure if this was how to order and were complaining there were several employees behind the counter avoiding eye contact one lady asked if she could order at the counter and one employee said yes but hold on , at this point I had enough I told them this was terrible service and I left... it falls to management to train employees to great customer as they enter even a small hi well be right with you can go a long away.....that is if your really interested in having customers I guess door dash might just replace dinning rooms read more

This is the the worst restaurant in Gig Harbor. Their food is barely mediocre and overpriced beyond belief. The Toasted Steak and White Cheddar sandwich is has 3.5 oz of meat for a whole sandwich and costs $17!! That is ridiculous. Stop giving this place your money. A "bowl" of soup is $12 and it's only one measured cup of soup. These people are taking advantage of their customer base and I will not return. Dear Owner, Donna was very helpful and apologetic when I showed her that all the tables had crumbs. Not sure why the other employees could not come out and wipe a table between customers. I think you should look into this. Every table had crumbs and I had to wipe my own table down. But of course, Donna was very helpful when I showed the photos and all the tables and did wipe the tables, but sad that a customer had to point this out. I have visited several Panera Bread Restaurants in the Puget Sound area for sever years. All of them have served great food and a menu with plenty of selections and combinations. But today's visit was over the top. We stopped in at the Panera Bread franchise in Gig Harbor near the Imax theatres. Debra was our waitress and she provided great service and, probably because it was Memorial Day holiday today, she gave me a huge discount. She asked me how many years I served in the navy. I told her 20-years, so she gave me a 20% discount. Wow, now that's being thankful for my service! The seating area inside the restaurant was spacious and clean. We were a party of four, and one of our orders wasn't correct, so the wait staff immediately replaced the errant order with the correct meal serving fast- like less than 4 minutes. The music inside the dining area was not overwhelming. It was a blend of soft rock instrumentals and classical music, the lighting inside the store was soft and mellow so the ambiance was very nice. All in all, our experience earlier today at Panera Bread in Gig Harbor was way above expectations, so I am giving them a rare 5-star recommendation. read more

Something has been missing from my order or something unwanted has been included every single time I've been here. Probably about 8 times. I really don't know why I bother coming back. No dressing, no avocado, no tomatoes, etc. The last time, my order looked great but when I actually wanted to eat it after I'd left I found that it had chicken in it. I'd ordered a vegetarian dish. I love Panera Bread but I have had a couple complaints: Last week I bought a large loaf of Rustic sourdough and it was stale ( tasted day old). I now ask if the bread is freshly baked. Next, today I went to buy a loaf of bread and except for a few customers, eating at tables, there was no line for ordering. While I waited over ten minutes, two women employees were having a chat at the end of the counter. When when I tried to flag a passing young man, I was ignored by him too. Finally, one of the women noticed me and came over. I would have appreciated an acknowledgment that I was noticed, at least. This is the only Panera Bread in Gig Harbor. I've been here plenty of times without issue but today I was a bit unhappy. I ordered a whole Green Goddess salad with extra dressing. The salad leaves themselves were a mix of nice green kale and brown lettuce, the avocados were hard to where I couldn't stab them with a fork, I got slices of tomato in stead of cherry tomatoes, barely any pickled onions, and I was the only order pending this morning. I really like the flatbreads and to their credit they add vegan toppings when requested. Having vegan options on the menu would be greatly appreciated. The non dairy peach and spinach smoothie was delicious and vegan. A shout out to the staff member who is vegan and is so helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed this Panera Bread location. The food and drinks came out fast, and the customer service was good. I appreciated that we were able to sit at our table for several hours and weren't rushed out of the restaurant. I also like that their menu has a lot of different options, and that they serve coffee all day long. Tonight we ordered dinner delivered. My husband ordered a sandwich with chips as his side. I ordered soup and a salad with chips as a side to give to my husband. When our order came they just wrote out on the bag for the chips and defaulted to French bread. They had my number and could have called to change the side. The chicken noodle soup, normally my favorite, was not great. The carrots were hard and the chicken was in larger bites than normal for their soup and there were hardly any noodles. The salad was good but not near enough dressing unfortunately. Normally I love Panera but we spent over $50.00 for this dinner after tip and delivery fee and it was just not great. Creating high traffic areas with poor flow for ordering and pick up. I had to order on an uncleaned kiosk and pick up my open (soup and salad exposed) order from an open bar where everyone else was waiting for their orders. My advise would be to reduce to 1 or 2 kiosks and deliver food to the tables so customers don't have to clog up the pick up area and grab open food. I gave up on trying to redeem my veteran's day deal because of the verly complicated flow of things. Attitudes were poor as well. I've never been to a Panera that hasn't impressed me. Their delivery drivers are all super nice. I know EVERY one of them. And those who work here are always welcoming. I went their one day, and left for a drive test. When I went again three days later they made sure to still ask me how it went. They are kind and have a very homey feel to the restaurant. Pricey, but their food is really good... Let me start off by saying that I used to love this Panera Bread location. I have been there probably 20-30 times. The last 4 times I have been there I haven't had the best experience. My grilled cheese was more like a cheese sandwich because the bread wasn't toasted and the cheese wasn't melted all the way. The service was horrible the last two times I went in there. I used to receive friendly service and the last two times the lady at the counter didn't even make eye contact when she was taking my order and then she forgot to give me my soda cup.
