For years we have visited the Pho Palace in Arlington. My first experience with pho and by which I measure all others. This is solid Vietnamese. I have not had one thing here that I didn't like. Usually have either the pho tai, the pork vermicelli bowl or the fried noodles with all the stuffs. The shaken beef used to be exceptional as they included garlic cloves that were well cooked and soft and just overall yummy but I guess they changed the recipe because there are no longer those luscious garlic cloves in the dish. Shame that. But everything else has stood the test of time and fills the tummy with that yummy warm goodness that makes one feel loved and cared for. Keep up the good eats! read more

I picked up a quick to-go order of Pho. Pho Palace 2 isn't that far from me. it's been a while since I had it. I ordered the P7 which consist of Eye-of-Round Steak, Beef Flank & Fatty Brisket (Pho Tai Nam Gau). The soup came with bean sprouts, fresh basil leaves, lime, and jalapenos. Along with onions and cilantro. They didn't short you of anything. A lot of meat was given. The pho itself was between $13-15. Also depending on which pho you decide to pick because the meats are different for each choice. I also had a mango boba smoothie which I wasn't the biggest fan but it did the job. Inside was clean, and quiet. Not packed at all. The staff at the front greeted me upon arrival. I didn't wait very long to receive my food. By the time I got home everything tasted good. read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience. I was served shrimp that was RAW inside. Not "slightly undercooked" -- actually raw. I opened it and it was obvious. When I asked the server if it could be cooked a little more, he took my plate to the kitchen and came back saying the chef said "the shrimp is just like that." That is honestly ridiculous. Raw shrimp is not "just like that," it's unsafe and should never be served. What's worse is that my concern was completely dismissed instead of being taken seriously. No apology, no effort to fix it, nothing. Just denial. Serving raw seafood and then refusing to correct it shows a serious lack of basic food safety and customer service. I would strongly question how this place handles food in general. Definitely not coming back. read more

There was plenty of seating available and there was no loud music, which was nice to have conversations with my party. On my second visit, I gave the pho a shot, hoping it'll be better--but it left me with the same impression: decent, but not quite hitting the mark. It's not bad, just not memorable. Pho Palace 2 is located off of E Broad Street in Mansfield right next to Kroger. The original location is in Arlington off South Collins. Pho Palace serves up many classic Vietnamese dishes such as rice plates, appetizers, and, of course, Pho. We came through on a Friday night where it was crowded with to-go orders of guests coming in to pick up orders as well as diners sitting in for service. They have plenty of seats with booths and tables and also have a restroom on site. We went ahead and ordered the kids' pho with beef, a large pho with rare sliced beef and fatty brisket, and the specialty pho with everything in it, such as all the meats and tripe. The food came out fairly quick and was beautifully presented before our eyes at the table. The broth was looking great with fatty beef bubbles foaming around the base of the soup. They didn't skimp out on the meat and were nicely garnished with thinly sliced white onions, green onions, and finely chopped cilantro. The fresh rice noodles were nestled beneath the piping hot broth and had a great snap back when biting into. I really enjoyed dipping my rare steak and fatty brisket into a mixture of hoison sauce and Sriracha with a squirt of freshly squeezed lime juice. The customer service was nice and attentive and kept our water glasses filled throughout the meal. I really enjoyed our meal, and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying something new, such as their broken rice pork chop plates or Vietnamese beef stew. read more

Pho critique; Coming straight from a Lao person, I am going to give you my honest opinion. The pho broth 3/5 more on the bland side. You have to add a lot of seasonings so be prepare. First and last time here. I decided to give this place a try, even with the mixed reviews. I got the grilled pork spring roll and pho with meatballs. Spring roll was decent, but used shredded lettuce, which isn't typical. The pho was awful. So bland, so unflavorful, so unseasoned, so depressing. I was fooled by the abundance of Vietnamese people dining when I went there and had high hopes. I felt like I was eating a bowl of noodles and the broth was lukewarm water. Their service is also not that great. As it was my first time there, I wasn't aware that I had to bring the check up to pay, no one told me, I just got tired of sitting there so I went up. My go to Vietnamese restaurant in the area!!!! Maybe I haven't been to enough Vietnamese restaurant in Arlington yet to know if any other places offer more than just 1 or 2 vegan items on their menu, but Pho Palace got a huge thumb up from me for having a good selection of vegan items. For their regular non-vegan food, I used to always order their grilled pork spring rolls (goi cuon thit nuong) and combination rice noodle soup (hu tieu thap cam). Love love their home made pickled jalapeno! So much that I would eat the whole pickled jalapeno container every time I come here. Lucky for me, they have somewhat similar vegan version of the noodle soup I like. The only thing is, if you're like me and kinda specific of what vegetables/condiments that go into the soup, make sure you ask for added celery in the vegan noodle soup. Like most Vietnamese restaurants, the service here is not the best, but it's a lot better than other places. One surprising thing is most of their servers, even the chef (at least 1 of them), speak really good English. We haven't had anything from here that we don't like. Solid Pho spot in Mansfield. This place can have off days but they are more consistently good pho days. I like to get the eye of round. The small is usually enough but if I'm hungry I'll get the large. Most of the time the broth is very flavorful and the steak isn't chewy, the texture is just right and it cooks perfectly in the broth. They give you plenty of basil and sprouts and they have all the condiments on the table. If you have a sweet tooth try the tropical smoothie with boba. read more
