The place is noticeably much cleaner and I actively see employees cleaning floors and wiping tables, and while i know that bathrooms aren't fun to keep clean it is much better than it was months ago. Food was delicious! Haven't visited a Panera restaurant in a couple of years. Was easy to find a seat. The staff were very helpful with the salad ingredients. Parking was a little crowded. We arrived right before the lunch hour. It got very busy, which was a good thing. read more

When choosing Panera locations nearby, this is one of my preferred spots to go to since it has some of the characteristics that make it more enjoyable to sit in for a longer time. Instead of a more rectangular or square shape, this one has two distinct sides of more comfortable furniture with an fireplace type decoration, and then a more standard booth/table seating arrangement on the other side. I feel that this allows customers to enjoy distinctly different experiences within the same restaurant, and really does help to cut down on the noise within the restaurant as it was quiet enough for me to easily concentrate on doing some work while I was enjoying my meal. The decor is a little better, and feels a bit more modern than some of the locations nearby. Parking was quite easy and the lot configuration was quite logical. Service was pretty quick and friendly, despite being busy -- and food tasted about the same as any other Panera. Another plus of this location is that I felt that items like lids, straws, napkins, coffee creamer+sugar, etc. was maintained in a fairly tidy manner and stocked. I've been to some other locations where certain cup lid sizes were missing, or where the countertops weren't wiped down as regularly. Overall, good spot to stop in for a Panera experience if you're doing anything nearby. The experience is a little better than some of the other locations I've been to. read more

My husband and I went to Panera Bread for dinner before going to a Yelp event. Being a member of the Panera Sips Club definitely played a role in picking this restaurant. We got the French dip dippers with potato chips for an entrée. The dippers were excellent with French onion soup serving as the dipping sauce. We got a fountain drink and hot chocolate for drinks. The hot chocolate was rich and creamy. We finished off dinner with a pumpkin shortbread cookie. We had a great experience and highly recommend this Panera Bread! read more

This location has continued to get worse with each visit. The owners or managers seem to leave everything up to the employees and don't pay enough attention to how the business is being run. I was hoping things had improved since my last visit, but unfortunately, the experience was even worse this time. It would seem like this branch has declined in the experience of why I come to enjoy over the last 6 years Hazelnut coffee is much less flavorful (I'd say by half of its taste before) since the change mid-June. The staff now is no longer the same as before and I see new faces causing outbursts from customers due to quality of service declines. There used to be an assistant manager around and a manager, but that looks to have changed. The decline was aggravated when Michelle, the previous manager for decades left. Food has stayed consistent while the back of house seems to have undergone changes. It is amazing to see how the level of change impacts the efficiency of this establishment. The reason I stopped going to other Panera locations because the staff and service continuously rotated and was ever disjointed and mismanaged. I hope the folks get their act together or it's time to go find another place to frequent. It should be evident for the management and leadership the constant rotation of people is not a recipe for success. While a franchise can almost replicate recipes, the human factor is a high part of why other humans want to do business at this location. Had a great experience at this location. I ended up at the location very late right before closing. The food I got wasn't up to par given that it was most likely the remaining left overs from the day. When I went back the next day, the manager offered a refund and instead was polite enough to replace the items that weren't up to standards the evening before. This location has deteriorated drastically both food and service. It felt like the staff was running the place like it was a zoo and not a food place. The girl Darionna that was taking our order made the experience a joke. She got distracted very easily, I asked her to please place my order and then take care of other customers but she said it was her job. Someone needs to train her how to work efficiently and how to take care of customers without running away every second and not to cough over everything in front of her. read more

I've never dined in at Panera before and found it to be a great experience! Went on a solo self care date alone and was able to grab this value duet for $8 with tax. The location is right next to our local goodwill so it was a great meal prior to shopping. The tuna salad sandwich is always my go to. It is nice and fresh with the veggies inside. The tomato soup was a great pairing to add an extra level up to the meal. I feel that dining in gave me significantly more food than when I order take out. Will for sure drop by again in the future. We came by to grab breakfast after taking our pet to the vet nearby first thing in the morning. It wasn't quite as crowded when we arrived but about 10 minutes later there was a huge rush of people (10-15 deep). The staff member helping us was super patient and made suggestions for some of their freshest items. They had just finished bringing out the breakfast soufflés and she had recommended the four cheese one, and they brought out a pan of cinnamon rolls which my husband could not stop eyeing. I ordered my usual Asiago bagel with chives cream cheese, and a soufflé for us to split. The Asiago bagel was toasted to a nice warm crisp and the chives cream cheese was a great savory cream to help break up the cheesy taste. The four cheese soufflé was like an Effie croissant and it was great for a morning pastry. To drink I got the chocolate cold brew, it tasted like a chocolate milkshake but I sure did get that jolt of energy after finishing it. In today's negative world of cancel culture and making sure employees lose their jobs, I want the entire corporation to hear a wonderful light at the end of the tunnel story. I almost feel guilty making a review on a Panera that I rarely go to. I usually go to a Panera that is closer to work, and I absolutely love it there. It allows me to do work with a small coffee. I will do a review at Panera at a later date. The one I went to today actually felt like a different restaurant than the Panera I regularly attend. That's important to keep in mind, not all Paneras are the same! If you are not a fan of one, don't count them all out. I got the Mediterranean chicken greens with grains (without any chicken) and a coffee. It was a simple salad and sufficed for what I needed. Everything was made quick. The other Panera I regularly go to is less busy, and offers a little bit more comfortable seating. However, this Panera is larger and buisier, and the employees are helpful. I got the salad to-go but the interior looked like it would be a pleasant place to sit and eat. I think I am just biased because I am so used to the Panera I typically go to. The salad is a bit pricey (about $14 with the coffee). Overall, the salad tasted great, the coffee was sufficient, and the process was smooth. I'd recommend this Panera for anyone shopping in the area, or need something quick like a salad. read more

Our family loves Panera! Sign used to say Panera Bread and now only says Panera. Every family member has own preference; son doesn't eat red meat so there are plenty of options. Plenty of parking at Skokie location. I don't necessarily go here in mornings because during breakfast time there was much traffic. Our family favorites: grilled cheese sandwich, butternut squash soup, vegetable soup, turkey w/avocado sandwich. I always love getting the You Pick Two options. Panera is a little pricey and I was hoping in the future they would have a better rewards program, however I'll keep going as they have great in a great atmosphere. read more

We've carried out items from this location numerous times but have never stayed to dine in.   Today the wife and I stayed and had a relaxing post lunch refreshment of a frozen chocolate cold brew.  It was a nice stop and it was confirmed to me that the inside is just as busy and vibrant as their tight parking lot always is.  Atypically for a Panera, they have a nice cozy working fireplace.  Their space is also long and narrow, and kinda tight quarters for everyone, but also with a lot of people capacity.  I'm sure being across the street from Old Orchard mall helps with their high traffic and popularity, but the area in general is a commercially busy one. Overall, it's the most busy and vibrant Panera I've seen to date in Chicagoland, and with the usual tip-top good quality products. read more

I've been coming to this Panera for years. Last year, I signed up for the Sip Club for the unlimited bevs, and I've been visiting more frequently ever since to make it worthwhile. I like that I can order ahead on the mobile app, and my order is always ready by the time I get there. The sip club also comes with free delivery, and every so often, there are deals for food or pastries. I'm rating a 3 because recently the ice machine broke, and their temporary solution was to put out a bucket of ice with a scoop so that customers would scoop their own ice into their drinks. I just had sanitary concerns because everyone was using the scoop and then leaving it in the ice bucket. Needless to say, I had lukewarm drinks for about 2 weeks. I think Panera is generally overpriced for food, but the sip club is a good deal if you live or work near one. read more

I know it was late when I put in the order, and they were kind enough to call and say they didn't have any French baguettes left (which I said was fine at the time). Sadly I have to revoke a star. I've been coming here a lot because I was suckered into the unlimited Sip Club coffee deal*. In the summer it was great for giant iced coffee almost every day. I am the kind of person who will drink iced coffee (when I go out to get coffee) as long as it is above 32 degrees outside...like, I'm not going to drive to Panera to get drip coffee when I can make it quicker and better at home. But, I don't usually make iced coffee myself because it's more labor intensive to do it well, so I will go out for it. All that's to say, I went this morning to get iced coffee, and I was very disappointed. I got the giant 30 oz cup, filled it halfway with ice, and went to pour the iced coffee. As I poured the iced coffee, I discovered it was very hot. As in, there was steam coming out of the spout. So, their "iced coffee" is just their regular coffee, but mixed with ice. That's not ideal (because it messes with the strength of the coffee because of all the extra water). But also, don't put your iced coffee out in a bin labeled "iced coffee" until it's at least been chilled to room temperature. I get that it's winter so it may be less popular, but also this was at 7am and they were open at 6am, so it must be popular enough that they had to refill it after an hour, as I can't imagine it was still that piping hot after an hour of sitting in the carafe. Us Midwesterners like our iced coffee and aren't fazed by 40 degree weather, so we'll continue to buy it :P So, I ended up with super weak and warm coffee in my plastic iced coffee cup that ended up being hot to the touch since it immediately melted the ice when I poured it. I probably should've tossed it out and just gone for hot coffee. Their food and pastries are good though. *Sidenote: the Sip Club has become stupidly expensive...but that's through no fault of this location. It's a corporate thing. But it was like $7.99/month when I my free trial ended in June, then it jumped up to $9.99/month a few months later, which felt unnecessary but I was going almost every day in the summer for iced coffee, so it still was cheaper than making it myself given the price of the coffee beans I buy. I tried to cancel but they enticed me with a "how about $3.33/month for 3 months to stay?" offer, so I agreed. But now it's about to be $13.99/month in January when my super discount ends. Hard pass, especially in winter. I don't want to haul myself in the cold and snow to get mediocre coffee when I can make it at home in my PJs for less. read more

It's almost 2024... you'd think by now that a CHAIN restaurant would offer some sort of gluten free bread option. I hate Panera. I was with some people who insisted we go here. I asked for gf bread, and was looked at like I was stupid. Which I guess I am stupid for assuming a bread company would have gluten free bread, since fricken Aldi has it. Panera could make a fortune- buy a loaf of Aldi bread for $6.00, then sell sandwiches for $10.00 a piece. Dumb. ANYWAY, I had the tuna. No bread. Tiny tiny scoop of tuna. It was a bigger waste of money than the shirt I bought on the clearance rack at Kohl's. I hate Panera and will never ever ever go there again. Panera will always be my go to fast food restaurant, though it is on the expensive side. Their French onion soup is the reason I go. It's best to eat the soup at the restaurant, not take it to go. I also enjoy their summer seasonal salads as I prefer fresh fruits in my salad. They currently have a Strawberry Poppyseed Salad with Chicken that is delicious. I can't help but get a 'whole' salad, though they do offer a 'half' option. I love their brownies and chocolate chip cookies and they are best warmed. Fret not- if they aren't warmed for you in the back, they have a conveniently placed microwave that you can use to warm these sweet treats for a few seconds. While Panera has options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for an individual or family meal, they also have catering options as well. read more

We regularly order from this Panera. Twice in two weeks the order has been wrong. Last week I ordered a tuna sandwich. They sent bread and the tuna salad separately so I had to make my own sandwich. Utensils are no longer provided unless you ask for them. You'd think for a $100.00 they might throw in a soup spoon or two.There is allegedly a place to do so but I have now missed it twice. Came here for lunch on a Friday. Definitely packed! The demographic has a lot of older folks, families and working people in the area. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was clean, with someone coming to sweep the carpet of crumbs every so often. I had the Mediterranean Warm Grain Bowl. It's fairly mushy after mixing all the ingredients with the the sour cream and hummus, and tastes fresh and flavorful when biting the olives and tomatoes. The new winter ten vegetable soup is more or less minestrone soup with the addition of corn it seems like. That said, I love minestrone soup. I'm a sucker for Panera and restaurants with rewards programs. This location is fine for a meal, Wi-Fi and to relax or do some work! read more
