Ordered a 6-pack of pumpkin cookies. A 6-pack of the cookies was $11.79 vs $3.39 for one. They only had 5 cookies and charged me $13.56 for 4 of them and $3.39 for the 5th rather than saying anything when I first ordered it. At the window the cashier told me they only had 5 and I tried to ask if I could be charged for the 6-pack but only given the 5 they had left and he said he couldn't do that. Even asked if they could just take the cookies off my order (ordered 3 other items) and he said he couldn't do that either even though I hadn't paid yet. I went to Panera yesterday, when I got my food there was a long curly hair on my sandwich, now I'm always respectful and calm because I know that accidents happen. So I went to the person making the food and I just said "hi um I got this on my food" and didn't even say it loud because I just didn't want other customers to know because again, accidents happen. The guy just grabbed the plate, didn't even get a "oh sorry about that" or anything, I mean he didn't even talk to me, just grabbed the plate and turned around, he did make a new one, and once he gave it to me, didn't say anything again. As a restaurant worker, I know that "I'm sorry about that" or something similar is very important. But not even apologizing for your hair being on my food when I paid for it? I mean, not even talking to me at all? I would've at least said "oh sorry about that". So please if you don't tell your employees to apologize for their mistakes, at least ask them to wear a hair net so they don't have to go through the hassle of having to apologize for their mistakes. Also, when I first got there and was getting out of my car, a black/dark blue - car/suv drove into the parking lot so fast and threatening because I really thought he was gonna hit me when I was getting out of my car (mind you, nobody was there so I came out of my car, but he drove in so fast) because he went through one parking spot to the one in front of them, it was bad, even my husband thought he was gonna hit me, after that it looked like he was about to hit another car next to him. Can you imagine my surprise when I saw him going into Panera, to the back?! Because he works there?! Good: Sandwich was delicious, fast service, great coffee, excellent manager. Not so good: I always order Roasted Turkey and Avocado BLT with baguette and butter on the side.Last week the sandwich did not have any avocado and no butter for the baguette. I had ordered it in the morning around 0830 but didn't eat until lunch time at 1130. I notified the manager of the missing avocado, since for me, that's what made the sandwich extra tasty. Plus the fact that the sandwich's name is Roasted Turkey and AVOCADO BLT, right? The manager was great and apologetic. I told him I was not asking for anything but merely to inform him that they needed to make sure each order was done correctly. He was cool with that. Today I ordered the same sandwich in the morning and before I left the restaurant, I checked my sandwich to make sure the avocado was in there. Well, yes and no. The sandwich was cut into two pieces. One side had no avocado and the other side had probably a quarter (if that!) of an avocado that was spread on there! Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I informed the front cashier person of this. He was great and apologetic too and did give me one slice of a quarter of an avocado. Good enough for my other half of the sandwich. But really, what's the deal here? Do the people making the sandwiches have a problem of noting what is included in the ingredients of the sandwich? Is there a shortage of avocados or something? I realize this is not the end of the world but if you don't want to add the avocados in there, then perhaps change the sandwich name to Roasted Turkey and BLT, delete the avocado part. Visited Panera Bread this evening to pick up an online order. It was a good thing we checked before leaving because almost the entire order was wrong, despite clear and simple instructions. When I brought it to the attention of the young woman behind the counter, she literally said, "What do you want me to do?" with a nasty and unprofessional tone. The manager was right besides her and did not correct her or offer my husband and I an apology. I proceeded to tell her I wanted the order filled as I instructed online but rather than her looking at our order, she kept asking me what I wanted and carried on with hand gestures and an unsavory tone. The manager even looked at my husband and I directly and never intervened to offer amends. The order was also missing the sides we indicated. On any other instance I would have schooled those two women since they clearly are not suited to work in a customer service industry. If they are that miserable, they need to quit their jobs instead of treating their patrons disrespectfully - It's US the customers that pay your wages. I am totally disgusted with the service and hope they fire these incompetent employees that are doing a poor job at representing Panera Bread. I'm visiting this location for the first time, while in the area, by far one of the worst experience at a Panera location. First the cashier named Megan didn't ring up the order properly, added an extra kids meal and couldn't get that I needed "pick 2" for 3 people so a total of three meals containing 2 items each... when asked to be corrected she still didn't understand, manager ( no name tag visible) came saying well you are being confusing, great! even though she was not there to ring up the transaction to begin with, had to reorder everything and get a refund... so inefficient, time consuming and absolutely needs plenty of improvement when it comes to customer service, beginning with the management team. I recently went to this Panera bread. I ordered the oatmeal with quinoa, honey, and almonds. When I finally got my order...took awhile, there was no quinoa or honey. It was simply oatmeal with LOTS of brown sugar. My father in law ordered oatmeal with pecans and strawberries. His arrived with no pecans, but had almonds. I'm sitting in this Panera as I type this. The cashier took my order then brought me the wrong item. They were out of the one I wanted (spinach bacon soufflé) so she grabbed an artichoke one and offered to throw some bacon on it. I told her I wanted what I ordered. The cashier (after much sighing and eye-rolling) called for the manager (Amanda) who refunded the cost of the item (but couldn't do anything about the $1 off coupon I'd already used--except offer me a pastry that I didn't want). The manager and cashier insisted that all the soufflés have artichoke, even though the website lists the ingredients as not having that item. The manager explained that the store has lost the soufflé tags, and that's why none of the remaining soufflés were labeled. Also, they're unable to use handwritten or computer-printed tags because those wouldn't be "Panera-branded". The manager continually insisted that regardless of what the website says, the ingredients of all soufflés contain artichoke. When I pointed out that if this was an allergen, that could be an issue, the manager said that it's up to the customer to report allergens, at which time *only* a manager could complete the order--something that has never happened to me at *any* Panera. The cashier just goes forward with the sale after I tell them I'm allergic to cinnamon and chocolate, among other things. Then the manager said labels wouldn't exactly help because the soufflés come mixed up and the employees have to guess at which is which anyway. The manager did agree to talk to the cashier about customer service, however, so there's that. Also, there's a severe lack of outlets which makes it difficult to work on the go or conduct small meetings with others, writing groups, etc. In fact, one of the outlets is blocked by the wooden part of the bench, which is extremely inconvenient. Let me start with the coffee. The cup only had 2/3 of the cup filled with coffee. Also, there was absolutely NO caramel in the coffee. It wasn't bad for a plain cup of coffee. Next, the cinnamon roll. It was rolled up like a ball; a mess. The cinnamon roll was cold as if it had been housed in a refrigerator. We told the young woman working the food prep area the issue, and customer service went out the door. When we told her one of the salads was made wrong, she literally said what do you want me to do about it. She had an attitude the whole time we dealt with her, was very unprofessional, never apologetic for messing up our order and acted this way while the manager was around. Just waited 20 minutes past the scheduled time for a curbside pickup. Finally went inside, turns out they marked my food as "delivered" but just had it sitting behind the counter. No offer to remake it, so it's just cold now. I checked the bag before I left and caught that they'd messed up part of it, so had to wait for them to replace that part, which took another 10 minutes. Panera Bread has officially opened in Martinsburg! I stopped in for breakfast this morning and was surprised to find that it wasn't very busy. There are plenty of comfy small and large booths, small and large tables, and high top tables to accommodate everyone. Once the weather gets nice and warm, you can even sit out on their patio! I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese on ciabatta and it was very tasty. I also ordered their iced cafe mocha. It had a good smooth coffee flavor and was not too overwhelmingly sweet. I don't normally write reviews but this place is rough. Brief: Dirtiest Panera I've ever been in with the weirdest tasting food and the most lackadaisical staff. Not so brief: Stood at the counter for a while waiting to order. It's dinnertime on a weekend. There is no cashier in sight. Finally, after about 3-4 minutes, the lady behind me loses patience and calls for someone. The kid comes around from the back like he was probably on his phone. No biggie. He rings me up. $11.01 for a sandwich. No biggie. ApplePay didn't work. No biggie. I go find a table and sit down. It's sticky and has crusted food on it. No biggie, I'll clean it myself. There are no napkins in any of the receptacles. No biggie. I'll go ask someone. I go to the food window, multiple workers see me and carry on like I don't exist. No biggie. I get someone's attention, "may I have some napkins to clean the table...all the dispensers are empty...or you can give me a rag." He gives me napkins. I wipe down the table with some water from the fountain. Cashier kid comes out and half-heartedly wipes down a different table. I was there for several hours as customers came and went--no other tables were cleaned that I saw. There is dirt and grime everywhere you look. Food comes. Great, because I'm hungry. Sandwich is built odd. I ordered a Turkey Bacon Avocado something something. Turkey is piled up tall and avocado is lumped on one side. French baguette is tough, almost stale. Bite into the sandwich, there's like one piece of bacon that is so infinitesimally small and crispy it looks like it was cooked for an hour. Second bite, I hit ice. Something in the sandwich is literally frozen. I eventually chew through it. I've ordered a lot of these turkey bacon avocado--whatever--sandwiches over the years and I've never tasted one this weird. I also think there was some sauce in there that didn't belong. Corporate: This place is not measuring up to Panera expectations. It's disgusting. If you're going to be expensive, be better--fix this place. Management: This place needs a deep clean (is COVID-19 still a thing?), or at least do what all your signs say you're doing about sanitation. Also, please talk to your employees about making the food correctly. This was my first time inside your place and I could tell after 5 minutes why you have hardly any customers during dinner time on a weekend in a relatively good-sized city just off an interstate. I know you care. Hire people that care too. Employees: I know you guys are under-staffed, but if you want people to feel safe eating at your establishment (and become regulars...which means better profits...which means better wages for you) you've got to keep it clean and cook food that measures up to the Panera brand. read more
