Great food and a calm atmosphere for a lunch break. I ordered the Greek Chicken + Quinoa bowl and it was great, however the cucumbers and tomatoes tasted off. Their texture was ok but it tasted as if they were around chemicals before coming to the front. I had also asked for no chicken for a vegetarian option but still ended up with chicken. Neither of these are big deals but things that would've made it a better experience. I went around prime lunch time and there was a pretty small wait, less than 7 minutes. Seems like some sort of change in management or ownership that is a little too forceful with not just smaller portions, but odd rules for the staff. Here's the rundown: - My kid ordered a BYO bowl, only adds 1 out of 5 toppings. - I ordered a standard bowl and they're out of the meat I ordered (pork) so first snafu. Then I ask if I could have some noodles -- "that will be $0.75 sir is that Ok?" Do I get $0.75 x 4 credit back for the 4 my kid didn't get? If you can't "consider" that when building your little upcharge to death model that *you* win some like my kid only getting ONE topping on a BYO, and on the same order, then you deserve what probably will happen -- you'll be out of biz. And that is sad given how much potential you have. There are other options thankfully at this point. The food is always fresh but the rice noodles are usually frozen and that's my favored ingredient. I did ask the young man if he could warm them for me and he said NO, I looked and nothing was on the grill , he could have warmed it with my chicken? I usually do not add protein but decided to today, it's only 1 ounce spoon full anyway. There were 6 people working, no line and it would take literally seconds. But that's what you get hiring teens. Stopped in after the lunch rush for food with my family. For context, one person was in line behind us. The man at the front of the line "greeting" guests and taking orders could not have been more put out by us ordering food from his restaurant. Got frustrated that my son ordered a "build your own" and then clarified that he had wanted a wrap after the man started making a bowl. Ok, our bad in part. But the worker also didn't ask. Then he was mad when we ordered two kids "power plates" and I asked if we could choose our four items, which is always the case online (I order core life at least once a week and do this often). The man scolded that "you can do that online but in the store you have to SPECIFY what you want"...which is exactly what I was trying to do lol. Nowhere on the signage does it even say what the plates come with, so I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to know that it's a set thing (especially when it is NOT online). Anyway, if you can get past a super rude ordering experience the food is decent. At least the woman restocking items and the man working the register were nice to my kids! I wish I had gotten two of these because I really enjoyed it. You can add bleu cheese or ranch to it. - steak fajita: Alright, probably wouldn't get it again. Not sure what happened to CoreLife. We have eaten food here many times after leaving the gym as a quick and healthy option eating away from home. Not only has the service suffered in the last couple years, but the food and portions as well as cost have taken a dive. Last night was the last straw. My wife went in to get two quick and easy bowls, it took way too long for a simple order and messed up the persons order in front of her. I get the Poke Fire Bowl, literally there was only 7 to 8 pieces of tuna. Plus low portions of others ingredients as well as missing ingredients. Hopefully they can turn things around, but it'll take a qualified owner and management to bring this place back to it's aforementioned status. read more

I think today was my last visit. Every time I come to this restaurant, the floors are so sticky that my feet stick to the gas and brake pedals when I get back into my car. It's just not kept very clean. It makes me wonder about the food prep and what the kitchen looks like. The staff is mostly rude, especially the first guy that usually takes the order. Especially if you have any adjustments or additions, just be ready for attitude. Today I substituted my protein, but they charged me full price for a separate whole protein so my bill was six dollars more than it should have been, but I did not catch it until after I left. Tried to call the restaurant of course no one answers and there's no voicemail. My last visit before this one, the food was just not up to par. I ended up throwing most of mine away. Yummy food from a chain that was first started in New York! So lucky to have it now in Louisville and the pricing is very reasonable for some delicious and healthy food! I loved all the options and wish this was available in California too! I tried the southwest chicken and my husband wanted the tuna bowl, but since they were out of tuna, he substituted it with steak. We ordered the chipotle chicken bone broth as well. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. It's a nice hearty meal that the regular size would have been perfect. We ended up packing the leftover for the flight home. The chipotle soup was good, but might be even better plain to complement our flavorful salad/grain bowl. I loved the purple rice in my chicken bowl. It wasn't too heavy on dressing as they tossed it for me. The steak was fresh and so were the greens. Hope to see this chain expand to the west coast! Wow, this place has gone downhill. Every time that I've walked in recently the employees just stare you down, roll their eyes, and genuinely look so annoyed that you're even in there. The lines are never that long yet somehow it still takes 15-20 minutes to get through the line since the employees all move at a snails pace. It's such a frustrating and awkward experience. The food is 10/10 most days. Honestly, that's the only reason I have returned. The customer service is 0/10 and management needs to do something about this ASAP. Tables and floors are often dirty, which makes me wonder how clean it is behind the scenes. I don't think I'll be back for a while... Just do better! read more

I've been looking forward to trying this new fresh meals spot and it did not disappoint. Modeled similar to other fast casual chains there are pre-created menu items or you can build your own bowl. Being my first visit I chose the kid's menu power plate with fresh fruit, vegetables, rice and dipping sauce, the chicken barbecue bowl (recommended by staff), and a Cobb salad for myself. The staff behind the counter was helpful and patient as I got familiar with the menu. I appreciated the covid precautions - social distancing measure, masks and gloves - and the speedy in and out time from order to finish. The tea and lemonade bar had a large variety, and I am intrigued by some of the flavors. I am looking forward to going back and trying them! One bummer, I got a chance to eat my Cobb salad my avocado was old and that was a disappointment. Being a new spot I hope they get in a groove with their quality control. I know avocado is a pain to keep fresh, but as a fresh eats spot I hope you are going to nail it. Overall I liked the menu, it had something for everyone on my list, and the staff was great. Wow! I used to work like 2 mins from this place and never knew this restaurant existed. CoreLife is a great healthy equivalent to your normal lunch. I got the Poke Fire, while my significant other got the Korean BBQ pork bowl. Add this with two drinks and the total was around $20. The Poke Fire tasted great. It was a good portion for the price and the ingredients all blended well with each other. We went during lunch time and it was pretty packed around the time. Recommend to order online to save some time. One thing I might recommend is more options when creating a bowl, maybe add additional meats that's similar to other poke shops? Usually, I love this place, such a great place to swing by for some quick healthy food after the church. Staff is mostly always organized, quick, and helpful. Unfortunately, I am debating on coming back or not after my most recent trip. A few days ago, I came in and the worker who assisted me (who I am mostly sure is the owner), was flustered and was not wearing a hairnet. I overheard another employee identify her as the owner over the phone. It just wasn't a good look on the store or a great atmosphere at all. I felt like I knew more about the place than the employees helping me. The place was very dirty as well, sticky floors. There also seems to never be many workers in there at all recently, always about 3, which is definitely a change. I looked past this at first, but when I got home, I realized my Korean Egg bowl was cold and missing broccoli. Excited about a restaurant that offers salad, grain and broth bowls, I visited the CoreLife Eatery website menu. Based on that I wasn't sure this was a spot for me - several options were noted as spicy or dominated by spices I don't prefer. My husband suggested we do a walk-in instead, which changed my perspective. Right away the signage got my attention, showcasing meal options, available proteins and encouraging substitutions to make it the perfect item for you. I opted to build my own bowl with the choose 2, which gave me a small bowl and side or drink. The build your own bowl deal was better than noted on the website (i.e. 2 bases instead of 1, 5 ingredients instead of 4). I got a side of brussel sprouts. They were good but sweeter than my preference because they're made with maple bacon. The team members at the counter were patient and friendly, explaining all the options and letting me take my time. They sent me home with a few sauces to try with my grain bowl. I really enjoyed my meal and it was filling - no risk of snacking tonight! I'm looking forward to returning for more ingredient combinations or a salad. Things to know: sitting inside and out (currently some tables are blocked for social distancing), nice job on packing for carry out, all employees wearing mask and customers required to do the same unless they're eating at the table, small and large bowls available, lots of dressings and sauces available, soups sold as a side. read more

This place was delicious! I work part-time at Shred415, so this was a nice little lunch after one of my middle of the day shifts. The service was fast, and the workers were super friendly. I didn't know entirely what to get or how the menu worked, but they helped me out. I finally ended up getting the spicy thai bowl with rice noodles. I will say, it was SUPER SUPER spicy. I thought I would get to choose the spice level, but I didn't. Maybe I should have asked. The meal itself was really good but know that if you don't want something incredibly spicy, this is not the meal for you!! All in all - definitely enjoyed and will definitely be back again. This place was kind of hidden but they have some really good options that are healthy and delicious. We tried some of the buffalo chicken tacos with ranch and they were so good. We got naan for the tortilla which was a nice touch and the ranch is light but flavorful. They are also really bad about alterations to menu items and 9/10 times they forget to put everything on that is requested. I love the food at core life but the staff acting the way they do makes me not want to go back. I've been there many times and thought maybe the staff being rude was a fluke but after going there more than 10 times I've only had a couple pleasant interactions with the staff. They genuinely seem annoyed when a customer walks in and wants to place an order. ALSO never make the mistake of ordering your food online cause they always give you way less quantity and STILL somehow forget to add everything that you ordered. It's very frustrating. read more

Dining area was a mess, and the dude that cooked my egg instead of changing gloves...just wiped them down with a napkin and kept using gloves contaminated with raw egg.
