I wish there was a minus star because I came in tonight and ordered a Smokey Buffalo sandwich and got all the way home opened it up and there were literally two pieces of chicken and a squirt of sauce, three slices of onion and nothing else on my sandwich! Panera Bread is just overpriced hospital food to me. It's quick, it's easy, the portions are mostly lackluster and the food is just meh. I've given Panera Bread many a shot - many. Here and a few other branches as well. It's the same all over the place. I've learned to stop coming because it's expensive, not even remotely worth it, and they get my order wrong more than half the time (which sounds like a common issue). I'm not sure if I've eaten at a Panera before, but I've tried their sandwiches and salads (catering). I didn't know what to order, but decided to get the sausage & pepperoni flatbread pizza. They were advertising this new menu item. It was average. When I took a bite of pizza, all the toppings would start sliding off. What I really enjoyed was the kitchen sink cookie- om nom nom! I've been here about 5-6 times over the last several months. Each time, I always try to greet the staff and ask how they're doing before they take my order. However, I'm always met with a sour attitude and no interest in giving a warm welcome. It's really disturbing so I don't think I'll be back. I am not a huge fan of this location. While the cookie cutter store is clean, orderly and smells of delicious baked bread, I have yet to get an order that is correct. It doesn't seem to matter if you order on the app or in person, count on your drink being different than ordered and food missing key ingredients. While some of the staff seem really friendly, a few have acted confrontational when asked for a missing (already paid for) item. What the hell has happened to Panera??!! This chain used to be good, bigger pastries, larger portions....employees that cared about how your food was prepped and packaged. No longer the case. About 5 years ago after noticing an obvious subpar product all of a sudden being served, i was told by an manager that they had switched providers/vendors for all their bread and pastries. It was such an obvious downgrade, probably saving money while still charging the same if not greater price to their customers. Well nothing has changed. Just put an online order in totaling $50. I dont mind paying for a great experience, good food etc. But i cant remember feeling this ripped off! Small cup of mac and cheese :$8! Can you at least fill the small cup? Not 1/2 filled like it was. Couldnt believe it. My wife's sandwhich (chicken avacado melt) upon viewing it looked like 2 pieces of bread with nothing in it! And thats because there was barely anything in it! Almost $12 for that and what looked like a child's size soup. To top it off i needed 1 cinnamon roll. Online said "out of stock". Yet their 4 pack for nearly $12 was IN Stock..?? The disappointment came while looking in the bag and seeing 4 individually bagged cinnamon rolls, all with the bags smashed into the icing. Thought they were out of the single ones?? I bought 4 only needing one. Nice moves Panera. Glad i checked the bag since only 3 of the 5 items were in it as well. Also, its a bad sign when no Mgr, GM etc are responding to their negative reviews on yelp. Panera, you do not care about your food quality, serving sizes, costs, and more importantly your customers. I spent my entire break at this location waiting for fruit cup! They are normally in the refrigerated case, but not this morning. When I ordered it, there was no indication from the staff that "we are making fruit cups" or "we are out of fruit cups". Instead I waited and waited. Finally, I asked for a refund. Also, I want to say I feel bad for Rebecca, the cashier, for the way she was treated by the female manager on duty at 7am. The manager was condescending, rude and disrespectful in the way she communicated with Rebecca. We ordered take out as we were staying in a nearby hotel. I always order the Apple chicken salad in other Panara Bread Restaurants as they are always fresh and very good. I will never order from the Natomas Panara again, the salad was anything but fresh. I threw out most of the lettuce as it was brown and wilted, the tomatoes were shriveled, the red onion was also limp and brown, and the chicken was processed. They just threw the slice of bread in the bag with our other items. Pretty tacky. If you ever go to Portland, the one in Clackamas Town Center is exceptional. They always have fresh food. Consistently good food and great service. I like this Panera over the one in front of Target. It has a welcoming inviting dining area, kinda has a cozy home feel. They keep it clean. Love the fireplace that they turn on during the cold California winter days. Awesome outdoor patio with tables and patio umbrellas to enjoy the outdoors, but they don't have outdoor heaters for the colder weather. Dog friendly patio. Free WiFi and lots of electric outlets inside. Fresh baked loaves of breads, danishes, and cookies. Decent coffee and bagels. Fresh made to order salads and sandwiches. Soups and pastas. Breakfast sandwiches and mini quiches. My faves are the chocolate chip bagel and whipped cream cheese, turkey chili, Greek salad, chicken salad sandwich, and tri tip and arugula sandwich. The side choices for the combinations are bagged chips, slice of baguette, or whole apple. Appreciate the options. Overall the pricing is higher than a Subway, but cheaper than a restaurant. However this is a order and pay at the counter place, and you pick up your own food. Frequent flyers should sign up for the rewards program. You can order using the app. If you are in the store, you can choose to order in the self help checkout kiosk (card payments only, no cash) or talk to a human person. I like the human touch. Omg - this Panera is horrible! My wife order food for pickup and I made a couple of stops along the way, figuring it would be ready by the time I got there...oh no, not only was it not ready (pickup/ready time was 12:35 - I was there at 12:50) but the staff did not seem to care. People were milling about coming up to the counter asking if there food was ready. Now - I understand everywhere these days are short staffed, I get it. I am always nice to people working in restaurants because it's a hard job dealing with people all the time. That being said - it's probably a good idea to treat the customers with at least a little bit of common courtesy. I mean offer me a free soda or something for not having my food ready on time and making me wait - and the side order of attitude (the I'm too good for this job Gen Z crap) plus the wife left a tip! It was ok at first, I have high tolerance for little setbacks like that, and the cashier was apologetic. She blatantly reprimanded me in front of the employees and other customers for "stepping on the line", which was a total lie. Instead of pacifying the situation, she made it worse. This time, I didn't let her get away with her bad attitude. I yelled back at her for always being rude (to us). I don't know if other patrons experience the same rudeness and wintry attitude from this specific manager. The manager at this store (cafe #202202) has the worst customer service. The chocolate is not just chunks like some but looks piped in and the chocolate is not too sweet. Their food is always fresh. The restaurant itself is located in the marketplace plaza where there is an abundance of parking. Inside, the ac is on, a great way to avoid the 100+ degree temp this weekend. Even at lunch time on a weekend, there was no line and there were an abundance of tables available. The food came out within 5 mins. However, I would have rather waited longer for a better quality meal. The food: I ordered from the pick 2 menu and had a roasted turkey and avocado BLT paired with their new england clam chowder. The sandwich was just cold and the avocado was browning. Some changes I would make to that if given the option are: - use fresh avocado - toast or heat up the bacon instead of using precooked ones for extra yumminess - toast the sourdough bread If these extra steps were taken, I feel like my money would have been more worth my money and I would come back to order it again. Maybe I'll stick to panini's. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the soup. There wasn't any sand and the soup was flavorful and not too watery. It went really well with the baguette. I used to love going here for a quick and convienent meal when I was in college. It has been awhile since and I was craving the chicken frontega panini and creamy tomato soup. First, I noticed that the menu changed to chicken frontega (toasted). I assumed that is the same consistent chicken frontega panini and boy was I wrong. I wish I had a picture of what it looked like before, but it used to have grill marks from the panini machine. It looks like they use the same focaccia bread but it just doesn't taste the same. The tomato soup used to taste homemade, but on my latest visit it tasted like store bought can tomato soup. I am so disappointed in the quality. I hope this was just an off day. I will not likely come back for lunch as it was less than mediocre in my opinion for an $11 pick two meal. However, I might come back and check out the breakfast menu. My unit at work does a great job of maintaining employing morale by recognizing and celebrating staff birthdays. On one particular occasion, a co-worker of mine had an upcoming birthday and specifically asked that we not make a "big deal" of his birthday. Being that coffee is generally a universal beverage of choice for most celebrations, I decided that a coffee traveler box would be my "small time" contribution towards the celebration. The morning of the celebration, I called this Panera Bread location (not to be confused with the Panera Bread located on North Freeway Blvd. within The Promenade) and placed an order for a coffee traveler box that would serve up to twelve people. I was told that the traveler box would be ready in thirty minutes. Thirty minutes later, I was paying for the coffee traveler and observed the manager (whom I spoke to on the phone) pouring a fresh batch of light roast coffee into the traveler box (perfect timing). Not only was the coffee piping hot (the word "piping" cracks me up for some reason); but the manager also went the extra mile and provided me with eight coffee cups, coffee cup sleeves, coffee cup lids, sugar packets, and an assortment of creamers. Exceptional, expedited customer service...now that is my cup of coffee (yes I am corny)! read more

What's going on at this Panera? (Del Paso in Natomas) Last several times I went in, there were no quiches available (my favorite) and this is over a couple months' time. The bacon egg cheese brioche sandwich was tasteless (today 4/21/23). There was no coffee (light or dark roast) and the half and half container was empty, so we had wait 5 minutes for a cup of coffee.
