One of my favorites to visit for lunch or dinner time. Staff is friendly, food is fresh and plenty of great items. My go to favorite is the Salmon plate. Their salmon comes with a chimichurri and roasted red pepper pesto on top that are phenomenal. The entree plate comes with two sides, my favorites are the Mac & Cheese and roasted veggies. However in the summertime they have a lime corn thats phenomenal! Additionally they have salads, sandwiches and bowls. I stopped by my local Jack's Urban Eats for a quick salad on a hot summer day. It had been quite a while since my last visit. In the past, the staff would prepare my salad as I ordered, but this time I was told to place my order with the cashier and wait for it instead. I decided to try their seasonal Peach & Goat Cheese Salad and added a side of mixed turkey (both dark and white meat). I requested the caramelized pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and dressing on the side since I wasn't sure I'd enjoy the sweet toppings. The salad looked decent at first, but once I got home, I quickly realized the peaches were old, bland, and completely lacking flavor. It was such a disappointment, especially considering it's the middle of July, when peaches should be at their peak. There were only a few strawberries scattered throughout, and the ratio of fruit and red onions to the large amount of greens felt way off. Honestly, I hate when I can make a better salad at home. Experiences like this are a big reason why I don't visit Jack's Urban Eats very often. On the positive side, the staff were cordial and the atmosphere was relaxed. I have not been here in a while. I just love how fresh the food is here Honestly, I would get a part-time job here just to be able to eat her more. Let me know if you need some help. So I don't eat a whole entire lot my appetite is always very strange so I definitely knew ordering the steak salad. I was going to have such a huge amount and would it be able to eat it all but thankfully, my husband was with me and he actually enjoyed it. I didn't tell him there was blue cheese on there because he did ask but I knew I added feta so I didn't mention it really and he didn't say anything so he must've really loved the dressing and everything else to not even notice it. I've always loved the inside of this place. It's big it's like the perfect lighting perfect open window windows and honestly the staff here always seems very pleasant and happy. I love that they have barqs root beer it is the only kind of drink. If you know you know root beer drinkers will tell you this is the best root beer that ever has been. So even if I'm not drinking soda if I happen to see it, I will get it. I'd definitely would love to figure out how I can order my salad personally for me at work downtown so that way I could order from here on DoorDash because it just seems like such a healthier option and so good in like filling it's not just healthy for you but it's like filling as well I don't know what dressing they exactly used, but it was perfect. I was able to ask for no cranberries in it and that's where I switched that out for the feta cheese. I was really happy overall I'll probably be back within the next week. lol read more

I've been coming to this location for close to two decades, and I've noticed a real decline over the past few years. Portions have gotten smaller, and the meat quality has slipped -- I normally like mine medium, but here I've learned to order well-done, otherwise it's tough and chewy. Customer service has slipped too. It seems like newer staff aren't being trained on the basics -- the last couple of visits, my appetizers came out after I'd already finished my entrée. I don't write negative reviews lightly. There are plenty of places with worse food or service that I've never bothered to review, because that's just what they are. I enjoy the fact the jacks is fresh and quick. We stopped in for a quick meal that didn't feel like fast food but was quick. Kids plate was fine my daughter likes plain food. It came with gravy and bbq sauce on the side but we didn't use it. I'm glad that on the kids plate they cut the meat! I got a create your own salad with tri-tip. Portions were great but I would order extra dressing. Food came out quick and the cashiers were nice. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I would like to update my review since having the worst experience years ago. I have since moved closer to this location and have put Jack's Urban Eats back into my normal rotation of places I order takeout from. They have a phone number that you can call to place orders through or speak to a staff member if needed, so that's a plus. However, I usually order online. It's quick and easy, and my orders are always ready for pick up quicker than the estimated time. The staff here these days have been great! My orders have been correct for the most part, but in the rare instance something small like a pickle or sauce is missing, they are happy to provide me with whatever is missing. I'm not sure, but maybe the management has changed. I haven't seen the one guy who made my experience so horrible so many years ago. I would recommend this location again to family and friends. The food is good, the portions are generous, and there are so many options to choose from. Some of my favorites are the tri tip plate, tri tip sandwich, cheese bread, urban fries, mac n cheese, and turkey chili. Yum! read more

Stopped in to grab a late lunch on Saturday. Most Jack's locations have the option of outside or indoor dining. We opted for inside since it was close to 100 outside. Even though it was a weekend it was crowded or busy we when arrived. It was actually good timing on our part as after our food arrived, there was a pretty big line to order. Staff were really friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Salmon Cobb which is one of my favorites at Jacks. Also ordered the grilled halloumi sandwich to share. The sandwiches were fresh as was the bread. Everything comes separate. The garlic fries were a little wanting. Garlic plopped in the middle causing gooey fries in no time flat. Good but... I ordered an order for delivery and am not very happy. We ordered a tri-tip bbq sandwich and a create your salad. The sandwich was fine and tasty because it was on the bottom of the bag. Well sad to say the salad ended up being pretty bad. I ordered mixed greens, Fuji apples, strawberries, jicama, red onion, oranges and caramelized nut blend. I ordered the plum vinaigrette and ended up with Cilantro lime. Sad. Because whoever bagged my order decided to put a cold salad on top of a hot sandwich the salad pretty much ended up steamed and not much of it was even edible. I went here on a Wednesday evening with my son. There was lots of people out and minimal parking. But this location is in a pazza with other stores that share parking so it wasn't a big deal, we parked a little further from the restaurant and that was ok. The location was busy. Inside almost all tables were full, but there was plenty of seating outside too. It's open seating, you arrive, order food at the cashiers, they give you a number, you sit and wait, they deliver your food to you. The utensils, napkins, ketchup, etc are in the dining area and you have to get them - this was hard to juggle with my baby at the table and having to step away to get all the things. This is my 3rd time there with a group of friends and even though we were a group of 8 we lined up, they took our order, and they brought out our plates correctly. We stopped at Jacks when passing through Sacramento on the way to Oregon. I am very familiar with their menu as I used to live in the area about a decade ago. We love coming here- and mostly always good things to eat and say... today (2/5/26 11:30) they were slammed. Mistakes happen, but no one wanted us at the counter to even check our order- very frazzled. We ordered 3 salads and a rice bowl. One paid for extra chicken strip, one had a very specific ingredient list with directions, (picture of her order next to what she got) but they came both came as identical buffalo salads with romaine and carrots. Super boring for the one that wanted extremely specific items. Obviously the never made, very specific salad tag got pushed to the side, and they remade another buffalo salad from the previous tag they just finished. My salad was a "make your own" had "maybe" previously frozen cucumbers, mushy sweet potatoes, tough roasted artichokes, that you chew and spit out and so much mixed greens, enough for two salads-too much. My balsamic vinaigrette was kinda, coagulated, with a separation of oil- never had that happened before. I mixed it, still didn't seem right. Quality control. Someone to check the orders as they are going out, tags with items then in the bag. It's very expensive, we rarely eat out due to obviously higher costs these days. Seems the management here really doesn't focus on staff development. Came in again to order my wife her birthday lunch. Build your own salad with extra toppings. Seems they charged me for the extra toppings but didn't include them in her salad. She didn't realize it until the end of her salad. My salad, the blackened salmon Cobb, came without the lemon vinegarette dressing! By the time I figured this out, I was 20 minutes away! I tried calling, nobody ever answers the phone. Good tonight! Just wanted to give a shoutout to whoever the chef is today. Mac n cheese was actually cheesy and the chicken in my Achiote bowl had a yummy smoky flavor. Their ingredients for salads are overall quality, but wish the tomatoes, onions and radishes were fresh. Love the new fried chicken sandwich that was added to the menu. Was over the moon when it first came out. Really needed a place near by with a good chicken sandwich. Now it's hit or miss as they seem to want to give the thinnest piece of chicken possible. Getting tied of places trying to cut corners. Save yourself 20 cents to ruin a dish that was awesome before, thus lose sales altogether. Anyway, sorry for the rant, still love it. Hope you guys can do better, though. The halloumi sandwich is pretty good too. Glad they are adding some new dishes. Wish they had the specialty lemonades like the Folsom location.
