We were in Martinsburg visiting my uncle, and a friend of his recommended Logan's Roadhouse. Upon walking in, the vibe immediately gave me a mashup of Outback Steakhouse and Texas Roadhouse. Unfortunately, the food gave neither. Our family of five started with strawberry lemonades and ginger ales. The lemonades were overly sweet and had a strange taste, so we weren't off to the best start. For appetizers, we ordered the onion rings and spinach dip. We expected the onion rings to be thinner, almost like a Bloomin' Onion, but that was our own expectation. Still, getting only about 8-10 thick onion rings felt a little underwhelming. The spinach dip was even more disappointing. It was soupy and extremely bland. We tried doctoring it up with salt and pepper, but there was no saving it. Then came the entrées... Beer-Battered Fish: Technically cod, but it was mostly batter with a few flakes of fish inside. The string beans tasted frozen or canned with some seasoning added. They were just okay. The baked apples, however, were good! 6 oz. Steak: This came with broccoli and a baked potato, plus an added order of crab cakes. The steak and sides were good! The crab cakes? Absolutely not. They tasted like imitation crab and were easily one of the worst things on the table. Rack of Ribs: Finally, a winner! The ribs, fries and salad were all good, which wasn't too surprising since Logan's seems to specialize in ribs and steaks. Cajun Chicken & Sausage Pasta: Very bland, Cajun where? The chicken was overcooked and the sausage seemed a bit undercooked. The Caesar salad wasn't much better because the dressing didn't taste like Caesar at all. It was oddly sweet, almost like coleslaw dressing. She couldn't eat the meal and eventually switched to the burger sliders with fries, which were much better. Salmon & Shrimp: I ordered the salmon and shrimp topped with a "spinach cream sauce" over mashed potatoes, with broccoli and string beans on the side. The salmon was a little overcooked, but the shrimp were grilled perfectly! The broccoli was steamed perfectly too, just bland, so I asked for warm butter and added salt and pepper myself. And that "spinach cream sauce"? Baby, that was the SAME spinach dip from the appetizer. I'm convinced! The mashed potatoes were decent, and the string beans got the same review as the first order. Service was decent. Our server, John, wasn't particularly warm or attentive, but he did his job. Once our food arrived, though, we didn't see him for quite a while and eventually had to flag him down to have the pasta replaced. The restaurant itself is huge with a large bar area, elevated booths and traditional tables, so I could definitely see it working well for large groups. Prices were comparable to Outback or Texas Roadhouse, but unfortunately, the quality of most of our food didn't match the price point. Overall, the steaks and ribs seem to be the safest bets here. Everything else was very hit or miss, with far more misses at our table. I'll also add that I'm generally not a chain restaurant girl, but after this meal, I genuinely would've preferred the Olive Garden or Chili's right down the road. And if you know me, you know that's saying A LOT because you would never catch me choosing either one while I'm home in the DMV! Needless to say, when we're back in Martinsburg visiting my uncle, Logan's will not be making the itinerary. read more

Stopped here for dinner on our drive south. It's actually the first time visiting a Logan's Roadhouse and it was alright, especially for a chain restaurant. We were warmly greeted by the hostess upon arrival, and seated quickly. The waitress came quickly to take drink orders and bring a basket of complimentary buttery dinner rolls. The menu had a good variety of options from steak, to ribs, pasta dishes, burgers and more. I ordered the pork chops with a side Caesar salad and a loaded baked potato. Food didn't take long to come out, it was well prepared and tasted good. The space is like most chacon restaurants. It's just one large room, with all hard surfaces, so it's gets rather loud. It definitely makes it hard to carry a conversation. Overall it was a decent meal, but the ambiance needs an update and perhaps some sound dampening. read more

There was no wait. Went on a Tuesday night. The service was nice and attentive. Food came out pretty quickly, however, I ordered a 12 oz. Ribeye dinner with a salad and loaded sweet potato. The steak definitely was NOT a ribeye. It was about 1/4" thin. Not thick. The sweet potato was not completely cooked. They charged $24.99 for that. I was not impressed. My granddaughter ordered the Coastal Carolina Shrimp fried dinner with mashed potatoes and corn. She seemed happy and ate 10 of the 15 shrimp. My other granddaughter got the kids portion of the popcorn shrimp and fries. She said her shrimp tasted funny and she did not finish her meal. My husband and I don't often get the chance to visit Logan's. But we did visit today .... for about 10 minutes. We were seated quickly by a nice young gentleman with multiple piercings and tattoos. We sat and glanced at the sticky menu. The table was also sticky. The floors were dirty and litter (crumpled napkins, crumbs and small food particles) was visible under the surrounding tables. Perhaps the most uninviting thing was the thick layer of crumbs and other food remnant along side my and my husband's seat cushion. Needless to say, we didn't stay long and decided to dine elsewhere. Can't help but remember coming here a couple months ago and had lunch here. Food was good, but that's not what I'm here to talk about. I had a waitress. Wish I got her name, but anyway I wanted to pay in cash. I never paid in cash before so I looked up what to expect, do they bring the bill back etc. Turns out I should never trust Reddit cause they said you put the full total on the bill and then they'll take it and then bring it back to you so you can sign and leave a tip. So thats what I did. Waitress took it awkwardly and walked away with it. Then we waited about 10 mins. Never saw the bill come back so when I saw her again walking by I asked her if everything went okay with the cash and if the bill was coming back. Asking NICELY. And she was like "um you paid with cashhhh" and I was like yeah, but is the bill going to be coming back cause I was gonna leave a tip and she said "it would be nice " then she walked away. I'm like wtf lady??? So then I look it up after she left and turns out you gotta put the total and the tip in the bill. Wish I woulda known that earlier, but anyway she ASSumed I wasn't tipping her and honestly I'm getting sick of this guilt tripping bs where I gotta pay your employees a decent wage. I'm tired of these stupid misunderstandings where they ONLY get mad at the customer cause they THOUGHT they weren't tipping when they really should be mad at you and any other company that doesn't pay them enough so you gotta get them mad at US cause they think we're not giving them a little extra cheddar which is OPTIONAL BTW! But even though there weren't anyone else in the restaurant, they seated us in a small 2 place booth. All of those empty larger 4 place tables & booths & they seated us in the smallest booth in the restaurant. They should only use the small 2 place booths when the restaurant is packed & it is absolutely necessary. Even though there were 2 of us, the host only provided 1 menu. I had to go back up to the hostess desk & ask for another. Our waiter promptly came out & took our drink order. I ordered a Diet Coke & my wife ordered a regular Coke. But when our waiter came back with the drinks, he couldn't remember which was which. We had to do a taste test to figure it out (I'm still not sure if we got it right or not - LOL). My wife ordered the Beer Batter Fish & Chips & I ordered the Ribs & Tenders Platter. But they don't offer Cole Slaw as a side!!!!! Who's ever heard of Fish & Chips without Cole Slaw? And who's ever heard of Bar-B-Q Ribs without Cole Slaw? Our food was served within a reasonable amount of time. But my Ribs were dry & the Tenders were so small I actually took a photo of me holding all 4 in the palm of 1 hand. My wife said that her Fish & Chips were tasty, but the tartar sauce tasted like nothing more than Duke's Mayonnaise & diced carrots. And when we were finished & were leaving, there were 4 individuals standing around the Hostess Desk & all 4 completely ignored us. No "Have A Nice Day!" or "Thank you for coming!". I shouted "Have A Nice Day!" to them & 1 of them turned & thanked us & said "Have A Nice Day!" I noticed as we were leaving that the restaurant had become approximately half full of customers. Roadhouse use to be our go to with the grandkids, but not anymore. Although we didn't have to wait to be seated, we waited 45 mins for 1 country fried steak (which was overcooked)and 3 kids meals. It was ridiculous! Then I waited another 15 minutes for the takeout boxes and bill. It's a shame bc we always liked that they have something for everyone, but even the grandkids were disappointed by wait time for their kids meals. I guess they're going downhill. read more

Our last visit we got warned off of the crab cakes by the waitress (kudos on her!) because they "weren't what people expect, they aren't 'crabby'". A big group of us went here on a weeknight when we were in town for a meeting (thank you for doing separate checks!!). As a pescatarian, there were a lot of options on the menu that sounded delicious. A few of us split the fried pickles which were really good (very hot at first), and I got the salmon Caesar salad. It came with a really good size piece of salmon with the grill marks on it (fancy) and it tasted great. Oh the bread rolls were delicious too and they just kept bringing it (my dream). One batch of bread came out pretty lightly done (still cooked but pretty fluffy) and I'm all about that but my friends were not, and the employees kindly did bring a more well done basket for them. First service was great, but the food was awful my sons steak came out rare and was ordered medium had to send it back to be cooked he also got a side of the ribs and I tried a piece super dry. My ribeye was more fat then meat and maybe the cooks should scrape the grill every now and then because I had the dark residue on the plate from the grill. Daughter orders the steak bites with pineapple one small slice of pineapple. If the manager made some rounds maybe he could have asked the table behind me not to say f%%k every other word.
