Came in yesterday and everyone was so warm and welcoming. And the food was fresh and delicious! Will be coming back for lunch everyday!!

I visited Roti on a Thursday for lunch because I heard they offer gluten-free pita and several allergy-friendly options. While the food itself ended up being decent, the overall experience was quite stressful due to the ordering process and the staff's lack of awareness. Instead of having allergens clearly labeled next to the ingredients on the glass display, they require you to scan a QR code on your phone. This made ordering incredibly tedious. I found myself constantly looking back and forth between my phone screen and the glass case to figure out what was safe to eat, which ended up slowing down the queue and creating a line behind me. It would be so much easier if they just put simple allergen labels right on the glass next to each item. When I reached the counter, I informed the staff member that I have a gluten allergy and asked her to change her gloves. To her credit, she washed her hands, put on fresh gloves, and grabbed a clean bowl. However, she wasn't very pleasant or accommodating, and she didn't actually know which ingredients were gluten-free. The biggest cross-contamination concern came with the bread. The gluten-free pita is wrapped in foil and placed in a toaster, though I'm not sure what else goes into that toaster. When it was done, the employee was about to drop the heated foil wrapper directly into my food bowl. I had to quickly ask for a separate bowl to avoid any cross-contamination from the outside of the foil. I then carefully unwrapped it myself using utensils to extract the pita. For my meal, I ordered a "make your own" bowl with saffron rice, falafel, veggies, yogurt, and garlic sauce. The food tasted good, and they also have a nice selection of teas and flavored lemonades. Overall, the food is decent, but the customer service and allergy protocols have a lot of room for improvement. read more

We normally go to cava but decided to venture out today and what a mistake that was. We arrived at 8:30 and they close at nine. The girl didn't really even greet us the bowl that she made me with measuring cups. I got three cucumbers in a $15 bowl never again it was cute inside, but there was no one there and now I understand why. read more

I would give negative stars if it were possible. Roti is hands down the worst food I've ever consumed. My husband and I stopped in on a Monday at about 2:45pm. The girl working the counter didn't even look up at us, she was on her phone. We literally had to yell hello for her to acknowledge us. I ordered a bowl with the saffron rice, chicken, and a bunch of toppings. The rice was crunchy like it was probably 3 days old and had been reheated multiple times. The chicken was cold & hard, also like it had been refrigerated and reheated multiple times. The veggies were old, soggy and smelled bad. The sauces were decent. My husband got the pita with steak, it was chewy. Service was a 0/10. Food was a -100/10. Ambiance was poor. Just a sorry place that calls itself a restaurant. We each took 2 bites and threw it in the trash. $32 down the drain. You've been warned!!! read more

Disappointing experience with Roti Vernon Hills - arrived at 8 PM on a Wednesday night and they are open until 9 PM, upon entering the workers were putting all of the food items away, I had to go up to the counter to be acknowledged and I was told that they are not allowing dine ins (even though they are open until 9 pm per their official website?) and only carry outs? I didn't even bother especially since a lot of the food was put away already, who knows how fresh it would be. Disappointing experience, the Schaumburg location is much better. read more

DO NOT GO HERE For the inevitable self loathing after walking out. I get it..it's convenient..before Covid this was a great location..now it's just tired..none of the ingredients were available ..all they had was barbecue chicken...the staff was absolutely terrible..the young man laughed at me when I asked if they were bringing out any other ingredients. The food itself looked like it was set in the sun for 3 hours and then brought in to serve.. I ordered two servings of falafel to go. The young man told me it will be 4 mins to warm up....i waited 10 mins after TWO inquiries he disappeared to the back and the register girl begrudgingly gave me one order and told me it was TWO. I'm a big fan of Roti and typically frequent the Schaumburg location. Stopped in this location when I was in the area and had lunch. If you haven't tried Roti yet, please do. My only complaint is that it's not close enough to my house otherwise I'd eat there more often. Hate to say it but I'm officially done with Roti. I usually go to the Lincoln Park location but after my last visit there when they were out of couscous and had switched to "in house" made sauces that weren't as good, I took a break from Roti for a while. So this week I was out in the burbs and looking for lunch. I saw Roti and thought "I'll give em a try again". Unfortunately they've gotten worse. There's still no couscous and now they've "split" ingredients into separate items. The tomato & cucumbers are now separate options and not as good. They got rid of the "slaw" and just offer cabbage or carrots. And the yogurt cucumber dill sauce is gone, replaced by a Mediterranean yogurt "spread" that has the consistency of sour cream and has no taste. In fact the whole bowl was simply bland. The roti chicken was tasteless and nothing had the same flavor that used to make me love Roti. It was sad to see a restaurant that I used to crave become what it is now. read more

Just popped in here for a little post-workout nosh. I don't frequent chains, so it's probably been two years since stepping foot in any Roti restaurant, which meant I was a bit overwhelmed and slow during the ordering process. I feel like the music was a bit too loud, as both the employees and myself were having a difficult time hearing each other and I found myself repeating myself numerous times (which seemed to agitate the female employee a bit, but we've all been there). They also either ran out of napkins, or completely forgot to restock the napkin dispenser - sorry to the people who ordered behind us, as we took the last two that just happened to be laying out. Other than the first little hiccup, the employees were extremely friendly and quick - we came in at the perfect time at 12:45, (as soon as we got in line, the place filled up extremely fast). Layout is clean and modern, and duh, the location is on point as it's in Mellody Farms. I ordered the "build your own" salad with falafel and tahini and red s'hug (seriously, how fun is this word?) dressing with various veggie toppings. Always appreciate how vegan friendly Roti is, and that everything is clearly labeled. Also love that I never miss out on flavor. I skipped the pita because I'm watching my girlish figure, but my belly was plenty full. The bf had never had falafel before, and devoured his build your own rice plate with ease. This is a special restaurant that lets you select what you want to eat. Pretty outstanding service and pleasant atmosphere in which to eat.

I don't know how I could have went so long without leaving a review for this place!! It's honestly my absolute favorite quick in and out grab for lunch type of place. First off I never have ever had to wait! There usually isn't a line which is insane due to how good this place is. I usually get the same thing a salad bowl, mix up the protein and what ever fixings I'm feeling that day. Always add the warm pita ITS YUMMY. The staff is pretty friendly! While visiting a sorority sister in Chicago, we stopped here for lunch due to me craving vegetables. We entered and saw a few people dining in. My friend commented that there weren't many curated menu options in comparison with other locations. I ordered a build a bowl with salad and got double the meat with harissa chicken and falafel. I also ordered a drink and my meal was 18.29. I was shocked at the price and reviewed the receipt which showed I was charged a base rate of 13.95 instead of 11.95. I spoke with a woman who seemed to be the manager and she reviewed the receipt and stated that I was charged correctly. I tried showing her that her own menu shows that to be untrue however she wouldn't budge. Since I was visiting, I won't be back again to this location but if you come here, beware! Both ladies working seemed to be newer staff and a person placing an order before me appeared frustrated about her order too. Please don't post your prices and not honor them. Also, please make the menu clearer for your staff and the consumer( double the meat) . So my business catered this for lunch and I've never tried or even considered. The chicken and rice, then fresh cut tomatoes and cucumbers was perfect. It had a pita option which I did use some sauce (honestly not sure what flavor it was white) anyway for my tastes it was good and can't wait to try out the place fresh myself. Sorry for the very Eton picture but I didn't think to post until late and it's at least an idea of the look of the rice and the chicken and the tomatoes. The workers on Mondays are horrible. Person said name was something like Nico was rude and shouldn't be allowed to interact w customers. Guy who prepared my order was also being contemptuous. Was put out that I asked for cover for to go and a bag to put my items in. Like the customers were too much trouble to deal with. Stopped in here for lunch and we were not impressed with the food. One star for nice employees and service, one star for being clean, one star for being quick and reasonably priced for the portion. Both of us got the street pita with lamb (the standard option on the menu) and it was so overly salted. There was some flavor to food, but the taste was very affected by the amount of salt and it wasn't a pleasant eating experience. On our way to our signature Mediterranean eatery, we decided to detour @ this rather new Mediterranean place. They opened back in December and I think I hv already driven by 2 of their branches. The ambiance is causal, millennial & has a fresh vibe. The place was clean because of its newness but I can see signs of subpar cleaning inside. We decided to sit outside and every table was dirty...would give it 2 stars for cleanliness. The food is pretty decent. I appreciated their commitment to high quality ingredients. The protein we chose today was chicken and that was ok, possibly a bit dry. However, the sides were well seasoned and moist so the over bowl, with the sides, sauces and protein all tossed in together made for a succulent flavor. 3.5 to 4 stars I must say that the dishes here are the most instagram worthy food I hv seen in person. Every plate looks vibrant & fresh not just in the picture but in person too. My first time at Roti and I'm in love with their lamb meatballs Absolutely delish! We were here for a weekend lunch and couldn't have been happier with the polite attentive service, gorgeous interiors and yummy food. I had a rice bowl with meatballs while hubby had the pita wrap with falafels. The lamb meatballs were juicy, spicy and just full of flavor. Infact I went onto ordering some extras. I asked for all the sauces and the staff graciously gave me pre packed containers of the sauces. Every single one was unique and fresh. In comparison the pita wrap was a smaller portion and perfect if you're not overtly hungry. While here also grab the pita chips. They taste SO good and at $1.50 it can't be beat. If I need a 25 mins drive to this restaurant to pick my food, I need to be sure my order and food inside is accurate. One time if my order is incomplete, it is alright, mistakes happen. But another incomplete order, same issue back to back is annoying. Very skimpy with serving sauces and missing hummus with the order, the food is really dry.. Second time coming through here, as family at times wants a break from the local standards. Food is not bad, I mean not great, but not bad. The issue is the various "concoctions" just don't work. My wife had a bowl and there was a watery mess in the bowl; which I think was humus? Their pizzas are a good option, but be ready for a LONG wait. I don't believe they have too many people ordering it, so they don't keep the oven warm: I have no other explanation. We waited over 20 minutes to get our pizzas done. My wife was already done with her food and we were still waiting. They messed up my son's order. He had the Spicy Lamb meatball and they put olives on it, which was not on the menu. I am very disappointed for false advertising regarding a menu item. I wanted the street Pita. The advertisement on the menu said fill with any item, And that you can add whatever fits. I wanted only lamb. The dictionary definition of "fill" is place something to the top or near top. This means that based on the menu ad I should have been able to fill it to the top with lamb. The Manager refused to follow there own signage based on a menu. There were no hidden terms on the menu going against what I saw. read more

I'm surprised by the number of negative reviews I see on here for Roti. My wife and I decided to try it tonight after the menu piqued our interest on Uber Eats. I ordered the Born & Braised Pita, and my wife ordered the Street Pita with chicken. Additionally, we ordered some pitas and hummus, dill cucumbers and tomato & cucumber (Jerusalem salad). The pitas were very large - pretty much burrito-sized - and everything was fresh and flavorful. The sides were quite delicious as well. We both feel adequately full without being bloated or overly stuffed. We will definitely be adding Roti to our rotation of restaurants that we order from when we decide to eat out. read more
