I order online through the Panera app for delivery. My order requested condiments and when my delivery driver picked up my order she told me she saw my note and asked them if they had been put in my bag as she isn't allowed to open it. She said the woman told her in a very hateful tone that "it's on the bag to put them in there so if it's listed on the bad then we put them in there". When I opened my bag there was none in there. Then I pulled out my Fritta it was just tossed in the bag no wrapper and had other items tossed on top of my food. It was dry, cold, and looked like it was made hours ago. Then I opened my wrapper for my breakfast sandwich, the bread was cold and rock hard and it was missing half of the ingredients that go on the sandwich. It literally had just arugula and what was probably half a piece of back torn in piece on it, no eggs, no sauce, or anything else. The food was hard and gross, I threw it away.... I've been to many different coffee places and even other Panera Bread locations throughout time but I would definitely recommend for no one to come to this one. The vibe in here is super miserable. The bathroom hasn't been cleaned in a long time and it's disgusting. Then when an order is ready they don't kindly announce but instead they scream in a miserable vibe. Then when you place an order you may not even get it and the front and the ones at the back will just blame one another that it's the others fault. Then the pictures you see when you make the order do not end up being what you receive either. I was shocked to find out that the macaroni and cheese arrived in a plastic bag. Then they put that plastic bag and a tray that uses warm water to heat it up. Might as well just go to all vending machines. No more going to the register to order. Their entire process discriminates against anyone over 40 years old. This is unfortunately one of the worst Panera's I've been to. Some of the Staff is rude and condescending, while others are good. It's a shame that the behavior of a few have to affect the review of the whole establishment, but would recommend management take a hard look at some of their employees. So, a nice bonus, this location has a drive through, a step up from what they were able to do at the Patton Creek location. The person that was talking with drive through customers seemed annoyed that I needed a minute to decide what I wanted - some of us are new customers and might need a minute to decide. Also, speak up - there is a ton of noise outside, not easy to hear mumbling. I went with the pick two - salad and sandwich - Toasted Steak & White Cheddar - 4 out of 5 $11.49 (whole) - Grass fed beef, aged white cheddar, pickled red onions and horseradish sauce on Artisan Ciabatta. The sandwich was good, there isn't a lot of steak, but the half you get with a pick two is flavorful and filling. Greek Salad - 2 out of 5 $8.09 (whole) - Romaine, grape tomatoes, feta, red onions, kalamata olives, salt and pepper tossed in Greek dressing with a pepperoncini. Small portion for the pick 2 mean. The ingredients aren't the freshest. The salad was wilted and some of it was discolored. Not a good show at this price point. Also, cut ingredients so I can eat them with the fork that is provided or start supplying a knife so that things like onions can be easily cut into bit sizes .... oh and so I can finish chopping up the other stuff that you guys didn't (tomatoes). and had a smoothie as my drink - Mango Smoothie - 1 out of 5 $5.39 - Mango fruit base mixed with orange juice and banana puree blended with plain Greek yogurt and ice. Horrible! First it's about the size of a small coffee. At $5.39 it should be a full sized smoothie - even smoothie shops (which are expensive) give you better value. My recommendation, take this off the menu if this is what you are going to serve. Next, it's really not that good. Pasty flavor and texture. Minimal Mango flavor. This is an absolute no go for me in the future. All in all, not impressed. At greater than $17 for glorified fast food lunch, I can literally think of 50 places I'd prefer to go for a meal at this price (or less) that are far superior. read more

Why is it that every time I go to Panera I feel that it gets worse. I know that the supply chain and staffing are issues everywhere but if you are out of so many items - maybe you should just revamp your menu? How can you offer a green goddess salad without green goddess dressing? I tried to only order at the kiosk but the kiosk was out of cups. As I stood at the front register - 2 people in the back saw me and just ignored me. I want to give them a pass but the last few times it is just not acceptable no matter how short staffed. It's Panera so of course the food is good. I just don't know why they moved to this location. It is difficult to get into and the parking is tight. They do have two spots for rapid pick up if you preordered so that is nice. This location seems to be smaller than the old one and with limited outdoor seating and the outdoor seating is not in a great spot so I don't think I would enjoy sitting there. There appears to be a drive thru which I've never seen at a Panera before so I'm curious as to how well that works and again it seems to be very tight so not the easiest drive thru. The day I went they were very busy with everyone ordering at the kiosks. I was happy I had preordered so I could just go on and grab it off the shelf without having to wait. My food was to my liking and prepared well with all the necessary utensils and napkins in the bag. I ordered from this place on the app on new year's eve and not only did i not get the number of bagels ( i was short two) I ordered, the bagels were like half of the regular size. I called after and the lady that picked up said they had a different baker that day and I can come get new bagels the following day or get my money refunded. I chose the later. After two weeks, my money was not refunded so i reached out again on January 19. A guy picked up but hanged up after I asked whether I could speak to a manager. I called again and no one picked up. This place has been going down for the last two years with missing orders, cold bagels to just plain rudeness, like lying to a customer you will refund their money when you know you are not going to. They're currently running a promotion of free deliveries through Uber app! Takes a while so place your order one hour before you want it. Anyways, Panera is not as good as I remember. Maybe because there are so many better local options here in Bham, but hey it did the trick. And really that broccoli cheddar soup is legit. I do have some basic girl tendencies and that is mine and everyone else's favorite soup. I don't even want to know what artificial ingredients are in it, it's good and comforting. The food was fine, seeing as how Panera is mostly always good, but the service was bad and the salad I got was a tiny bowl filled with rice and an assortment of other things. Much smaller then usual. I love Panera ! Unfortunately the experience was horrible . The employee at the register had a very bad attitude and constantly made snarky comments. I ordered two cookies and they didn't have one . The employee told me to wait to see if there were any in the back and proceeded to point at the other cookies on display. The service at this Panera has gone down hill. They're often out of things and when we asked the staff member taking our order how he was, he said he was going to quit his job. The tables were really sticky and the soup we wanted was going to take "2-4 hours" to be ready. I think this is probably my last visit. read more

This is my fav Panera location. I went during lunch and ordered the Mediterranean warm grain bowl w/chicken. Absolutely delicious! It has chicken, brown rice, hummus, grape tomatoes, arugula, cucumbers, plain Greek yogurt and a few other things. When I tell you this dish makes your taste buds dance! Oh my gosh... it is very fulfilling, tasty and comforting. If you like flavors of the Mediterranean I promise you won't regret trying it. Just moved into the apartments down the road and wanted to try the local spots near my place. Panera didn't disappoint and it's going to become a normal spot for me guaranteed. Starting off from the very beginning of the customer experience here, walking in you can instantly feel the welcoming up-beat atmosphere through the music and store layout. Next is the only reason my review didn't make a 5 star. The service at the counter felt lacking of any type of positivity. A smile and a good attitude go a long way when it comes to customer service to me. I ordered the advertised pick two combo(strawberry chicken salad and the roasted turkey blt with avocado). Delicious! The combinations of flavor in both the salad and the sandwich wowed me. My girlfriend had the spicy Thai chicken salad and she loved it! We topped it off splitting a raspberry thumbprint cookie and it was wonderful! Great choice to stop for lunch/dinner. read more
