    Very picturesque

This must be one of the most picturesque Panera locations around. It shares a building with Tacos el Norte. It's too bad the outside dining was blocked off because that would be a really nice place to sit and eat lunch. Typical Panera menu. We had pick two lunches which I think has good portions. Our meal was fine. The staff is awesome: the customer in front of us (older gent wanting to know the price/size/ingredients/value of what I presume was a free dessert/pastry item and the extreme patience with which the staff member dealt with him - kudos) really took a very long time to place order/conclude business. They opened up another line for us and smoothly took our order. I also hit a free pastry/cookie. Panera -- While the nice weather continues, please open up the outdoor dining.

Ordered a frontega chicken sandwich. I picked an apple as a side. Although the sandwich was filled with a lot of chicken unlike other panera places, I got a rotten apple.

It's an average Panera nothing special about it other than the outside is very strange it looks like you are entering someone's house. It is located in a strip mall parking lot with a grocery store. I find this location to be not as well taken care of as other Panera's because the tables are always dirty so that's annoying. Another downside is that I find their menu to not be labeled well so it makes it hard to find what your looking for. But the staff is very friendly and the service is quick.

See Note: we will fix it and give you treat for mistake.

Worst Experience!!! I asked for Chipotle Chicken Avocado Sandwich and I got my sandwich without Avocado!!! They fixed it when I told them but didn't even offer any free treat which os even mentioned on their receipt which I saw after I came home !!! Don't know how they are running this place !!!

I love panera but lately I've only been disappointed. On my latest visit, I got a turkey sandwich on the worlds smallest piece of sourdough bread. I was actually speechless when I opened it. You can see from the photo, the sandwich was smaller than my hand. You can see how much the turkey sticks out. When you pay $9 for a sandwich, you expect a normal size piece of bread. I am hoping the manager sees my post so they don't rip other people off like this. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because it tasted great. Just a massive disappointment on the size, after a series of disappointments on my latest visits. This sandwich would only be suitable for a child.

    It's a lunch thang

I love this place. Only thing that would make it better would be a drive thru!!! I really need them to deliver to me.

I don't get why places say that they offer free wi-fi, yet restrict it for 30 minutes. Such a mis-leading ploy towards their customers.

Disgusting staff and customer service…read more I arrived at the Vernon Hills location at 9:35 PM with my wife after not having eaten all day. I was fully aware the restaurant closed at 10:00 PM, but I still had 25 minutes before closing. When I walked in, I was immediately met with a nasty look and no greeting. Instead, I was asked what I needed. I was then told they were "pretty much closed" because everything had already been cleaned up and put away. I told them I wanted the Pick Two with a salad and a sandwich. They had nothing but an attitude and clearly had no motivation to make the food. One of them grabbed a to-go container and just assumed I wanted it to go without even asking me. At that point, I simply said, "Just forget it. I'll go somewhere else." It's absolutely disgusting how a business or its employees could treat a customer like this. If you're open until 10:00 PM, customers should be able to order until 10:00 PM without being made to feel like they're a burden. They're lucky my wife was with me to keep me from escalating the situation further because it would have gotten much worse. I own my own business, and I would never treat my customers the way I was treated tonight.

I ended up doing the Try 2 Combo - a full sandwich and cup of soup. The sandwich was flavorful, but the filling felt lacking. I ended up taking off the top slice of bread to even out the ratio of bread to meat and I'm glad I did, because the lettuce on the sandwich was wilted. The chickpea and vegetable soup was packed with vegetables and had a flavorful broth. The bread and chocolate covered strawberry included were a nice touch and made it feel like you were getting a lot for your money. The interior of the restaurant is huge - lots of seating available. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

The restaurant is so much bigger and livelier and were so excited to see all of their success. Definitely come early to be able to try their brisket and Tony Mac! You wont regret anything you try but those are defnitely our favorites. Oh and the ribs, if you're looking for the incredible smokey juicy flavor look no further. Any of their bbq sauces are great and pair well, but we highly recommend giving their original a go because of the perfect balance of sweet, savory, with a bit of a kick.

"Old School" customer service, Hospitality and appreciation for our customers is key and loyalty goes both ways friends. I was very interested to try the food here after trying a couple items that were served at a friend's party. I asked to say Hi to the owner as a entrepreneur myself. They said they would be out shortly at my request, being my first time and spending well over $300 to try some of their dishes I was extremely insulted to see that the owner never had the courtesy to say Hello as I waited. In my world, "old school" customer service is success because without customers you have nothing. I also believe that you should always remember where you came from. The food was very pricey for the Area and not worth the disrespect I felt. After this experience I'll stay with Hecky's in Evanston where we are recognized, greeted by name and given a positive everything when I walk in by the owners Daughter, Gigi...RIP Senior. Hecky's is located North Shore with more than fair prices, above par food and traditional style barbecue. Big Ed's is in Waukegan and we paid double plus for the food and a very poor customer service experience ‍ along with overpriced barbecue and sides. I got lots of sauce for not enough barbecue. If I could have cancelled I would have but it was the first time and the last time. I asked one last time "What happened to the owner who was supposedly was going to say Hello?" They said he left through the side door because he was busy. His picture is on a large sign outside and this man was at Aldi when I stopped for apples on the way back home to Arlington Heights. Go to Hecky's in Evanston, Smoque in Chicago, even Joe's Barbecue in Hillside. Good Luck Big Ed!!!
