The tech immediately got aggressive and demanded a $65 dispatch fee just for pulling into my driveway. I NEVER signed anything agreeing to this fee, and I shouldn't have to pay a dime for a "free estimate" where zero work was done. When I refused to pay, things got disgusting. I called their office to sort it out and spoke to Linda, the woman who took my initial appointment. She was incredibly hostile and explicitly threatened to send me to collections over a measly $65! They even text-blasted a voice recording of my emergency phone call to my phone as a petty bullying tactic to scare me. Trying to extort and harass a homeowner while their house is actively flooding is predatory. These companies should be ashamed of themselves. It is disgusting--all about the money! Here's the story: I used a general contractor to redo my master bathroom. A man by the name of Gilder (pronounced Hill-dair) Castillo was hired by my contractor to do the work. Gilder did it all - plumbing, electrical, tile work, flooring, carpentry, you name it. In the end, I only wished I could have just worked directly with Gilder. But I did manage to get his number in the process and later called him back to help with some other things around our house including some dry wall repair and painting. Gilder is polite, meticulous and dependable. I have no trouble trusting him in my home and he always showed up exactly on time. I honestly couldn't believe how thorough he is when working. He took great care in prepping and finishing. He treated our home as if it was his own. My husband (who is the pickiest man in the world right down to the last detail) was even happy with the quality of Gilder's work. I would feel very comfortable recommending this man. He is well worth the money (charged me about $200 a day at the time) and so far I haven't found anything he can't do well. Gilder's English is a little broken, but he seems to understand well. When calling him I sometimes speak with his lovely wife Anna who speaks very good English. Gilder's mobile is 310-921-0194. His wife also helps with scheduling and take calls for him. Her mobile is 310-947-4794. They recently relocated from CA to the Penns Grove area in New Jersey and are trying to get reestablished in the NJ area. The issue was with the company and not with me. I was not going to reschedule. This is an overpriced company that takes advantage of desperate situations. My bill to replace the pipes in a very small area was over $2,000.00. The saga does not end here. I tried to wash clothes this morning, only to discover that the water supply was somehow not reaching the washer. Now, I have to contact another plumber to fix this problem caused by this company.
