Pros: the view of Gig Harbor. That's it. Cons: appetizers took 20 minutes to come out. Of the three entrees we ordered, one came out after 30 minutes, the second after 10 more minutes, and the third never showed up. The waitress said it was because a cook was sick. On the harbor, sweet location. I think the entire staff including kitchen, were teenagers. That's ok, just an observation. Amazing harbor view from the dining room. Got off to a rough start. All the Panang options come 2* heat, to possibly more. The server was unsure on the range but couldn't pin it down. Never saw this before but I'm assuming the panang sauce is pre-made. We were the only ones in the restaurant one Fall weekday afternoon. We asked to sit in a booth by window. No. Can we sit in the booth across? No. "Can you just sit here?" the inexplicably exasperated Gen-Z hostess softly balked. We sat. Chastened. The fresh spring rolls were among best ever. Out of fave Thai beer but had another. I am obsessed with thee fresh spring rolls! The best I've ever had, with fresh veggies and the best sweet & sour sauce that has some delicious vinegar in it. Paired with their Thai iced tea (also the best I've had since moving to Seattle), this is a must try in gig harbor with incredible views and great service. read more

Ordering to-go online using their website was super easy. I was happy to see such a wide variety of many dishes on their menu. Anything from appetizers, salads, soups, entrees with beef/pork/chicken/seafood that include rice, noodles, fried rice, curries, vegetarian options, desserts and drinks. I ordered the Prik Khing Beef entree with a 4* spice level, and my husband ordered the Cashew Chicken with a 3* spice level. We shared a green papaya salad with a 3* spice level. I was surprised how true to form the spice level is, I LOVE spicy food and the level 4* did not disappoint. However, it almost was heat for heat's sake, with a little flavor. Thank goodness for the solid serving of rice and refreshing green papaya salad to balance the heat though. Everything was delicious and well cooked. The meat servings for the entrees in a to-go order are perfect size. I wish there was more green papaya salad for the container it was in and the price. The food was ready when I arrived so it made it quick and easy to take home. It's good quality Thai without having to cross over the bridge! read more

What an awful experience all around. My wife has Celiac (Gluten Allergy) and I am writing this review as she is vomiting because of the food from this restaurant. I called and asked if they could confirm our items were gluten free and do their best to avoid any cross contamination. The answers we got were mediocre at best but Thai food is usually pretty safe. So, despite being reassured in a semi-confident (and frankly, annoyed) manner, we gave it a shot. TERRIBLE DECISION. This restaurant IS NOT SAFE FOR SOMEONE WITH A CELIAC GLUTEN ALLERGY. Additionally, the food was not good. The rice paper on the fresh rolls was massively under-soaked and was a horrible, inedible texture. As if that wasn't enough, I nearly chipped a tooth on something extremely hard in my noodles only a few bites in and ended up throwing the rest of them away. A nearly unbelievable negative experience. Really unfortunate. Steer clear of this place at all costs. read more

We got the Pad Thai with chicken at a level 2 spice... it seems as if they forgot the sauce. There wasn't any flavoring, all you could really taste was oil. This was so much more than I expected of a Thai restaurant. It was dark outside but their view of the harbor is awesome. Well prepared Thai food served in an upscale way. Gig Harbor Thai is under new management- Chili Thai. Sadly, the food is not as good as it used to be. The moo ping (now moo yang), isn't as sweet, and unaccompanied by sticky rice. I definitely won't be ordering this one again. The pad see ew is fine, but the flavor just doesn't hit like it used to - it's missing a richness, or carmelization like it used to have. Just seems more watery. I've had Chili Thai in Tacoma for their lunch specials and it was decent, but I can't hide the disappointment since we thought gig harbor Thai was the best Thai in the area. I'll certainly be willing to test out the curries, but my hopes aren't high. Bummer. read more

With crispy basil leaves as a garnish- delicious! The pad see ew with beef was okay- the beef was not tender and the broccoli and asparagus was not cooked- very tough but I'm going rate this 4 stars since the other dishes were superb! The curry which is described on the menu as "bowl of broccoli and spinach filled with a thick house-made peanut sauce." The description could not have been any further from the description. Everything was on point and delicious, even the thai iced teas weren't that sweet but really refreshing (it was 85 degrees in Gig Harbor). On the way out got a peek of their kitchen and saw stock shelf of Thai cooking ingredients so you know they're legit. Service is quick, and very attentive. I was skeptical simply because the Thai Hut in town is so good but omg - they have some serious competition here!! First off - they win for cleanliness. Hands down. I realize their still new, but the decor is very simple yet authentic and most importantly, cleanable. Their location is great. Super hard to find parking but once inside you've got a great view of the bay. Worth the parking hassle for sure. The menu is fairly simple but has all the best stuff. I ordered the tofu pad Thai, it's my go to and the best way for me to judge equally. Three stars because I don't like to punish myself. It was delicious. Noodles were perfectly cooked, tofu perfectly crispy, seasoning strong but not knock your socks off and it was plated beautifully. I'll go again. You should also! read more

Have ordered take-out 3 times now and so far haven't ventured out from ordering the Chicken Pad Thai. Flavor has been on point each time - so good! Spice level has been inconsistent otherwise they'd have a 5 star review! First time we ordered a 3 and 5 to test it out and could barely tell the difference plus they weren't marked so we still have no clue which was which. Second time we ordered a 4 and it was SO spicy (which we loved!) Third we got 2 4s and while it was great it didn't compare to the second time. Regardless - we'll order again! Love this spot right on the water. Great view and food. Have been twice and enjoyed both times. Most recently my husband and I went for lunch. Had the yellow curry, cashew chicken and coconut prawns. All great and not much left! I do have to remember to say no mushrooms though for cashew chicken as not listed on description but they do come with them. I am super picky about Thai food and have eaten my way through the majority of the Seattle Thai restaurants so it can be hard to find one that I enjoy over here. We tried this place and were pleasantly surprised. Both the Phad Thai and the Panang Curry were delicious. Exactly what I was looking for! The ambience was great as well. I wanted to try a lot more there. The only negatives were that the portions seemed a hair small for the price compared to others. They also seemed a little short staffed, the waiter was SO nice, but he was swamped. Between to go orders, and being the only one manning the dining room and the phones, it would've been overwhelming for anyone. He was so sweet, but we just felt bad that he was running around so much all on his own. Definitely will be back though, highly recommend this place! read more

This place is sooo good! We are from CA and had lots of good thai to choose from. This is the only place we have liked in the area. Their Tom Ka soup is perfection. Their drunkn noodles and curry's are super tasty as well. Some of the younger servers aren't always super friendly but they have never been bad. Oh and the pineapple fried rice is yummm. read more
