I was invited to Montecito County as a keynote speaker, where I also led several workshops and an all-day retreat. When you're doing that kind of work, sleep (and great food!) is paramount. The organizers put me up in a wonderful hotel, and just a few feet away I discovered this adorable bakery. What a gift. Let's talk food--because WOW. I ordered a breakfast burrito with crispy bacon that was absolutely delicious. I treated my daughter to a breakfast sandwich, and she wisely added avocado and crispy bacon (excellent life choice). And I cannot forget the croissant--flaky, buttery, and so good it deserved its own moment. One day I had the hashbrowns, the next day the potatoes--both were outstanding. Comfort food done right. Despite the place being busy, the service was impeccable. Yvette and Jorie were not only kind and welcoming, but incredibly patient, serving everyone with genuine smiles and care. What truly impressed me was returning the next morning before my flight back to San Francisco--and Yvette remembered my name. That speaks volumes about the caliber of people who work here. It's rare, and it matters. I look forward to being hired again in Montecito County--and when I am, I already know exactly where I'll be eating. And hey... maybe you want to hire me sometime too. Cute stop on the way to Santa Barbara and much easier to access than the one there. All the staff we interacted with was super friendly and engaging. Their bathroom is outside in the plaza but easy to use. Food was ok, good but not fantastic for the price. We ordered an American breakfast with potatoes and biscuit. I really loved the multi colored potatoes and peppers! Eggs were French scrambled and perfect but the biscuit was pretty disappointing, very dry. My Arnold palmer had fresh tea and very tart lemonade. My partner's coffee came in a large mug but was just ok. My side of avocado was fresh but the strawberries in my side of fruit, not so much. read more

We LOVE Jeannine's! Their pastries are delicious and the outdoor patio is lovely. Every time we're in Montecito, we stop by for our two favorites -- the LEMON SQUARE and the MILLIONAIRE'S SHORTBREAD. They are both absolutely divine! Someone also mentioned that their scones are amazing, so we will try them next time we're in. Oh, and the workers are always so helpful and friendly. I popped in a little after 2pm the other day (not realizing that they had just closed), and one of the workers graciously boxed me up a couple pastries to-go. Bopped into Jeannine's for a quick coffee and matcha and stayed for a great breakfast! The breakfast burrito was the perfect savory start to the day and the yogurt and granola was great-- I'm a sucker for homemade granola. Could you believe that in my four years of living in Santa Barbara, I had never been to Jeannine's? Went for the first time this weekend while visiting with friends. I had the poblano tri-tip melt which is a new menu item! Delicious! My sister and I came here for Breakfast on Memorial Day on our way to Santa Barbara. It's a cute bakery and restaurant. We both got the burrito and I also got a latte. You stand in line to order and then cross your fingers that a table is available after you stood in line to order. Tables indoors are really limited to just a few and outside there are about 7-8 small tables. They do not like you to save a table. Our burritos came with a mixed melody of potatoes: golden potatoes, sweet potato and purple sweet potatoes. They were good! The burritos were a scrambled egg with pieces of bacon and cheese served with a fire roasted salsa. My friends and I were wanting to try out Jeannine's after seeing quite a few recommendations/good reviews on social media. We were originally going to head to the Santa Barbara location but were happy to find another location in Montecito as that aligned with our plans to explore the area. The restaurant is super cute with mostly outdoor seating I believe (although the SB one did seem to have more seating both in and outdoors). We placed an order at the counter and sat outside. Although they have heaters placed outside, they don't produce a lot of heat (at least the one we sat next to), so it was a bit chilly and perhaps a better idea to sit inside during the cold months. As for food, I ordered the Norwegian Benedict with a side of bacon and a mango banana pineapple smoothie. Everything tasted quite good! The Norwegian benedict had a lot of different ingredients including cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, onions, cucumber, etc., and tasted really fresh and delicious together especially when adding a bit of bacon as well. I will say ordering the side of bacon was a bit steep ($5 for 3 pieces), so probably wouldn't get that again. I enjoyed the mango smoothie - you could really taste each fruit especially the pineapple and I appreciated that it didn't taste too sweet or seem to have artificial sweeteners (at least it didn't taste like it). My sister ordered the Chilaquiles, which I've never had before but thought they were really flavorful. Headed to Los Angeles and we came to YELP for a nearby restaurant with a great breakfast. Jeannine's is the place! As you stand in line to place your order, you are face to face with dozens of fresh pastries and each and every one of them looks delicious. After placing our order we were handed a number and we sat outside on the patio. Heaters and pink and white striped umbrellas gave the perfect vibe for our Sunday brunch. Will was so kind and helpful, he was prompt with getting us water, taking away dirty dishes and bringing us a to go box. His attitude was so pleasant and friendly. We ordered the American Breakfast, a side of two eggs , side of bacon and the banana French toast. All were fantastic, arrived within minutes and it was more than we needed, but we would definitely order it all again. Parking was easy on the street and there is plenty, but it can get crowded and you may need to walk a bit. We highly recommend Jeannine's in Montecito if you are in the area or passing through as it's right off the 101 freeway. There are plenty of shops and other fun boutique places in the village. So incredibly good and simple. Perfects that homemade and cozy vibe. Seating is a bit crowded inside but they have many seats outside. They delivered our food very quick. It was really delicious! You can pick out eggs, protein, and bread which I think is really good to have that choice. A lot of places try to go over with their scrambled eggs by making them runny or vise-versa too hard and not appetizing . But these eggs were cooked perfectly. The hashbrows to be honest weren't that good but overall very delicious!!! We also ordered drinks: cappuccino, strawberry mint lemonade, and a iced caramel latte. All three were very good! Our first time here and it was really great! Inside is clean, neat and modern. It's a order-at-the-front-and-sit-where-you-like kinda joint. The tri tip eggs benedict was perfect. Loved the Jeannine's at the shore in Santa Barbara, so decided to stop by this location in Montecito as well. This location is smaller than the SB one, thus offering less merch and goodies inside. However they have beautiful full size cakes for sale, which I don't recall being offered in the SB (unless it was on the other side of the restaurant which I didn't get to sit at). Most of the tables available for you to eat at are located outdoors. I like that they ask you for your party size while you wait in line and then they assign you a table and tell you what table number you are at. This definitely reduced my anxiety about where to sit once I placed my order at the counter. We were seated at a high top by the entrance, which was not the best location. We had the water station behind us so people were constantly coming by and refilling water. People in line had their dogs off leash so the dogs kept wandering around our table. Patrons would stand by our table and chat and catch up which was fine, but they would put their arms on our chairs to lean against, which felt like an invasion of our space. My friend ordered the chicken salad sandwich previously and was so impressed that she ordered it again. I had the chicken salad salad with a side of soup. Everything was great! Service was kind and food came out fairly quickly. Portions were generous and I loved the little wheat free corn bread muffin that came with my salad. I've spent a lot of time in Montecito in the 15 years since my last Jeannine's review. Coast Village Road has changed plenty during that period, but Jeannine's is more or less the same, a local institution serving breakfast, lunch, and pastries, seven days a week. Unfortunately, it is no longer especially possible to get a quick, relaxing meal here on the weekends. I don't know if it was Harry and Meghan or what, but everyone loves Montecito these days, and Jeannine's appears to be feeding every soul who sets foot in this tiny neighborhood. If you want to eat here, or even take out during weekend brunch hours, arrive early or plan ahead. You can order for pick-up online and it's significantly faster than waiting in person. The people are friendly and reasonably accommodating, but there's only so much they can do. The food is great, and it travels well. My husband and kids get the pastries, but I've become partial to the sandwiches. The turkey berry is excellent, with roasted turkey breast, housemade cranberry chutney, lettuce, balsamic, tomato, dijon, mayo, and Swiss cheese. I also like both the chicken pesto and the chicken pecan salad. The pesto comes with marinated chicken breast, housemade pesto, lettuce, balsamic, tomato, mayo, and provolone; the chicken salad with chicken breast, pecans, golden raisins, leeks, green onions, shallots, thym, and lemon. The sandwiches include a side of chips or coleslaw, and I enjoy the light, crunchy slaw. On the breakfast side, Jeannine's does a solid salmon bagel plate, with smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomato, red onion, and capers, with choice of plain or everything bagel. If you want the full Montecito experience, it does seem like Jeannine's has become a popular part of that package. Consider a pick-up order or embrace the hour-long wait for brunch. read more

We love coming here for brunch. However, the outdoor seating in the parking lot has been removed, so we only had the option to dine inside this morning. I do NOT recommend!!! It was extremely uncomfortable as a non-stop flow of workers and customers walked by our table as we were eating. My son's meal arrived about 8-10 minutes before mine did and would've been longer if the server hadn't stopped by to ask how everything was and I told her I still hadn't received my food. We had shared an espresso chocolate chip scone that was absolutely delicious! My son ordered the lemon poppyseed pancakes with scrambled eggs, sausage, and a Havana latte. He loved his! I ordered the classic eggs Benedict with potatoes. Such a tasty hollandaise, with a bright orange yolk egg, and thick slice of Canadian bacon. Decided to drive to Santa Monica for the day and stumbled upon this on Yelp and decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. There was a huge line outside the restaurant. You order at the counter and find a place to sit. The tables turn really fast so there shouldn't be an issue finding a table. Everyone is super friendly and food comes out fairly quick. We got two baked goods, Apple crumble scone and a lemon bar, both were delicious. For breakfast we got their weekend special, the chicken enchilada which had great flavor. We also got the lemon poppy pancake and English muffin sandwich. Lemon poppy pancake was nice and soft, subtle lemon flavor but wished it had more poppy. The English muffin sandwich was good, a little small for the price but all in all very good. The iced matcha latte was a nice start to the day as well. I came in here on my wedding day to have breakfast with some friends and breakfast was great, but the real star of the show was this cake immediately I was drawn to it because I'm obsessed with raspberries and I had a feeling this cake was going to be 10 out of 10 and it delivered I've never eaten here I didn't even plan on having a cake because we were having a little courthouse wedding we ended up taking it to lunch and enjoying it after it was the perfect size and it was so good every single person who tried the cake which was 10 of us enjoyed the cake!! Once again Jeannine's has exceeded our expectations. The menu is so extensive that I had to let two people go in front of me in line because I couldn't decide. (I felt much better when I saw other customers have trouble deciding also) We decided on a Breakfast Quesadilla and Huevos Rancheros. We could have almost split one entree. The Huevos Rancheros looked and tasted amazing, with sliced avocado and refried beans on the side. I could not finish my breakfast quesadilla because it was so big and filling. The guacamole and chipotle cream were delicious on top. But my absolute favorite was the Hash Browns. They serve a square of hash browns that is super crispy on the outside and creamy potato goodness on the inside. They were the best hash browns I have ever had. Perfection. I was not expecting to be so Gaga over the hash browns! It looks like they make a big baking sheet of hash browns and cut out a square. The orange juice tastes fresh squeezed. My husband said his cappuccino was great. There are so many other bakery goodies in the case. We bought a couple things to take home, but I want to go back and try the cookies and cakes. Our family stopped here on the way back from vacation in Santa Ynez. First impression was it may be too snooty given the entitled culture that surrounds the area. The food was really good and the service was appreciated. We had a poor experience with Jeannine's waiting staff. Our significant others were at the front of the line ordering our food, so two of us walked out to grab a table. Shortly after, we watched one of the waiting staff point us out to another staff member. That staff member promptly walked over and booted us from the table. We felt like we were singled out, because other parties didn't get the same service when they sat without a number. The four of us proceeded to stand out front of the restaurant while many other tables were turned over / opened up. A very awkward and uncomfortable experience. We decided to take our food to go and eat elsewhere. We will probably consider other restaurants before returning to this one. EDIT: Adding an update after eating my breakfast burrito. It was underwhelming, soggy, etc. Potatoes were a bit bland. Chad's breakfast burrito was fabulous (a restaurant we ate at a day prior). Quicker turnover on tables too. Unfortunately, we continued to talk about Jeannine's poor service well after we left the establishment. If policing tables is actually their policy, they should do it the right way and not pick and choose who sits (and who doesn't). read more
