Good old fashioned down home cooking!! The country fried steak (or chicken fried steak) was seriously the 2nd best (to mine) I've ever had!! The pancakes are so thick and filling and full of good flavor. When you walk in you can smell the pancakes, which gets me every time. The portions are generous and you absolutely will NOT leave here hungry. The staff has always been kind and courteous, as well as personable which makes the dining experience wonderful all the way around. My extremely picky teenager even loves the food and she doesn't like much of anything other than Mom's cooking. read more

My Red Hats had their luncheon there April 20,2022 at 11:00 am. I had made a reservation the week before to ensure they would be ready for us. We arrived an no set up was ready for us. They sent us to the back but the Veteran were meeting there. Back to the front we went to find out were we were sitting. Finally they set up for ten as I had requested earlier. Only seven show up because two member had surgery and one could not make it. We had to request four times if someone was going to take our order. Finally we got help. The food was good and hot when served. We requested separate tickets no that was not possible. Here the issues some paid with credit cards and some paid with cash which was hard at the register. They are not the place for large groups. We are a elderly group in our 70s,80,and 90 so these lunches are very special to us this place was a disappointment for service. read more

Tried it for the first time today. It was amazing. The omelette covered the whole plate! Definitely not skimpy with portions here. Also got to meet both the floor and kitchen manager, it was really a cool experience. Even some Bedford police officers had driven out just to eat here. It was delicious, I'm a big eater, and I couldn't finish it! The hash browns were perfect, the omelette wasn't burned or scorched and it had so much meat in it! Very impressive stuff! We love having breakfast at Pantego Cafe. Be warned, they do keep it very cool inside, so bring a sweater. But the food is great, pancakes fluffy, eggs cooked to perfection, and the home fries are exactly what everybody should order. Senior Menu is very reasonable. I love the 5 silver dollar with one egg, 5 silver dollar pancakes and I substitute the meat for the home fries. If you get there before 9:00, coffee is free! read more

Tried a few times & although this place is extremely busy during lunch, I found them to be over salting the entree and I think they use canned vegetables - (maybe a 2 time event) the prices were reasonable & May try breakfast since we ate at lunch time - I am also b over sensitive to salt in my diet but hey we all gave blood pressure issues right? read more

Wife & I went there Month ago for Breakfast & was good. Just went back for Lunch and not so good. The Meatloaf Special was dry & tasteless, wife could not eat but half. The brown gravy topping was cold & also tasteless. Meatloaf should have a thick rich Tomato sauce not gravy. My Breaded Pork Tenderloin was not good. It was just a Breaded Pork Chop which unfortunately had why too much fat on it which was hidden by the breaded crust. The same cold tasteless gravy did nothing to help. Potatoes were cold, lumpy and came out of a bag, with unfortunately the same cold, tasteless gravy. Will probably go back for Breakfast but several places near by for much better Lunch. read more

Overrated. Service was not good. I did not experience nice services that other customers had. I wasn't greeted friendly but mostly ignored. Food was ok, but it upset my stomach. My reaction to their food tells me if you are sensitive to food in some way, this is not the best place. Not fresh ingredients or too much grease or artificial stuff. At eight in there a couple of weeks ago on a lunch run on Sunday several people ordered turkey and dressing our pork roast and dressing and the dressing was in edible it was so salty that You could not even eat it. We visited for brunch a few weeks back on a Saturday. It wasn't very crowded, I think they were going to be closing soon, but they sure made us feel like we'd come over to Grandma's house and she was happy to cook us up some good fixin's. No rushing us out or dirty looks, or leftover grody. It was all very good. I had a heavily-modified omelet (chorizo instead of the other meat), and it was awesome. I mean, like a thin, crepe-ish layer that had been folded several times, then rolled up around the meat and other ingredients. The hash browns were perfectly done. A slice of mint chocolate chip pie was perfect for soothing my raged-up taste buds after all that spicy. The coffee was hot, and the place was clean. My daughter, picky as she is, actually went for the French toast... and a side of fries. And she loved it! She also pulled one of her front teeth out and that was pretty cool! I should note that it was a baby tooth, she's not a grown up, 'cause that would be weird, losing teeth at a restaurant and all that. My wife got French toast as well, and she enjoyed. Yes she did. She did... very much. She got peanut butter pie afterwards, and it was very thick and delicious. We all enjoyed the meal tremendously. Our waitress was India, and she was a hip chick. Also there was waitress Amanda, and she's cool too. They'll talk Game of Thrones if you ask. So be under advisement. This is our go-to breakfast place! We have tried JJ's, division st diner, rise & shine (gross).... Pantego cafe is better than all of them! All these places offer similar breakfast items but we think Pantego cafe has better quality and better tasting items. I really like the omelette and pancakes but everything is good. read more

The complimentary soup was delicious! But, the meatloaf was dense and tasteless. I didn't see any onions, celery etc in the meatloaf and it had a thick brown gravy on it. Not my style of meatloaf. The mashed potatoes was covered in the same gravy -- wish I had known to request no gravy. Overall- not so good. read more

Visited the 2d day they were open for lunch. My wife said her Reuben was very good n one of the best that she has had. I had the lunch special, smothered pork chop that was boneless with mashed potatoes n okra for sides, n we got chicken noodle soup with rolls n cornbread as part of the lunch special. Just moved to town and ate here first. My wife got some giant breakfast mash up thing with biscuits and gravy and hash browns and eggs, etc. and it was great. I had the catfish special which was excellently cooked with ok sides. I went back for breakfast this morning and had some of the best pancakes around. Very friendly waitstaff. I'm extremely happy with their service and food! Their lemon meringue pie is to die for! I absolutely love coming here. My 5 year old son loves it here as well. I love their spinach egg omelet.
