I enjoy the monthly coffee club for unsweetened iced tea. I miss the green tea. They changed their teas to the "charged" teas but I'm not personally into them. This location has ample parking, clean dining area and friendly staff. I wish they had a drive thru. The bakery sells out fast so order early at this location. I love their blueberry scones too! I am at this Panera location fairly frequently, to meet up with a friend. The staff is always welcoming. Yesterday, there was only one woman taking orders and making specialty drinks. As it got busier, the manager stepped up to help. What can I say about their food. Always consistently delicious. The bagels are always good! And I love that there is no pressure to hurry it along. This review isn't really against this particular location, but Panera in general, as this is a recurring problem as I visit the place less and less. I ordered a full sized Napa chicken salad sandwich and a bowl of broccoli cheddar. $17! My order came up fairly quickly, but when I got back to my table, I noticed the pickle. It's the one on the left in the photo. The one that looks like an old man who's lived a tough desert life. I went back to the counter and asked to get something a bit more fresh, so they plopped the pickle on the right onto the plate. It's the one that looks like the old man's wife. A tad younger, but has also had the same tough life. The chicken salad was nearly tasteless, and the entire thing started to crumble immediately. I ate most of it with my soup spoon. Speaking of soup, the broccoli cheddar has so little broccoli that it shouldn't even be mentioned. Just call it cheddar soup. Come on Panera, you're better than this. Be better! read more

The was the perfect place for me to come with my elderly parents. Dad has extreme mobility issues (and attitude - but that's another story). Fortunately, they are Panera regulars, so once we got him seated he knew what he wanted me to order him. Seating was ample despite it being Friday afternoon. YAY! Ordering was simple and the girl was patient. Mom had already rushed up and put her order in and paid. She offered to pay for me, too - but I said NO as we were celebrating Dad's birthday so I wanted to pay. I put in his specialized order along with mine. I went big on the size of our salads figuring go big or go home. For our 2 large salads and drinks it came to about $24. I had an old paper gift card that I had got from a CoinStar - never again. It had faded and was illegible, so I had handwritten the card # as well as the PIN. Bless her heart, the cashier nicely accepted the sad piece of paper and keyed in the numbers. I was so glad to get rid of that. And then paid the remainder with a credit card. Our salads were ready pretty quick. Mine was very good. Dad's came as ordered - without cheese and dressing on the side. The size was fairly good - still a bit pricey - along the lines of what you pay at Applebees I guess. I ate all the good stuff off mine and much of the nice arugala greens. Dad - well - he said his lettuce was too cold and didn't hardly eat any of his salad - like 2 bites. Now if you're scrunching up your face and saying LETTUCE TOO COLD? You are not alone as that's what I said too. It makes no sense. So I got a to-go box and took the salad home. Please shut this location down. Any time I have eaten here, I anticipate being disappointed. It's almost comical with how bad of a restaurant this is. So now they are banished. Wife picked up what was supposed to be two vegetarian Mediterranean salads on the way home from work. When she got home, we opened the salads and noticed copious amounts of sliced chicken/turkey. I work on both sides of greater Cleveland east and west through out the month. I'm at 3 or 4 different paneras generally in the morning and the panera on Detroit and Columbia is by far the friendliest and welcoming one out of all of them. Parmatown is also one of the best. This location didn't even pop up on Yelp until recently. It is pretty big inside compared to other locations. Very well placed for easy in and out with ample parking. We ordered five separate meals with soups and sides to go. Food was as good as any other Panera and came out perfectly as ordered with a minimal wait. Pastries were fresh and delicious. We had a fresh baked cookie while we waited and definitely did not regret that choice. Overall, a very nice addition to the Westlake food options! read more

I go here pretty often because it's near where I work. The service is average the food is average. It's just an average location. There's nothing special about this store. The bins are usually full of dirty dishes and a lot of the tables are usually dirty.The staff at times can be too busy talking to each other instead than taking orders. Purchased two barbecue chicken sandwiches and 4 cookies. Wait was 40+ minutes so I ordered, paid for it and came back 40 minutes later. My order was ready. I didn't look at the sandwiches. When I arrived at the Browns game and wanted to eat the sandwiches I was shocked to see a very small amount of barbecued chicken between two slices of dry white bread (about 3/4 inch thick). I'm waiting and waiting in front of the line (the line is going all the way to the entrance), while several employees are catering to the whims of some demanding, overly sociable old man on the side. This shouldn't require more than one employee. I realize there is a pandemic going on, but this is plain incompetence. Finally, an employee shows up at the front registers, and she informs me that they won't take my 20 dollar bill, after I give her my order! Are you kidding me?! I've been to many restaurants (in many states), both 'chains' and 'mom and pop' owned, and they always take my 20 dollar bills. It's not as if I gave them a 100 dollar bill. I realize that there is a change shortage, but not a bill shortage. In fact, many places i've been to would just round up the total to the nearest dollar bill (or expect me to) to avoid the change issue. So after waiting in line for a good amount of time, and giving them my order, to be told that they don't accept a 20 dollar bill clearly indicated to me that this Panera's just doesn't care about their customers! You would think that such a huge, national chain would be able to handle this simple important issue! Pathetic. read more

This place is literally one of the worst establishments I have ever been to. I ordered a simple small mac n cheese and strawbery banana smoothie. It took 45 MINUTES for them to do that easy task. Very terrible staff and just not very nice at all. During this time I finished my cookie and a smoothie. After the unreasonable wait the assistant manager Stephanie told me that it was the short staff issue and tried to play it off like it was our fault. While eating my food I found a hair and the baguette was stale. I used to love Panera and now I am really sad that when I think about Panera it makes me mad. Online Rapid Pick up order was late by 40 minutes 2 weeks ago, when I complained they could care less- finally offered same order for free at future date - So I called in today to redeem, was put on hold, no one ever picked up, called back and got "disconnected", called 3rd time, 12:30pm placed order for 1pm pick up and when I went to pick it up waited 30 more minutes! This location is a joke. Rapid pick up means 30+ mins after the supposed pick up time. Employees couldn't be bothered to care - which shows even more when we get the wrong food more often than not. I once got into an argument with someone because I didn't believe there was a Panera in Westalke. I was wrong because I'm sitting in it right now! This Panera is the definition of "tucked away in a strip mall." Located on Detroit Road between small office parks and residential areas are a few plazas with random (literally random) stores, boutiques, and a Panera. This one is on the smaller size and there's no community room. There is a small patio. The staff is always very friendly. Once, I ordered the wrong soup. I asked for a to-go container, off handedly mentioning that I had ordered a soup I could not eat and I'd bring it home for someone else to eat. I didn't expect for Panera to offer to provide me the soup I wanted, since it was my mistake. They told me to go ahead and tell them what soup I actually wanted and they gave it to me for free. I use one of those frequent customer cards and I have a free pastry and bagel coming my way. Anyone want to be my date to Panera? read more

This Panera is pretty good. The food is always consistent and the employees are efficient. They are usually walking around to help clear off tables too. My only complaint is that I wish this location was bigger. It is always very busy, and often times, there are no tables available. I had the single worst meal of my life tonight. I ordered the Thai chicken dumpling broth bowl and it was 100% inedible!!!!! Made entirely of what seemed to be salted (and by salted I mean a whole shaker of salt) beef broth and soy sauce, I had to add three * the liquid with water. the chicken was HARD (what little there was), the vegetables were soggy and brown and the dumplings were dinky and tasteless! my daughters Mac and cheese was also the saltiest Mac n cheese Ever. Let ppl add salt if they want. The staff was also rude and slow. I know, I know, what did I expect from a sandwich place? You're right. But for 8.50, it better have SOME flavor or redeeming quality.
