When my husband asked a girl employee - I didn't catch her name, she basically ignored him and told him it was a 20oz and walked away. I asked Andre and he was very understanding, and made me a new one and apologized. I also saw him help a few other people. One of them was very rude but he handled it well!! Pretty standard Panera Bread chain location. Good service, quick, quality lunch menu and mouth watering pastry case. I really like the outdoor seating at this location, so nice to sit out on a summer day for lunch. Nice to have more food options in the harbor. read more

If you have something in mind you want to eat then this is NOT the place to go. Over and over we go to have a seasonal special and it turns out they are out, lunch or dinner. Went to dinner a couple nights ago and only 1 cashier with 8 people in line. We had the pumpkin harvest soup, which was great, but came back the next day for lunch and they were out of the soup. Why advertise your special if you don't have enough to get you through the day! This wasn't the first time this has happened, it seems like every time we order off the menu they say they are out an ingredient and have to substitute. The prices keep getting more expensive and the portions are getting smaller. As many others have mention, often tables have not been cleaned. SAD! While we like the food, I can walk next door to other restaurants and get better service, better portion size for the money, and cleaner facilities. This is a Management issue, and the manager should be ashamed of what they are doing to a quality known restaurant. read more

At first glance I should have left, it was incredibly dirty! The manager was there and seemed as though she could have cared less that the place was a disaster? The other tell tale sign there were about 4 people in the whole place and it still took them 8 minutes to make 2 Cobb salads. Don't run the risk you may get sick! read more

The food is really good; especially the Sierra Turkey sandwich. I love the atmosphere, it's a nice place to go with your laptop or to read. However, the staff there, is...interesting. Between them blaring their rap music from their cars on break and forgetting parts of my to go orders, they seem less than thrilled to be there and to be helping customers. Fortunately, the food & atmosphere make it still worthwhile to go! It's definitely worth it to get a reward card, however, if the cashier doesn't ask for it, it's hard to remember to swipe it, and once the order is rung up, you can't add it on. read more

The Gig Harbor Panera is one of our favorite places for dine-in or takeout! The food is delicious; the staff is friendly and outgoing; the restaurant is always clean! The setbacks for the GH Panera: approximately half of the time we order they are out of an item or just plain forgetful! For example, the last time I ordered a salad they were out of romaine and spring greens. While I was waiting for my food, I heard the staff say they forgot to give a beverage for a to-go order. The time before that, they forgot my salad dressing in a to-go order. The time before that, they were out of romaine and spring greens! If these errors were corrected and they did not run out of menu items by late afternoon, the Gig Harbor Panera would be a 5-star restaurant! read more

I went to panera bread with a friend and everything was okay until we were waiting for our order. The cook was very rude and was making remarks about not having enough of what i wanted and saying that she was just gonna replace it with something else and i wouldn't notice. lol i was right there. I really only come here in the morning to get a breakfast soufflé. Always to go and never for anything else. There is another location near my work so I have tried plenty of Panera's non breakfast items. I have to say that their soufflés are absolutely the best thing Panera has to offer. All 4 types are fabulous and its really too bad they don't serve them all day long. What annoys me about this location is that it can be 9 am, somebody bought all the soufflés and they wont have any new ones baking in the oven. No, I don't want to wait 21 minutes! If there is still an hour or more to go before they pull them then why not bake more? They normally bake more then one batch anyway. I don't know if this is laziness or what the problem is. Their breakfast sandwiches don't really interest me so I will just walk out if there are no soufflés. The best thing to do is call ahead and have them put one aside. No matter what time it is in the morning never just assume there will be soufflés available. Today when I went in the really nice lady who's at the register a lot of the time gave me my soufflé for free :) She said that she felt really bad about the last time I came in and knows I'm a regular so it was the least she could do. She even offered to put one aside for me on the days I come in. That was really sweet of her but its random days when I go in so that probably wouldn't work but I definitely appreciated the nice gesture! I also wish there would be more people at the register when the line gets long. Gig Harbor people really like to take there sweet time and I don't have the patience for it- LoL! read more

What can you say about Panera? Good food, when the weather is nice, it has a great porch to sit on and enjoy the little town center area that is pretty well taken care of. Staff is friendly, customers are nice and its a nice escape from the starbucks and jambas around. read more

Honestly, I feel bad for the cashiers, the managers stand behind them and intimidate them. They always seem really busy and my food is usually great. The cashiers really try to make our experience special, by saying good morning and offering good food, looking up allergies and assisting in anyway possible. I do think its sad the the managers are so rude to the employees, I constantly see them asking, what are you doing? Like the aren't capable at there job. I also here them talking to each other saying they are going to right them up. Honestly the managers seem awful. I would definitely never work here. read more

We've visited for both lunch & breakfast. The soufflés are wonderful. You can go with any available flavor & not be disappointed. They also have many lighter options like the power breakfast sandwiches. And of course the bagels are the bomb. Lunch is just as good. We usually get the pick two combo. This is a great choice because you get to pair a sandwich, soup, or salad. My favorite soup right now is the broccoli cheddar. For salads it is the Thai chicken & sandwiches I usually create my own turkey & cheddar. Only disadvantage is the parking. It is almost always full when I visit so just be prepared to circle the lot a few times to locate a spot. read more

I decided to have lunch with my preschooler, I was in the mood for soup and remembered Panera usually had a good selection. Even though it was very crowded we managed to find a table and service was pretty good. I really enjoyed the creamy tomato soup, spicy but not over the top. I like the kids menu, they serve organic yogurt with kid's sandwiches. We also enjoy breakfast sandwiches here. Great place for breakfast or lunch. read more

Normally I am pleased with the food I get at Panera, but I usually order the same thing: a smoked turkey sandwich. This morning though, I was in a hurry and did not have time to have my usual breakfast at home. I ordered the Steel Cut Oatmeal, thinking it would be similar to the delicious oats I make overnight in my Crockpot. Boy was I mistaken. First, $4+ for take-out oatmeal? Seriously? Then I should have ran when I heard the microwave. But no, I stood patiently waiting for my breakfast. Well, I got to work and tucked in to my breakfast. Definitely nowhere near as tasty as my homemade, in fact it was pretty darn bad. It was lukewarm, the oatmeal itself was flavorless, and the strawberries on top tasted like onions. They must have been cut with either the same knife or on the same cutting board, without being washed in between. Who wants onion-flavored strawberries for breakfast? Blech. If I have to go to Panera for breakfast again, I will stick with bagels or pastries. That all being said, I do like the smoked turkey sandwich. read more

Ordered the new Kale Caesar Chicken Salad to go, no Caesar dressing. 1 small bag of chips comes with this. I like their TV ads and was expecting something special. What I received was a wilted salad. The bottom layer was what looked like ice berg lettuce (not nutritious) and the top layer had kale (not enough) and some sort of bread chips. I threw all the bread chips away. The chicken pieces were what one would expect, moderate amount, tasty. I would never again pay $10.30 for this dish. One can buy a salad at the supermarket for $5 that is MUCH BETTER ! read more

I'm not one to write reviews, but in this case I felt that I needed to. I love Panera Bread, but this particular store is not a good one. Whenever I order the "rapid" pick-up, they are usually at least a minute or two late. In my most recent experience, the food was never put out on the shelf and when I asked about it 7 minutes after it should have been placed, they told me I need to ask for my food if it isn't out there. I know that is not their policy. They were out of dinner rolls (which they often are and never update on the website) and said that is why they didn't put it out. They then had to reheat my meal and essentially blamed me for the extra waiting time. When my meal was handed to me, they forgot everything besides the main meal and gave me the wrong side, even though I know they heard me because the girl repeated my request. The manager was kind enough to offer me an extra pastry because of the botched order, but the rest of the experience was a bad one. Whenever I go to the Silverdale location they have everything right and get my order out a few minutes early, so it isn't the whole chain that is bad, just this one. read more
