Looks like another eatery has succumbed to cutting corners with food quality. I ordered a full size Cobb salad and customized it. The salad ingredients were terrible. Lettuce that looked soggy and old. Overstuffed my salad with spinach (an add on I made), the hardboiled eggs tasted like they were stale, the dressing was literally watered down, the pickled onions were so cold like they had just been defrosted (blech). The only decent thing to eat was the apple. I can say, however, the customer service was great. I had used the app to order, the customization was correct and the people working there were helpful. Not sure what was going on today at Panera. Long lines with one register open. There was no regular coffee in the pot, they brought us Potato soup instead of clam chowder, no silverware, told to use plastic with the soup, the Clam chowder was watery and couldn't find any clams in it, roll was burnt and lettuce in salad brown and wilted. We were there about 30 minutes and still no coffee so asked for a refund. Oh and one of our plates was chipped...Won't return. read more

They really can't get your order right. This morning, I ordered a bacon and egg sandwich and got no bacon. Last time I went, I ordered a chocolate chip bagel and was given a cinnamon bagel. The time before that, I ordered a warm baja bowl and it was missing avocado. Regularly I checkmark no utensils or say no utensils but have utensils provided to me. When I was in there today I heard a member of the staff saying they were "going to show *other location* who the best staff is" - I'm unsure about which location you mentioned ma'am, but they almost certainly have a better staff than this location. The food is mediocre, overpriced, and worst services. They take too freaky long to make a sandwiches which are already messy afterwards and they consistently forget to deliver my drinks -- or they just get my order wrong altogether. I tried to call the customer service to speak to a manager but no one picks up the phone. Understand that if they get your order wrong, or items are missing from the order, there is no way to get a refund from the website or by calling the local business phone number. There is a Panera Bread near where I live, and I have been to it many times. I'm not a big fan of Panera Bread, but I can usually find something there that is at least okay. While on the road and looking for something relatively quick, we stopped at this Panera Bread location. I remember Elite Yelper Marthie D. talking up the macaroni and cheese, and I decided to get it with a half sandwich. I got a turkey sandwich on toast with cheddar, sun-dried tomato and a chipotle sauce. The sandwich is supposed to come with chicken, but the server thought they were out of chicken (but it turns out they had both chicken and turkey). I opted for the turkey since I've never been that impressed with the chicken at Panera Bread. The sandwich was okay but definitely not something to write home about. The macaroni and cheese which had a creamy white cheddar sauce was pretty good. Nice pasta and a flavorful cheese sauce. For a quick and cheap place, it was pretty good. Tasty chips also came with it. They were also featuring a special where you could add a dessert for 99 cents. I added the apple Danish (which I've always liked there). The apples and cream were nice, but the pastry had gone soft. In terms of value, it was a pretty good deal. I think the total before tax was about $8 for the half sandwich, chips (you can also get a baguette or apple), macaroni and cheese (you can also get a side salad or soup), and the apple danish (cookies also available). This location had a very large dining room. And unlike other Panera Breads I've been to, they bring the food to your table. Outdoor dining is also available. Parking is free (large shared lot for the shopping plaza). read more

The baked goods are pretty darn good. They also have some good bagels, but the help always seems disoriented. I mean they don't work well together. And management isn't much better. You stand around and wait to be helped. I used to come more often for coffee and a bagel but got tired of the poor service. Sometimes they have a line pout the door and the staff looks confused and dazed. A few times I ordered a pannini, it was just average. My wife and I recently dined at your Riverside location, and the experience was less than stellar. MyPanera Number: 203326890159, and your website stated you offer power bowls, the restaurant did not. When we expressed our concern regarding the lack of accurate information the cashier explained she could still make it, it just wouldn't appear that way on the receipt. We thanked her for accommodating our request and kindly waited for our food- this was Sunday march 1st at 10:04am. When our food was brought to us, we were presented with a sandwich, and the server stated very bluntly-that we weren't charged for it so there was nothing she could do. Calmly, I expressed my concerns and what had transpired with the cashier, and she took the sandwich back and requested my power bowl. 30 minutes later, no food, no follow up, and no power bowl. When I took my concerns to the expo team, they explained that they no longer make power bowls and that they could make me something else-thanks for telling me! My wife had finished her food, and I was not in the mood to wait for another order, I requested my money back which the manager complied with, but didn't even apologize for the poor service. For someone who frequently visits your restaurant I must say, even McDonanlds offers better service then what I received yesterday. I do not feel I will ever return on my own volition, and will elect to go to Corner Bakery next time. read more

Will never go back!!! The Line was almost out the door with only one cashier working. Then I got my cup of soup I ordered (which is $7 for just a cup!) and it was cold. I asked someone working there if I can get hot soup and he told me there is a microwave to warm it. I couldn't believe it! You mean to tell me I ordered a CUP of soup for $7 and I have to put it microwave myself!!!!! And when I got it out of microwave I almost burned my hand taking the cup out and not to mention that microwaves are bad for you! Oh and btw the bread I got with it was cold as well. Went in to get a breakfast sandwich. It was supposed to come with scrambled eggs. They gave me that over easy egg patty. I hate runny eggs. I called to ask why they did that. They said, "We ran out of scrambled eggs." That's it. No one wanted to explain that to me beforehand? They didn't even offer an apology or solution. I had to ask for a refund. She said they are making it now. 10 minutes later i asked to speak to the manager. The lady wrote something my friend and I couldn't understand. Would not summon the manager and said my salad is ready - 25 minutes later as there weren't that many customers before me. I asked someone else to get me the manager. The manager wasn't very communicative nor was she sympathetic. Told me to wait. Waited nearly 10 minutes. She never returned. A couple of employees were nice, but that lady and the manager - their behaviors were unacceptable. Later that night my other friend asked to eat at Panera Bread. Caught a movie matinee this afternoon with a friend and of course hunger struck afterwards. Panera's is a short walk from the theater. The counter "kids" were just delightful.... Helpful and very cheery. Great service. Our food arrived really quickly, no complaints there. My friend order the French Onion Soup and sandwich. The soup was so thick it was like hot pudding, (lacking the "finish"...large crouton "lid" and melted cheese)--but she ate it all---didn't look appealing to me at all. I had a turkey avocado BLT. The "inside" of the sandwich was yummy. Huge pieces of real carved turkey. But the BREAD.....it was cold, (I mean refrigerator COLD) dry and not real appetizing. I peeled off the crust and left it. I come here a lot since I work at the Plaza. It's a great place to pick up a tasteful healthy meal here. Whenever I come here, I always do the Pick Two special. I get the smoked turkey breast sandwich with an Asian sesame chicken salad. NOOOOOOM. So gooooooood. I know I could make that turkey sandwich myself at home, but I'm a lazy. Hahaha. That Asian sesame chicken salad is the freaking best salad ever. You get this ginger sauce with lettuce, crispy wonton strips, cilantro, almonds, chicken, and some sesame seeds. It's soooo good. As for breakfast, their cinnamon crunch bagels are heavenly. The service here is always pretty fast for the crowds they get here. I never had a problem for them being too slow. I haven't been to Panera in a while, so we decided to go tonight. My husband got his wisdom teeth pulled a couple of days ago, and wanted something soft to eat. I ordered him the Alfredo tortellini, and I wanted to buy my favorite asiago cheese bread(super soft) They only had bagels and pretty much no loaves of bread. So I settled for bagels , which were rock solid(didn't know till I got home) When I received my husbands tortellini, it was in a large bowl, but the portion was very small(for $10!!) this was a to go order, so imagine my shock when I got all the way home!! What a waste of money for 4 "rocks" and a bowl of air. I definitely won't be going back!! Shame on me for wanting a break from cooking, and having someone else do it!! I have learned my lesson. Next time I'll just cook it myself!! Also, on a side note, I don't know why they don't make loaves of bread for the dinner rush?? If you don't get in there early to get one, then you are out of luck!! Super disappointed!! I have been coming to this Panera for the past two years. If there was another Panera within the vicinity of Riverside, I would DEFINITELY NEVER come back to this location. Never fails to disappoint me. Dining in or to-go the incompetent workers never seem to get my order right. I don't think it's too much to ask for for a couple pickles or to have my apple sliced. So I learned to always check my bag before leaving. On this occasion, i checked my bag and didn't see my nicely wrapped pickles, so I went back to the bar and asked the lady if she packed my pickles. Only to my surprise when i get home that they are in fact NOT THERE! I like this Panera Bread, well I like them all. I love soups and sandwiches, and their ingredients are so fresh. It's in the Riverside Plaza so there are a lot of other shops and restaurants around to go to. There is a parking lot which fills up fast but usually I get a spot fairly close. I would give it a five except for two things. Their condiment and drink area always seems to be dirty, and wet, or just not stocked and organized. Also they do not have enough staff to process orders especially during peak lunch and dinner times. On more than one occasion I have opted to go elsewhere like to Wendy's or Chipolte when I see the line is almost out the door and they have 1 person working the counter. They will wait forever to add another counter person. But all in all a good place that I enjoy going to. read more

Got to knock it down. I haven't been to Panera in a while and returned today for lunch. During the summer everything was fresh and delish, but now that they keep the same menu the food just wasn't great. I got the mediterranean veggie sandwich (shame on me for ordering out-of-season veggies) - the cucumbers were shriveled, the tomatoes had an awful texture, and the hummus tasted off. Luckily I had gotten it as part of a You Pick Two, and the Caesar Salad was alright. Also, it used to be 99 cents for a cookie if you got a sandwich. Now you need to get a drink too. Ripoff! Typically I am always content with the quality of the food at Panera. However, Customer service at this location has been 50/50 so far with me. To be critical manegerial staff lack any sense of friendliness. The cooking staff seem to have it together though, so kudos to them! Prices are high for the small portions of food though. I decided to be adventurous and ordered a bagel, the asiago cheese bagel. They ask you if you want your bagel toasted and if you want any spread. I really do like Panera and their healthier options. While it may take longer than drive thru foods, the freshness is really worth it. Many times I've called in orders for my office and also for my family on a busy night. Why only 3 stars then? Unfortunately in the many years of ordering takeout, they invariably mess up an order. We tried their new rapid order app and while it was prepared quickly and ready to go at pickup, you guessed it...another messed up order. When someone is ordering additions which cost more than the standard price, someone should be checking. It's frustrating so I would advise anyone ordering takeout to check your order before you leave, each sandwich one by one.
