We used the drive-through at the South York location earlier this week, and waited at least 10 minutes to order. While waiting in front of the window, we saw the guy that takes your money tearing apart the long baguettes into portions without using gloves. When he brought the bag to the window, I asked why he wasn't wearing gloves to handle the baguettes, and he replied that he didn't really have to! After an awkward pause, he told me that if I wished, he'd give me new baguettes and wear gloves when tearing them, an offer I accepted. The you-pick-two salads did not totally fill up the plastic containers, and my Fronteta Chicken sandwich was slattered with a huge amount of the chipolte aioli, which I has to try to scrape off. I had to discard the tomatoes that were soaked with the aioli. The also did not have the focaccia, and I had to choose another bread for the sandwich. All in all, between the lack of using gloves, the small portions and high cost, as well as the gross 1/2 sandwich soaked in too much chipolte aioli, I'll pass on this restaurant. read more

or my second time in a row, I have placed an internet order. Both times, several of the food items were not prepared properly or completely prepared. Soups were missing croutons. The French onion soup did not have cheese. One salad was missing the protein for which we paid extra. This first time, I thought it was a simple mistake. Today we spent $80 dollars on soups and salads. We called the store and went back in to have the order corrected. They offered the missing ingredients rather remaking the items. So the soups got cold during our second trip. He did not apologize for the errors until we told the manager how disappointed we were. The manager's reaction was dismissive and unconcerned. I doubt that we will be back. I should have consulted the review for this store, this seems like a common issue that does not get addressed. read more

Ordered the turkey bacon bravo sandwich and this is the smallest piece of bread ever.... Even the cheese is bigger then the bread... not worth the money. Also they have that they're open till 9pm everyday and they're not. They turned me away the other night when I went there around 7pm saying their closed. The cleanliness of the building is disappointing. Dirty booths, crumbs on the table and floor. We arrived and tried ordering to support a fundraiser- the girl didn't know how to help us so she got the manager- he wasn't very friendly- but took our order- then forgot our drink cups, didn't give us a pager. M Our food took 20 minutes to come out, and only one person out of the 6 behind the counter apologized, and frankly looked like she was the only one working. Our food came out warm, nothing was hot. My job requires me to meet out in the community often. At least once a week, my coworkers and I will have our check ins at panera. The staff at panera let's us stay as long as we want, and we're typically there for about 2 hours, all on our computers and talking. The staff will even come and take our used dishes away so that we don't have to get up to stop working. The tables could be a bit cleaner, as I typically always have to wipe crumbs off of my chair. And, it typically isn't too loud or noisy inside, which is great for work. Overall, this is a weekly stop where my coworkers and I are able to work peacefully at a table for multiple hours without being disrupted. I personally love Panera, but the whole company is a little overpriced. Whenever we do get something to eat, even if it's only a yogurt and a drink it's about $10. read more

It has taken me a while to consider conducting another review of this Panera Store(located on Queen Street in York, PA) but I believe it is time. I have been to this store dozens of times over the last year and I leave disappointed more than satisfied. First, let's talk about the food: I have counted at least 36 mornings where I have visited to pick up bagels only to be told, "We are out!", and they do so rather happily . They simply cannot manage themselves to properly prepare each day a sufficient enough bagels to meet demand and bagels are a primary food item for their breakfast menu! Don't believe me, I have attached photos taken BEFORE 9am on two mornings that I arrived and they are out. Couple the lack of food with the bad service (especially on weekends!!) it is a double whammy! For example, I like to walk up and place my order at the register. They don't like talking to customers as I have been told on more than one occasion to put my order in on the kiosk. Even better, on more one occasion and after waiting for several minutes for an employee to appear to take my order, I have someone walk up and ask me, "Do you need something?" I am like, "Really, is this that difficult to understand why I am standing here?" I do caveat this by noting, there are some really good workers there, however, they are outnumbered by the ones that don't care and haven't been properly trained. This is clear when you walk through the dinning area as it is usually dirty. It is clear this stores management team cares more about the catering side of the business than building a cadre of trusted neighborhood customers. I highly recommend going to either Panera in West York or East York where the food and service is SO much better. read more

I decided to eat lunch out today, ordering The Pick two -Napa chicken sandwich and Thai soup for lunch today, Opened the sandwich to discover hardly enough chicken salad to be called a sandwich. Maybe 2-3 small slices of chicken size of a quarter. one whole grape sliced in two, two slivers of almond, it maybe filled 1/8 cup. Granted it was only 1/2 sandwich but it was more of a bread, tomato and lettuce sandwich. The soup was flavored with chicken broth, but no sight of actual chicken that I could find. So sorry to see Panera plummeting. I did call and speak to manager who offered a coupon, reason for the second star. read more

Panera is definitely gone downhill even worse than before. Went through the drive-through for one beverage and was told I had to pull around to the front of the store and wait for them to bring it out because they didn't have enough staff. If you all paid your people a decent wage maybe you wouldn't have a staffing problem. The beverage: they change their entire beverage menu and now it's all smoothies made with milk or milk substitute products. This particular one was supposed to be blueberry peach it was neither blueberry tasting nor peach tasting and the milk product in it was almond milk of which was sour and not sour in a good way I mean sour as in spoiled. This Panera just keeps getting worse and worse... to say it nicely. Every time I get food from the drive through or even for inside it is terrible. They always get the order wrong, my sandwiches always look unappetizing and squished. Last time I ordered one salad and had to look on the app afterwards because I didn't receive the salad I ordered but a different one entirely. Male Manager with dark hair and beard was rude and argued with me about a cookie for God's sake! I understood that I couldn't use the .99 bakery item for the Kitchen sink cookie, but I asked him if he could take off the 2 .99 items price and I could pay the difference in price. First of all he looked put out that he had to come up and give his approval for that and then proceeded to tell me that's not how he likes to do it. I asked him what the difference was between taking off .99 or just paying him the cash. I was driving down to Maryland this week and stopped by Panera to pick up a bagel. This is a relatively new location in a recently built strip shopping center, right off 83 South. Very clean, nice employees, not too busy for being there at the end of the main lunch rush hour. I was in and out in minutes with my bagel in hand. Perfect. read more

In a rush, first time using their drive thru. Roast turkey/kale panini and Cobb salad sounded like a perfect dinner for 2. When the order came to the window, the young lady handed me the bag and started to shut the window. I had to remind her I had not paid for my order.
