This was our first time here, and we came to celebrate a birthday. We had noted it in the…read morereservation and also had a conversation about it with our server. We were a little surprised when nothing was done for it, which isn't a big deal, but I'll be honest it was disappointing since we did come specifically to celebrate and had talked about it w our server. 3/5 Arancini - Very salty. None of us really enjoyed them because of that. They also came out lukewarm instead of hot. Would have been excellent if it was less salty and came out hot and crispy. 5/5 Fig & Mushroom (subbed for prosciutto) - The menu doesn't specify how the fig is served. Turned out to be fig jam rather than fresh fig, which wasn't what we expected. A little too sweet for me but overall still very much enjoyed it. Their pizza was cooked perfectly with enough toppings and cheese. Very good pizza! 5/5 Braised Short Rib + Polenta - so good! The short rib was excellent, just slightly salty. The polenta was perfect, and it came with a generous portion of wild mushrooms. 2/5 White Wine Cake (recommended as "unique") by our server - This was the most disappointing meal item. Our waitress told us it was special, but it was very bland and didn't match the description or image on their website. Their website showed a cake with a large scoop of ice cream on top, fair amount of whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Ours came with maybe a quarter of the size of that ice cream scoop, a little teaspoon dollop of whipped cream that you eat in one bite and the raspberry sauce was a tiny smear on bottom for decor but there wasn't enough to actually eat it. The cake itself was moist but lacked flavor. It took a really long time to come out, we thought perhaps they forgot, then forgetting we were celebrating a birthday on top of that was disappointing. Atmosphere - Beautiful space, very well done. The only issue is how close the tables are, you can't pull your chair back without hitting someone, and getting to the bathroom requires asking others to move because of how tight the layout is. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would return. While there were a few dishes we wouldn't order again, and others we would. Would love to try the wild mushroom pizza next time! The only thing was that since we had come to celebrate a birthday and didn't end up doing that, the night felt a little less special than we had expected--but still a nice experience overall.

This…read moreplace is swanky and sophisticated, and a nice addition to the Park Ridge restaurant scene. I came to meet some folks and we sat at the bar. They have an extensive beverage program here, including mocktails, and that's what I settled on. I got one called Strawberry-Basil something, and it was so good. The strawberry-basil shrub was a key ingredient, and I don't get to a lot of places that use a shrub in their drinks. There was definitely a STRONG vinegar taste but for me, that was great. I also ordered a pasta dish, orecchiette and sausage with peas and a sweet, creamy sauce. Orecchiette and sausage are such a classic combo and I hadn't had this sauce before; it was a pleasant dish and was perfectly al dente. Service was good for the bar area. There's parking around, both in the lot right outside and the public parking lot below. And then of course there's the lots by the library and whatnot, so you should be able to find something.

I recently stopped by with my boyfriend while passing through the area, and Korean soup hits differently when it's freaking cold outside. I ordered the "mix" soup (seollungtang with meat and tendon), and it came out boiling just the way it should be. The bowl includes thin flour noodles, tender meat and tendon, and is topped with green onions. It also comes out with kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi), regular kimchi, a dipping sauce for the meat, and salt to season the soup to your liking. All of that plus a Diet Coke came out to $33.99 for both of us. In this economy? That's a solid deal. The lady and the man working behind the counter are always sweet, which is a plus. The food was comforting and much needed. I'm so thankful this place still exists and is standing strong even after Assi is gone. A place I'll always come back to when I'm near the area and craving a warm bowl of soup.

You order and wait and then your order appears from behind the curtain. I don't know all about Korean cuisine, but the goat soup does have great flavor. It doesn't seem to have dumb'ed down just to appease the locals (ha ha). I've been here twice and the little side dishes appear to rotate slightly so they weren't the same both times (I confess I ordered the goat soup both times). I see a lot of past reviews mention the oxtail. I wish I could get some of that. There is bulgogi and rice on the menu too. The spicy pork bulgogi was plentiful, but it wasn't as spicy as the soup. I promise I'll try a different soup next time. Maybe.

They were very accommodating for requests of dishes that were not on the menu as well! My first 34 years of life I lived on Long Island, New York. Formally a 14 year chef on Long Island where I ran a family style restaurant for a wonderful Sicilian family and Nonna Silvia's made me feel like I was back home. This place is legit! My husband ordered the polo Venito and since I can't have tomatoes, our waiter recommended the fettuccine Alfredo so I ordered that. There is olive oil and Parmesan cheese on the table and they brought us two small loaves of bread which was crusty on the outside and chewy on the inside just the way we like it. It was dark in here, which was very calming. There was music playing softly in the background just enough so we don't understand what the people next to us are talking about which we appreciate. There's a full bar and lots of wine options. I highly recommend dining here. The food is fantastic, seasoned very well and the perfect temperature and texture. This is an amazing restaurant to take a first date or even to celebrate a special day like an anniversary or birthday. I am so glad we stopped here! Will be back for sure! Our waiter was kind, knowledgeable, and professional! Could not ask for a better restaurant to come to tonight!

We arrived on a Saturday around 7:30 and they started getting packed and had a wait by 8. They are cash only but if you forget they have an atm inside as well! Prices are so shocking! Each bowl was about $14 which is the cheapest I've seen a bowl of pho in a looooong time. Food comes out pretty quickly. We order the appetizer fried shrimp Rangoon, bun Bo hue, pho dac biet, and avocado smoothie w/boba. The base of soup for both dishes was AMAZING! Good depth of flavor and not lacking anything. The bun Bo hue had a ton of meat and they even have the pork blood cubes! Pho dac biet was lacking a quantity of meat but good variety. The only complaint I have is the Avocado smoothie was very bland and didn't have much avocado taste. The boba tasted old because it didn't have its chewy texture anymore. Will DEFINITELY be coming back for the food!!!

Best of all, the prices are very affordable compared to other places I've tried. The goi cuon is only $5.50 for two rolls, while other restaurants charge around $7.50. I highly recommend this spot. Just keep in mind that they only accept cash, although there's an ATM inside.

The ambiance has always been cute and a nice little date spot that's easy to get into. The servers have always been very kind and helpful. We did not realize that they changed to a more premium style. All you can eat menu as an option. Typically with all you can eat options. You have very limited roll selections, but here they have a lot of chef specials on the menu as well as hand rolls sashimi and nigiri. The fish quality didn't change at all! It's still really good. We're typically turned off from all you could eat restaurants due to the fact that their rice to fish ratio is pretty high. That is not the case here. The sushi rolls are still billed in a very cohesive manner. The flavors hit your palate perfectly and are not buried in rice. The all you can eat option may be more expensive than competitors in the area, however, their quality is second to none in this tier. We will definitely be coming back and frequenting this option because you get great quality for a great price!!!

We paid for their AYCE menu which includes a set menu; there's a disclosure on the menu "any leftover rice will be charged for" Understandably, if customers are unreasonably wasting food. We ordered two small rounds of sushi and didn't even want to eat anymore because the quality of fish was so disappointing. The amount of rice they put in the rolls is embarrassing. I'm from Japan and it's so disappointing and honestly heartbreaking that some people will eat here and will create a first impression of sushi which may cause them to not enjoy it from then on. For 4 sashimi, 4 nigiri, 3 hand rolls, and 2 maki, it took them one hour. $80. Sushi Taku is significantly better AYCE in Chicago, Sakana with the same namesake in Las Vegas, NV is significantly better as well. Side note, the waiter and waitress were extremely nice.
