The was normal, nothing over the top. When we picked up our food there was a missing sandwich. The girl looked on the screen proceeded to say I don't see it here as I expressed to her. I had paid $39 for two sandwiches and a cup of soup. She was quick to say no worries she would just make me one anyways my food wasn't free and it's frustrating as it always affects your mood when you have to go up and basically almost beg to get your lunch after you've paid for it and then have someone want to act like they're doing you a favor Sad to say I won't be back. I have mixed reviews about this location. It's rare that I come here anymore. I do like their sandwiches and soups, especially the chicken avocado sandwich, and autumn squash soup when it's available (although it doesn't always come with the pumpkin seeds as shown advertised). I like some of the pastries as well, but based on the size, not sure if it's worth the calories. And it does seem like the sandwiches have gotten smaller. I used to stop by for breakfast, but it would just end up taking a while, and I'm not sure if it was worth the price. If you use the drive-through, be prepared to wait. There are times in the past I have waited at least 20 minutes. The last time I was in the drive-through, there was a huge splatter against the drive-through window. I asked what happened, and they said that soup was spilled when transferring it to a customer. It kind of looked like someone had drove over it and it exploded everywhere. It did not look very appetizing and had not been cleaned up. It's a good location, though, being right across from the mall. read more

Only got half our food at first and got a nasty look when asking where the rest of it is. Took forever to get it. Yes it's a chain but the bagels and pastries, breads are very good The service was good and they were very helpful in selecting the pastries as well as asking if we wanted the bagels partially sliced. What happened to Panera? You use to walk in and smell fresh bread baking. Last time I was in they were pulling bread and bagels from white garbage bags, they were stored in. I guess transported that way. This place has changed so much and food is low quality. Nothing is made in house other than tossing a salad. The pricing for what you are getting over the top expensive. I ordered a pick 2 on the front kiosk, waited about 25 minutes (as expected it's Friday lunch rush), my BLT sandwich the bacon tasted like hard old stale beef jerky. Window personal don't do their job correctly. I've been to the one by the mall several times (you'd think i would have learned my lesson the first couple of time)they either mess up my request for their bread, they give me one of their flavorless apples or their chips...if I wanted the chips I would say so it's like why ask if your gonna give what you want. You think it was because they were busy, but I've been there when they've been busy when they haven't been busy.It's all the same. They don't ask for my phone number so the several times I've been there.I've not gotten any points. The Panera Bread that's the best in the area is the one in Bonnie lake.They asked for the number when you give your order.They're calm , they're courteous the friendly and they always get my order correctly.. I often wonder why so many of us go to an overpriced established with poor quality food and even worst customer service. I would never recommend this particular Panera Bread to anyone. They are extremely slow. Often the food is cold or barely there. Sandwiches with no meat and sauces are usually non existence. I have never been let down by the taste of the food from Panera, especially this location. Service is generally better when going inside to order, versus online or drive through. Made the mistake of going through the drive thru here. We had to the order twice at the window. Then waited 10 minutes at the window for the girl to not even know the order and none of it was in the system. She then proceeded to mess up and not add multiple items (which you pay more for chicken). We then proceed to wait 15 minutes for them to notice we are still in line there is a car behind us the whole time as well. After that they ask if they want us to just put chicken in a sauce bowl. Did not offer any compensation for this horrible experience. I love Panera but these workers do not know what they are doing at this location. read more

This morning was my last attempt with them. Once again, I placed my order, waited over 10 minutes for Avocado Toast, only to be told they can't make it because they are out of something. The first time it was sourdough bread. This time it was green goddess "sauce". How does a restaurant open for the day having no idea what they do or do not have at OPENING?! I have worked in restaurants. That's restaurant 101, knowing your stock when taking orders. I had this problem FIVE other times before today. Smiling apologies for being inept won't fly. As most know, Panera is a chain so your experience is usually pretty consistent no matter which location you visit. This is closest to home for us so it's the one we experience most often. We've only gone through the drive thru here so I can't speak to the indoor experience. The drive thru line here is ALWAYS long but they usually get through it pretty quickly. Service is also usually adequate. My kids are obsessed with their signature mac n' cheese (I don't blame them) and I love their iced chais. Most recently they were running promotion for a free half sandwich or half salad with a purchase of $5 or more (which is super easy to do) and so I decided to take advantage of it to snag some food for a picnic in the park with my youngest. I got him mac n' cheese, along with a half Greek salad and half tuna salad sandwich for myself. This was my first time ordering food that wasn't the mac n' cheese and I was pleasantly surprised! Everything was packaged nicely and overall it was the perfect choice for some easy picnic food! I love a good tuna sandwich and they do theirs really well. The Greek salad was nothing special, but the dressing it comes with is good and everything tasted fresh so no complaints. I see a few more picnics in our future before the summer is over, so we'll definitely be back for another easy lunch! read more

My experience went well! I had the Asian Chicken Salad & it was good. Tho the next time I would leave out the chow mein crispy noodle chips, the vinaigrette was great & light! The chicken almost tasted like sandwich sliced meat & would have preferred chunks?? I was able to choose a side of bread, chips or apple. There was a sweet girl at the counter that took my order & many were at the kiosk ordering & paying. Which my girlfriend used to order, a salad, drink & dessert. When she picked up her order it was just the salad. Confusing, she had to make a second trip to ask & get her other items. This was on a busy Sunday afternoon! I went to Panera Bread expecting to get, you know... bread, soup, maybe mac & cheese--basic stuff they're known for. Instead, I was told they were "out of everything." No soup. No bread. No mac & cheese. Nothing. And I get it--sometimes places run low. But this wasn't just poor stock management. The employees were standing around, clearly not busy, and seemed more interested in chatting than checking if anything could actually be made. The vibe was pure laziness. If you're going to keep the doors open, at least make a minimal effort to serve the menu or offer alternatives. This felt like a joke. Major disappointment--won't be back anytime soon. read more

I had recently gone to a different Panera location and tried a cinnamon roll. Best cinnamon roll I've ever had, hands down. So yesterday, I wanted to share this amazing treat with the wife and kids, so I went to our nearest location here on South Hill. I had just run some errands, so I ordered myself a breakfast sandwich, and three cinnamon rolls to take home for the family. I took the little table tracker thing and went to sit someplace out of the way (just my preference, as the place was almost empty anyway). I waited fifteen minutes before I got frustrated enough to go find out what the holdup was. I found my order sitting on the pickup counter, with not one but two employees just lounging around behind the counter. When I asked if that was my order, the guy seemed to have trouble finding the name on the ticket. I clarified I'd ordered it at their kiosk as a guest, so he just read the order off to me. I confirmed it was mine, handed them the table tracker and told them the table tracker hadn't worked. I was dismissively told "Yeah, the batteries on those things die all the time". Okay, cool, I get that, but there couldn't have been more than four customers in the entire place, and my order was the only one sitting on the counter. After fifteen minutes, you'd think one of the employees visibly doing nothing could have taken thirty seconds to do a quick walkabout and see if I was sitting there waiting with a non-functional tracker. So I took my food and went back to sit down. Took a bite, and the sandwich had apparently been sitting on that counter long enough for it to get cold. Not "not hot", not "lukewarm", cold, at least all around the outside. It was warm-ish in the middle, but it had likely been sitting on that counter for nearly the whole fifteen minutes I'd been waiting to cool down that much. Assuming it had been properly heated to begin with. I took my sandwich and cinnamon rolls and left, intending to heat the sandwich up again when I got home. Which I did, and the sandwich was fine. Then we opened the cinnamon rolls and I took a bite. These cinnamon rolls were at least a day old. The outside was dried out, and they were slightly stale in flavor. And so, stars on this reviewed docked for: -Length of wait to get food -Nobody notified me my food was ready -Two employees just standing around when I went to check on my food -Response to my frustration about the tracker was non-functional was met with dismissive apathy -Poor food quality All around, a lousy experience. I came in here to get some lunch. The woman at the register was nice, not overly friendly. I must have miscommunicated what I wanted. When Matt the team lead brought the food to my table I mentioned the error. He didn't question it and immediately had the kitchen prepare the item that I felt was missing. He was absolutely wonderful and was making it a point to check in with all of the patrons to ensure that they were satisfied with everything. The inside is a standard panera, very clean and organized. It appeared that the staff came around to the tables regularly to ensure that everything was up to par. read more
