We normally go to cava but decided to venture out today and what a mistake that was. We arrived at 8:30 and they close at nine. The girl didn't really even greet us the bowl that she made me with measuring cups. I got three cucumbers in a $15 bowl never again it was cute inside, but there was no one there and now I understand why.

This was my bowl, missing feta, beans, and cabbage.

I absolutely love Roti and only have had their harissa chicken. We have a friend come in from out of town and we took her here. I am happy to say they got everyone's order right. They also have new GF pita, but I have yet to try it because of the up charge. If ordering to go on the app, be sure to look prior to leaving because they often forget things.

The Lil' Lamb. Put together a Lil messy but delicious!

Ordered the Lil Lamb for takeout with a couple extra sauces to try. First impressions were that the portion looked pretty meager and the sauce should have been served on the side, not already on top. Anyway, it turned out to be very tasty and surprisingly filling!

Just popped in here for a little post-workout nosh. I don't frequent chains, so it's probably been two years since stepping foot in any Roti restaurant, which meant I was a bit overwhelmed and slow during the ordering process. I feel like the music was a bit too loud, as both the employees and myself were having a difficult time hearing each other and I found myself repeating myself numerous times (which seemed to agitate the female employee a bit, but we've all been there). They also either ran out of napkins, or completely forgot to restock the napkin dispenser - sorry to the people who ordered behind us, as we took the last two that just happened to be laying out. Other than the first little hiccup, the employees were extremely friendly and quick - we came in at the perfect time at 12:45, (as soon as we got in line, the place filled up extremely fast). Layout is clean and modern, and duh, the location is on point as it's in Mellody Farms. I ordered the "build your own" salad with falafel and tahini and red s'hug (seriously, how fun is this word?) dressing with various veggie toppings. Always appreciate how vegan friendly Roti is, and that everything is clearly labeled. Also love that I never miss out on flavor. I skipped the pita because I'm watching my girlish figure, but my belly was plenty full. The bf had never had falafel before, and devoured his build your own rice plate with ease. My only suggestion is to avoid the seizure inducing bathrooms ... seriously, what were they thinking?

First time visiting here & it was interesting. Service was great and quick, we ordered on the app and it worked out great. Drink was yummy and refreshing. Food was different than what I have had before. It is served cold so I wasn't the biggest fan of that aspect, but otherwise was good & different! Clean and modern decor as well

Build your bowl price for salad is 11.95 but I was charged $2 more

While visiting a sorority sister in Chicago, we stopped here for lunch due to me craving vegetables. We entered and saw a few people dining in. My friend commented that there weren't many curated menu options in comparison with other locations. I ordered a build a bowl with salad and got double the meat with harissa chicken and falafel. I also ordered a drink and my meal was 18.29. I was shocked at the price and reviewed the receipt which showed I was charged a base rate of 13.95 instead of 11.95. I spoke with a woman who seemed to be the manager and she reviewed the receipt and stated that I was charged correctly. I tried showing her that her own menu shows that to be untrue however she wouldn't budge. Since I was visiting, I won't be back again to this location but if you come here, beware! Both ladies working seemed to be newer staff and a person placing an order before me appeared frustrated about her order too. Please don't post your prices and not honor them. Also, please make the menu clearer for your staff and the consumer( double the meat) . As a result, the 3 stars are for the cost error.Thankfully, the food was great and I was pleased that hibiscus limonata was offered as a beverage.

The ambiance is nice, calm and decorated for Valentine's Day which made me smile. It was light and airy, the decor and vibe I got was similar to a Corner Bakery (R.I.P) and Panera Bread. When we go the counter, the cashier was super nice and we explained to her that it was our first time here and she was kind enough to give us some time to look through the menu. My bf ended ordering a BLT sandwich with avocado and then the chicken dumpling soup on the side. I ended up ordering a New Yorker sandwich with the Kickin Crab Chowder soup on the side. Since we were dining in, we chose a booth and the cashier said that our food would be brought to the table when ready which we were fine with. In a matter of moments, they brought the food out. My bf's BLT looked like a typical BLT but we knew where the action laid is if the bacon was crunchy because (....iykyk...). As soon as he bit into it, (drum roll), the bacon was soggy which brought the whole taste of the sandwich down. As bright and fresh as the sandwich looked, the soggy bacon was a no go. My bf was disappointed as was I but he was hungry so he ate the entire sandwich. As far as the soup went, my bf said it was bland which neither more salt or more pepper could save. As for me, my soup was way too salty and just tasted...off. When I think of seafood and chowder, I think thick and flavorful, this was neither. As a fellow seafood lover, it was almost too salty and then too fishy (...never thought I'd ever say that). Same goes for my sandwich. Although piled high with pastrami and corned beef, I wasn't too much a fan of the taste of the bread or the meat. The pastrami was peppered with too much pepper and then the corn beef just didn't taste fresh. We ended our meal with the Godiva chocolate cheesecake and that was the hit of our meal. Rich, succulent and tasty...it was absolutely delicious! Overall, I wasn't too much impressed with the food. It is a bit steep in price but I mean hey! You never know what like and don't like if you don't try. Maybe one day we'll come back and try some other sandwiches but I don't think it will be anytime soon.

If you're interested in the axe throwing, enter on Milwaukee Avenue as the restaurant is in back and easier to get to from the rear. You can enter either way. I didn't get a chance to check out the axe throwing part during this visit so I won't discuss it. We met another couple and entered from the parking lot at the rear. When you walk in the vestibule, you can only enter or exit on the left as the right side corner of the restaurant is used for live music. On this occasion there was a singer/guitarist playing when we arrived. The other party was seated already so we made our way to the table. There are a bunch of tables and seats at the bar. And the place was packed. Clearly people knew the singer and were there in support. The speakers were turned up and it was hard to hear the conversation at the table. It's a nice menu and has a lot of options. This would be a good spot for our Burger Club, as there were a few options to choose between. In addition to the burgers, there were other handhelds, some nice looking entrees, salads, and nice starters. I opted for one of their burgers and asked for it medium rare. It was perfectly prepared and was quite delicious. My wife got a salad and added chicken. There was a ton of chicken in it. It looked nice and she said it was good. Our two companions ordered burgers and a chicken sandwich respectively and also commented on how good the food was. Our server was very attentive and was constantly refilling drinks before being asked, asked how we were doing, if the food was to our liking, and cleared up finished plates. By the way, their ranch is a dill ranch and is quite tasty. I'd give five stars, except it was extremely loud and hard to hear.

Why does Long Grove always feel like some magical far away place when it's really much closer to me…read morethan most places I go? It's probably because of spots like this. When my yelp friends check-in places I always take a peek and add the interesting stuff to my massive and unorganized list of anything and everything I could ever want to try... this place popped up a few times, and I do love good pastries, so I had to make a trip. I say pastries but what really sold me was the pizza slice a buddy got, a savory excuse always helps. I got there before the dinner rush. I know that because it was calm when I got in line, though the line was full. When I left the place was crowded. There are actually 2 lines. One for savory and one for sweet. So like I said, I was here for that pizza slice... and I got it. I'm not sure if they make more throughout the day but there were just a few slices left that I could see. Score! But I do want to say that the more filling pasta dishes and such look AMAZING. I saw gorgonzola garlic bread and had to try that as well... and an arancini. Everything really looked so good, I wanted it all. It's a good thing I love bread because I ate a lot of it here! Great flavor and texture on the garlic bread, I love the little funk from the cheese. Arancini was fried up nicely and didn't retain excess oil. The slice is really good. It's a fair warning that it's about 90% bread, but I understand they make their own dough here and it shows. The crust is so crispy and airy, it's a nice experience. Next up, dessert. I grabbed a Nutella croissant and some gelato, both delicious! The gelato was rich and creamy. The croissant, which they fill to order with your choice of flavors, is another flex on how good their dough and bread baking skills are. Perfect texture, no notes. Would and will eat again. Amazing atmosphere that feels like a quick vacation, and outdoor tables perfect for the warm season. Friendly and inviting staff as well, they tried to sell me on the pear flavor gelato. Maybe next time. This is a not so hidden gem of a spot and a must try for bread lovers! I'll be back soon for pasta and more!
