Wonderful food & huge portions. The strawberry date salad $13.99 with added chicken for $5.99 was delicious. The chicken was moist & flavorful. Our server Eduardo was awesome. So friendly & helpful. Lots of indoor seating & we weren't rushed. I'll definitely be back.

Old wilted strawberries and literally cut one strawberry into four pieces

I'm usually a fan of this restaurant and typically come for dinner, so I was really disappointed with my lunch experience today. I ordered the date salad for $15 and unfortunately, it was extremely underwhelming. The salad was mostly lettuce with very little of the other ingredients. I received two wilted strawberries, with one cut into four tiny pieces, and there was no dressing included. When I went back in to ask for it, I was initially told that it was already in the salad, only for them to realize that it wasn't and bring it out. I also specifically ordered Tucson bread, which made me wonder if the lunch orders were even being carefully read. Overall, the salad looked like it had been thrown together without much care or attention to presentation. I understand that lunch may have a different staff than dinner, because I've had much better experiences here in the past. But for $15, I expect a salad with a reasonable amount of the advertised ingredients and a little more care in its preparation. Unfortunately, today's lunch was really disappointing.

I honestly didn't know much about this place back when I lived in LA, but I finally got the chance to try it recently and I'm glad I did! I'm a big fan of Mediterranean food, so when I came here with some coworkers for lunch, I was excited to check it out. We started with the trio hummus appetizer, and wow, I didn't realize hummus could have so many different flavors! It was a fun way to try a little bit of everything, and each one was delicious. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Artichoke Pesto Pasta. I do wish it came with a little more chicken, but overall it was still flavorful and satisfying. No complaints about the taste! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and since it wasn't very busy when we visited, our food came out pretty quickly. Always a plus when you're grabbing lunch during a workday. This is definitely a great spot for a quick bite, lunch with friends or coworkers, or even larger groups since they have plenty of seating available. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Thanks, Panini, for a great experience!

We have been coming here for years, not tons but it always is so good! Inside is clean, and perfect for a casual dining experience for two or for the whole family. All of the items on the menu are great, and cooked fresh! This time I ordered the chicken soup and side Mediterranean salad because I wasn't super hungry, and they were great! We also ordered the Pesto Panini which was a first for us and o m g it was soooo good! I love all of their appetizers, so if you want one definitely get one!! Our server was attentive, friendly, and helped us achieve a great experience here (as usual) Check this place out if you're on the hunt for great Mediterranean food, we've also gone to the location in Mission Viejo at the Kaleidoscope which is equally as great as this location, we were just closer to this one this time!

Family Combo Size Issue! I've been ordering the Family Combo since 2021, when it was $44.99. It's now $74.99, and I don't mind paying more even prices have gone up. What I can't accept is paying more while receiving significantly smaller portions. The manager (Giselle) and corporate (Anthony) insisted the portions are the same. I attached photos you can decide for yourself. I also have video of the food being transferred into the old trays if anyone wants to see it.

Amazing Kabob restaurant serving large portions that is packed with flavor. The meats are all juicy and delicious, and the strawberry date salad is a wonderful side. The interior is huge with tons of seating, and there is outdoor seating as well. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Great Vegan and Vegetarian options. Eddie was the BEST! Friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. We'll definitely be back!

3.5 stars. First time at this location bu the food is consistent at Panini Kabob grill. I enjoyed my strawberry date salad with salmon added for the protein. My cousins & hubby had sandwich & salad or soup combo. Everyone was content with their food. What lacked was the service. They were nice & friendly enough but our waiter changed in the middle of our meal - the first waiter brought the second waiter to inform us - but after that they never came by to check on us. I had to flag down 3 different people to finally get a refill on my water and they only refilled my cup. My husband's water cup had less than 1/5 left & my cousins' coke & lemonade were both at the bottom of the cups. Then waiter didnt even ask if anyone else wanted refill on their drinks. And it was a HOT day. Then again nobody comes around to even ask if we wanted our bill. My husband went up and paid. Je still tipped 20% & I was like "...for what???" They really did not earn their tip as none of them seemed to care about their customers which reflects they do not value their jobs. I probably will not return to this location.

We went on a weekend for lunch. Chicken kebab and beef kebab were delicious! Everything was great! Service was fairly quick. It was probably the best chicken kebab I've ever had. It was juicy and not overly done

Comically bad service. We waited outside in the sun just to be acknowledged by the host, then waited again to be seated -- despite many open tables. We were placed in a tucked-away niche under a loud speaker for no apparent reason. Even after asking to move to a table in the open area, service never recovered. Long waits to take drink orders, long waits for the drinks themselves, and another long wait just to place a food order. Our glasses sat empty most of the meal. A food runner brought our cup of soup quickly, which gave us false hope. Unfortunately, four different requests for drink refills and salad dressing to others all yielded nothing. They only arrived after I stood up at the front counter and flagged down our server. Even then, staff seemed indifferent and disengaged. The shish kebab was excellent -- credit where due -- but the service overshadowed everything. When paying, the server apologized but blamed being "short-staffed." That wasn't accurate; we counted five servers in a half-full restaurant. Not taking responsibility sealed it. We won't return to this location.

The service is one of the many reasons we keep coming back. The servers recognize us and greet us like old friends, making every visit feel warm and personal. What makes this place even more special is that it's a family-owned business. The owners are often present, personally welcoming guests and ensuring everyone has a great dining experience. Their hospitality creates a welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers returning time and time again. My go-to meal is the Boneless Chicken Kabab served with basmati rice and a fresh Mediterranean salad. The chicken is incredibly flavorful, well marinated, and cooked to perfection every single time. I honestly don't know their secret, but the chicken is always juicy and tender, never dry like many other kabab places we've tried. Consistency is hard to find and they absolutely nail it. Another favorite of ours is the Koobideh Combo, which includes both Beef and Chicken Koobideh Kababs served with Mediterranean salad and your choice of basmati rice or rice mixed with lentils and raisins. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and every bite is satisfying. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. It's no surprise that so many customers become regulars. The restaurant is usually packed during lunchtime, which speaks volumes about its popularity. We typically arrive around 11:30 AM to beat the lunch rush and enjoy a more relaxed dining experience. If you're looking for delicious Mediterranean food, friendly service, generous portions, and great value, this place is definitely worth a visit. It's one of those hidden gems that keeps us coming back every time we're in Costa Mesa.

It's pretty far from home, but I…read morecould easily work it into the flight path so to speak, between the Tustin REI and 17th Street in Costa Mesa. Located in a small but busy plaza, HOK is a small, potentially packed restaurant with a few tables outside. About half full mid afternoon on a Saturday, i got a table and quickly made a decision to try the combination plate with a chicken and kubideh kabob, with rice. Next time I'll branch out, but this first sample provided much pleasure and evidence that they can't do anything wrong (except be closed when I'm craving more ;) A few minutes after placing my order the warm flatbread came out with butter. Comparatively, many other Persian restaurants use Lavash sections, so I enjoyed the contrast. The neighboring table of four received their plates one at a time, so I figured the kitchen and grill were probably also fairly constricted like the lobby. Nonetheless, it didn't take long and the generous, colorful portions were a sight to behold! The first thing I noticed was how moist and tender both kabobs were. Not burnt or dry anywhere on either type. That's attributable to the elevated method of grilling, but here the chef has it down to a science. The second observation came later when I didn't feel excessively thirsty, or bloated, ir dehydrated. Some restaurants really brine the meat while marinating, but here it's another level of perfection. Good service and a reasonable price, although the menu prices might be behind current food costs. Still, it was totally worth it. I didn't have a way to keep leftovers in a safe temperature range, so I ate everything. Full, but not stuffed.

I had a hard time hearing the employee, so I politely said, "I'm sorry?" several times because I genuinely couldn't understand what he was asking. Instead of being patient or trying to speak more clearly, he became visibly irritated. His tone became increasingly rude, and he raised his voice at me as if I was the problem. Despite the poor phone connection, I managed to complete my order. At the end of the call, he abruptly said, "It will be ready in 20 minutes," and hung up on me without a "thank you," "goodbye," or even asking if I needed anything else. I've never experienced such unprofessional and disrespectful customer service. The issue was clearly with the phone connection, not with me, yet I was treated as though I was inconveniencing him. The interaction left me so upset that I called back and canceled my order. There are plenty of restaurants that value their customers and know how to treat people with basic courtesy. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. I won't be returning.
