I love Panera, both for breakfast and lunch. I have eaten there dozens of times. This review is written strictly based on a really bad experience at this particular location. En route to this store, I called in an order, thinking that it'd be ready when I got there 10 minutes later. Not only wasn't this the case, the order hadn't even been started. And they got it all wrong. In an effort to be a little more efficient, I wasted more time than had I just ordered when getting to the store. Very frustrating. read more

Today for lunch, I was craving something healthy, like a salad so I decided to go here. I had my usual half and half combo, but today I tried their smoked turkey sandwich with Greek salad. The cashier was very friendly and was patient with me with my requests. I originally requested for chips as my side, but then I changed my mind and decided to go for the healthy apple instead so he changed my order in the computer. After I paid for my order, I realized that I wanted wheat bread for my sandwich so I asked the cashier what kind of bread the sandwich came on. It was on white so I asked him if I could change to whole grain and he kindly accepted my order without a complaint. Since the order had gone through already, he just shouted to the guy making my sandwich to make it whole grain. Now that's customer service and patience! read more

I love Panera Bread and this location is no different. They've got loads of different soup, salads, sandwiches, and pastries to chose from, I could eat it all! The staff here is friendly and helpful, the long line ahead of me dissipated in no time and I was able to get my delicious blueberry bagel and go. read more

This place is pretty good. Their coffee is much better than Peet's but not as good as the Starbuck's across the way. The food is good and their selection of breads is very good as well. The service as this location seems slower than any others I've been to, but still nice to stop in for some fresh bread for spaghetti if you're not in a hurry. read more

I've been here twice with my family and it has sucked both times! The first time I went the girl at the counter looked bored and had a bad attitude after my mom was asking a question or two about the food served there. My sister and I ordered the broccoli cheese bread bowls and she immediately responded with a huff and a bad attitude that they didnt have any. The 2nd time was just as bad. if "corner bakery" and "panera bread" got into a fight, i think CB would win. i wanted to give it 3 good tries before i dropped a review. my first encounter was so-so but i heard/read only good things so i wanted to give it another shot before counting it out..and the results are: trip 1: eh. i ordered the bacon turkey bravo sandwich to go, which took awhile. i consider myself pirty damn patient, but it wasn't busy so i didn't understand the wait. as for the sandwich itself, it was mighty tasty up until i found fruitflies (2) on my lettuce. trip 2: better! ate in. spinach&bacon (yeah..i love bacon) egg souffle and an iced green tea. good and good. trip 3: 1/2 sandwich & salad to go (do i dare?) it was crazy busy lunch hour, but they hammered it out within minutes. go figure. i quite enjoyed the turkey artichoke panini. the asian sesame chicken salad..lackluster. the dressing is the only redeeming thing about it. it's basically just chopped lettuce, generic fried noodles and slabs of chicken. so, let's see...multiply 4, carry the 2, divide by 3 = 3 stars. i couldn't help but feel a bit underwhelmed..damn those expectations. would i go again: yes, but only if i'm nearby. read more

first and foremost: their egg souffle is soo yummy. i crave it and im so mad that theres not a panera bread less than 5 minutes away from home. i have only tried their panini sandwhich twice, where both times i was happy. one time i tried to put souffles on hold before i came to get them (because they do run out of things) and i came, and they gave my souffles that were on hold away to someone else. on the other hand, they comped my meal which included 3 souffles (i was with friends and thank god they had some souffles left) and drinks. all for free. i guess i should thank that person who took my souffles on accident. so i guess i should say i like their customer service. and on another note, i also enjoy their chocolate chip muffies. cookie+muffin = muffie. enough said. go and try it. read more

fresh food, soft bread, great prices. where can you go wrong? lines during lunch get long, BUT the staff is SOOO fast and efficient. my fall season favorite (because they have seasonal dishes) the orchard harvest salad--- greens, gorgonzola cheese, dried cherries, sliced pears all with a light cherry balsamic dressing paired with creamy tomato soup. about 7 bucks for everything. go go go! read more

Great customer service!!! Food is brought to your table really quickly. I ordered the almond chicken salad sandwich and it tasted great. It's not my favorite chicken salad sandwich but it still is good. The chips are also good. Water and water cups are available for you to get on your own, so you don't have to depend on the employees to get it for you. Panera was ruined for me when I went to their corporate website and saw the long list of what I consider nonfood ingredients. Some things are tasty (pecan twist) some are overly sweet (cinnamon roll). The coffee is passable. If you're hangry you can stop here and feel better. Otherwise not a good choice for those of us who like to pretend we eat healthy. read more

This place is just aiiight (sorry, I think I've used that term before in yelps). The menu is appealing, and the food is ok but always just *almost* hits the mark. I hate the flow when you walk in to order. So confusing with the pastry /bread area, and then the order meals area. The employees never seem to know how to handle you with that set-up. The majority of the times I've been, all of us deciding on our orders have gotten confused with who should go first, and inevitably someone gets cut off. Also, some loaves are great. Miche, I think they call it, is wonderful. Their ciabatta, however, is a joke. It's like a ciabatta shaped loaf of wonder bread, and last time I got it, the bottom 1/8 inch or so across the whole loaf was completely raw & dough-y. Weird. read more

Had lunch here the other day with a friend. The sun was shining so we soaked up some sun at one of the outdoor tables. Other than the occasional jet blasting by overhead the meal was perfect. Panera Bread is the epitome of efficiency from the friendly staff to the wireless buzzers that notify you when your sandwich is ready. Close to work and I like the new lemon orzo soup. The Fuji apple salad and the Napa almond chicken salad are other favorites. Relatively healthy compared to other quick-service places. We go here frequently to have a light soup and salad or soup-only dinner. We always have the vegetarian options. We favor their Garden Vegetable soup with pesto for its flavor and its lower calories. But they don't have it often enough. Frequently we are stuck with the Black bean. We like the Black bean, too, but not nearly as much as the Vegetable. The place is cozy and comfortable and we always enjoy having a relaxing meal there. Their sweet breads, danishes, cookies, and other bakery items are always delicious. And their staff at this location is always awesome - very friendly, helpful, and it's one of the reasons we return to this particular location when we live close to others as well. read more

I'm usually a Panera fan, but this specific shop was unfortunately a disappointment. I had the "pick two" with broccoli cheddar soup, Italian classic sandwich, and bread as the side. The broccoli cheddar soup was way to salty. The Italian sandwich was okay, but I prefer their hot paninis. (Not going to blame them for the sandwich. If I wanted something hot I should have ordered a hot items lol). The main disappointment was the BREAD. One of my favorite parts of Panera, the thing that got me hooked and coming back, is their bread. Usually hot, soft, moist, fresh, yummmy - that's how I've always had it, and what I expect. I would go to Panera just for their side bread! Unfortunately, the bread I got from here was: 1. A tiny slice, 2. Cold, 3. Dry. That completely killed my experience. I hope this is just a one off incident, maybe it took them a tad too long to get the dished out from the kitchen to our table. If this was my first time visiting a Panera Bread store, I would probably never patronize Panera Bread again. BUT, I've had good luck with other stores before, so I might be willing to give them another chance. On the positive note, a nice touch is that they actually deliver your food! Today was my first time eating and Panera and I loved it. The staff was SUPER friendly and the restaurant has an inviting feel. Healthy choices and perfect portion sizes. Our food came out surprisingly fast. When I was done with my meal, I was cleaning up and a gentleman who I think was the manager insisted to get it out of my way. At first I was thinking three stars, then I went back to try again... now I'm thinking two. The only reason it gets stars is b/c the coffee is pretty good, and served in a nice cup. I have gotten a sandwich here twice. On both occasions they pulled out an already made sandwich from a fridge after I was told they make them fresh! First Time: I ordered a Panini and it had almost nothing in it. No flavor, no meat, little cheese. It was like two flat pieces of bread squished together with an unknown substance in between. The Panini was served with an Apple that was rotten in the middle and soft on the outside. I brought it back and they gave me a different one. My one bite was mealy, and the apple as obviously way over it's eat by date. Come to think of it, they shouldn't be offering bad Apples out of season. At least they could have in season fruit. Cheap! The second time I got the half sandwich half salad combo. Again the sandwich was lacking and made on bread that tasted old. The salad was better, but was over dressed container salad. Who knows how long it had been sitting. The price I paid was very close to the price of a sandwich from Zanatos or WholeFoods. That was a let down... As for the bakery: The bagel I got was not very good. Dry, too fluffy...etc. The bread was ok. I may try the bread again, probably not a sandwich though. read more

Panera is a bakery and a deli of sorts, serving mostly sandwiches, salads and soups in addition to a wide selection of breads and desserts. Food is a bit pricey imo for the serving size (about $10-15 a person) but it's always delicious and there usually isn't too much of a crowd. I like to go here on hot days and enjoy the air conditioning while having a light meal. read more

Another place I really would want to like. Food is OK. Not bad, but certainly nothing spectacular. Shame because the descriptions sound so good. The ratio of taste to price is just not there. The value just isn't what you would expect. Nice surroundings, polite staff. Edible food, but nothing to make me run here and get some food. Salads are better than the sandwichs. Had to write a review after the THIRD mistake on a take-out order. Sadly, I like Panera's food! I eat there a few times a month. Service in the café seems pretty good. But every time I've ordered food to-go, they've messed up the order! The most recent one was a salad that came with no dressing. That's not a salad! The time before they got the side wrong (bread instead of apple.) The time before that a main ingredient of my salad was missing. Just really annoying. I think they're trying to get orders made fast, but Id' rather wait an extra minute and have it be correct. read more

I would give a five star for food as this is one of my favorite places for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! I called this morning to place my order to go. I'm in a bit of a rush it's early and I started the phone call at my house so I could stop quickly and run in grab my coffee and breakfast sandwich and get on the road. Unfortunately,I was on hold for 9 minutes and was speaking to a manager by the time i pulled in. The biggest frustration was the attitude of the associate who placed me hold for 8 minutes they had no compassion for the rude long hold time. I was able to speak with the manager and she showed compassion acknowledge she will work with her associate. Again, I won't let the rude associate hold me back but will put this feedback for those of you who need to see maybe calling into this location is not the best option. read more

I started off at the Panera near the fairgrounds and they were out of French Onion soup (I live in San Leandro and our panera restaurants aren't carrying the soup anymore) so I was TOTALLY bummed. But Megan and her team were so cool and gave super service! They called ahead to Joey's restaurant and it was ready when I got there... And they didn't forget the croutons! I went out for lunch yesterday to this place. It was the first place accross the street from my office, I was hungry, so I went in. I took a menu and read it through before queuing. I found this "You Pick Two" thing could work for me, so I had a cup of soup, a half salad and a side - an apple in my case. The cashier was kind, I got my food quickly, the place was nice, the food was delicious - so everything was right. I can recommend the place, I'll definitely go back again, if I don't take lunch from home. read more

I usually do only take out but I just wanna say that the Tomato Basil Bread is unbelievable. The only downside is it is only good for a day and not really worth it to buy the loaf....unless you are like me and will eat the entire loaf in one sitting. read more
