We thought with the ratings the food wasn't going to be good, but everything had good flavor. The only one of issue was the Irish omelette, it was INSANELY dry, flavor was there but DRY. The pecan waffles had an orange marmalade syrup that complimented well, the cornflake texture on the French toast was "5/5 amazing" according to daughter 1 that had it. Pancakes were fluffy with a good buttermilk flavor, all was well executed. The bad/indifferent, the service. This was barely above ok, did their jobs and were somewhat nice about it. Our original server was a little on the rude side, but whatever, we ended up with a different one who was a lot nicer once we moved tables (they were understanding of the table move, we were right inside the door originally) Overall, food was good, would go back for that. We had a wonderful breakfast here! We managed to time it perfectly, because we walked right up and got a table for two. We have waited a long time for a table in the past, and many people who came after us had a wait, as well. We did wait a bit long for our food, but we weren't in a hurry, so it wasn't a big deal. I'm a vegan, so I asked if they had any vegan options and our server said no, everything was made with eggs and milk (I clarified he was talking about the pancakes). They had a veggie bowl on the menu, so I ordered that with the eggs and Hollandaise on the side for my husband. I also got some dry marbled rye, which were nice, thick slices. The bowl was really good! It hand seasoned potatoes, broccoli, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and spinach. My husband got the chicken-fried steak, which was almost as big as the plate! Because everyone had placed their orders I was forced to just order on the fly. I chose something I figured they can't mess up which is bacon & eggs. Which I could've cooked at home for much cheaper than I was charged. And I wasn't even in the mood for that. 5.) After ordering bacon & eggs the delightful waitress recommended I get a waffle as well, I asked to add Chocolate Chip which in my mind would've been spread around the Waffle instead it was clumped down. I was charged extra for the waffle & the chocolate lol 6.) Inflation is kicking all of our butts so I get the need to charge more but 20/meal is crazy. Always wanted to try this place out but was disappointed by the food. Service and atmosphere were excellent. Seated fairly quickly on a weekend day, late lunch time. Super happy waitress that checked on us often. Coffee served in cute and sturdy custom branded mugs. But sadly the pancakes were smaller than I'm used to at most brunch places nowadays, and somewhat dry. It doesn't have much flavor in its own either. The omelet is unique looking like it came out of some special half circle shaped cast iron but I think this process made it dry too. The Swiss cheese used in my vegetarian omelette was also not a good choice. It is rubber and doesn't melt. WTF. I understand you have to me a new look. But your staffs lack of awareness is not good. We had a male waiter and he forgot about us. My daughter's food came out after few minutes after everyone else. Bad thing is everything she ordered should have been easy to cook. He only came by once and the kids water cups were empty. It has been quite awhile since the wife and I stopped in for breakfast at OPH. We were able to join the waitlist while in route and by the time we got there we were seated within 3-5 minutes. The table and floor beneath had just been thoroughly cleaned and our server Rae quickly greeted us. She delightfully took our drink order and gave us some time to look over the menu. I settled on the biscuits no gravy and the wife went with strawberry pancakes. On a busy Saturday morning, we anticipated the 15-ish minute wait for our meals. The food was seriously delicious and Rae made our experience so very pleasant. To that affect, all of the staff were super kind and attentive. It was really great to see. The restaurant was bustling and all the employees had smiles on their faces, helpful and happy. Their bacon is delicious and they have a sign if front with a QR code so you can reserve your place in line...that's where the positives end. Also available on the QR code is a menu so you can decide what you're going to order. The problem we found out is the menu has not been updated. When we ordered, we were told the prices were different (more of course) and they would not honor the menu price they had on the app. We waited almost 45 minutes for our food. We both ordered bacon and eggs. I also had pancakes and my wife had the fried potatoes. The price was $18 for each order. The portions (except for the bacon) were very small and of just average quality. Considering the prices, their lack of customer service, the quality and quantity of the food, don't waste your time. Visited on 7/13 aprx 8:20am We are regulars here. 2 stars because the manager was EXTREMELY RUDE! We ordered the Apple pancake with a side of bacon to have with it. We know the apple pancake takes much longer than the average breakfast plates. The manager brought our bacon out at 8:34am. I asked where's the pancake. She rudely said "its coming it takes a minute" ok fine several minutes go by still no pancake. I finally asked our server Kim (who is FABULOUS), to please take the bacon back and bring it to us hot with the pancake. She happily obliged, and told us she put the order in to come out together. She was also puzzled as to why we received the bacon so early. We continue to wait.....food finally comes out together at about 8:50am. Which I'll give 4.5 stars for the food. I mentioned to the manager that she indeed brought the bacon way to early and had we not sent it back it would've been very cold. Living in Puyallup, I've passed by this location for almost a year before finally stopping in to try it out, and I wish I'd given into my gut feeling sooner. The service is phenomenal, you can make a reservation online, and when you arrive, you're sat within 10-15 minutes, with a table ready for you. Wait time for a seat - Very short Hostesses are extremely kind and well mannered, also very attentive to the tables they're waitressing. I haven't had a better experience with the wait staff than with The Pancake House! Anytime a water cup was near empty, our waitress approached us by asking if we'd like a refill or if we needed anything else. The taste and flavors of the food are wonderful, taste like Mommas home cooking growing up! Eggs are accurate as you ask for them, I go with a hard scramble, I love some golden brown on my eggs, and they delivered! Pricing is $$, for a breakfast/brunch spot I'd have figured about 15-20% less than what the menu has. All in all I highly recommend giving The Pancake House an opportunity to wow you for it's customer service experience, dining comfort, and tasteful dishes!
