I debated leaving this review because I come to this Panino location often and am usually very pleased but today was a huge disappointment. So much so that I'll hesistate returning. I ordered one of my usuals: Chicken Curried Salad, but this time it was full of bugs. I came across 3 bugs (& there may've been more) attached to the lettuce leafs (see attached photos). I think it goes without saying why this is a huge let down and of course, extremely gross. Please do better, Panino.

Tasty sandwiches and paninis! Staff were cordial and polite, we had ordered for pickup. We were in and out quite quick!

#15 Goat cheese, salami, sun-dried tomato on focaccia bread.

So damn fresh. Your whole order (soup, sandy, chips) will leave you happy. You'll look forward to your next future purchase as well. We're not local and were on the hunt for a sandwich spot in the area. Shop is located at the Montecito Country Mart. Ordered the #15 with a broccoli chedder soup Tip: order ahead of time. parking is terrible. So give yourself some grace and time.

In my quest for the perfect veggie sandwich I recently stopped by Panino's. I'm not vegetarian but I love a good veggie sammich. They have a pretty good selection of vegetarian offerings, so I went with the Mixed Veggie Sandwich- Marinated sun-dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, greens, and a few other tasty toppings. It wasn't the absolute best veggie sandwich I've had, but it was pretty good. All fresh, quality ingredients. The staff was friendly, and my food was ready in minutes. They are on the pricey side for a sandwich, but really about average for an upscale deli. I'll be back.

OMG!! We only thought they had the Los Olivia location and there are actually 5! Mind blown

I love, Love, LOVE me some Panino!!! Yeah, "it's just a sandwich" some people say! "You can get a sandwich anywhere" others will exclaim!! But my question to you is... would you drive an hour for a foot long at Subway or a large sub at Quiznos? What about the Giant sub at Jersey Mikes??? I didn't think so. Well this Saturday, I specifically got In my car and drove to beautiful Montecito to get my sandwich and then drove over to the beach by Santa Barbara City College and went to town on my #11. =) So what makes Panino so special you ask? It's the fact that they are a small mom and pop sandwich spot with 6 locations all within Santa Barbara County. This allows for the ingredients to stay fresh and to have consistency across the board. I first fell in love with Panino in Los Olivos, but discovered this location was even closer to my home and have made this hour drive on a few different occasions since then to reminisce this beautiful sandwich spot all made with that Santa Barbara County Love. Thank you Panino for giving me the chance to drive along the coast and come give you some well deserved business.

I am adding another five star review for this location! Very friendly service and extremely fresh ingredients! My friend and I ate outside after playing tennis and it was the perfect lunch.

I loved the vinegar inside the sandwhich. There was a little too much lettuce but other than that the sandwich tasted great.

Even though there weren't many Yelp reviews, something about it caught my eye, so the next morning I decided to stop in on my way to work for my absolute favorite--bagel and lox. This little gem is tucked right in the heart of Montecito, in a charming shopping center with cute patio tables out front. Inside, it's a small, cozy space with a counter where you place your order. I ordered my bagel and lox and was told it would just be a few minutes. While I waited, I wandered into the tiny market next door--and oh my gosh, it was adorable. Shelves filled with amazing imported olive oils, jams, cheeses... all the things you want to take home even when you don't need them. By the time I stepped back outside, the gentleman who took my order brought my food out to me, ready to go. And let me tell you... this bagel was everything. It came open-faced with cream cheese, fresh tomato slices, onions, capers, and a pickle spear. But the real star? The lox. So fresh, so flavorful, and actually generous in portion size. So many places skimp, but not here--this was worth every bite and then some. It was filling and absolutely delicious. Service was fast, friendly, and genuinely hospitable. The gentleman working the counter was knowledgeable, helpful, and clearly takes pride in what they serve. Pricing was right on par with other local spots, but the quality and portions definitely put this place a step above. I'll absolutely be back. There are several things on the menu I can't wait to try--especially the matzoh ball soup, which looked phenomenal.

She was so rude to us. She told us she didn't have one available and to go to a gas station. Once we told her we were in line to order, she told us there was one for use in a snarky way. We chose to leave. Mind you, we are two white people. Needless to say we went to the delicious Italian restaurant across the street. I want to be able to give her a pass since she was quite rotund and maybe her blood sugar was low if perhaps she skipped a meal. We use to love stopping in Montecito and visit these cute cafes and shops. I'm so grateful we're from a beach town of kind and welcoming people who would never treat others like this.(Blonde large woman with a blue white tent dress in case this wasn't the owner).

The menu is long with a lot of overlap in ingredients, many combinations of meat, cheese, and vegetables with a lot of condiments on your choice of bread. There are also salads and flatbread pinsas and various cheese and charcuterie platters. I've stayed home for the pick-ups so have yet to see the place in person, but it's worth noting that they do get overwhelmed by big orders. We got like eight sandwiches last time and the order took over half an hour longer than promised. My friend got an apology and a free cappuccino for his long wait--absolutely wasted, as my husband pointed out, on the one child-free adult in our party--and we all ate a late lunch. I've had a few of the sandwiches, and they've all been solid. The Montecito Club comes with roast turkey, honey baked ham, Swiss, Gruyere, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. The Butterfly Beach is another roast turkey sandwich, with prosciutto, French brie, mayo, lettuce, tomato, olive oil, and red wine vinegar (though it's worth noting that this one was better when I added balsamic at home). The Italian Style is a meaty, loaded sandwich with hot capicola, Italian Toscano salami, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, kosher pickles, pepperoncini, olive oil, and red wine vinegar. I made the mistake of getting this juicy sandwich on a French roll, the soft bread got soggy almost immediately. This place gives you a lot of bread options, and I've found I like the sourdough, especially when I'm saving half of my sandwich for later. We usually hit Panino for easy sandwiches, but it's nice to mix it up once in a while. I'm sure we'll order from Montecito Gourmet again, and maybe I'll even land pick-up duty next time.

I got the morning cinnamon roll, pain suiss chocolat, and the chocolate almond croissant. I don't know why pain au chocolat and almond croissants are usually 2 separate things but here they were combined into one pastry and of course it is as delicious as it sounds. The pain suiss was my favorite because it had a delectably crunchy and fine texture from all of the small striations on the pastry. The display for the pastries was small and didn't seem like there was an impressive spread but everything was a hit and I am sure all of the other pastries were delicious as well. They had savory menu items too. The bad: The interior is small and there are only a few high chairs. The interesting: There were plenty of spots to park when I came in the morning right in front of the store. There were also several outdoor tables for dining.

Win for both of us! We gobbled up their remaining goods of the morning and got a great deal. Their grains are all from France, specializing in sourdough and hand making all their pastries. We tried the Almond Croissant and a fruit cookie which were both good. The standout is their Kouign Amann ($5.50) which you can't find everywhere! The owner of this bakery is actually from Brittany, France - the town this little delight was created in. Dominique Ansel made me fall in love with these flaky treats, and Bree'osh does the kouign amann quite well. If you've never had one before, it's similar to a croissant with brown sugar folded into a very buttery and delicious mold. Also had a solid cold brew coffee. With a few seats inside and outside on the cute outdoor sidewalk, Bree'osh is a fabulous place for a morning stop.

I was invited to Montecito County as a keynote speaker, where I also led several workshops and an all-day retreat. When you're doing that kind of work, sleep (and great food!) is paramount. The organizers put me up in a wonderful hotel, and just a few feet away I discovered this adorable bakery. What a gift. Let's talk food--because WOW. I ordered a breakfast burrito with crispy bacon that was absolutely delicious. I treated my daughter to a breakfast sandwich, and she wisely added avocado and crispy bacon (excellent life choice). And I cannot forget the croissant--flaky, buttery, and so good it deserved its own moment. One day I had the hashbrowns, the next day the potatoes--both were outstanding. Comfort food done right. Despite the place being busy, the service was impeccable. Yvette and Jorie were not only kind and welcoming, but incredibly patient, serving everyone with genuine smiles and care. What truly impressed me was returning the next morning before my flight back to San Francisco--and Yvette remembered my name. That speaks volumes about the caliber of people who work here. It's rare, and it matters. I look forward to being hired again in Montecito County--and when I am, I already know exactly where I'll be eating. And hey... maybe you want to hire me sometime too. It is a small space so we were seated very close to two other tables (the kind of close where it's hard to focus on your own convo). We ordered the Caesar Salad to start. I feel like I've had this exact salad (as in gem lettuce, breadcrumbs, lemony dressing) other places executed a little better. The breadcrumbs were almost too hard creating a grainy/sandy texture rather than a nice crunch. Good flavor though. We also got the Meatballs "Alla Vodka." This was the highlight of the meal for me. My husband thought they could've used more of a binder but personally I liked that they felt more meaty than bready. I recommend using the spoon to eat the meatballs so you get enough sauce with each bite. Don't want any of that delicious sauce to go to waste! We got the pepperoni pizza for our entree. This pizza was just okay to me based on my personal preferences so take this with a grain of salt! I'm not the biggest sourdough person and since the pizza is fermented it has a similar flavor. I also wish that the pizza was a little less charred. I think it was more burnt on top than charred but maybe that's what they're going for and I'm just not the audience. We enjoyed the pepperoni pizza with the house ranch. I really enjoyed this bc I prefer a dill-heavy ranch and this definitely delivered that! Overall, solid meal and would come back. Our server was a little awkward but didn't really affect our experience all that much.
