DEFINITELY WORTH IT Make the stop if you're in the area. We went for brunch on a weekend while traveling and it was clear this is the spot in town: the line was out the door, but it moved quickly. You order at the counter, they seat you, and the food comes out to your table. We had the lobster Benedict and the challah French toast, and both delivered. The lobster Benedict was generous and rich, and the French toast impressed my wife who has high standards when it comes to French toast. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, and the staff stayed attentive and friendly even with the crowd moving through. If you're in the Santa Barbara area, make time for this one. My son and a friend came in for a light lunch. There was a line to get in and you have to request a table as they are all reserved before ordering. The place is super cute and there must have been 15 or so workers in a place that only seats maybe 20. But let me tell you the pastry was yummy and the latte was one of the best I have had and I make them at home everyday. I loved the cup and wish I could have brought one home but didn't see it for sale. They had all kinds of other items for sale and lots of pastries. I travel around the world empowering minds in schools and corporate spaces--and having a great time doing it. I was invited to Montecito County as a keynote speaker, where I also led several workshops and an all-day retreat. When you're doing that kind of work, sleep (and great food!) is paramount. The organizers put me up in a wonderful hotel, and just a few feet away I discovered this adorable bakery. What a gift. Let's talk food--because WOW. I ordered a breakfast burrito with crispy bacon that was absolutely delicious. I treated my daughter to a breakfast sandwich, and she wisely added avocado and crispy bacon (excellent life choice). And I cannot forget the croissant--flaky, buttery, and so good it deserved its own moment. One day I had the hashbrowns, the next day the potatoes--both were outstanding. Comfort food done right. Despite the place being busy, the service was impeccable. Yvette and Jorie were not only kind and welcoming, but incredibly patient, serving everyone with genuine smiles and care. What truly impressed me was returning the next morning before my flight back to San Francisco--and Yvette remembered my name. That speaks volumes about the caliber of people who work here. It's rare, and it matters. I look forward to being hired again in Montecito County--and when I am, I already know exactly where I'll be eating. And hey... maybe you want to hire me sometime too. We LOVE Jeannine's! Their pastries are delicious and the outdoor patio is lovely. Every time we're in Montecito, we stop by for our two favorites -- the LEMON SQUARE and the MILLIONAIRE'S SHORTBREAD. They are both absolutely divine! Someone also mentioned that their scones are amazing, so we will try them next time we're in. Oh, and the workers are always so helpful and friendly. I popped in a little after 2pm the other day (not realizing that they had just closed), and one of the workers graciously boxed me up a couple pastries to-go. My friends and I were wanting to try out Jeannine's after seeing quite a few recommendations/good reviews on social media. We were originally going to head to the Santa Barbara location but were happy to find another location in Montecito as that aligned with our plans to explore the area. The restaurant is super cute with mostly outdoor seating I believe (although the SB one did seem to have more seating both in and outdoors). We placed an order at the counter and sat outside. Although they have heaters placed outside, they don't produce a lot of heat (at least the one we sat next to), so it was a bit chilly and perhaps a better idea to sit inside during the cold months. As for food, I ordered the Norwegian Benedict with a side of bacon and a mango banana pineapple smoothie. Everything tasted quite good! The Norwegian benedict had a lot of different ingredients including cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, onions, cucumber, etc., and tasted really fresh and delicious together especially when adding a bit of bacon as well. I will say ordering the side of bacon was a bit steep ($5 for 3 pieces), so probably wouldn't get that again. I enjoyed the mango smoothie - you could really taste each fruit especially the pineapple and I appreciated that it didn't taste too sweet or seem to have artificial sweeteners (at least it didn't taste like it). My sister ordered the Chilaquiles, which I've never had before but thought they were really flavorful. Overall, the food was pretty tasty and would love to try some of their sweet breakfast items if I ever had the opportunity to come back. read more

You stand in line to order and then cross your fingers that a table is available after you stood in line to order. Tables indoors are really limited to just a few and outside there are about 7-8 small tables. They do not like you to save a table. Our burritos came with a mixed melody of potatoes: golden potatoes, sweet potato and purple sweet potatoes. They were good! Could you believe that in my four years of living in Santa Barbara, I had never been to Jeannine's? Went for the first time this weekend while visiting with friends. Like I said, it's a smallish building and they pack the people in (you seat yourself). Expensive for our tastes: two brunch meals with tip came to almost $80. I know this is a pricey city and meals right on the beach are going to cost more. But just under $80 for two essentially breakfasts means this only gets 4 stars. If coffee spots were likened to a BFF, Jeannine's is mine in Montecito. I always make it and issue to plan a required stop whenever I travel north. Over the years it's grown, and with it come the crowds, but with all that busyness the staff still delivers great food and consistently excellent coffee. Headed to Los Angeles and we came to YELP for a nearby restaurant with a great breakfast. Jeannine's is the place! As you stand in line to place your order, you are face to face with dozens of fresh pastries and each and every one of them looks delicious. After placing our order we were handed a number and we sat outside on the patio. Heaters and pink and white striped umbrellas gave the perfect vibe for our Sunday brunch. Will was so kind and helpful, he was prompt with getting us water, taking away dirty dishes and bringing us a to go box. His attitude was so pleasant and friendly. We ordered the American Breakfast, a side of two eggs , side of bacon and the banana French toast. All were fantastic, arrived within minutes and it was more than we needed, but we would definitely order it all again. Parking was easy on the street and there is plenty, but it can get crowded and you may need to walk a bit. We highly recommend Jeannine's in Montecito if you are in the area or passing through as it's right off the 101 freeway. There are plenty of shops and other fun boutique places in the village. Our first time at Jeannine's - and we were just charmed. The food was terrific, the setting first rate and staff was solicitous. The other patrons and their dogs were friendly and it made for an overall terrific way to enjoy our breakfast. Loved the Jeannine's at the shore in Santa Barbara, so decided to stop by this location in Montecito as well. This location is smaller than the SB one, thus offering less merch and goodies inside. However they have beautiful full size cakes for sale, which I don't recall being offered in the SB (unless it was on the other side of the restaurant which I didn't get to sit at). Most of the tables available for you to eat at are located outdoors. I like that they ask you for your party size while you wait in line and then they assign you a table and tell you what table number you are at. This definitely reduced my anxiety about where to sit once I placed my order at the counter. We were seated at a high top by the entrance, which was not the best location. We had the water station behind us so people were constantly coming by and refilling water. People in line had their dogs off leash so the dogs kept wandering around our table. Patrons would stand by our table and chat and catch up which was fine, but they would put their arms on our chairs to lean against, which felt like an invasion of our space. My friend ordered the chicken salad sandwich previously and was so impressed that she ordered it again. I had the chicken salad salad with a side of soup. Everything was great! Service was kind and food came out fairly quickly. Portions were generous and I loved the little wheat free corn bread muffin that came with my salad. I've spent a lot of time in Montecito in the 15 years since my last Jeannine's review. Coast Village Road has changed plenty during that period, but Jeannine's is more or less the same, a local institution serving breakfast, lunch, and pastries, seven days a week. Unfortunately, it is no longer especially possible to get a quick, relaxing meal here on the weekends. I don't know if it was Harry and Meghan or what, but everyone loves Montecito these days, and Jeannine's appears to be feeding every soul who sets foot in this tiny neighborhood. If you want to eat here, or even take out during weekend brunch hours, arrive early or plan ahead. You can order for pick-up online and it's significantly faster than waiting in person. The people are friendly and reasonably accommodating, but there's only so much they can do. The food is great, and it travels well. My husband and kids get the pastries, but I've become partial to the sandwiches. The turkey berry is excellent, with roasted turkey breast, housemade cranberry chutney, lettuce, balsamic, tomato, dijon, mayo, and Swiss cheese. I also like both the chicken pesto and the chicken pecan salad. The pesto comes with marinated chicken breast, housemade pesto, lettuce, balsamic, tomato, mayo, and provolone; the chicken salad with chicken breast, pecans, golden raisins, leeks, green onions, shallots, thym, and lemon. The sandwiches include a side of chips or coleslaw, and I enjoy the light, crunchy slaw. On the breakfast side, Jeannine's does a solid salmon bagel plate, with smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomato, red onion, and capers, with choice of plain or everything bagel. If you want the full Montecito experience, it does seem like Jeannine's has become a popular part of that package. Consider a pick-up order or embrace the hour-long wait for brunch. read more

We love coming here for brunch. However, the outdoor seating in the parking lot has been removed, so we only had the option to dine inside this morning. I do NOT recommend!!! It was extremely uncomfortable as a non-stop flow of workers and customers walked by our table as we were eating. My son's meal arrived about 8-10 minutes before mine did and would've been longer if the server hadn't stopped by to ask how everything was and I told her I still hadn't received my food. Decided to drive to Santa Monica for the day and stumbled upon this on Yelp and decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. There was a huge line outside the restaurant. You order at the counter and find a place to sit. The tables turn really fast so there shouldn't be an issue finding a table. Everyone is super friendly and food comes out fairly quick. We got two baked goods, Apple crumble scone and a lemon bar, both were delicious. For breakfast we got their weekend special, the chicken enchilada which had great flavor. We also got the lemon poppy pancake and English muffin sandwich. Lemon poppy pancake was nice and soft, subtle lemon flavor but wished it had more poppy. The English muffin sandwich was good, a little small for the price but all in all very good. The iced matcha latte was a nice start to the day as well.
