I loved the food the couple of times that I have had Panera Bread in the past. That is the only reason for the two stars that this restaurant is receiving. The problem is how expensive the meals are. We spent nearly $100 bucks for about 4-5 meals. There is absolutely NO REASON for a fast food chain to be charging this much. Made a stop here on a Sunday while heading home from a weekend trip. We're usually fans of Panera (for well over 20 years) and thought it'd be great place for lunch but Panera doesn't delight us the way it used to so it's fallen to a 2nd or 3rd option when choosing where to dine. Once inside we got in line to order with a person. (Panera's push to kiosk ordering? Not a fan. I'll never embrace it.) I think our order taker was new because someone had to show her where the food item I ordered was located on the register. I generally order the same thing every time and it's an "off menu" item, but still available. After ordering and going to get our drinks we saw a sign that the ice machine was down. Strange, but it happens. Iced tea isn't iced tea without ice, so that wasn't appealing to me. Likewise any of the fountain drinks, since it's the ice that cools the beverage and helps maintain carbonation. That leaves whatever-temperature-the-drink-comes-out-at. Bummer, because I LOVE Panera's iced tea. I don't know if there an event or a convention or just an unreasonable gathering of kids, but there were A LOT of kids on this visit. An annoyingly large number of kids. Food delivery was kind of lengthy, made even worse by all. the. kids. My sandwich was good, but not awesome, and my room temperature tea (-ice) wasn't winning any awards. It wasn't until I went up to get a drink refill that I saw the young lady behind the counter get someone some ice from a little refrigerator behind the counter. We weren't offered the ice when we ordered so I kinda stood there in amazement, but at least we were able to get some for our refills. Kind of a lackluster visit, to be honest. The staff was fine and kept the moving. The dining room was surprisingly clean, given how busy they were. This visit was an "as we were passing by" selection. This location has turned my favorite restaurant into my least favorite. My fiance and I order breakfast from here on Saturday mornings (delivery). I do not recommend delivery because they NEVER get it right. Props to them though, they do find new and creative ways to mess up our order each week. Missing ingredients, missing sauces, forgetting items, making the item wrong, and overall poor food quality sometimes. I kept giving them chances because I've always loved Panera but this Panera is consistently awful. I've reached on via the app and it sends you a coupon, I've called the manager and asked for retraining of the staff, and I've reached out to corporate which they sent me $15 coupon. This Panera Bread is probably the best one I've ever been to! Staff were all super friendly and helpful. The dining area is super open and they had lots of cute Christmas decorations up. My husband and I both agreed this location is a hidden gem when it comes to Panera Breads! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 regards the high prices. This has nothing against this location, specifically. However, we were shocked by how expensive entrees have gotten. A bowl of soup is now almost $9, which seemed crazy to us. I will say that if you order one of their $5.99 Duet Combo meals, you're getting a good meal for the price! This is what we typically order because of this. I really like Panera. However, their Chicken, the last few times on the Strawberry Chicken Salad, has had a strange taste to it as though it's old or spoiled..but it didn't make me sick. I ate it because I had paid for it and I was hungry. I took the chance that it wasn't going to make me sick. Also, I am blown away that the Pick Two Menu option is SO INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE! If you add a drink to it, it's $19.00. I don't know how much longer I'll be able to afford Panera. I know that it's EVERYWHERE with prices. We usually love Panera, so stopped on our way through town. What a mistake! They were out of so much, they started listing what they DID have! They couldn't give us BREAD for a side with our soup! Panera didn't have bread! How is that even possible? 4 out of 6 of our family members left and went elsewhere to eat. The bathroom was so gross that I didn't eat my soup that I usually love; I didn't trust anything coming out of this store and had lost my appetite. Very disappointing. As most know, Panera food is generally expected to be good. And it was. I wanted to try the new croissant cheese bread sandwich. The bread was exceptional. It was not toasted too much just enough. The sandwich proved to be very good. It was served with commercial kettle chips, which was fine because I didn't order anything else. I wanted an Arnold Palmer, but the lemonade dispenser was not working so I had to ask the Cashier to give me some lemonade in the bottom part of the glass. I had to wait for a period of time for her to get someone to take the cup to get lemonade in the bottom. Then I had to wait a little bit longer than expected to finally get that. Overall, it was very good. I did notice a few crumbs on the table where we were sitting, but it was easy just to wipe away with a napkin. I will go back again. read more

Ordered the "Creamy Tomato soup". It was not creamy. It had a canned taste, metallic, tin. More Tomato paste soup. Not laden with herbs or cream, just Tomato. Hell, if they made a ketchup soup it may have been better, to be honest. I'm 90% sure this came from a can. Which is sad because it's so easy to make from scratch. The saving grace was the bread. Caution, caution, caution ... I am a great fan of Panera. and having frequented them throughout the country whenever I travel as well as every Wednesday in my hometown, coffee with friends. Call This was absolutely the worst Panera I have ever been in. Corporate needs to fix this please. It really is a eyesore for their organization. On a trip from Cleveland to Birmingham we stopped outside of Louisville Kentucky at this Panera. At 8 o'clock in the morning the parking lot was empty and we assumed it was closed, but thought we we would check by driving through the drive-through. We ordered two egg white sandwiches that was thrown together with egg smeared on the outside. The sandwich was horrible. The service was bad as well. I asked for cream in our coffee. They made an error and did not put cream in. However when I asked rather than just say, oh, here are some creams, they became belligerent and nasty and insisted that they had put the cream in the coffee. It was black as night. A minor incident, but given the whole experience, it was pretty bad. Had I never been to a Panera before I would never go again. read more

Came here for lunch, plenty of tables and feee WiFi! I see a working lunch in my future. This is new to Shepherdsville and it's nice to have an option for healthy food options on this end of town. It's not super easy to get to off interstate, but you could always order a mobile order and run in and get it. They also have a drive thru too. I think it's pricey for lunch for a half soup and half salad. $13 not including a drink. They also didn't give me an option for my side. So co-worker of mine said he was going to Panera I didn't bring my lunch today and I said hey buddy won't you go ahead and pick me up some while you're at it I'll order it online and you can pick it up he said cool so that's what we did he went over on to the Dixie I ordered a turkey chili and I'm not a big fan of turkey in the chilling definitely not a fan of peas and corn and carrots in my chili hell I might as well call her the damn vegetable soup cuz I didn't know what was going on with all these carrots and things in my chili my chili is hot and good and has beef and peppers and it not carrots so anyway that I'll give about a 2 out of 5 not a big fan of it I can see that a lot of people would probably like it because it's healthy and that's what Panera's known for I guess where I found out today. And then I got like a little hoagie bun that came with that it was a good I get to dip it in the chili sauce so I enjoyed that and then I got to pick to type thing and I got a sandwich like a steak and cheese sandwich with no onions cuz I don't like onions not a fan of the onions and I got lettuce and tomato on it and it was good I'll give out a 4I like that steak and cheese hoagie bread can't go wrong with that so I'll get Panera and overall 3 out of 5 because I'm sure they got a bunch of good stuff but I'm not really into all that and you know I'm just kind of like give me a cheeseburger giving Pizza give me a beer type of dude not really into eating salads and soups and what I want hot ass chili and I want a big old sandwich with a lot of meat and cheese and stuff on it so whatever three out of five I'll probably try it again but it wouldn't be my goal to read more

This Panera is terrible. I had to be the first person in the store today. They messed up my bagel order. They gave me the wrong bagel, it was not toasted. I ordered coffee and it was yesterday's coffee. They didn't mention it. They didn't mention they would make new coffee. There was no dark roasted only light and they recommended heating it up in the microwave. It's absolutely disgusting what they did. They then cleared out all the refrigerated food and threw it out. I would give zero starts if possible for this Panera in Shepherdsville. Worse service ever. For the past 2 years, every single order we placed for drive-thru pick up had items missing in our food or the customized instructions were not followed. They do not even bother to inform you about the issues they when give your order at the window. You pay full price for food missing ingredients, few examples: Chicken Frontega sandwich one time missing the cheese, other time missing the basil, ultimately the Chicken Avocado melt missing The Avocado! Just Unbelievable! You get a text message and email when your order is ready, but when you get to the window it is not ready. They ask you to park on the curbside spot and say they will bring it to you when ready, but all they do it to leave you there waiting until you have to go inside. When you finally go inside to get some information at the kitchen window, all those employees including the manager ignore you. Will ever come back to this location again. read more

I'm a salad lovin' lady and I love Panera's salads. My absolute favorite is the modern Greek with quinoa. Tomato, olives, feta and yummy greens served with a taste portion of tomato quinoa. It's a pretty healthy option when I'm in n a hurry or don't want to cook dinner. I love that the meals are served in real dishes not paper or plastic. The soups are also tasty and there are lots of options for everyone. The prices are definitely higher than the typical fast food joint but the quality of food is much higher. There are several locations around Louisville and they all pretty much have the same menu. The shepherdsville location has been open about two years and the service definitely has improved since it opened. read more

I felt rather odd walking in and not being greated. I asked cashier if they had the power-up sandwich (egg whites, cheddar and turkey sausage) and cashier never heard of it.
