First time I had ever eaten here. Tried a you pick 2, went with Southwest Chicken salad, and half of a spicy chicken wrap. The salad was ok but they were out of their southwest salad dressing so had to go with balsamic vinaigrette. The wrap was ok had a chipolte dressing on it. I might give it a second try but wasn't too impressed by my first visit. Was clean inside. They bring your order to the table for you. They come and clean off your table after you are done. Staff was nice and helped me order.

Edit: As of 01/15/2024, this location is open. Ordered a pick 2 meal, sandwich and potato. The portions were great, and the food was okay. The staff were friendly, and my order was completed right on time (drive-thru pickup). The potato was bland for a loaded potato, and the bread was soggy on my reuben, but that can be attributed to the carryout. As of 12/22/2023, this location is still not open. The McAlister's Deli website lists it as "Coming soon!" but does not list a phone number or estimated date of opening. The building appears to have been completed in November 2023.

This was our first time at McAlister's and it won't be our last. Service was excellent and our food was delicious. Fresh and great flavor and good size portions. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. We went on a Sunday and it was crowded but food came out quick. I feel that the food and pricing is better than Jersey Mikes. We will definitely be regulars here. So glad they opened a spot in PC.

We went to McAlister's at 19570 Cochran Blvd, Port Charlotte, for the first time this Friday afternoon. The first thing we noticed was the place was large, bright and clean. We walked through the front door and straight ahead was the ordering counter, with their large menu selection on the wall. We were greeted immediately and the counter staff were VERY helpful and polite. I ordered half Reuben and half Chef's Salad. My wife ordered the Savannah Salad and my grandson ordered the Garden Turkey. We got our drinks and sat down. It was only a few minutes and we were served. For those who have not gone there, you get a number card when you order and you can sit anywhere and place the number on the placard holder at your table. Much like they do at Culver's. It works well. My Reuben had bread that was soggy. I felt that they had prepared it beforehand. The taste was ok, but it was not outstanding. The Chef Salad was good, but there was little texture since they used sliced deli turkey meat and ham and then chopped that. So the texture was much like a chopped salad and not like the Chef Salads I have had before at other places. My wife did say her Savannah Salad was delicious. It's a solid choice for eating, but I have to say I was a little disappointed on the flavor. I thought it could be better. The corned beef in the Reuben was not as good as some other places I have had. Don't get me wrong, I'll go back again. It may have been that my expectations were too high. At any rate, I have no problem recommending that you check them out. Their menu is substantial and I am sure I will try other items there. I think you will find them a good choice. Check them out.

This is supposed to be 1/2 sandwich (only1/4) and a 1/2 potato (very large)

Not my type of deli. More like a chain store deli. Not impressed. Ordered the Italian sub - mediocre at best.

    Is it still cold inside?

Yes, it's most likely always going to be cold inside. Unfortunately since it gets so hot in the back, the air conditioning is usually turned down so the employees in the back don't overheat.

You know they are a good breakfast spot when people are waiting at 6:15 for doors to open. We had…read morebreakfast here a few years ago and enjoyed it; wanted to go back but we don't eat breakfast often. Prices were higher this time, understandably. They are still better priced on a basic breakfast than other places nearby. I wanted to try their eggs Benedict even though I've only ever had it maybe 2-3 times in my life! I'm not a good person to judge since I'm not really sure what hollandaise should taste like! It was more tangy tart than I expected. The eggs were cooked the way they should be and the ham was thick. In my memory, it should've had a stronger ham flavor, as I think Canadian bacon is the traditional meat and I was hoping for that. But even eating a piece of the thick ham by itself, I couldn't taste a salty smoked ham flavor. While I found that disappointing, I couldn't take a star away because visually it looked great, and I imagine a lot of people would love to see that thick slice of ham even if it is too mild! Don't judge it by my photo because I broke my yolks and stirred them up before I remembered to take a photo. The grits (my choice of side) were just like I like them. My husband got a 2 eggs breakfast with home fries (?) sausage and toast. It was a full plate of food and he enjoyed it. They have home made strawberry jam (yum!) and I will for sure get breakfast with toast or biscuits next time just so I can have some of that jam. I did put a little bit of jam on a couple bites of my English muffin from under my Benedict. The coffee mug was tall so my husband appreciated that; and the friendly & attentive server, Melissa, filled it before empty, as needed. We will be back "sooner than later" hopefully, because there's more I want to try on their menu. I do recommend going here for breakfast especially if you are an early bird or find yourself out and about very early for some reason like we were, and need a breakfast. I think they might get crowded quickly, so early is better. Note that their hours were not accurate on the iPhone maps app - I submitted correct hours and it's pending approval. However I used the website hours and one of their days I think it was Sunday - was showing closed at 1 but it's actually 1:30.

The meatloaf was very good and came with a bbq glaze and some bbq sauce on the two slices. The mashed potatoes are real, you can tell because they leave the skins on! My wife also had an order of the potato pancakes with applesauce. Those were fabulous! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, done beautifully. They also provide a small bowl of applesauce which was very good and we appreciated the amount. I had tow biscuits with gravy, two scrambled eggs, and hash browns. In my opinion, they have the best biscuits and gravy in the area. Gravy has plenty of flavor and the biscuits are soft and flaky on the inside, yum. Chasity was our server and she was fantastic! Got our order right, checked back to make sure everything was good, and offered good conversation.
