The people working here do not get enough credit. Working in food service is TOUGH, and they take a lot of attitude. I have consistently had excellent service here. The food has been good, and the employees are friendly. The single time an item I ordered was unavailable they went out of their way to be sure it was appropriately replaced with a comparable item, even giving choices. I've been a Panera Bread lover for many years. I needed to use a birthday reward before it expired. I placed my order with Shiloh. She was the sweetest, most friendly employee I've encountered in years! She forgot to give me my pumpkin cookie, and when I went back to the register to get it, she gave me an extra one and apologized for the oversight. She went above and beyond to make sure my experience was great. I also had a coupon off a sandwich. I ordered the Frontega chicken sandwich at Shiloh's suggestion. I really wish I could have updated my review with a higher score. But after going to this location a few days a week for rapid pickup orders for the past few months, I unfortunately have to say that it will stay at a one-star review, No one ever even greets you when you walk in. Even if they are just standing behind the counter with no customers. Most of the time, my pickup order is barely on the counter, where i have to stretch all the way across to grab my bag, never in the rapid pick up area. Today, I walked in, and the two kitchen staff members were holding a conversation in Spanish and not even working. My sandwich? Not even ready after 15 minutes of placing my order. It was half put together on the counter inside the kitchen, which I could clearly see, with no egg yet. Once I arrived, the two women left the kitchen. Sandwich still not ready. Five minutes later, one staff member finally returned and threw my egg on the bread and then put it in the paper and placed it, not even near me where I was standing. She placed it barely on the pickup for dine in counter, and I again had to stretch across the counter. She clearly saw me and still no customer acknowledgment. There were several people sitting in the dining area, but there were no other orders before mine, which I saw on the screen. Two after mine, for the people who walked in after me. This place has been "north ported," meaning you get employees to fill positions that do subpar effort into everything. No customer service. Has been for years. As I walked in I noticed barely any customers at a dinner rush time, 1 customer in the establishment on a Friday night. The gentleman at the register noticed me walk in, shrugged and tried to walk away, I went to the bathroom in hopes of coming back to a more welcoming friendly employee. This whole place smells like sewer / rotten eggs right now I can not believe it! Lol. Bathroom at least had toilet paper and towels. I saw that amount for the offer it was fine, so I clicked on it and ordered... when we got home with the order, we realized we got one salad, sup and baguette - missing another salad we called the store and spoke to manager who very coldly said that he can't do anything about it and keep saying "I'll give you a number for corporate"... SO corporate - betraying clients this way is so LOW ..! you offering family feast for $23 - I got one small salad and quart of the soup and baguette for it..! Are you delusional..?!?!?!?!? The service is always fast and seems courteous at most of these Panera chain locations. The food seems to be fresh and it appeared most guests were enjoying their food selections. I am a rewards customer, just moved here from Portland, Oregon .... but the Panera prices seem very high for a fast food type restaurant. What's there to say? This is one of the few good options to eat in North Port. Check everything, check it again, make sure it's even correct. They seem to average a 20-50% failure rate for me and I go maybe 4-8 times a month. June 2019 update: We tried this place again. My "whole" salad was a smaller than expected portion that didn't reach the rim of the bowl. Worse, staff had added extremely spicy Thai style chicken slices instead of the regular chicken that particular fruity salad is supposed to have, tainting every other part of the salad with red pepper flakes. I picked out as much of this as I could but was not very successful. FYI, fruit and red pepper flakes don't go well together. Altogether, my husband and I felt disappointed once again. This location is incredibly accommodating of customers. I accidentally ordered a salad that had feta cheese when I couldn't have feta. When I asked them about remaking t they were more than willing. This morning my husband went there to get his usual dozen of bagels, it was 7:50 and the door was opened so he went in and apparently the mgr. She's there every week at that time told him they wouldn't open till 8 ! But yet the door was opened !! He looked over and the bagel bins were full !!
