I only go to this location if I'm in Leominster, and craving Panera. Or, if I need to hop on my laptop to get something done. Westford is my main preferred location. Speaking of electronics, there aren't many outlets for people to use, which is unfortunate. Besides Starbucks, other coffee shops, or libraries, I notice a lot of people around my age come to Panera to eat and get work done. The seats that are near them, get taken up most of the time so it's a lost cause for productivity. I thought all restaurants had to have a food safety system, especially for temperature. I ordered the value duet, chicken noodle and Caesar salad. I burned the back of my throat on the soup because it was so hot. Otherwise, the music is low enough that it's not a distraction. I have been to this location a handful of times (it's the only one in the area) and the food is good despite how busy it always is. I have never had an order messed up, bread + ingredients are always fresh, soup is always hot, and online orders have always been ready on time. My wife and I came here this afternoon and we have been here many times but this time we were very surprised about the size of the full fuji chicken salad it had a little bit of lettuce very old, a little Arugula, a little chicken, tomatoes the bowl wasn't even half full it was rediculas what a rip off. I walked up to the quickserve kiosk, where there were three people standing behind registers doing nothing, and I was directed to go stand in line in front of the regular register, where I stood for five minutes while the couple in front of me reviewed their order several times. Food at Panera is good, it used to be a great little spot to go for a break or food, but it has gone down service wise. I am reluctant to post about the front line worker at restaurants because I know it is harder to get good help and the people who do work usually do a good job, my complaint has nothing to do with those workers, they all worked hard and were pleasant. My complaint is more on the managerial/operations side. I haven't been in the restaurant in awhile and it was bracing at how impersonal the store has become. Ordering at the Kiosk - one option is receipt, do you want it emailed, texted or printed ....but printed is disabled. Ok, not thrilled with hat but I can let that slide. How do you want to be notified - text have them call you or use their pager, I hit pager and it asks for the pager number....but there are no pagers, I ask a worker and she says they don't use them anymore....they can disable the print button, but not the pager button? Drinks - we select our drinks, nobody ordered Dr. Pepper. Go to get our drinks and there are signs on every soda saying they are out, except Dr. Pepper. I can only imagine the hassle I would get trying to change my order since there are only kiosks and busy workers. Panera tries to be a coffee alternative to Starbucks, we also ordered an iced coffee with a squirt of caramel. Do we go to the iced coffee section next to the soda machine or do we get it at the cafe section, absolutely no indication, so I go to the cafe and ask and I get -"oh I can put a squirt in a cup for you, what size did you order?(since someone else ordered, having a printout of my receipt would've been helpful). The workers at Panera are hard workers and the food is still good, but man it is so impersonal and Everyman for himself service-wise. Everything seems to be streamlining you to joining their Panera club so you can order ahead and give them your email and cellphone number....slow down Panera, we're just friends and you are trying to move this relationship along too fast, woo me with good service and personality and maybe then I'll join your little club and be a regular, but for now, I a, not sure I want to go back anytime soon. read more

Its really rough that your experience at Panera Bread can be tied to one person. But in this case it was a domino effect of people that just really didn't want to deal with people. They have set up automated ordering machines at the front, so instead of placing an order with someone or talking to someone about what you are ordering its all automated but there is still someone up front but they refuse to speak with you. I told them I had an allergy and they didn't put it down on the slip and was made incorrectly so I had to get it done over. they also charged me for Avacado when they did not even have it. I asked for a Greek salad with chicken and xtra dressing which I did get but didn't get the chicken and had to ask for it a second time. very poor service. no ice in the soda machine . soup was hot but not thick like it used to be. very poor service and they never offered me an apple or chips since I couldn't have a baguette which they put on my plate. read more

I don't understand where the negative reviews are coming from. I've been to this location many many many times and never had a problem. Staff is fine, I've never had a particularly glowing visit, but none that left me disappointed either. Food is good, albeit kind of pricey, but they do use a lot of high quality products, so. When I feel like treating myself and can splurge a little, I have no qualms about my local panera bread in Leominster. For the people complaining about the kiosks, stopping being a neophyte, it's the way of the future. Personally, I like doctoring my food and rather than make it confusing for staff, I can put it all in exactly how I want with the kiosk or my phone. Had to go inside and request my order from clerk because it wasn't even in the Rapid Pickup area for easy access. Won't return. Leominster has plenty of good restaurants that get your food to you while still hot. Let me know if they get rid of the screens we are asked to use to order. The screens take as long as a menu would in a sit-down restaurant but people are behind you. The company seemed to have fewer employees. Every customer had to be helped with those stupid screens. They were not able to clean the place. The folks working there were friendly but overwhelmed. Very stressful. Not worth the trouble. The screens make customers feel dumb but simply are poorly done. If you take a senior with you, you will hear about this for a very long time. Just tried Panera for the first time in probably almost 10 years. I got my old usual Bacon Turkey Bravo with Broc Cheddar soup and baguette. The prices have increased, as expected (I remember when YouPick2 was $7 or 8 altogether, today it cost almost $14 including a fountain drink), but portions have also clearly decreased. The half sandwich was much smaller than in the past. Also, the tomato bread now feels like wonder bread, when it used to be just a bit chewy. I got their coffee subscription and they can't quite seem to be able to get it right. It's a pretty basic concept...They provide you with a cup, you fill it with coffee and the dairy product and sweetener of your liking. However, after about a half dozen orders now, I have not been able to do this without issue. More than once, there was basically no coffee (out of four carafes!) to be had. The dairy containers are often warm and you get your choice of which one happens to still have liquid contained within it. If gas stations have figured out how to provide their customers with hot coffee and cold dairy products, you'd think a company marketing themselves as a bakery/eatery could figure it out. I also found that as another reviewer mentioned, prices have doubled over the past several years while portions have shrunk. Bad combination! read more

I've ordered from here a number of times and I'm often disappointed. On one occasion, I ordered a salad and the lettuce was bad and tasted like pickle juice. On another occasion, avocado was left off of a sandwich that had avocado in the name. The employees need to focus more on making the food and less on socializing. The last time I was in there, I noticed that two employees who were making food did not have their masks on (they were pulled down so they did not cover their mouth or nose). The pros of this location is that it is open late and is in a convenient location. Plus, when they get the food right, it can be good. I've been to several Paneras. Yesterday I popped in to this one for a bagel to take out. This Panera is located at the mall & needless to say especially busy this time of the year. I got in line that seemed it wasn't going anywhere due to people ordering meals and asking what appeared to be question after question. Of course it seemed even longer to me because I knew what I was there for and just wanted to take it with me. I did look around hoping for a kiosk to order from, but didn't see one there ..has that become obsolete? Or, do they just not have one at this location? Anyway, it became my turn. Let me add that you won't find nicer, more sincere people behind a counter than here. However, I started my quick order and was told ( nicely) that I was in the food line - I could have gone to the bakery counter. I asked for a cinnamon crunch bagel, my absolute favorite.. Sliced, but definitely NOT toasted or warmed with a side of butter. Real simple, no? I waited and then handed my bagel in a bag. I left and got to my car only to find that they had toasted the bagel - really toasted the bagel to the point where it was way over done. Unfortunately when I started to eat it I detected garlic or onion from what must have been a predicessor ... Have you ever had a sweet & buttery cinnamon crunch bagel - again my absolute favorite with more than a hint of garlic ??? Let me tell you it's not a great experience. Yuck! The last thing I was going to do was go back inside , wait in line & complain. However, those with food allergies beware. Two of us spent an hour looking over the various menu options, then placed a call to order. We selected option 4 in the phone menu clearly listed as to call in an order, only to have the person who answered the phone say they don't take phone orders anymore and refuse to help us. When this happened I remembered that my company tried to place a large catering order with a different Panera and was similarly turned down. My employer gave the business to Dunkin' Donuts instead. With the coronavirus spreading people will be eating out less and less, and ordering in more and more. Restaurants like this one that place obstacles in people's way will suffer. I like the options but a menu with limited information in small font is not ideal and makes me order something I don't like. Arg. I ordered the Fuji apple chicken salad. The portion is right. I like that have the cake rotors listed on the menu. But no where on the menu board did it say pecans/walnuts would be in it. I do not assume there are nuts in a salad. I assume the Apple would be fresh, rather than dried. These are things that is there was a real menu I hope they would be in it. Hubby ordered a turkey panini. The staff asked him if he wanted "bread, Apple or chips." He had no idea it came with it (as it was not on the menu board) and initially said none as he thought it was extra. I'm sure he bit the first person to do this so the store makes extra profit by failing to properly train their staff, or list it properly on a menu. Great variety but expensive for the size of the portions. Poorly designed as there is only enough room for 2-3 cashiers on the food side. To make up for it they have kiosks all over the place.
