I frequent this location a few times a week. The staff always is friendly and greets me. Gustavo provided great service on my last visit and another employee I believe to be an assistant manager made sure I had a stopper as I had ordered a hot tea. I just moved back to the area this Panera has been open and here for a long time. It's nothing special and the food is always good and the staff is always for the most part you decent. I went in right before closing one night and wanted the one dozen mini chocolate chip cookies and when I asked how much it was, the girl said 3999. I just looked at her. She was serious. I said I think it's a mistake. She said let me check and I said no, it's definitely a mistake. 12 small chocolate chip cookies is not $40. Turns out it was a mistake. She was embarrassed still lovely. Just typical of situations today. Just pay attention to what you're being charged. Everything is more expensive but not that expensive staff needs to be trained better so far everything I've had there has been good and I'm gonna still continue to go. read more

I've been to many Panera Bread restaurants around the country and this might be the worst one. I think that the Panera Bread menu has a lot of choices and the food is decent but it's gotten very expensive and theyve reduced their portions. Even that didn't stop me from going all together until today when my husband told me about a story of an employer cussing at a customer regarding not getting a tip when using a kiosk. Panera Bread's customer service has really gone down hill. They were always kind of slow but the food processing has gotten slower and the customer service is pretty poor. Don't go there if you're in a rush as they frequently bumble orders. Most of the workers we've encountered at this location and at others seem like they dislike their job and don't seem to care about getting fired or don't feel their job is at risk the way they treat customers. It's pretty reprehensible. I've seen workers arguing with customers about orders when all they wanted was their order to be corrected. The work ethic is poor and the mentality of workers has been really bad in my experience and it shows in the under 3 stars for all the Panera Bread restaurants in the area. The culture comes from the top and when the service is bad the food doesn't matter. I'd just say stay away. read more

What a disaster this place is! Next one that should close down. I waited in line behind 1 customer that took 20 minutes! Who only ordered a drink and a bun. They seemed to be gabbing more than anything else. I finally left the restaurant, I didn't order, I was a family of 3 hungry people. It was an honor coming to the worlds worst Panera. Every table was dirty while putting up Christmas decorations at the register. They got our order wrong 3 times. If you prop the soda machine up on the front end, on top of some small pieces of something, the water will roll towards the drain better and decrease flooding. Also, pouring boiling hot water down the drain can unclog old sugar and grime build up. Everything is going good at this location! read more

If someone is purchasing pastries, the cashier waits on the entire line of people until they get a free moment before even starting the order. What the hell.... Believe it or not, I had never eaten at a Panera Bread before so when my walking partner suggested stopping for breakfast, I thought was a good time to check it out. We went inside, placed our orders at the counter, were given a buzzer and decided on a outside table since the heat had not set in yet. As breakfast happens to be my favorite meal of the day, I ordered an egg white sandwich with avocado on a multigrain bun, hold the cheddar. This sandwich was right up my alley, I thought. While we were sitting waiting for the buzzer to go off, noticed our table had not been cleaned in a while so covered the sticky, jammy sections with a napkin. About 15 minutes later, the buzzer indicated was time to pick up out food. My friend ordered yogurt and granola, a very simple breakfast which she seemed to enjoy. My sandwich could have been tastier if it had not been dripping in what appeared to be grease. I dabbed what I could with my napkin although it was too late as the grease had permeated the bun and it too was greasy. The sandwich had absolutely no taste. Honestly, I had never thought of anyone messing up a breakfast sandwich although I continue to learn new things every day. My suggestion for you Panera is to be sure your employees wipe the outside tables throughly and often. With respect to the sandwich, it doesn't have to drip to be tasty, I understand the need for a little oil on the grill, however, little is the key word when we are talking about one egg white. Would I return? I can't say for sure, with so many breakfast options in the area, there are many yet to explore. read more

It has been a long time since I have eaten at Panera so my daughter and I went there for dinner. The soup bowls were half full at best and lukewarm. Our sandwiches were terrible. I ordered the Toasted Garden Caprese and it had a teeny tiny piece of cheese, not even a bite's worth. I included a picture because the sandwich speaks for itself. I asked the employee who was making the sandwiches if he could possibly add a bit more cheese. He said no. I asked about the soup being half full. He said it came pre-portioned and there was nothing he could do. And he seemed angry. Nothing tastes good either. $40 down the tubes. I did a chargeback on my credit card so maybe all is not lost. I can't imagine this place being open much longer. Bad food and even worse service. read more

I've never been a fan of Panera. After all, I've been to 6 other locations, in other words, I keep trying -- but to no avail. But I try again, someone gave me a gift card...sigh. The location is nice enough. Long (and narrow), lots of seating, big kitchen area. Perhaps it's worst (and it should strive to be the best) is the front bakery area. Very small, maybe 5-6 foot, with bread and bagels along the wall. That front area is very important! And, by 4pm, they only had 12 cookies and a few odds and ends. Not presentable nor appealing. For LUNNER (late lunch, early dinner), I ordered a SMOKEHOUSE BBQ CHICKEN SANDWICH [$9.99, 3.5 stars] -- excellent white pulled chicken (very tender!) but small portion, slice of cheese, fried onion ring. Really good taste! But the bread, ugh. It was thick slices (like banana bread), it felt as I was eating all bread. Wouldn't order again, at least, on that kind of bread. This is for the Westlake Village store on Lindero Canyon specifically. Good location. Plenty of parking. Great people. There's generally consistency when you order the same items, so you know what you're getting. The food is fresh, but just seems uninspired. Different salads taste the same with some minor variances. This is probably due more to corporate decisions than their local creation. Biggest problem I have is with cleanliness. Today there were 3 other people dining. I counted at least 3 employees. There were no plates that had been left on the tables, yet there were a few straw wrappers and a couple small food items on the floor. And plenty of crumbs on the floor. Also a piece of paper on the floor in front of the registers. Tables were askew. Someone should always go around with a push sweeper, and take a moment to straighten the furniture. I've seen the manager's name on the door change several times over the years. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. When prices were lower I was more forgiving. But $18+ for a "you pick two" lunch (not even including a drink) and I'm starting to think I can get more for my $20 elsewhere. read more

Used to LOVE this place with their excellent customer service, reasonable prices and most importantly their regular customers. Recently however with their insanely high prices and with their automated cashiers, the excellent customer service is gone, their associates have been laid off, and the regulars don't come back because they can't afford this place anymore. A single kitchen sink cookie is $6.59, a chocolate croissant is $5.59, a soufflé is $7.99 and they have severely limited their bagel selection, not to mention they are $3 each! We have seen this before, this will be the end of Panera like many others. Very sad. read more

The Napa chicken salad sandwich was very odd tasting. I am used to the chicken salad from either Gelson's or Trader Joe's which is delightful. This had an off-putting flavor, and was on sourdough bread. This type of chicken salad does not belong on sourdough bread. It belongs on a brioche bun or fluffy, white bread or crispy French roll. It was very salty and tangy and not at all delicious. On a good note, the wild rice chicken soup was very good. I doctored it up a little bit and it was delicious. The warm Mediterranean bowl with chicken was just meh. Just a bunch of random foods put together with a Mediterranean theme. I think because it was so expensive through DoorDash, I am looking at this with unkind eyes. I will try it again in the store where prices are much more reasonable and I will get it even fresher. Just don't order the Napa chicken salad. read more

Giovanni was such a sweet energy and I was able to take my time to order even though they were about to Close. Ppl these days are anxious about dining out and also just stressed with this unfortunate Pandemic. It's nice to walk into a business and know the employees who also are dealing with the same pandemic and whatnot can be grounded and kind. The idea of Panera Bread is great, but the execution... Not so much. Both for lunch and breakfast, this location just doesn't meet expectations. Our company initially went with Panera Bread for our weekly breakfasts, but we switched to a different caterer after repeat issues. We'd order well over 50 breakfast sandwiches, pastries, juices, fruit, etc. every single week for months. They treated us like we were a one-time customer every time, not really putting in the effort and enthusiasm you'd expect. When we started noticing sloppily prepared sandwiches, we pointed them out to Panera Bread. They said that's just how it's done or they're just busy. We worked with them for months. We never felt like we were valued customers here, especially by the catering assistant who delivered our food each week. Calling in to make changes to our order would be a hassle. No one knew about our order and no one really cared to find it. If I asked to leave a message and have her call me back, I wouldn't get a call. The caterer would also arrive at different times to fit other customers' requested delivery times. They would call 5-10 minutes before as a heads-up... Not enough time and not what we wanted. Once, our food arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The caterer might be a one-girl show, but that's the company's fault -- not ours. These are big, pricey orders... We can't accept below mediocre. We had to go elsewhere. They recently emailed me to say they have a new menu. Okay, send it over. Will give it a look... Never heard back. As for lunch, the place is okay. Not sure how group lunches fare, but ordering for individuals isn't too bad. Still disappointing, though. The menu (and the menu pictures, might I add) makes it seem like the salads are fresh and the sandwiches are airy. In person, the salads and sandwiches are soggy and just lacking in presentation. For the price, this isn't a stellar choice for lunch either. The menu is what you'd expect at a nice brunch place, but this location doesn't pull it off. Not even close. read more

I know food workers are had to find post covid shut down, but they are really scrapping the bottom of the barrel with the help working at this Panera. Ordered a half sandwich, soup, fruit, cookie, bottle of water, and a flavored tea. Going to pick up my order, there is only the sandwich, soup, and fruit...nothing else. I look at the worker who just stares blankly back. When I ask about the rest of the order, she has a puzzled look. She pulls the receipt out of the trash and reads the rest of the order. She hands the receipt to another worker, who proceeds to tell me they are out of bottled water........................I finally ask, "Well, what about a cup so I can get some water from the soda fountain?!" She hands me a cup for water, one for my tea, and the cookie..............I guess Panera charges 1.99 for a cup of water since I wasn't offered a refund for the bottled water. read more

They no longer have the Napa chicken salad sandwich (used to be my favorite) and they have gotten rid of all their cashiers so you have to order at the kiosk or on the app. To cut costs they have cut jobs. I don't mind ordering on line for a "to-go" order, but I am not going to choice a restaurant that insists on that method in-house. This location is one of the dirtier ones I have ever been to. The tables never seemed to be cleaned and the floor is terrible. Food has already been decent enough but nothing to write home about. They are really on top of their to go food and have that area worked out really well to grab and go. What baffles me is the long line it always has for overpriced, mediocre food. I come here semi-regularly for breakfast, depending on how good traffic is, and if I have time. For breakfast, I usually order the chicken noodle soup. It comes with a very delicious, fresh, and hot bread roll. The bread gets 5 stars from me. The soup gets 3-4 stars for me. While good, the soup doesn't come with much substance, and sometimes comes with inconsistent taste, though usually it tastes pretty good. The prices: For what you get, I believe this place to be a little over-priced. I give it 2.5 stars in terms of price. The service: The employees here seem to be nice, and the food comes quick enough. No real complaints in this department, as I'm yet to have a bad experience. I will be back. This place really doesn't deserve all the negative comments and reviews in my opinion, so don't let them deter you from trying this place out.
