Unprofessional service. Overall uncomfortable experience. My server handled my order awkwardly while engrossed in conversation with a colleague, and distracted, packed away my bagel along with the bread I ordered without toasting the bagel. The ice machine didn't work. The employees explained that it did, you just have to hit it hard (?). When they hit it hard, it did not work, so they proceeded to take it apart. However, they gave no indication it will be fixed. One of the employees used chairs and a rolling cart to "block off" the section of the restaurant where me and other patrons were eating so that we had to move/climb over the chairs to leave. Glad I was able-bodied and there was no fire during my meal, because we were blocked from the door for no discernible reason. Overall, employee behavior was so unsettling and unprofessional, I will not be back. read more

I'm going to preface this by saying that anyone who thinks this place is "fast" food is unfortunately wrong. The drive-thru gives the illusion of fast food but Panera should really stick to being dine-in based on my many experiences there but I'm going to highlight one of them. Whoever manages this place is setting themselves up for failure by only keeping skeleton crew on staff on a Saturday evening during the dinner rush. 1 cashier, 1 food runner, about 2 chefs, and a manager who appears to not know what he's doing and has no awareness of anything going on around him. The 30 minute wait for my to-go order wasn't my issue. (By the way, other customers were complaining about their 20-minute wait time and asking for refunds.) My issue is when I came back to get the 3 pastries that were missing from my order at the bakery, the cashier (whose name is Athena on my receipt) said, "Sorry about that, what were the pastries?" I told her what they were but she didn't get them for me or say she'd get them for me shortly. Instead, she went back to what she was doing with another customer. She then went to stand by the cash register with the manager who was just staring at the screen not saying anything with a customer standing in front of him. The next thing I know, I look up and she's disappeared. I waited and waited for her to come back but finally another employee walked by. I recognized that he was the guy that was running the food out to customers. I had to stop him and ask him to get me my pastries so I could leave. I spent a total of 50 minutes there from the time I walking in to the time I had all of the items in my order. I should've just dined in! The food itself is always fresh and delicious. The kitchen staff definitely need more employees since they are receiving to-go orders from both the app, the drive-thru, walk-ins and dine-in! I felt terrible for them so I really didn't want to complain about the wait time but being forgotten by Athena, the cashier, was where I drew the line. It's gone down hill since opening a few years back. I don't know if it's management, ownership, or both? My wife and I also visit weekly at this place. I would say over the last 4-6 months we have either gotten wrong food or they are missing ingredients from their establishment. 2 weeks ago they were out of pita bread (or whatever bread they use to lake the barbecue chicken wrap). Yesterday they were out of Mozzarella cheese, French bread, and Sprouted Grain Rolls. We usually order from the app, the only side that was available was chips or apples. A bread company running out of bread? I hope this reaches the correct person and this store gets its act together. I'm sure there are many more people who understand the frustration. read more

While I normally love Panera and their moderately priced but tasty soups and salads, I am slightly disappointed in their macaroni serving size. Their Mac n cheese is delicious but the half and half option leaves you with a nice serving of a whole 2&1/2 bites, if that. When we asked if we could have another bite or 2, they said no and rudely told us that's all you get. Sorry for asking, buddy. Will take my Panera cravings to La Madeleine next time; at least they'll probably say ouí to my requests. read more

This restaurant is not run like other Panera I've been to. Ordered from the app, promise time off 6:44pm. I arrived at 6:45, then had to wait until 7:10pm. While waiting, the server was verifying my order and used her bare hands to pull the baguette bread out of the bag. I asked why she used bare hands and her reply was "I washed my hands." I had been sitting there for 25 minutes, witnessed her scratching her head, running her fingers through her hair and never saw her wash her hands. I asked for a manager, who apologized and got me fresh bread (using gloves). I finally left, drove home and discovered there was no dressing for my salad. Ugh. Love Panera, and I have for years. I was thrilled to have one open in Mansfield. We've been there several times, and the food is always fine. Sometimes the dining room is a bit messy (dirty floor, etc.) at busier times, but whatever. I can't eat lettuce. I wish I could, but I can't. On one visit, the cashier suggested I have them make the salad I wanted with just kale, because I can eat kale, and they can make a salad with only kale. Great. Sign me up. Last night, I did that again. The cashier looked confused and asked me to explain what I meant, so I did. Hubby ordered, we paid and got out of the way. I looked at the receipt to make sure it said "no lettuce" on it. Boy - did it ever - because what it actually said was, "NO LETTUCE KALE ONLY IDK LMAO" (that's "I Don't Know Laughing My Ass Off" at the end). Excuse me? I asked for the manager, and explained that I go to Panera especially because they can make a salad that takes into account my food sensitivities. Then I showed her the receipt and read it and she was horrified. She apologized and comped our meal, and made it clear it would be handled. I realize that food service employees hear all kinds of requests and maybe they seem silly. Food allergies and sensitivities aren't silly to me. Oh dear. We SO wanted to like this. The online order didn't work, so my husband called the order in. I heard a very good order conversation. But when he arrived for pick up, he wasn't on the board and he still had to go through the line to pay. The order was wrong, so he had to replace it. Sigh. When he finally got our food home almost an hour later, the Frontega chicken panini was delicious. The order clerk wisely suggested the half sandwich. He had the ham & cheese on rye. Delicious. The order ticket said ACCURACY MATTERS and to alert someone if the order was wrong & it would be corrected right away, with a free treat for your trouble. Perhaps that was the single pickle spear we got? I understand this is a new restaurant & they are working out the kinks. The cashier WAS very nice and the food WAS very good. Almost everytime we come here after church...no light roast coffee. Orders get mixed or incomplete. Basic employees appear competent but there seems to be a supervisor issue as there is no sense of urgency or focus. This is absolutely the worst Panera I have ever been to. Got 2 salads. Asked for extra dressing with both. Manager hands me the order and tells me they are in the bag. Not only was there no extra dressing the dressing I did receive barely filled the bottom of the cup. Even if I combined them it would have barely filled 1/2 of a dressing container. This Panera is terrible. They ALWAYS have items out of stock, and the management is a joke. My boyfriend used to work here and he quit because the management was terrible to their employees and ridiculously unprofessional. I will sometimes drive 20 minutes to the second closest Panera because this one is seriously so awful. I'm not sure how this Panera location isn't closed yet. They are always missing certain food items, and they never have the right size lids for the drinks. If you come here I promise it's better to just go through the drive thru if you must come to this location, cause chances are they won't have the food you were hoping for. read more

I hate to give this Panera a bad review, but my son had Mac and cheese from this location .......and choked on a piece of plastic that was in his Mac n cheese. I will say the manager was very sweet, HOWEVER, when I spoke with him he informed me his staff did not tell him about the incident. I feel like this was important enough to notify the store manager who was in the building. I'm still mortified I had to nearly give my son the Heimlich maneuver. Yuck! Came here for a bowl of soup. Got the potato soup, don't know why, I usually get the broccoli cheese but I was going to try something new. It was gross. It was watery and lacked potatoes. The few potatoes were so mushed like they had soaked in boiling water too long. Over cooked possible. It lacked any kind of flavor. I added salt and pepper but it didn't help. Was craving a healthy lunch today so went to Panera. The green goddess salad was fresh and tasted amazing. Perfect blend of greens and the fresh avocado was the star of the show. It also has bacon tomato and comes with fresh bread. I'm not huge fan of the dressing and they happily substituted caesar dressing. Since I eat very limited carbs did my eat bread but it smelled fresh and was soft. The price is a bit expensive but for the occasional treat was worth the price. I dont go to panera very often because it can end up being expensive when the food and service is not worth it. My boyfriend and I each ordered a pick 2- both with 1/2 a sandwich and he got bacon mac and I got regular, and we got our order to go. After getting home we see they forgot the regular mac. No big deal, people forget things. I call the next day and speak to a "manager", she tells me to just come in and say I spoke to her and I'll have a mac "on them". First of all........ I paid for it. I ask if I need my receipt she says no. I go in later that day and tell the cashier the situation, she brings the manager who had the same name as the person I had spoke to, but the manager claims she never talked to me and didnt know what I was talking about. I used to be such a Panera fan and was really excited whenever this one opened in Mansfield. I don't know what happened but the quality of food has decreased. I am Sooo disappointed in the Mansfield, Tx Panera Bread. My husband and I were waiting at the window for our order and we saw one of the workers that was making a sandwich, drop it on the floor. The other worker with a green shirt picked it up, re wrapped the sand which, put it in a bag and it was whisked away. We brought it to the window person's attention, who in turn said something to the workers. Here comes the lady that dropped the sand which telling both of us that she threw the sand which away. Honestly, I have had better sandwiches from Subway and they have processed meats. We ordered both the turkey cranberry flatbread and the turkey avocado club and the meat is non existent not to mention instead of the nice sliced turkey you see on the picture it's pieces of broken up turkey. I waited outside in my car for 7 minutes and no one delivered my food curbside. I had to go inside to pickup my food. What's the point of curbside service if i have to go inside and get it? Came in this afternoon. We spent $28 for two soup and sandwich combos and coffee. The coffee was co!d and none was ready before we left. Only saw one clerk, one cook and one manager. Restraunt was nicely decorated and clean. Manager was super helpful with my food allergy. They have a great book with all ingredients of every food item in it. No other place we have eaten at has done this. The sandwiches were very good, though skimpy on the kale. The Poppy seed chicken salad was really sweet. White habiscus tea is yummy. SO GLAD there is a NEW manager! The last manager almost killed me. I asked if there were any peanuts or peanut products in their food, only cashews I was told. I got a 99 cent chocolate chip cookie. It had traces of peanut oil on it. I quietly asked for the manager, not wanting to make a show; just to make them aware. She pretty much called me a liar telling me they don't have peanut butter cookies and there was no way I tasted peanuts. (As my tongue is swelling) Well, their monster cookies DO have peanut products in them. No one washed the tray before making the chocolate chip cookies...I later found this out. I love Panera but I'm very disappointed when it comes to food portions at the Mansfield location only. I paid $8 for half a salad and they gave me have half of half. They've done this several times when I order my children Mac and Cheese Or soup. I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup and "Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich" in the drive thru on 11/16 at 2121, cost was $13.62, check no. 1309326. What I received was a non-grilled grilled cheese imo. The top bread slice had nice but light diagonal grill marks, because the grill marks where light I touched the bread and it was soft; no toasting to it. My initial thought was 'how odd for a Classic Grilled Cheese' . I then flipped the sandwich over, much to my surprise the bottom slice was plain 'ol white Bread! No toasting, no grill marks, nada! I then noticed the cheese was BaREly melted, the square edges of the cheese slices were definitely apparent. The soup got the two stars, it was just okay, tasted like a chicken soup base was used vs. stock from a chicken. Boston Market much has better, and if I'm not mistaken the portion is several ounces more. This was my first visit to this location, my other visit was to a store in Austin which was great. I expected much better Quality especially for $13.62 (sandwich was $6.99)! I had been ill for 2 days and cooking anything was too much effort. Needless to say I had to pull out a skillet and butter and grill the grill cheese; not a good thing when you're feeling cruddy and just paid someone to cook for you. Epic Fail Panera! read more

The. Worst. They have literally NEVER gotten an order correct. I stopped ordering from there for this reason, but then recently my kids wanted bagels and I thought..what the heck. What are the chances that they will screw up yet again? Whether its not slicing the bagels when ordered that way, leaving out the cream cheese, filling up the coffee cup too high so that it spills all over your car, or forgetting to put the TEA BAG in my tea and serving warm "milk water", the ONE thing I CAN count on from this Panera, is that they will screw something up on my order.
