    Add chocolate chips to pancakes

Came here on a Friday at 1030, there was a good amount of parking, no wait, and they didn't have anything that was sold out. This is the 2'nd time I've been here and this time was definitely better than last time! I feel like they have a better menu and not everything is Ala cart anymore, thank goodness! Service was great and restaurant was very much a breakfast/brunch place. Food was good!

Ordered my breakfast to go, all I had was their online menu to use as reference. When I got my food I noticed there was no bacon with it. While their menu photo shows the dish I ordered with it, when I ate here years before it always came with it but now it's gone from the item description. No apologies from the management. Your store is greedy, the shrinkflation is atrocious and telling of how the Puyallup OPC is operated and they value Pennie's over customers and creating real value with honest menus and offerings. My brothers CFS was so thin I don't even know if there was even chicken between the breading. Avoid this place at all costs. Goto Blackbear diner! Better quality, more value and they don't hate their customers.

Service: 10/10 very polite and friendly. Ambiance: 10/10 very family friendly restaurant. You can hear laughter, chitter chatter, babies crying and laughing in the air. Sounds like family time to me. Food: 8/10 Good food, but can get it just about anywhere. Nothing too special. Pancakes 10/10 fire, just fire

Veggie Bowl (no eggs or Hollandaise)

We had a wonderful breakfast here! We managed to time it perfectly, because we walked right up and got a table for two. We have waited a long time for a table in the past, and many people who came after us had a wait, as well. We did wait a bit long for our food, but we weren't in a hurry, so it wasn't a big deal. I'm a vegan, so I asked if they had any vegan options and our server said no, everything was made with eggs and milk (I clarified he was talking about the pancakes). They had a veggie bowl on the menu, so I ordered that with the eggs and Hollandaise on the side for my husband. I also got some dry marbled rye, which were nice, thick slices. The bowl was really good! It hand seasoned potatoes, broccoli, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and spinach. My husband got the chicken-fried steak, which was almost as big as the plate! It came with a side of pancakes, and he added potatoes. He thoroughly enjoyed his food, as well. The women's bathroom needed a little attention, but it wasn't terrible. Our server and the drink attendants were very attentive. Our glasses and mugs were filled regularly. It was a great breakfast.

This place gets a SOLID 2.5 not necessarily a 3. First Ill start w/ the good because positivity is important lol. 1.) Bacon was EXCELLENT thick cut & flavorful 2.) All 3 kids LOVED their pancakes 3.) Server was delightful but not great. Now the bad 1.) Ambiance - maybe it was just where I was sitting but the place is ultra dark but allows an insane amount of natural light in. The two contrasted and caused nausea w/ minor headache, so I was forced to wear sunshade in side, it completely ruined my mood & experience. 2.) No one liked their eggs, and we all got them made differently, which tells me the one making the eggs didn't specialize in eggs. 3.) After a long while looking over the menu and zeroing in on what I was going to eat, I chose the Country Bowl substitute Chicken Sausage for Ham and she said no they dont allow modifications. 4.) Because everyone had placed their orders I was forced to just order on the fly. I chose something I figured they can't mess up which is bacon & eggs. Which I could've cooked at home for much cheaper than I was charged. And I wasn't even in the mood for that. 5.) After ordering bacon & eggs the delightful waitress recommended I get a waffle as well, I asked to add Chocolate Chip which in my mind would've been spread around the Waffle instead it was clumped down. I was charged extra for the waffle & the chocolate lol 6.) Inflation is kicking all of our butts so I get the need to charge more but 20/meal is crazy. With those prices I do expect better everything.

Always wanted to try this place out but was disappointed by the food. Service and atmosphere were excellent. Seated fairly quickly on a weekend day, late lunch time. Super happy waitress that checked on us often. Coffee served in cute and sturdy custom branded mugs. But sadly the pancakes were smaller than I'm used to at most brunch places nowadays, and somewhat dry. It doesn't have much flavor in its own either. The omelet is unique looking like it came out of some special half circle shaped cast iron but I think this process made it dry too. The Swiss cheese used in my vegetarian omelette was also not a good choice. It is rubber and doesn't melt. With many outstanding local breakfast places nearby, unfortunately OHP won't be a regular for us.

It has been quite awhile since the wife and I stopped in for breakfast at OPH. We were able to join the waitlist while in route and by the time we got there we were seated within 3-5 minutes. The table and floor beneath had just been thoroughly cleaned and our server Rae quickly greeted us. She delightfully took our drink order and gave us some time to look over the menu. I settled on the biscuits no gravy and the wife went with strawberry pancakes. On a busy Saturday morning, we anticipated the 15-ish minute wait for our meals. The food was seriously delicious and Rae made our experience so very pleasant. To that affect, all of the staff were super kind and attentive. It was really great to see. With how popular this restaurant is, you can imagine it gets loud when they're busy and some patrons let their kids run around like feral cats. Pack your patience... the food and service is worth is.

Dutch Baby and Chicken Apple Link Sausage

A family style restaurant, The Original Pancake House is similar to those other family style restaurants (iHop/Denny's) but in my opinion better. The restaurant was bustling and all the employees had smiles on their faces, helpful and happy. Our waiter was knowledgeable not only with the menu, but also the city of Puyallup engaging and taking time in a nice conversation. We found the place clean and inviting. I ordered the Dutch Baby as I do each time I visit. Perfectly made, with butter, powdered sugar and lemon on the side. I'm glad I added the side of Chicken Apple sausage. Closing time is 2pm.

There's ample parking that's paved or across the street on gravel. The food looked amazing in photos, but I wouldn't say it was as good as it looked or sounded in descriptions. It was generally very tasty, but everything felt like it was missing just one ingredient that would make it better. It could be that I'm just more used to ethnic flavors and these were just not quite hitting the mark. For example the stratciatella was good, but if the whipped ricotta was a little more fluffy and there was some extra black pepper or lemon added it would have been perfect. The pork belly was a little dry and not worth the price for just three pieces. The thick cut truffle fries were very good however. We also tried the bucatini and it was nice but still I wanted a little more kick. It has spice but just needs a little something to punch it up. The steak sandwich two of the three of us sharing a meal loved and I'd say was the best thing we ate. The service staff was kind, considerate and gave us time and made sure our drinks were filled. There are still a lot of dishes I'd like to try and since I loved the area, it would be worth coming back again.

We joined the online waitlist at 1:00 PM on a Sunday. While we were seated fairly quickly, we still had to wait in a long line just to speak with the host to check in. The restaurant was completely packed well past 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once we sat down. It took forever just to place our order. Our chowder arrived about 10 minutes later, but it tasted like it came straight out of a can, and the accompanying dinner roll was completely flavorless and factory-made. Since we were hungry, we ate it quickly anyway. It took 45 minutes for our entrees--a Country Fried Steak and a California Benedict--to arrive. By 3:00 PM, we were famished, which made it all the more disappointing to discover our food was cold, soggy, and hard. The cubed fries, scrambled eggs, and English muffin tasted like they had been sitting on a counter for 20 minutes before being brought to our table. For a restaurant advertising a "farm-to-table" concept, the eggs, salad, croutons, and muffin felt entirely mass-produced. The service was equally disappointing; our server never returned to refill our water. While the atmosphere is nice and the space is large enough to fit over 100 people, they seemed severely understaffed. The host stand was backed up, it took too long to order, and the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed. For $23 a plate, I expect significantly better quality in both the food and the service.

West Pioneer Grill was walking distance and one that we haven't visited before, so we decided to give it a try. We clearly made it before the market rush because there were a good amount of tables open and we were seated immediately - 10 minutes later the place was nearly full. Definitely casual vibes here but that's what we were looking for. Our server, Jesse (easy to remember because that's my husband's name LOL), was great and we didn't have too long of a wait for anything. Limited selection of alcoholic beverages. I got a bottled Space Dust and my husband is a cider drinker but they didn't have any, so he also went with a beer. They do also have some liquor options. If you're a milkshake fanatic, we saw a milkshake menu that had to have at least 30 options on it! We weren't starving so we decided to split the fish tacos and it was the perfect amount. The tacos were good and were a generous size. We loved the sauce that they had it topped with, definitely pulled the entire dish together. Our son got some chicken strips and naturally, he loved them. We tried them and they were good - plus the ranch they have is BOMB. Very dilly, and really good! I think the only negative thing I really noticed was that the restaurant didn't feel the cleanest (observations from bathroom + flies) but could just have been an off day. Glad we checked out this spot and would definitely come back in the future for their extensive milkshake options!
