Panera Bread has been a frequent go-to place when it comes to picking up a dozen bagels for early morning business meetings. Bagels (or any kind of breakfast food) usually put people in a happier and more attentive mood when you all sit down first thing in the morning to discuss the machinations of what keeps a business flowing. I will usually only go for breakfast type stuff and honestly 99.999999999999% of the time it is for a bagel with cream cheese. They do have lunch items, but I have always felt that their lunch sandwiches are just kind of subpar and come with honestly, too much in the terms of what Panera Bread want to charge for said item. All in all, I will give it four stars (), but with the notation that this is for their breakfast offerings and those bagels. I am a bit of a bagel snob and was born and raised in New Jersey. New York and New Jersey have some of the best bagels in the world (at least in my opinion) and while the bagels at Panera Bread cannot compare to those incredible bagels found in New York and New Jersey, to kind of paraphrase Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz", we are not in Kansas (or New Jersey) anymore. For Florida, the bagels at Panera Bread are not bad and their usually is a consistency to their products. So again, four stars () for this particular Panera Bread. read more

We placed the order on line thinking that it would be ready or close to as we arrived. After waiting in line at the drive thru we finally went inside to pick it up & it still wasn't ready. Finally get home & this salad was filled with disappointment. There's was no bacon in it (even though the name of it is BLT) and it was very small & underwhelming. I did order the take 2 so I expected a smaller salad totally fine but seriously I just laughed. Also notice on the receipt for the silverware yea that wasn't in the bag either. Thank God we were coming home because I'd be highly upset if we went to a park. I figured since it was listed 1st I didn't need to double check. This was my 1st & last time visiting this Panera. I am a sip club member - which means unlimited drinks (with a waiting period). Service is always fast and the selection of food - from yummy soups and fresh salads make this a healthy place to eat and even hang. The atmosphere is better than other fast food places, with windows, and comfy seats. Brighter than a Starbucks - at least in our area. This means there is a value as well as food here! read more

Coffee wasn't hot, second time the past 2 weeks. I recently came in around 2:30 for a lunch time visit - a coffee to pick me up each time. Hazelnut coffee was cold or barely warm to enjoy. Not hot. Definitely old. I'll try again but might need to go elsewhere if the coffee is always old. read more

we usually do not buy a beverage. Sometimes we do order coffee, but normally we just have water. Our Panera bread has plastic cups near the drink dispenser for those that just want plain water. On the evening that we were in the Mount Dora Panera restaurant soda drink machine was in operable that also meant that we could not get water. They wanted to charge us $2.29 for a bottle of water. Three times I have ordered on-line, and they take the order and 15 minutes later, the manager calls and tells me they don't have what I ordered. This is poor management. What has happened to Panera in Mt. Dora. it seems that anytime you buy bagels at this store the employees cut the bagels horribly. If the employees do not know how to use the machine then cut the bagels manually. Ordered the new smoky buffalo cheese melt and the wife got French onion soup. I asked before I ordered how hot was the sauce and kid said not that hot. This was hotter than my med wings yesterday. I came into Panera and i over heard the manager Nicole yelling and mistreating her workers. Workers are quiting because of this lady's verbal abuse . She doesn't like to do her job yet loves to abuse her authority and flair the manger title. The workers are over worked for literally pay and are even forced to do that managers jobs at times. i heard they make the workers stay late past close even when they are minors and have school the next morning. There are roaches and insects in the food. There was an ant infestation and they made the workers sell food with the ants on them. they Are always out of important item on the menu. This is a fairly new branch of Panera, having been built during the same time period as Aldi's and other businesses in the ever-growing strip mall. Parking is not a problem here and the food and service seems to be up to the standard of the chain. In more general terms, Panera's loyalty program seems better than what Starbucks switched to last year as I go there less than I do Starbucks, but get more freebies. Maybe I need to go there more During a more recent visit we had a bit of lunch at this Panera. My wife had half a strawberry capers salad and I went with the full Mediterranean veggie sandwich. The sandwich was good, but not at all filling for the $7 price. My wife had more in front of her with a half salad, so I will probably go that route if we do a meal there again. I saw a teenager working at this Panera in Mount Dora yesterday. I told her how cool it was to work their first job, but I didn't want to be a douche and bother her and ask her how the experience is. She said, "Oh, like you're doing now?" I was taken aback, and all I could say was "Huh?" but she kept cutting me off and going "huh? huh? huh?" and closing her hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and decided to order at the kiosk, and I heard her chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pick up my food at the pickup spot I saw her trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen baguetres in her hands without paying. The baker behind the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like "Hey, you need to pay for those first." At first she kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the breads and started ringing it up as one order, the teenager stopped her and told her to purchase them each individually "to prevent any electrical infetterence," and then turned around and winked at me. I don't even think that's a word. After she made like 15 orders and put them in a bag and started to say the price, the teen kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly. I've attempted to stop here on several occasions but with their hours it's never worked out, they don't open until 7:30 AM so as much as I love their bagels it's unlikely I'm going to enjoy one from here very often with my travel times. So the stars finally lined up today and I happened to be in the area when there were open, the drive through was empty so it only took a minute or two before I had my favorite toasted everything bagel with plain cream cheese and a medium coffee in my hands. Every time I come to this Panera store there is a issue with the food. My last experience was this evening. I ordered a Turkey sandwich with mayonnaise, extra onion and fresh tomatoes. To my dismay when I got the sandwich it had slammy tomatoes, no mayonnaise and no extra onions. I took the sandwich back and showed the tomatoes. She gave me more slammy tomatoes. Requested to see the manager, Nicole, and I showed the slammy tomatoes and she told me they were fresh, but the tomatoes were so decomposed that it ruined my sandwich. Very dissatisfied with the food and how Nicole reacted to the situation. Nicole did not show any concern or empathy with my situation and did not resolved the issue. First and foremost, my whole family and I love Panera (we very much like the variety of delicious food and drink options). Although, I must say that this Panera's location has been a huge disappointment on many different occasions. We have received our food poorly prepared; the staff has been absolutely rude; and the response to the many mistakes they make is met only with rudeness. Overall panera is still one of our favourite healthy fast food options, but I would highly recommend to use a different location because this panera does not meet the overall standard which the franchise promises. Was visiting a few weeks ago. Our food was great but we had to leave early because they decided to have some kind of meeting. But what really caught my attention was someone with fox fursuit walking into the store, they looked absolutely adorable and it turns out they work there!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! I honestly cannot believe that their corporate office hasn't done anything to fix the issues this place keeps having. I've been here three times and something is always messed up. Today I figured I'd give it one last shot. I ordered bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel. She asked if I wanted my egg over easy or scrambled. Then I ordered a vanilla latte. After receiving my food and paying for it I started to leave. I took a quick peak at my sandwich and there was no egg! Seriously!? You screwed up three ingredients!? So I parked and came in, waited in line, then she fixed my order. Now I'm headed home and I take a sip of my latte that is mocha! I don't like mocha lattes! At this point I'm over it and not turning back. The staff at this panera can be pretty rude--but it's a mixed bag. The rapid pick ups are rarely ever out and I always have to ask for my order at the counter. What's the point of offering rapid pick up if it's not going to be prompt, or if the app is not going to be accurately updated to say when something's out of stock? It's quicker to go through the drive thru than to order rapid-pick up on your phone, park, go inside, and STILL have to wait in line to request your order (often not even made yet). read more

I have to comment of how greedy the owners are here (Covelli corporation which owns over 20 Panera's). It's no wonder employees have no care over service or quality preparation. When I worked here, they paid us 9.25 per hour. Most of the young people here can't afford their rent and are forced to move home into their parent's home. The regional and local managers here do not treat employees well. I understand it's the services industry but it's no reason to be harsh or even somewhat abrasive. There's no benefits here and honestly, the food prices and profit margins are above 50% the industry average. The Covelli Corporation is just another company that cares ZERO for employees unless they are managers and then maybe- you get some basic benefits. What about benefits for younger women which have higher medical costs? What about paying above minimum wage? The only thing we received was an occasional pat on the back in the Discord app used for scheduling and feedback on employees doing a great job. Well, that's great but what about the poor pay? It's no wonder people are complaining about service and food prep. Duh- make your employees feel valued by paying them a fair wage. read more

This place has horrible customer service!! I ordered through Uber eats, waist almost an hour after they kept pushing my order back. Just for them to call me and say i have to cancel my order beca they don't have what I want. Then tells me I have to call the driver myself to cancel. I was literally stuck and could not drive to get food. that was my only money on my card so I couldn't order anything else. it took me hours to figure out how to get my money back. I love me Panera. The breakfast sandwich on the brioche roll is spectacular. It actually has a runny egg on it. Big yum there. This particular location caters to the older population. The food was good and the employees were cheerful. I will say a lot of the patrons were a bunch of old Sour purses that have absolutely no patience for the slightest era. The food was OK, but the staff seems disgruntled & I didn't feel treated well with a sarcastic comment that was made to me when I didn't quite understand an order. It wasn't a pleasant experience for the price I paid. The soup spoon was dirty, so I just grabbed a plastic one. There are so many places to eat around here. I'd skip this corporation with the miserable staff and go for a mom & pop place or the organic grocery store up the street that sells wraps and sandwiches.
