My husband and I went to Egg Harbor Cafe looking for lunch. I'm thankful that they were open on the Fourth of July. I ordered the half chicken pecan Dijon salad with tomato soup. The soup and salad were fresh and healthy. I'm glad that I ordered the half salad because the portion that I got was huge. My husband ordered the grill master skillet. The steak in his skillet was really good. Our server was nice and friendly. I highly recommend Egg Harbor Cafe. read more

This location is tucked into a quiet shopping center, the service was efficient and there was no wait. I ordered the seasonal menu Geneva Rosti and strawberry matcha latte. My only complain would be that the drink had equal ice to liquid in it so it didn't last long. The matcha was not very strong tasting either, the strawberry took over the matcha taste. Came here for breakfast and service was good. Seated right away, got the usual egg Barrington Benedict with hot coffee. Waitress was kind to have the coffee to-go afterwards. Usually coming here with uniform or without and a discount was added to the tab, but this time no. But it's okay. We tried Egg Harbor Cafe for breakfast Saturday morning. There was plenty of parking available and they were able to seat us immediately. I was really impressed with how friendly the staff were. Everyone cheerfully greeted us from the hostess to our server to the staff busing the tables. The food was outstanding. I had the crepe with lingonberry butter and lingonberry preserves and maple syrup. Light and airy and yet completely filling. The lingonberry flavor really shined through. Sunday morning midday, I thought that there would be a wait for a table, but they were able to put us at a table by the kitchen/bathrooms. I've dined at Egg Harbors throughout the years and the menu seems pretty consistent although they did have a lot of new coffee drinks. My Bacado (bacon-avocado) omelette was fine, with a generous portion of avocados. This came with an English muffin and diced potatoes. My companion ordered the avocado toast and they said their over medium eggs were cold. Otherwise a fine breakfast. Yum yum yum! This is a delayed review but I figured better late than never. My bf and I went here early on Veteran's day for a lovely Veterans Day breakfast. On that note, a big thank you to our service members past and present! Thank you for your service. Luckily, when we arrived, there wasn't a big wait and we got there before it got really busy. They were able to seat us immediately which was wonderful. Like many other Egg Harbor cafes, the motif was very cozy, farmhouse and we love it. Unfortunately, I forgot our waiters name but she was super sweet and gave great customer service. She immediately took our drink orders where my bf ordered his normal coffee which he loved and I ordered a strawberry orange juice. To be honest, the strawberry orange juice wasn't anything special. It tasted like normal orange juice with a hint of strawberry so I think next time I go, I'll just get regular orange juice because the strawberry really didn't add much taste wise. I also want to add that my bf loves their mugs so much that he got himself and me our own egg harbor mugs which was so nice! The mugs are well made, dish washer safe and they carry a nice amount of coffee or orange juice which is much appreciated. When it comes to the food, my bf ended up ordering a tuna melt while I ordered Matt's meaty scrambler. Both were fantastic!! My bf loved his tuna melt on wheat. He said the the fresh veggies and fruit were crunchy alongside the tuna meat which was just tender with a lot of good flavor. He normally doesn't like fruit in his sandwiches but this changed his mind, he was so happy and said he would return for the sandwich alone. He also loved the potatoes too. For my dish, I liked my scrambler as well! The cheddar cheese was perfectly melty and the heavy portions of ham, sausage and bacon was yummy! The meat had the perfect amount of crunch (thank you bacon!) and was tasty. All this topped off with fluffy, buttery eggs was perfect! It wasn't too salty and with the slight addition of hot sauce, it had the perfect amount of zing! This dish also came with English muffins which were crisp, buttery and light. The signature jam on top of the English muffins was a nice and somewhat sweet compliment to the entire meal itself. The price point is average which I didn't have a problem withZ Due to the great service and delicious food we had, I would pay whatever amount anyways. Egg Harbor has made a lot of changes to their menu which has made most of the food flavorless. Three people $75 let them know the food did not taste up to their normal standard after only taking a few bites we still had to pay for all the meals. Bring back the flavor and we'll come back. read more

I really enjoyed my meal at Egg Harbor Cafe. I got the Harbor Signature Pancakes (9/10) and they were really tasty. Not sure what is in their special recipe but man is it good! I also got a side of eggs which were cooked the way I asked, light scramble. This is quirky of me but their payment system is awesome. They use TOAST which allows you to just scan the bill and even split the check how you want. Really nice touch especially with bigger parties. Been here many many times and it's always a favorite. Restaurant is located in downtown libertyville which is always convenient. Went on a Sunday around 1130am for brunch and was told it was going to take 45 mins - 1 hour 15 mins wait for 4 people. Place didn't look that busy at the time but we ended up waiting less than 20 mins which wasn't bad. Service was typically for a breakfast place. I ordered a strawberry orange juice mimosa which was good. Tasted more like regular orange juice than strawberry but was still pretty good. I don't even know where to start! First and foremost, there's a huge parking lot out front with plenty of parking which makes things so convenient. We got seated immediately when we got there! The place reminds me of the south with the wooden decor and furniture. Our server was extremely friendly and always made sure to check up on us. I liked that the flask of water was cold and had ice in it. And the coffee pot was left on table which we really liked. The food was good. The Traditional Breakfast was a nice variety. The homemade jam was excellent. The Lobster Scamble was pretty good. Once I added the salt it was perfect. Liked the extra onions in it and the cream cheese was yum. The Ciñámonos Roll French Toast was super sweet but very tasty. The bacon was perfect. Avocado Toast was good but felt like it was missing something and would be even better with more avocado on it. The Chai Pudding was also good but felt like it did not have enough pudding in it. The fruit was fresh. The service was excellent. Loved how all the food came out together. Egg Harbor, I love you. My first trip to Egg Harbor was probably 7-8 years ago at their Libertyville location and I've since gone to Lake Geneva, WI and Lake Forest, IL. What is fantastic is that it's consistent. Every location, this one included, has the same amazing food and service. My go to order: The Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, and add harbor potatoes with strawberry orange juice. Add some hot sauce to the potatoes if you're feeling spicy. Every. Single. Aspect. of this breakfast is perfection, every single time. The pancakes have a lovely creamy lemon drizzle on them with strawberries. They taste like heavenly moist slices of lemon poppy seed cake. The strawberry orange juice is hard not to guzzle down the second it lands on the table and demand another. The harbor potatoes, they seem like just simple cubed potatoes except they're not. They're crispy, well-seasoned nuggets of happiness topped with crispy green onions. I don't always get their coffee, but I do love that they will usually bring out your mini pot for the table so you have that coffee on demand and that they have seasonal flavors. Big props for also bringing carafes of pop too, so that it's rare to have empty glasses. First of all I have been dining at Egg Harbor since 1986. I have frequented all of your locations except for the ones in GA. I have always enjoyed my dining experience here and the food has never disappointed me. My Mom, brother, and myself order to go almost every single Sunday. This has been our routine since my Dad passed away. Prior to that we would go into the restaurant and dine. This morning I went to place my to go order. I was so disappointed that my favorite menu item, Cassie's Crepes was no longer on the menu. It had been removed. I was shocked especially since I didn't have a backup plan. I've had everything on the menu, but this item was my favorite. It was healthy and I always substituted their Harbor potatoes with a side salad topped with the poppyseed dressing. The combination of scrambled eggs with avocado, mushrooms, and cheese was wonderful. I loved it. My biggest question is Why????? I don't understand when you have a great item on your menu that is a big seller why would you remove it? It's like Portillo's deciding to remove their famous chocolate cake. I'm serious. I take my food very seriously especially with the price of food these days. I ordered Swedish pancakes. They are good, but not Cassie's crepes. I wouldn't even be able to go to any restaurant and have anything to compare it to. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. It is also the most important way I start my day. This is our local Egg Harbor. I can't tell you how many plates of mini-pancakes my two children have eaten in this restaurant. So to learn that, per custom, Egg Harbor allowed LFHS students to decorate their windows (like many other businesses in town) to celebrate homecoming and community only to have the beautiful piece of art LFHS Human Rights Club created almost instantly REMOVED is devastating. This mural honored and championed human rights worldwide with flags, symbols of peace and activism, and yes, one line Pride flag. Do you know who that flag represents, Egg Harbor management? It represents my children who eat at your tables, and many, many more in this community. Instead of allowing those kids to see themselves in your window, you caved to the complaints of a handful of bigots who couldn't help but find offense in its mere existence. Shame on you. Until EHC invites the LFHS Human Rights Club to recreate their mural -- then leaves it in place for a healthy length of time -- I'll believe that Egg Harbor would rather serve bigots than families who embrace empathy, generosity and unity, and I and the rest of our extended Chicagoland family will cease to be customers. read more
