    Chicken sandwich

I've been to kiwis for maybe 8 years now. The Kiki fries are good, the chicken salad is amazing but their chicken sandwich is phenomenal! Pair that with the macaroni salad, and a cold drink and you can't go wrong.

Ordered the Kikis Fries (sweet potato waffle fries, medium size, buffalo style). It was really good.

Kiki's is one of my husband's favorite quick dinner spots. He loves getting their fries and tenders. I prefer their chicken sandwich over the tenders since it has lettuce, tomato, onion, Mayo cheese and pickles to add extra flavor and some veggies. We've ordered delivery a couple times, but usually we'll pick it up and bring it home ourselves. The parking lot always has plenty of spots and the staff have always been welcoming and helpful when we come in to pick up orders. There is a lot of seating here as well as multiple TVs. On our latest visit they had playoff basketball on. It seems like a lot of people grab to go orders or order off delivery services. We saw quite a few come through while we waited for our food. I really appreciate that they serve three types of fries- regular, shoestring and tots. My preference are tots and then the shoestring ones. The portion size is also really generous the medium is definitely shareable and the large size could be split with a small group easily. They also have really great ranch. I recommend ordering some extra sauces especially if you order just the chicken.

Tremendous service, the food was so delicious, and the ambiance was excellent. I highly recommend coming to this location because we had our food out within minutes of ordering for six people. We are returning again!

Kiki's sauce, that sweet spicy garlicky sauce just YUM! So do you think I might like their sauce ? I always get the 8 tenders 8 wings family meal at Kiki's cuz its a lot of food, it taste great and I love to eat Lmao. You also get 3 sides and drinks for about $45. The tenders are big and meaty the wings are juicy and crispy dunk either one in Kiki's original sauce and you have a match made in chicken heaven. If you're craving some chicken give Kiki's a try.

I usually go to the location in downtown Sac, but decided to come here to try it out! Was not disappointed. I was introduced to Kiki's by a friend and have been addicted ever since! Portions are crazy big here, I think they might be a bit bigger than the portions from the one downtown! I ordered a medium and probably have enough leftovers to last me for 2 extra meals. Service was great, they greeted us kindly when we walked in and the food came out quickly to match. They also have a deal where if you order $50 worth of food, you get 5 wings of your flavor choice for free! We ended up at $49.99 and the cashier just gave us the wings anyway since we were off by a penny. The food was great, standard of Kiki's to have reliable late-night munchie food! The chicken was crispy and they definitely packed on the cheese that I asked for extra of.

Chicken and Kikis Tots (with Chicken)

The chicken & tots I ordered were SO DRY, barely any ranch sauce or cheese on them! So I ask the lady if she can put more on it and heat it back up afterwards and she SAID NO & GAVE ME A SIDE OF COLD CHEESE & ranch dressing!!? Like what am I supposed to do take it home and throw it all in the microwave?? DEFINITELY NOT EVER COMING HERE AGAIN

We ordered on doordash and everything, especially the tots, tasted like old oil and had no other flavor.

Ask the Community - Kiki's Chicken Place

My friend Omar is asking if the chicken is Halal?

    Yes

Is the cheese on the fries the nacho cheese kind? Can the fries be made with real shredded cheese instead?

No nacho cheese, it's real, shredded mozzarella. If your talking about the kiki fries or tots with the hot sauce, blue cheese or ranch and or chicken too.

My to-go order is the Hornet on a Dutch crunch roll with everything on it except mustard. Make it a combo with chips and a drink, and you'll have an incredible lunch. The ambiance is different from other sandwich spots in midtown. The chairs and tables are older and worn, and it's small inside, but it's also inside an old house that was converted into a restaurant. That alone makes this place unique. People hang out inside or outside with friends and enjoy the vibes. There's a real sense of community that the Sandwich Spot brings along with uniquely crafted sandwiches. The restaurant is in a really cool old Victorian house, and the staff were super friendly. The interior was clean and looked like a nice place to dine in, but I ended up taking my order to go. I ordered the #19 with turkey, prosciutto, avocado, and swiss on a dutch crunch roll. The bread had just gone into the oven, so we had to wait about 10 minutes, but I can't complain because it was baked fresh to order. Overall, I thought the sandwich was very good, but honestly not quite as amazing as people online had made it out to be. It was definitely good, but I don't know if I'd be dying to go back when I think Ike's, Mr. Pickle's, Corti Bros, and maybe even Nugget or Sprouts make more interesting sandwiches. To me, those places use slightly higher quality ingredients as well, though maybe I just didn't order the best sandwich here. Overall, it was a good sandwich and a good experience. My expectations were probably just a little too high. I wouldn't be dying to come back but also wouldn't say no if someone wanted to go there for lunch.

I picked the turkey sandwich box and it was ok on sourdough bread, but the bread was kind of tasteless and stuck to my teeth so it was not great. It was light and tasted like some kind of delicious wheat if no one told me I'd not known it was gluten free. The turkey filling was more generous in the gluten free sandwich than the boxed full sandwich, not sure why that is. The salad was delicious, the oil based dressing was tart but had some kind of sweetness added that really brought out the umami flavor. The chocochip cookie was soft, sweet, and crumbled but still moist and a little bit chewy, totally hit the spot for the end of the meal. All in all, delicious deli sandwiches and sides from Tony's. Not sure about service but the presentation was good, making the ambiance tasteful and inviting.

Upon walking in, the music was so loud it was overstimulating, making it hard to even hear the cashier. They were already out of sourdough and wheat bread, and the Arnold Palmer I ordered tasted almost entirely like lemonade. The sandwiches were prepared quickly and looked great initially, but while eating mine, I bit down on something hard and spit out a piece of glass. Finding glass in food is a serious safety hazard that could cause severe harm. I called immediately, and they offered a refund or a replacement sandwich. When I returned around 3:15 PM, the shop was closing early because they ran out of bread entirely. When I mentioned my call to the staff member up front, she dismissed me, saying she couldn't help because they were out of bread. After I clarified that I just wanted the refund I agreed on with the manager, she handed me off to someone else without another word. Instead of an apology for serving a dangerous foreign object in my food, the staff handed me cash (even though I paid by card) and essentially brushed me off with a poor attitude. Mistakes happen, but finding glass in my meal combined with zero accountability or basic customer service ensures I will never return

Due to a terribly inconvenient Amtrak cancellation, the water I packed ran out and my breakfast became a distant memory. I decided to order the garlic pesto turkey sandwich along with a painful bottle of water (For some reason Amtrak has no working water fountains) and small signature mac & cheese for sustenance. My order number was called quickly--too quickly. Staff forgot my mac & cheese, and after a gentle reminder I was presented with a truly small steaming cup. The claim is that the side dish is made with a blend of three cheeses and a touch of spice, but it tastes flat, like melted cheddar cheese mixed with too much milk. My cheese craving was fulfilled, and that would be all Sourdough's signature mac & cheese is good for. It's mediocre. As for the sandwich, what I received wasn't pesto. While I was mentally recalculating my schedule, I noticed what I'm eating should have basil. Peering into what I was chewing, the sandwich was predominantly orange from a sauce I don't recognize and yellow from the mustard. My pesto sandwich wasn't green. No matter, mistakes were made and I'll just save the food for tomorrow. I didn't feel like getting the attention of the employee glued to her phone, crouched out of view behind the counter. I meant to take a picture of my sandwich for this review, but a man kept staring at my bag. He tried asking if he could see my sandwich a few times in broken English. I asked "Do you want my sandwich?" He looked sheepish and said no, no. I asked him again, more firmly. "Well, don't have to. Don't have to have whole sandwich," he said. "You could give half. If you want. Very hungry." I gave my sandwich wordlessly. He gave a quick thank you, unwrapped the package and wolfed down my mediocre leftovers. Again, perhaps I should have fasted, saving a precious $22.50 and bought only water--but at least one man was fed and satisfied.

It's like most sandwich spots with tables, chairs and a restroom for customers. You're probably not pulling out your laptop to do any work or catch a vibe there unless listening to music and sending emails in a sandwich restaurant is your thing. My go-to order is the Amuna's Tuna on Dutch crunch with everything on it except jalapeños. If you're feeling a little lucky, you can get a combo meal with chips and a drink. For starters, Ike's has its own way of doing things: plain mayo is not their thing. Only way to get plain mayo on a sandwich is to get lucky that there's a smidgen still left in a jar in the fridge after they prepare their house spread. They mix GARLIC and gawd knows what else for spices to make their Ike's sauce, so allergies beware. They offer plain mustard, but not plain mayo? For seconds, the sandwich bread is not up to the challenge of holding together the mountain of fillings inside. Pics prove my point. I want to eat a sandwich with my hands, not a plastic fork (or a shovel). And I don't want to wear it, not in public. Proportions, people! One size does not fit all. Now, in fairness, the meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato were fresh, chilled, and flavorful. However, IMHO $2.00+ to add equivalent of half an avocado is robbery when a whole avocado is $1 in the market. Fortunately I arrived when there wasn't another person in the store so I was able order up a plain ham and cheese sub with L, T, and A. The counter person was patient as I attempted to navigate the menu board. I communicated my wish for a simple sandwich and it arrived, albeit ridiculously overstuffed and above my budget expectations. Props for kindness and understanding. My first visit to any shop is always testing how well they do basics. So far, I'm not an Ike's fan. I'm no newcomer to sub sandwiches. At 82, and being a Massachusetts native, I've been a sub girl for at least 75 years, ever since I could wrap my fingers around the perfect sub roll.
