The steak was a good portion and the au jus was flavorful. The ciabatta roll was soft. I want this sandwich again! I didn't care for the Ranch Parm BLT Salad and I think it's due Farro Rice blend. It was strange and does not compliment the BLT. OMG!!! The Cinnamon Roll was sooo delicious! It was very fresh and soft and a lot of fresh frosting. Delicious! Pretty good for fast food. And they have several options to get you through the line quickly ... even using their app while in their location. I am a big fan of their "Pick Two". As described, you get to choose from a combination of salad, soup, and a half portion of a sandwich. At this time, I seem to be focusing on the soup (I like the Autumn Squash) and the half sandwich (where I am often between the Turkey and Avocado BLT ...or the Steak and Arugula). Ate dinner here at 5pm on a Friday night. They were very busy but service was fast and we didnt have to wait lomg for our food. We had the chicken noodle soup, mac and cheese, and steak sandwich. The food was delicious. The soup was hot and a generous portion. It was full of chicken and hit the spot on a chilly evening. The mac and cheese and steak sandwich are a great value and very filling. The people here are friendly and efficient and the food came out fast and fresh. Our reason for 3 stars is the dining room was filthy. Food and paper on the floor. It had not been swept for several hours. Many of the booths have holes and are need of repair or replacement. While we like to eat here we would no longer consider taking guests here because of the condition of the dining room. It is sad to see this great establishment in such disrepair. read more

I like Panera Bread in general. All locations around VA are pretty consistent. What I find recently is how much perks (discounts and free stuff) you get when I use the app. If you are already a fan and a frequent customer, the app offers so many rewards and turn out to be great deal for your money. The food at this location is fresh and good quality and very consistent. I go to the one in Vienna the most since it's in my neighborhood. The service is quick, very roomy if you need to meet up with friends. So glad I live near by. read more

Stopped in for a quick breakfast on the way to work. I actually had a 2$ off breakfast coupon so I decided to try the fruit granola yogurt parfait. I ordered on the go which is always the best way to go. That way it's ready and you don't have to wait at all. 3/23/19 Hang out in Panera Bread isn't a bad way to kill some time while waiting for our car to be fixed. As we sit and talk, Sting's Fields of Gold is play on the loud speakers. The place is nice and warm even though outside looks warm and peaceful too.The sun is out, but it is still cold from the soft breeze. The food inside Panera Bread is good and the cashier has a pleasant attitude. The whole seating area is clean, because of the staff member in charge of the lobby. I can't see her now, but she has a very long ponytail. If anything needed fixing, it would be the bathrooms.* I was informed the women bathroom toilet are dripping. Check the one on the right.* The men toilet was in use, so I couldn't say. One of those disposable carpets for the urinals would be nice. Stepping on pee and tracking it around is not ideal...I could go into more detail, but you get the point. All in all, the Ten Vegetables soup was Mighty tasty. As I have expressed before I am a fan of the Panera brand in general but so far this is my favorite Panera location -- it is a nice place to sit and chat and they always have my favorite (the cinnamon scone). Bread products here are all good and fresh and the salads I have tried have all been good. This location is popular but never so overly crazy that you feel over looked or bad about wanting to sit for a while to do some business, network, hold a discussion, to talk with a friend. My one complaint / suggestion to Panera as a brand is what has been explained to me as their decaf policy (& I have encountered the same situation at all locations I have visited so I believe it is brand wide). Specifically, they have no more hot decaf coffee after 3pm and as best I can determine they do not have decaf iced coffee at all. It always strikes me as strange because if there is a time that am most likely to want decaf iced coffee it is in the later afternoon... The tables are always clean and there is something about the layout at this location that makes a number of the spots feel more private. While the staff changes regularly everyone I have encountered has been nice and attentive. read more

Weekend mid afternoon has plenty of open seating. As you may know this place can get popular and full during lunch and dinner times. I was greeted by staff while entering and exiting. A cheerful cashier took my Oder and made some good suggestions. I selected from the pick 2 section a half sandwich of ham and cheese (6/10) and the French onion soup (FOS) was (8/10). The sign on the menu said that FOS is back. I never realized it was gone. The cashier made a few good food option for drinks and sides. So overall it hit the spot. Thanks for the allergic reaction today...I asked if there was any dairy in the Everything bagel, since I have been allergic since infancy to it. The staff begrudgingly looked it up (which should have been a red flag in hindsight) and determined it did not, so I ordered the avocado/egg white on everything sandwich to-go. I got in my car and took two small bites and immediately my lips started swelling. I ran back inside and asked them what was on there, opening it up to see cheese!!! Generally, the food here at this Vienna, VA location is in line with the chain's fairly good standards. My low rating is based on their iced black tea. I visit the Vienna Maple Avenue Panera once every couple of weeks, and for the 3rd consecutive visit the iced black tea had gone bad and was not drinkable. And for the 3rd consecutive time I politely pointed out the issue. Only one of the three times was the bad tea replaced with fresh. The fact that a customer has to point out that the tea needs to be changed is bad enough, but for the staff to take no action is inexcusable and they are losing me as a customer. Side note on Panera company-wide -- a few months back the scones shrunk to about 1/2 their original size, but the prize didn't shrink at all. Bring back the full size! read more

Panera has become my go-to for comfort food: breakfast sandwiches and chicken noodle soup, to be precise. I love this particular location, as parking is (relatively) ample (with more in the back, behind Foster's), and the ordering process is always more or less painless. Their staff is friendly, plus they have the snazzy computer kiosks if the line is (too) long. I plan to try the online ordering function soon and see how that works - hopefully in my favor. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with Panera when you are craving a sandwich and some soup! I will forever be a fan, even with all the other 'fast casual' dining options popping up. By far this place is the worst Panera that I've ever been to. They have smaller portions than other Panera, but that's something I can look over. However, the poor quality food is different. Sandwiches are drenched with sauce and the lettuce and the mixed springs are wilted, browned, and slimy. I usually don't ask for a redo, but half of the mixed springs in my salad wilted and browned. Even after the redo, I found 4 or 5 slimy pieces. Ask for a refund or order something other than the salad. Well, the manager made requesting for the redo really uneasy, so try ordering anything other than salad in the first place. I think the pre-packaged soup is the best choice. To compensate for the poor quality food, they added the deliver-your-food-to-your-table service. I hope they focus on improving their food quality than on other unnecessary things to entice customers. If you don't mind the food and the "servers" moving around the tables, this place is the best Panera to goto. It's not packed with people even during the weekends. read more

Apparently their solution to high volume is to reduce service and quality rather than increase staff. REALLY TERRIBLE quality cooking here. I got the same thing I always get at Panera's, chicken tortellini alfredo and have never had such a horribly made pasta at any Panera before this one. Many of the tortellinis were overcooked, chewy or rock hard and inedible. Not to mention, they SKIMPED the crappy food they gave me, far less than the usual amount I get at Panera's. The steak and cheese panini I had tasted very bland. And my girlfriend's sandwich was skimped and the lettuce pieces were improperly cut (white parts were in the sandwich). This place must have highly underacheiving management to allow such consistently bad food to be served to customers. Would NEVER reccommend. Would give 0 stars if I could. P.S. If you thought it wasn't bad enough, the wifi is limited to 30 minute sessions. read more

Every Panera I have been to is identical, which is the definition of a chain. The food is reliably satisfactory, the clerks are all cut from the same cheerful mold, and all the windows bring in so much light. Last night the tomato soup was super delicious, as was the turkey avocado half sanwich. There is always plenty of seating here. Clean tables, however, are not always available: full of crumbs, drink droppings, odd pieces of trast. They should be wiped off periodically. Really, for all the competition for lunch in Vienna, I think it would be so much nicer if they brought your plate to the table and, most importantly, you were not expected to bus your own table. Not only that, you have to separate trays, trash, utensils, and plates. Really: customers should not have to do that unless they are at McDonalds. read more

I was only trying to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything, as in I was trying to buy more items (should be a shared goal with the staff there) and the employee should have understood that. When I didn't hear my full order I repeated it again hoping I was heard. Turned out those additional requests were never added to my order. The guy was clearly uninterested in trying to provide top notch service. Instead I think he wanted me to hurry up and leave him alone. One of my favorite restaurants in Vienna. The staff and workers there are very nice and helpful. Usually many people are not there around lunchtime, which is a shame because the place is truly amazing. Our family loves going here because the food is simple and delicious. The salads are always fresh and tasty, and the sandwiches are just spectacular. If you ask for something simple, like extra dressing, they are always nice about and deliver it to you very quickly. Panera is kind of like a do-it-yourself place where you choose your own tables, and get your own drinks. They deliver the food to your table very fast, which means you won't be starving for another 20 minutes waiting. Another awesome thing about this place is that there are many healthy choices and there is a large variety of different foods on the menu. Although the bakery may be a once-in-a-while kind of thing, I have to tell you, the cookies are to die for.
