My to-go order is the Hornet on a Dutch crunch roll with everything on it except mustard. Make it a combo with chips and a drink, and you'll have an incredible lunch. The ambiance is different from other sandwich spots in midtown. The chairs and tables are older and worn, and it's small inside, but it's also inside an old house that was converted into a restaurant. That alone makes this place unique. People hang out inside or outside with friends and enjoy the vibes. There's a real sense of community that the Sandwich Spot brings along with uniquely crafted sandwiches. All of the sandwiches are named after people or landmarks in Sacramento. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and will help you with recommendations if you're not sure which sandwich to get. It honestly feels like you're in the company of good friends. The staff joke around and seem to enjoy their job and working together. You won't be disappointed by trying the Sandwich Spot during your next lunch break or on the weekend, hanging out with a friend.

The restaurant is in a really cool old Victorian house, and the staff were super friendly. The interior was clean and looked like a nice place to dine in, but I ended up taking my order to go. I ordered the #19 with turkey, prosciutto, avocado, and swiss on a dutch crunch roll. The bread had just gone into the oven, so we had to wait about 10 minutes, but I can't complain because it was baked fresh to order. Overall, I thought the sandwich was very good, but honestly not quite as amazing as people online had made it out to be. It was definitely good, but I don't know if I'd be dying to go back when I think Ike's, Mr. Pickle's, Corti Bros, and maybe even Nugget or Sprouts make more interesting sandwiches. To me, those places use slightly higher quality ingredients as well, though maybe I just didn't order the best sandwich here. Overall, it was a good sandwich and a good experience. My expectations were probably just a little too high. I wouldn't be dying to come back but also wouldn't say no if someone wanted to go there for lunch.

Everything from the sandwiches to the pasta comes in huge portions and tastes amazing. Their happy hour is honestly one of the best around -- great quality beers with plenty to choose from, and they even serve them in ice-cold mugs, which makes such a difference. They also have plenty to choose from, plus solid non-alcoholic options at really good prices. They're doing $3 mimosas for Mother's Day Sunday (hopefully that becomes permanent because that's a steal). Happy hour runs from 3-7 every day except Sunday. One of my favorite parts is the atmosphere. The shaded patio makes it comfortable even during the heat, and the whole place has this cozy backyard vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. The owners are super personable and actually take time to connect with their customers, which makes the experience feel welcoming and genuine. Definitely worth checking out if you want great food, good drinks, and a laid-back spot with people who genuinely care.

I think it's entirely worth it; it levels up the banh mi as a lunch sandwich so well and makes it extra filling. Regarding the flavor of the banh mi itself, I think it is a great place. The bread is not too crunchy, so if you prefer that, you may have to go somewhere else. They really fill up these sandwiches with a lot of vegetables and meat, which I like a lot. It's not skimped at all, and adding the egg from home just makes it a bit more filling and tasty. the vibe this place gives off is an in-and-out type of area. You order upfront at the cash register, pay right away, get your food, and then eat at a table. It is nothing too fancy, but it is a nice spot to stop for a quick lunch. The inside is very spacious with many four-seater tables that could be moved together for a large party. They also have a very small grocery market inside that sells sauces, snacks, ramen, and Vietnamese ingredients. Don't expect too much, as it is more of a side feature. I did try their pho before and it was okay; I would rate it around a 3.5 out of 5. There could be other places that are better, but as of now, this place is solid. I give five stars for their banh mi because I keep coming back for them. Additionally, the customer service is top-notch. The team is very friendly, so I don't have anything to complain about regarding this place.

So glad we chose this spot. The vibes and food is amazing. It's also dog friendly so a plus for us. I forgot what coffee order we did but we thought it was okay but still got the job done. Tree House Salad w/ Chicken & Avocado 4.5/5 Honestly this salad is exceptional. The dressing is super simple, nothing over powering. The trail mix of berries and nuts were nice added textures. The chicken perfectly seasoned. The avocado, I thought would be in slices but it's pretty much guac and it was super delicious. Tosses together and it was a very pleasant meal. It's also a hug portion enough for me to bring half home to finish later. Highly recommend if you're on a diet and need an alternative to a breakfast burrito. Breakfast Burrito w/ Bacon 4.5/5 My girlfriend ordered this and when I took a bite it was an absolute banger. It's got every texture and flavor bomb you'd want in a breakfast burrito. Bacon is crispy, tortilla nicely toasted with a soft cheey texture, tater tots nice and fluffy with extra added crisp, house salsa delicious and cuts through the richness, mashed beans helped give a creamy earthiness and eggs were perfectly cooked. It's fire and I highly recommend fixing your cravings here. Service 4/5 Friendly staff. They serve your order to you with a number stand. But everything else is self serve from water to cleaning up after yourself. Ambience 4.5/5 Mostly outdoors. Nice and casual dining. Decorations are nice and fun for photo opportunities. Great place to chill with your pup and read a book. Perfect for quick bites as well. Definitely coming back to visit when I get a chance. I chose the corti special ( they chose the meat) i didn't know what to expect but with so many people raving i knew i wouldn't be disappointed. I really recommend using the online feature and allowing 30-60mins, i placed my order and grabbed what i needed from target. By the time i was done so was my sandwich ready for pick up. Plenty of parking in front but i recommend the side as it's less busy with quick ins and outs of cars. I walked in and all the ready orders are placed in a pick up area! Please make sure you pick up YOUR sandwich. I paid and all took about 2-5 mins. Got home and ok this sandwich was huge for $9. They packed on the meat and tbh i don't know what kind of meat it was and don't think i would have ordered it on my own but it was GOOD. I split with my hubby who couldn't even finish his half. My roll was soft and fluffy. Packed with crisp lettuce and fresh tomatoes. Something about fresh veggies that make a sandwich a 10

It is definitely on the expensive side, and I don't think I've ever spent less than $80 when I shop here, but I feel it's worth it every time. I've had their sandwiches before, and they're okay--not anything special--but I mainly come here for the baked goods and unique selection. The store is nice, clean, and usually busy. The only downside is that the parking could be better. Definitely a great place to shop when you're looking for something a little different!
