It is a worst experience.one of my friend bought a sandwich last week from this location and I liked it so much I went yesterday and despite told them no jalapeños it was full of that. I gave it to homeless person so at least someone can have. I called them and home and share the female staff name winni ( not sure spelled right) told me to come next day and get new without paying . She knew what time I am coming and hopefully shared so if she is not there other workers should know. I went and explained 2-3 times but the worker was keep telling me that he is calling owner and after waiting I had to leave need to go pharmacy. The only good thing it was my first and last visit will never go and share my experience with my family and friends . this is on the staff. Came in at 11:10a today and the counter girl was rude and picked a fight with a homeless guy. When my turn at counter she refused to make eye contact to make it clear that moving the trays of to go rice over an inch was a bigger priority. Then a homeless guy in the back started coughing so hard he was puking - still while pushing his sandwich down. No staff tried to help or remove him. the counter girl just mad dogged him to where he was screaming in the store "what?!?! what are you going to to?!?!" then he got up and started hassling the people eating and wanting to order. staff ignored it and people walked out. This is my favorite lee's location. I know they have a lot of nicer/newer locations but this one is just too convenient and too consistent to ever give up. I've been coming here since I went to SJSU and no matter what I try on the menu the ingredients are always fresh - everything is made to order unless you're grabbing their to go options which are so convenient when I'm running behind for a meeting. The honorary order is the lemongrass tofu bahn mi and the grilled shrimp spring rolls but just recently I tried their shrimp bowl and fell in love! The McDonald's of banh mi out here in downtown SJ. #5 grilled pork banh mi: overall it's alright. Grilled pork wasn't particularly tender but it's got some flavor with the marinade. The bread here is always strikingly pale on the exterior, but it's got some texture on it and isn't too dry. Always middle of the pack for Lee's in comparison to other banh mi spots. It is pricier than a lot of the other options in nearby Little Saigon. Overall this place is alright. It'll satisfy a craving for banh mi, but there are definitely better options nearby. read more

Wow, quality at its finest. I never really tasted the other Vietnamese places. I usually order vermicelli bowls with egg rolls and tofu. This place has Banh MI rolls which I have never tasted before. It looked pretty basic. But once you try it, it is better than subway. The flavors, the spiciness and the ingredients are fresh and delicious. The pricing was fair and good budget for college students who do not make much. They also have pre-made meals cold and warm for affordable prices at the front. The interior is Clean and the environment is calm. The service was great, the woman at the front was friendly. She had a Vietnamese accent that was sweet. The quality and taste of the food was astounding though. Maybe it is because I haven't eaten a good meal in months but I would defintely come back due to the flavors and affordability. The food filled me up moderately. I ordered 2 jumbo spring rolls for 7$ a little pricey and a banh MI vegetarian for about 7$. I recommend to get both. I like all the options for sandwich fillings Lee's offers (there's like 20+ combos), and my go-to is BBQ pork or chicken with extra pickled daikon. They also have a "happy hour" a half hour prior to closing where many of the packaged items are discounted, like spring rolls or desserts. Service is good, but something about this Lees gives cockaroachy vibes, and there's always super sketch (possibly homeless) people hanging out inside/outside. Do NOT listen to the cashiers when asking about dietary information. The cashier that took my order today was asked about if Lees had gluten free sandwiches (coworker has allergies). The cashier stated "absolutely, all sandwich bread is gluten free here, just not the croissants." My coworker was ecstatic, but after eating it has having health issues currently. Came by for lunch the other day and it was a lackluster experience. Some of the clientele appeared to be homeless, which was unfortunate. They were paying customers, so I completely understand... I have visited each of the Lee's Sandwiches locations primarily San Jose locations frequently however I had a very unfortunate experience at this location approximately a month ago. I ordered a Vietnamese blended coffee and large butter croissant. Along side my order I also purchased some pre packaged items prior to receiving my order. When I received my order the croissant was not full cooked on the inside, I did not recognize until I went to take a bite as I was sitting in my vehicle in front of the location. The raw dough stuck to the roof of my mouth and top teeth. I went back in to the store and simply inquired when the croissants were made and if they needed more time to sit. The woman confidently assured me that it was cooked throughly however when I showed her she avoided to look and asked if I wanted a new one. I respectfully declined and asked if they were all made the same order, she confirmed. She called another woman over and began to say "it is cooked, she is wrong". I let her ( the cashier and cook) know I didn't want a refund. I simply wanted to ensure the order of croissants were cooked for alternate customers to avoid ill or bilious symptoms. Poor, and inefficient customer service at this location. She issued a refund, however no sense of sincerity in serving raw dough. I intend to abstain supporting this business any further. read more

I love this place, but today was just a bad day. I always go and get the barbecue pork sandwich, but some days the meat is cut so fatty that there is barely any pork, and you're left spitting most of the rubber out. Today was one of those days.
