Look, it's an ok campground but for a family resort, they can be incredibly rude! my niece and nephew wanted to visit with us in the afternoon while we were camping- the office staff was completely unaccommodating! they accused me of not reading the rules and regulations- what campground doesn't have a visitor policy!? In the end, they charged us per person for the entire 3 day weekend so that they could visit for an afternoon. Price gauging, the rude attitude- we'll go somewhere else thanks. read more

I can not say enough about how awesome this place is. As a family with pets and a hyper 7 year old and two nature loving parents, it was an absolute dream. We did a ton: hiking, pool swimming, lake swimming, jumping off floating docks, game room, mini golf, tennis, golf cart cruises around the gorgeous, spacious grounds, paddle boat rides, you could explore, relax, and enjoy the amenities all summer and never get bored. Beautiful, ABSOLUTELY IMMACULATE cabins with plenty of space, big hot clean showers, cozy quarters with tv, plenty of outdoor space and the best staff ever! Last year we did ocean city beach house and cabin camping and this trip blew that out of the water. This place is gorgeous, clean, peaceful, quiet and amazing and we will be back for as long as possible next year! Such helpful lovely staff, especially the guy who helped us with our golf cart! This place is the ultimate family camping spot. I honestly can't see how anyone could rate this below a 5. It's freaking spectacular! read more

Very disappointed. Sites are amongst the tightest I've seen. Packed in like sardines. There is barely enough room between campers to lay down an outdoor rug. Owners have illogical policies. We have two adults in our camper and wanted two more folks to join us part way though for the rest of the stay. They made it clear that we could have booked with 4 people at the start but can't add 2 after we've arrived. 2+2=4 right so how does that make any sense? We will not be back. read more

We stayed here during our annual group tent camping trip. $50 a night/per site. Normally we reserve a minimum of 4 spots, 5 for this trip. Panther required each site to be reserved individually so each camper had to call and reserve and pay the $50 deposit. That is not a huge deal but kind of a pain logistically. One person tried to hold the 5 sites but was told the credit card would be run 5 separate times. We pulled up to the guard shack, we were given a tag to being to the office, our plates and car were noted which is normal, but we were truly quizzed as to how many people were in our car. Apparently, you may only have 2 adult campers at each site. They must have asked my husband and I 3 or 4 timed if we had anyone else with us. Guess this was an issue previously and they enforce it. Also note that if you leave the site and come back after 10 pm, you need to purchase a magic coin to get back in. The check in process was easy and we picked up a few bundles of wood. $6 for a standard size bundle, and please note to stop the spread of beetles you too should purchase here. Small general store area for anything you may have forgotten, or in case you want to purchase a stuffed animal unicorn in a bag. They also sell some sort of chemical that will make your campfire colorful when tossed into the flames. Our sites were off the Fern Annex, #s 5-9, and right between 2 bathrooms. Great location! We were close to the lake, boat launch, and hot tub. Our sites were wide, level, and a mix of grass and gravel. If it rains like when we stayed, you may not like the muddy nature of the site. The water drained quickly but could use more gravel and/or grass. The water and electric hookups worked well. The location of our camp sites was definitely 4 stars. I highly recommend checking their map before booking so you can request where you'd like to stay. We will post pictures of the bathrooms, but the best shower location is behind the basketball courts, by the soccer field. There is a mural on the outside. One of the employees told us to use these showers rather than the ones by the hot tub (1 unit, really small) or under the residence. Seriously, we probably would not have found the ones under the house, but they reminded us of prison showers. Small, dark, grey tiled single units. If you're claustrophobic, avoid these! The best shower units behind the basketball courts/ near the soccer field were clean, 36" square showers with a changing stall. The showers have 5 minute timers that provide perfect temperature water with good pressure. The bathrooms by our campsite, Fern Annex, were OK. Clean enough, 2 toilets and a sink, although no soap in the men's room. The single toilet unit by the lake was also clean but basic. The lake looked great to fish or boat in- but to swim in, not so much. The pool was HUGE, clean, and looked well maintained. The hot tub was almost a pool itself, very nice and had a nice view of the lake, just a shame it closes so early. On our visit the hot tub was clean and warm, although had two small areas that had minor amount of dirt. Please don't let our poor pictures of the hot tub keep you out, it was very nice. Many large signs with many rules are posted at the pool, hot tub, lake and beach area. This place likes rules! Staff was pleasant. Do note that recycling is not single stream and that you will need to separate it out into different bins. All in all, this was a nice campground. We are dropping 2 stars for all of the added fees. $10 to launch your own Kayak, $15 to rent one. Ping Pong was $3.75 to rent 3 balls and $1.75 per paddle and mini golf had a charge as well but was closed. For $50 a night for tent camping, you should be able to borrow and use those items at no cost. It feels nickle-and-dime-y here. We've been to other campsites in the area that are cheaper per night and let you use all the amenities/activities at no extra charge. read more

The lake is beautiful and clean. The campsite is large and mostly families. Unfortunately, due to the condition (very dirty) of our rental trailer we left a day early. The Positive - Staff was friendly, and the lake access was fantastic. The Negative - 1. The trailer we rented was filthy and likely not cleaned in months. Our feet turned black from walking on the floor barefoot. 2. No hand soap in the rental (especially during COVID-19), which turned me off completely, as we had to bring literally everything, so I assumed they would at least include HAND SOAP. 3. Bedroom mattress covers were filthy with stains. 4. NO Hot Water at all, so we had to take ICE COLD showers. 5. Floor was peeling up in several places in the house due to what appeared like water damage. 6. The list goes on... read more

The camp grounds it's self was great people were nice, lake was great. Pool needs a make over tile was missing around edge but water was clean. Camp store was way to expensive. Make sure when you stay here have at least 30 ft. Of sewer hose, cost 46.00 for 10 ft of hose at camp store. Do not reserve site 68 in meadow land. The site is way to small our awning was 1 ft away from the other rv, I brought it up to manager and nothing was done, the other rv was parked half way on our site so that he could have a tent on his site, I feel he should of moved us, or told the other person to move over, my wife said we should only pay for half the site because that's all we got, half a site. The campground looks nice. The people that run it are nice. What they let people get away with is not nice. Drunks screaming and yelling outside at 11:45 p.m., which is 45 minutes past quiet hour. People slamming car and truck doors as they finally leave. People letting off fireworks. Dogs barking all day long. The showers have lots of hot water but they bought the smallest shower stalls available. It is like showering in a locker. The seat to sit on is adequate for a child not an adult. Not enough hooks to hang clothes, towels, etc to keep them dry and off of the floor. They need to cruise through the campground and enforce the rules that they have set. Especially on a weekend close to the Fourth of July. And especially after quiet hour. read more

I travel the country racing road bicycles (at Augusta, GA now for the Master's Nationals) and the last 10 weeks or so have stayed at 5-6 other RV Campgrounds...at ALL the other RV places they drove me to my site, helped me back in, (I have a 2022 Tundra and a 30' pull behind), provided great Wi-Fi service, cell phone reception was great even in the KOA in the mountains in VA 2 days ago, picnic tables were clean, no bugs or mosquitos to speak off, sites well marked, and all were quiet, this one was relatively quiet as it's a park of 98% permanent sites with cabins, RV's that look like they haven't been moved in years, and other "permanent" type looking sites so adults/families had small fires and were outside until maybe 10:30 which kept me awake...so it's a New Jersey summer camp/place to stay for adults and families with movies at night and bands and tennis courts, and pools, etc. it's NOT for a 1-3 night stay when driving through and all one wants to do is chill and get to sleep early!! No one offered to drive me to my site and it was a MAZE of very small 1 lane roads and the few sites they had for 1-2-3 night guests were impossible to see with the small signs and #'s covered with moss and black mold...so I had to call them and they finally took me to my site...as soon as I got out to detach my camper I got attacked by mosquitos and it was impossible to let my dogs outside my camper and we all got bite a lot, especially when re-attaching it days later...the picnic table was covered in mold and moss, not habitable, there was NO Wi-Fi !! I have NEVER been to a RV park with no Wi-Fi...cell phone reception was terrible, half the time didn't work...and I have never encountered this before but one needed to put in their security code when leaving?? I am not from the region and had no other place to stay as it was 7:30 on a Fri night...every day I left at dawn and didn't come back until almost dark...never so glad to leave a RV park!! read more

Now, at 30, I decided to escape my life and go back for a few days and it was every bit as perfect as I remember! Friendly, accommodating staff, good prices, clean trailer rental (stocked w cooking equipment), and beautiful views. I recommend this place to everyone who asks and I will continue to do so. We've been going to Panther Lake for over 30 years. Mostly because of their amenities. The pool is huge, the hot tub is also impressive. The lake is beautiful, and although it gets little use for swimming (except during Covid 2020) it is scenic and people do quite a bit of fishing on it. There are also nice tennis courts, playground, mini-golf, shuffleboard and basketball. Some sites are small, but over all a pleasant experience. All of this said, it was never a campground with much activity, you made your own fun on their equipment. When I booked for Memorial Day I found out that it had changed ownership. I didn't like paying in full upfront, but that seems to be the new normal. I didn't know what to expect from the new ownership. This was the rainiest MDW ever, plus it was cold in the 40s and 50s. Friday night we stayed on our site, played games in the trailer and had a small fire. By Saturday it was evident that it would rain ALL weekend. I decided to trek up to the store to see what was going on. As it turned out, they had a whole lot of activities planned. kids crafts, adult crafts, Tie Dying, a craft sale, Bingo, and a band on Saturday night. We decided to tough it out and participate. We were so pleasantly surprised. The band was great, the craft sale was small but also fun. We enjoyed Bingo ( I won!), and had a wonderful weekend. I highly praise the staff, especially the entertainment team! Keep up the good work. We'll be back. Oh, wait. I almost forgot!! Please get WIFI. We just got back from Panther Lake Camping Resort and we had a BLAST! This was our first time glamping, and we had a few things that we had to learn. The Staff was fantastic and came immediately to help! Check-In was easy-peasy light and breezy, the camp store was VERY reasonably priced and everything was well taken care of. Quiet, friendly and lots to do even on a chilly October weekend! I would recommend Panther Lake Camping Resort to anyone and everyone. There were RV/Trailers sites with all the hook-ups, tent camping spaces and cabins. Something to do for everyone and everyone, staff and campers alike, were friendly. Panther Lake Campground has now become Panther Lake Revolving Door Campground. In the past three years, since the new company took over, most seasonal campers are leaving as fast as they come in. Besides the dramatic increase in the rate (up $1600) in the last three years, to pay for the new rental cabins they bought, it's also the rude and unprofessional manner campers get treated in while camping. The management and security act with a, "You do what I say" or there will be consequences attitude. Military like or even jail type. When security, Stan, knows you have a gathering at your site, whether its small or large, he lurks in the background waiting for a minor reason to make a big deal out of nothing and say you are breaking rules. He shuts his truck lights off and hide behind trees then pop out with a flashlight in your eyes and say "You don't want to mess with me, I said to keep your voices down ". If that's not an aggressive, unprofessional confrontational threat, then I don't know what is. Stan takes pride in getting people evicted. Unbelievable, this is how the place is run. When Brent, the manager came the next morning with the evictions notice because Stan lied and said we were cursing him out, and the dog was barking all night. Stan did this, knowing he mistreated us the night before, and was afraid we would put in a complaint about him. Brent's response was that his police officer would not lie.(Police Officer really). Sounds just as crazy. We have been seasonal campers for eight years never had any inflictions. The biggest injustice was served. So just beware if you don't mind being bullied around and walking on eggshells then this is the place for you. read more

We stayed here twice, 2 weekends, so far this summer and are going back again for 2 more in August since we really enjoyed it. My wife asked a ton of questions before we even signed up and the staff was VERY friendly, patient, and accommodating. We stayed in one of their rental trailers. These are small mobile homes that sleep 4-5 people. I must say, I can be one nitpicky [--] and I really loved it, especially when we got the brand new one with wood floors (well, wood floor laminate). The trailers were both clean, well stocked with kitchen utensils, and air-conditioned. We used the charcoal grill, enjoyed a campfire (you need to buy their wood), and went fishing. Great fishing both in the lake for everyone and Bambi Pond for little kids. We caught lots of small throw-back fish. We also rented a rowboat and kayaks. Prices are good for rentals and at the gift shop. They even had .35 cent popsicles, the root beer flavor ones were great. We played Bingo, played catch on their fields, mini-golf, playground, did ceramics, balloon class, and did lots of swimming. The pool was surprisingly nice and clean considering one of the weekends was 4th of July and it was packed. They also have basketball courts, tennis, and an adult Jacuzzi. Next time I will bring our bikes. You can ride around the grounds and there's also an awesome Rail Trail across the street from the grounds called the Sussex Branch Trail. I was worried there would be a bunch of riff-raff like you see at Tomahawk Lake, but it wasn't like that at all. Everyone was nice and not obnoxious. Anything bad? I did think they charged a lot for firewood. $7 for a small bundle. You'd think after Hurricane Sandy they'd be giving away wood with all the downed trees in the area. The wood lasted longer than I thought it would though. Also, I didn't like the linoleum floors in the first trailer, I'd recommend you bring a couple throw rugs. Like I said, this place ain't the Ritz. There are some year-round residents and a few ramshackled looking trailers that may seem scummy to the vane "high-on-the-hill" snobby types. But if you're down to earth, you'll enjoy it. Funny thing too, we searched all over NW NJ for a campground and chose Panther Lake which is 5 miles from our home. read more

Every time someone went by their place it would bark and there were kids riding bikes around all over the place and people walking so it never shut up. Shower stalls in we're way too narrow to maneuver in. One thing I really didn't like though was that the shrubbery was inundated with poison ivy so if you have kids or dogs, watch out. read more

It's nice that there is a lake and a pool which is what brought us all the way from NYC, but after experiencing a kid throwing up in the pool right behind me and catching a snapping turtle in the lake while fishing, we decided to skip the jacuzzi. They do however enforce an unprecedented 1/2 day charge for remaining on the premises past check out, so forget that last relaxing swim after you're packed and ready to head out. That was almost as dismissive and obnoxious as the counter ladies generally were. Other complaints were no soap or toilet paper in the bathrooms the first night. The best was not one but two oars that broke while my friends were boating. They got their money back, but whateves. Not a fan. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!! THEY WILL PROFILE YOU. we have stayed on numerous occasions here with any issues until yesterday. An employee named, Carol refused to extend our stay because our, RV was too old? Wtf. She claims other customers are complaining about our rv being too old? Our rv is a, 1986 jamee in good mechanical condition except for a couple of mismatched colors. In past they had no problems taking our money or judgement of what our rv may look like. We demanded a written explanation and she refused. We asked to speak with owner but instead informed us hell be in tomorrow (being today) the owner was sympathetic but offered no comparison and just apologized repeatedly. I made him aware that nowhere in their website or contract of stay or brochures indicate the type of model or year of any rv are restricted? In fact I took pictures of current residents that their rv are as old as, 1970, 75 and with broken windows and boarded up? We were discriminate, humiliate, profiled,insulted...my wife took a nervous breakdown and this unwanted event totally disrupted our plans and created financial burden. On advice we have strongly suggested to take the matter to court . Beware.. they'll take your money, then profile you and unwelcome you. read more

This has been the third time that I have visited the campsite and I felt that it has fallen short of it being rated the best campground in New Jersey. First, the bathroom was disgusting. I didn't seen anyone go in there and clean the whole weekend we were there. There was hair in the sinks and showers and dirty toilets. There was no hand sanitizer stations near the bathroom. Also nothing to dry your hands with. The shower were to hot to use during the summer. Only hot water was coming out. We had to make serveral complaints due to noise because the curfew was not enforced. On the plus side staff was nice and pool was clean. There needs to be some things updated. read more

We stayed in the trailer they rent out. Absolutely disgusting and run down. Dead bugs on the bed. Floors soooo dirty. Wood floors rotted by slider inside covered up by a dirty outside welcome mat. Bathroom dirty also. I cleaned it myself. Ants all over the counters. Terrible management. I had to call them numerous times about the cleanliness, and to ask for pots, pans, cups, utensils. Which they said were taking out all cabins because of Covid, which they did not tell me. They were not very nice about it. Also changed trailers but one was as gross as the other. Also did not allow daily visitors claiming cause of Covid. That is not a state requirement as of right and I spoke with the several times regarding my reservation prior to our stay and they never told us of the changes. The people next to us had visitors sneaking in all weekend long, giving them the entrance code. Cars tags were never checked all weekend m. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK. read more

My peace on earth.. there's always lots to do, really close to New York City. For The seasonal people not as cheap as I would want them to be but compared to other places is not that bad, if you're coming for the day or overnight then it is really cheap. The security in this place is always on top of things and they make their presence known, Everyone is nice to me and my family. We called today to make a reservation for next week. We were planning on taking my brother-in-law and his fiancé for a nice weekend of camping. The woman informed us that they only allow two people per campsite. I explained that we have a 32 foot fifth wheel camper and it sleeps 8 people. She again said they don't allow more than two people per campsite. ??? What kind of campground does that? I guess you're not allowed to bring your kids if you go camping? No worries. Stayed here for memorial day weekend and labor day weekend. It was a good time. I just think there are too many seasonal people who act like this is their space and the campers are intruding. Overall good time once you get over the feeling you are camping out in someones back yard. read more

The most expensive camping spot we have ever stayed and it cost us more while there for facilities that are disgusting, a shower I had to pay for, and parks and pools that had no shade the kids didn't want any part of them. We camp a lot and can honestly say we are not too picky, but when the kids say, "Never again" you really need to question how bad it really was. read more

Some areas on this campsite are more densely packed than others. Fortunately, this was not the case this time. We planned ahead and found a spot that had enough sites to book a few family members so we could be closeby (a nook with four sites) which worked out perfectly. We were situated between 2 bathrooms. Showers available for $.25 per 5 mins, laundry facilities and a game room with change machine are located next to the office. There is also a pavilion with tables to house events like ceramic painting, live music, a magic show, games, etc. The staff was mostly friendly and the office closes at 10p, In case you plan on arriving late. Checkout is at 2p and if you plan early, you can pay extra to stay an extra 1/2 day if the weather is nice. We used the pool and the large outdoor jacuzzi. We also rented rowboats and kayaks. Fishing licenses can be purchased at the office for lake fishing. Tent sites and trailers are available. Book early if you plan on going for holiday weekends. If you do, you'll have to stay the entire weekend (Fri, sat, sun, mon- for memorial and Labor Day weekends). Worth the trip! The bathrooms are a little scary because of bugs..just swag them with your shower slippers. Just butch up, you'll be fine. read more

The camp location is very convenient (close) but pricey. The main problem is very bad cell service and even worse wifi. The wifi is even bad in the one hot spot near the office. The straw that breaks me from returning is that after the maned entry gate closes you have pay to enter the grounds, even when you paid for a site. Also you have to pay silly money to even visit someone. Nothing worse then paying top dollar for a site and then being nickel and dimed while not even providing usable WiFi. We just finished a weekend here and we won't be back. The bathrooms are filthy and not maintained. No paper towels and no hand dryers. Very few showers work and the ones that do are gross. If you are renting a trailer or a cabin with a bathroom you might be ok. The lake is also disgusting! And the pool is disgusting! There are no lifeguards so the pool is a very dangerous place besides being a vile collection of spit and pee. There are more permanent sites than campsites and those people are not very fond of the campers. We were hoping for a great place close to NYC but this is not it. We won't be back. read more

Stayed the weekend and it was okay!! They need to do a lot of updating thought. The lake where you were allowed to swim in is dirty with raccoon poop and with lots of yuck. The game room is small and hot. The restrooms by the office was clean but the bathroom &showers were not so clean. The pool and kiddy pool was cold!!! Terrible place. Only 2 adults per site. Do not dare have more than that or they will charge you the price of another campsite. You have a coin that you pay a $1 for to get back in the campground supposedly after 9 but apparently if the office closes at 5 which it did when we were there you are out of luck! No trash is collected. Did not check out the bath house so I do not know how they were. There were a few friendly staff people but believe me they hold you to that $1 token to get back in. I think this campground is geared to full timers and they should stop letting weekend campers in. read more

Me, wife and 3 kids just camped for July 4th weekend. Rented a cabin. The older ones with no bathroom. Cabin was very clean and our outside area was clean also. The bathrooms and showers on the other hand were not very clean. We were camping with a few other families and we all liked the grounds and activities, but unfortunately everyone with remember the dirty restrooms. They do not screen who they let in and you will find 25+ people on one site in tents, playing music loud all night and early morning. For they money they charge people its not worth it read more
