We came here before at night at the Fred Kavli theater concert as it's walkable and a couple of the couples were in the mood for pizza. My wife and I split a BBQ Chicken and because I can't do dairy they gave us cheese on the side which she put over her half. I also had a root beer. The pizza was good and others liked theirs as well. Unfortunately, CPK gets a 2 star from me. As this was my first time dining in, it was very distasteful. At first it was 5 star service as we were quickly sat as the restaurant was not busy at all. Then we were served by a gentlemen who might have been the manager who took our drink orders. So far things were all good. Then everything just went sideways. No one took our orders, my sister-in-law actually had to go to the hostess to ask who is our waiter/waitress. That is when Hayley took our orders. By time she took our orders at least 5 other parties were sat prior to our orders being taken, then to add to that the 5 parties that sat after us were served their food first while we still waiting for ours. Then to add to this wonderful experience, it was impossible to get her attention for a refill. It just wasn't a good experience unfortunately, then on top of that my finance was hyping up the butter cake, but Hayley just handed us the check without even asking us if we wanted dessert. It just seemed that our party was deliberately ignored and no one wanted to service us. I think we still tipped even with how mediocre the customer service was. My husband & I come to CPK on our date nights here & there and we lovee the food! It's almost always amazing and fresh! (Which it was good this time as well) BUT on Monday we came in for our anniversary. It wasn't super busy but apparently our server was busy so another server took our order & we ordered everything (our usual) all at once with him & he said he would give it to our server to put in. A few minutes later the host brings me my drink & then a different girl (server) brings my husband's drink. Then a little later, that server drops off bread but still doesn't say a word to us. Then we see her going to all of the tables around us and talking to them like normal and things seem to slow down for her. She comes back and stands kinda far from us and offers for us to buy take home pizzas (only thing she said to us so far). We then realize that's probably our server but it was just weird that she didn't introduce herself or say anything to us. We saw her name tag & her name is Diana. Then the guy server brings us our food & she walks by after a little & just glanced at us and walked away. Then a while after we finished eating, she asked if I wanted a box & so she brought me one and then left. We sat there for another 10 plus minutes just waiting for the check. She finally comes and brings it and tries to sell us the take home pizzas again. That was all she said to us the whole time. It was just a strange experience & not a great one for our anniversary especially. Kinda made us regret going there that night. I believe that guy that took our order & dropped off the foods name is Julian and he was a better server to us than her should've given him her tip. (I was a server for a few years & my husband has been for a lot of years so we have a lot of sympathy for them) but this was just bad. She also spent her free time standing near the bar and chatting with coworkers instead of checking up on us. Updated review! We stopped going here because the quality control is a joke. But we thought what the hell, let's try again. So after a year or two or whenever we last left this review, we ordered delivery which was brought by an Uber driver. No issues with delivery, it was prompt, driver was super nice, all was well. But the food, wow. Nothing has changed. They still take 0 pride in anything they do. They forgot a couple things in our order, two were the KEY ingredients in the meal (the dressing for the salad and the sauce for the pizza). It was basically inedible. The best part? I called just to let the manager know that it's incredible that their employees can't do the simplest of tasks. I didn't want a refund, I wanted nothing but to alert them to the idiots packing the food. Instead of even listening and acknowledging what I was saying, I was interrupted and advised that because the food was delivered by a third party, I have to call them for any grievances. This place continues to be a joke of a restaurant. The bag was sealed with their stickers. The nice old lady who delivered it certainly didn't undo the stickers and steal our salad dressing and other toppings. And then perfectly reseal the bag. That just did not happen. I truly can't wait for this place to go out of business. If corporate is reading this, you'll know why this place went under. BH location is still amazing because they care. Not a frequent visitor of this place like we are for Cheesecake Factory in the mall, we did like to to eat here from time to time we also like to take advantages of Costco gift cards 75$ for 100$ This time I purchased the gift card from Costco website while we sat in the restaurant. when it was time to pay, floor manager( a woman) came out interrogated us asking where and when we got the gift card then telling us we cannot use the gift card because company policy 3 hrs waiting period, and this is to prevent public using the cards for the $25 discount. Am I hearing this right?? I can easily go to any other restaurant using gift cards I purchased at my own convenience and I know I will never have a problem, whose rule is it to say these gift cards must be gifted to be used?! Sometimes we are creatures of habits and we always tend to gravitate to the same plates at CPK. The Kung pao spaghetti is our favorite. It has just enough spice to make you sniffle and the flavor of all the ingredients is mixed just right. My daughter loves going near Valentines because they have the heart shaped pizza. We ordered the lovers deal on Valentines which I think was $40/$50 but it includes the 2 entrees and appetizer and a dessert to share. We were only disappointed that we got what seemed like the bottom of the bag for chips because it was a bunch of smaller pieces and we couldn't really dip correctly without getting our fingers dirty. We of course ordered the butter cake with vanilla ice cream on top to get that perfect hot and cold balance. That's our favorite to share because we all fight over it. EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! All 30 of my guests could NOT stop raving about how delicious everything was! I was beyond impressed with the incredible taste, freshness, quality and attention to detail that was included with my order! Jerry, was an absolute pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to make my event perfect. From the very beginning, Jerry was incredibly helpful and attentive to every detail. He took the time to listen to my needs, offered thoughtful suggestions, and handled every aspect of the order with such care. He even surprised me and included extra dressings, when I had voiced my concerns about there not being enough! This CPK is a pretty good location. Some of the menu changes have been interesting but I believe that is corporate driven. We went there for early VD dinner and were very happy. They have a $60 dinner which is a lot of food for a very good price. You will definitely have leftovers. The only concern is last time we were there, the server we had seemed angry, but we don't know why. I hope that she was having a tough day, because everyone else helping in the CPK was the usual CPK experience. I have been going to CPK for over four decades and still love the product. I like it when they have the dodgers incentive when they win, because you get a free cheese pizza. I don't know if they will have that incentive in 2026, but I hope they do. read more

I've grown up going to this location and there are a few things from the menu I absolutely LOVE! The BBQ chicken chopped salad, artichoke dip, Szechwan chicken dumplings, chicken lettuce wraps, avocado egg rolls, and the sparkling berry lemon mocktail are some of my favorites! I do have to say though, for it being known as California Pizza Kitchen, the pizza in my opinion is just okay. It's not bad but it doesn't exceed my expectations especially it being a pizza kitchen. Diving right in, I love the food. This restaurant has managed to keep the same flavors and same vibe ever since I was a young child. I recently tried this Thai pizza, which was fantastic!! Great flavors and textures, I nearly ate the entire thing in one sitting. However, I do wish that the service was better, we wait so long to get seated even if we've called ahead. The waitresses here are not welcoming and seem to always be very reserved. The man who waited on our table this previous time however was awesome, I forgot his name, but he wore a Disneyland castmember name tag and I thought that was so cool!! We were a party of four here last night. We were seated just before 6pm but did not get out food until about 7pm. We were not able to finish our dinners because we were going to a concert next door. We have never had a problem with arriving at 6 to attend a show at 7:30 until last night. We spoke to the GM Beronica and she told our friend that "it takes about 30 minutes to get your food after you order". Our friend asked why they didn't have more people cooking in the kitchen on busy nights. She said "they had the maximum number of people working in the kitchen". And she also said they also "had a lot of to go orders". It did not look like they had a lot of people working back there. Our server Axel was very nice but it also looked like they did not have that many servers working. Why don't they have MORE people working on busy nights AND not blame it on to go orders? Why should to go orders get filled before dine in customers? We were offered free desserts and we took two to go. Nice offer but if we had to take out dinners to go (we were late for the concert) HOW WOULD WE HAVE TIME TO RELAX AND EAT DESSERT?? Beronica also told us WE NEED to get there at 5:00 for a 7:30 show. We have never had to get there that early - 5pm for a 7:30 concert = CRAZY and unacceptable. BOTTOM LINE : CPK management needs to better staff during busy times OR they will LOSE business. I have to give this place a zero based on the new Manager "Veronica" which probably will not last long. She has been with company for a few months and has a very poor attitude. Most people complain when issues arise, but not everyone compliments when things do go right. I wanted to speak with Veronica to compliment one of the employees the service she provided. Instead of her recognizing the compliments, she made it about herself and did not even care what we have to say about the good employee that was working there. This is why people do not last at this location. It is because of poor Management like VERONICA. I think Veronica need to take a management class and also learn how to deal with public to provide a good experience. Maybe she should learn from her own employees. She does not look like she enjoys her job whatsoever. Instead of her, taking the compliment and going back to let the employee know. She made it about her and never acknowledged the nice things that we had to say about the employee. She ruined our experience eating at Cpk as other guests at the restaurant that Veronica had a nasty attitude. Hopefully she will not last long so the staff can have a better working environment. We finally got our food at 7:05. just quick enough to gobble it up but not quite enough time to do so. Walked over CPK since I was already getting serviced at Toyota thousand oaks. Cpk was literally at a walking distance. We were immediately seated. We we're given the option of indoor or outdoor seating. Our server was Nia. Our visit started great. We were immediately given a menu and our drink order was taken within 5 minutes. Nia took our order and was super kind to customize one order to my liking which was the chicken picatta. We wanter to go more with a kids serving which she made it happen. After placing our order we waited around 15 minutes to receive our food. Many people came right after that. After observation we noticed their server was quick to ask for refills and also serve and take others orders. After being served we did not see NIA for nearly 30minutes. We gave up! I am not much to complain. She finally came by we asked for a tab and a to go box. We decided to skip desert since we didn't want to wait much longer. 10minutes passed and no sign.
